Went in for a late night snack, and glad I did. We ordered 6 different cookies and they were all incredibly delicious. Service was great and the store had a super clean look. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a sweet snack (especially late at night as they are open until 1am on some nights) !

I don't think I got the same cookies from the pictures. the cookies I got were the same ones you get at the grocery store in the plastic tubs that they make in house. indistinguishable actually. I see the place has good ratings so I don't know maybe some people got the thick home made looking cookies in the advertising but i didn't.

I just wanted to share that it was a late Sunday night and I had a craving for cookies, I had never ordered from Sweet Lous before but last night I finally did and oh boy it was so worth it, the cookies were delicious and they wrote a note on the box. You can feel how much they care and that makes a whole difference, my husband got to try the cookies and he also loved it. Super recommend them. Great flavour and great service. Plus I`m amazed with their hours, its nice to have somewhere local that its always open for late night cravings. Thank you.

Love that Sweet Lou's closes late. A friend and I each had one of their super milkshakes, which have cookies blended in, and they are The Best! So many options for ice-cream, cookies, syrup, etc. Fortunately, a very friendly owner advised us what options to choose. They also offer ice-cream sandwiches and sundae. Next time we will try the ice-cream sandwiches for us.

When you order an ice cream sandwich or a sundae, you don’t get basic quality ice cream like you might expect - you get locally made, high quality Shaw’s ice cream! Sweet Lou's is easily one of the best dessert places in Waterloo. My friends and I went for the first time and Lou was welcoming and super wholesome. We ordered a dozen cookies, milk shake and icecream sandwiches. I’ve placed two UberEats orders, while out of town, to be shipped to family. The first time, the cookies received rave reviews! The second time, Sweet Lou’s went ABOVE AND BEYOND. I asked that they write a happy birthday message on the box and they did SO much more than that to make the box look extra special, including adding a birthday banner and napkins. What a gem of a place! We went for pick up around opening time in the eve. From a very warm welcome to the DELICIOUS cookies, our experience was nothing short of awesome. Very clean and orderly space. They take pride in their work and it shows through their service and quality. Ordered The Meltdown ice cream sandwich with vanilla bean ice cream and two cookies (He Shoots, He Skors and Smores) for the first time - soft, full or flavour, and made with love! I ordered through Skip The Dishes and left a small note asking them to write a message from me on the cookie box somewhere. I always order Skip the dishes from Sweet Lou’s as one night after a midterm test i decided to walk down to their store since they’re open late. I was 15 minutes late after their hours of operation and the gentlemen inside saw me and was generous enough to let me in the store. Not only he let me in the store but he gave me a half dozen of cookies for free and that’s when I fell in love with their cinnamon cookie I believe (part of the free half dozen) don’t quote me too hard on that haha. The kindness of the gentlemen’s heart and action made my night one of the best experiences being in Waterloo! I recommend this dessert place if you’re not a local and visiting town. I promise you won’t regret it!

Cookies were good but a little to sweet for me personally. Maybe I just like classics like oatmeal chocolate chip, gingerbread cookies, or white chocolate and macadamia. I wouldn’t order again for myself but would recommend for anyone who likes sweets and wants to try fun new flavours. My fave cookie was the meltdown.

We got to pick any two cookies from a very fun selection of flavors and any ice cream plus toppings and they form it perfectly into the fanciest ice cream sandwich I've ever seen. Omg these cookies are sooo good! And the workers are always so kind. I’ve gone a few times and I’ve always left feeling better. There’s an amazing selection of top notch cookies. My friend and I came in right after close and not only did they still serve us, but they also gave us a extra free half dozen of cookies! Plus, I looked at their website and it looks like a family owned small business! I love to see it and I’ll definitely be returning many times !

Had an amazing time at Sweet Lou's Cookies this past weekend! The two people who served us were the absolute sweetest!! (Almost as sweet as their cookies ☺️). The customer service here is amazing and I would totally go back just to see them again!! Food wise I was impressed, I had the chance to try their ice cream sundae that included their lime margarita sugar cookie, and two scoops of delicious ice cream! The ice cream was super creamy and refreshing and the cookie was so soft and light. I also tried their supershake which comes in an adorable glass milk container that can be returned for $2 at Sweet Lou's, Vincenzos or Sobeys! Their milkshakes were soooo creamy and not super sweet which was a bonus. I got the milkshake with some vanilla based ice cream, dark chocolate sauce and a funfetti cookie mixed it. I absolutely loved it and will be coming back for more!

Disappointed. We ordered from Skip the Dishes for the first time when I broke my arm. Excited for the delivery but was disappointed as they did not arrive warm as we expected. I ordered online and requested there to be a birthday message included with the order, as it was a gift for someone. They went above and beyond- making the effort to write nicely on the box and include some fun birthday extras! Such a nice surprise and thoughtful touch! The person who picked the order up at the location for me also noted how incredibly pleasant the gentleman working was. I didn’t get a chance to eat the cookies at all (as I ordered for a friend from here in Vancouver) but she said they were amazing. Definitely recommending this place to others back in my hometown. Yesterday we went for milkshake (your choice of cookie + icecream mixed into one delicious drink), a sundae (3 scoops of icecream + topping+ cookie) and an extra cookie (the one with the pretzel). Expensive cookies, YES! But worth it for the taste. I see they sell the ice cream sandwiches but I don't see the worth as they use the same size cookies for ice cream sandwiches. Kids size ice cream sandwiches. If they are bigger I would totally get one as others sell them in double size. Otherwise very good cookies. I am so happy to have discovered this business! They have a cookie for everyone - I have not tried one I haven't liked. They have other products available (hand-made cookie ice cream sandwich as well as hand-made milkshakes - which you can also add a cookie too!) which are also delicious options. Lou himself is a wonderful owner who you can tell is very passionate about his business. Each time I come, he is always eager to share stories and new products they are selling at the store. This place is so amazing, which is apparent by all the other reviews singing their praises. I'm here to add one more. Their cookies are fantastic, the ice cream in the cookie sandwich is high quality and deliciously creamy. Even the cookie dough base felt like they went above and beyond to keep a clean, neutral flavour so the extras can shine. They managed to reinvent the wheel in an even better way with their "classic" chocolate chip, which deserves a better title than classic. It's like the homemade apple pie of cookies, truly fantastic. I can't say enough how great this place is. I will certainly be getting more!

My cookies came with a gift from the makers of this wonderful company. They gave us a free chocolate milk. Which was amazing. They also gave us a few little box if cookies. I really didnt enjoy these cookies. I got an assortment of cookies and they all tasted the same except for the different add ins. This wouldnt be a problem if the base cookie had a good flavour. Given all the good reviews, I'm assuming I got a bad batch because these did not taste good at all!

Came here for the first time earlier in the week and I have never received service like this before. I felt welcomed right when I walked in the door from the most delightful couple. I ordered a strawberry milkshake and their classic chocolate cookie. The milkshake was delicious, my only critique was that I wish it were thicker. They made a little too much and instead of tossing it down the sink they gave me another cup with the extras! The cookie was soft and chewy. Delicious! 10/10 would recommend

I am very impressed with everything about this bakery. They are extremely professional with everything that they do. They have a variety of cookies that will satisfy all taste buds including adults, kids, those with a sweet tooth, those who like the sweet & salty combination, etc. I had my piano recital for my students today and I ordered 8 dozen cookies from them. We corresponded over email and the staff is extremely friendly and quick with responding to emails. They followed up the day of to confirm timing and even asked how we would like our order packaged which is above and beyond. They gave me a good deal since I was ordering a large order. The place where they had to drop the cookies was a bit tricky to find so they coordinated everything with my mom and husband quickly and efficiently while I was running the recital. The cookies arrived on time and were packaged nicely. Everyone including me LOVED the cookies. We ordered 96 cookies and there was only about 10 cookies left! I will definitely order from them again. Although, maybe a dozen all to myself! ;)

What a fantastic cookie shop! We've ordered cookies twice here and the staff have not only be friendly and helpful, but also generous. Both times we ordered, they gave us extra cookies beyond what we ordered for no extra cost. The last time, we had chosen our cookies and after picking out our dozen, we noticed that they had a new cookie, I'm guessing for the holidays as it was a gingerbread cookie. After commenting on the new cookie, they threw one into our box for us to try. On top of the excellent customer service, the cookies that we've tried have all been great. If you're looking to support a local business and have a sweet tooth, you can't go wrong with Sweet Lou's!

Nice looking store, however, I thought that during Covid times it would be mandatory to wear gloves while handling food or at least wash your hands. I paid with cash and the cashier then proceeded to put my cash in the register and then directly bypass washing her hands and pick up my 6 cookies and place them in the box with her hands. She did not wear gloves or wash them at all. Additionally, I also ordered ice cream and while scooping my ice cream, she used her fingers to transfer the scoop into the cup. I don’t typically leave reviews, but I was just shocked that wearing gloves and washing ones hands after handling cash was not mandatory.

This is the type of business people who are looking to support a local business should focus on. Lou works extremely long hours and makes exceptional cookies. They are always consistent and good. My wife and I try to order from here as much as we can. We recently had a minor mix up with our order and Lou corrected that very minor mix up with a huge fix. Sweet Lou's has the best tasting cookies, but most importantly has the best staff. Every time I go in I feel welcomed and taken care of. At one visit they ran out of one type of cookie, but said if I waited for ~15 minutes they'd have enough time to whip up the icing to make a new batch. Definitely a must try!

One of my favourite places in Waterloo. I had the pleasure of visiting Sweet Lou’s when it was just starting up. At the time Lou was only operating on food delivery applications, which I was not aware of. My friend and I had heard about the place and wanted to check it out. We ended up finding an address online and showed up around 10pm on a Friday night. The building was located near Victoria Park and when we arrived we were confused as it looked like the building was closed. We rang the doorbell and to our amaze a man (Lou) answered the door. We told him we were here for cookies and he told us that he operates only on food service applications but he said he didnt mind letting us in to order a cookie. He eventually gave us a tour of his kitchen and told us about his whole process. We discussed some new flavours he was going to be releasing and we ended up trying some of his best sellers. Lou is very passionate about what he does and it shows as his cookies are phenomenal. We ended up trying almost every flavour and there is not one my friend and I did not dislike, they were all amazing, along with the ice cream sandwiches. Lou recently moved onto Weber street and we were able to visit again and even one year later the cookies are amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a sweet tooth fix as the cookies are fresh, affordable and creative! Thanks again for everything Lou!

Delicious soft and chewy cookies! Loved the shop, atmosphere is great and Lou was hard at work too. The flavours are good - nice mix of classics and fun new ones. I really enjoyed the Lime Margarita, as I love citrus flavours, although I would have loved a bit more of that tequila flavour! Don’t forget to squeeze the lime piece on top. Got a half dozen and have enjoyed all flavours so far. I kept them in the fridge, just in the box it came with, and has kept soft and chewy for a few days! Even froze some and still good after you have it thaw out on the table. It comes in this cute box with a fun cookie card on it. Congrats on the store and for good products!
