Just Love Pie is one of my favourite cafes in uptown Waterloo. They have free refills on coffee and TO DIE FOR pies. They have large, small, and tart sized pies, so no matter your hunger level, you're set. I especially like their savoury butter chicken pie! They also have salads and sandwiches, smoothies, and pie milkshakes! Lots of seating, outlets, and wifi if you need to get work done. The staff are SO friendly and attentive. Sometimes they have pies for half off! It's usually very quiet inside, but don't be intimidated if you're the only one there, it's a lovely spot to sit for a while!

Nice staff and ambience. WARNING for vegans and vegetarians- their pies contain lard (white fat derived from fatty parts of the pig). I would urge the staff to inform potential customers about this because in many parts of the world, consuming lard in unthinkable. Thanks

I was waiting for the LRT and decided to pop in here to grab dinner. Tried their tortiere pie and a chocolate brownie tart - both were lovely! The tortiere is very mild and the tart was perfectly chocolatey. Great pastry, too - flaky but not too crispy. Can't wait to try a butter tart next time I hear they're fabulous!

After our first visit last weekend, we had a concern with one of the sweet pies we purchased but hadn't opened yet (it had been 72 hours). I sent an email to the business to ask about my concern and the owner responded almost immediately with some information, a stated desire to make us happy, and her phone number so I could call to discuss. I wasn't able to make that call that day and she emailed me overnight, following up, asking again if she could resolve our issue. I took her up on it and I'm so glad. In our two total visits, we have tried the following: -Steak and Mushroom pie (Very yummy! Our five year old devoured hers.) -Chicken Curry pie (not spicy; lots of flavour) -Lamb pie (On the blander side; would be great to have mint jelly to go with) -Butter Chicken pie (totally delicious, not spicy, not too wet, which I was concerned it might be) -Apple pie (delicious, tasting fresh and "real". Lots of apple in there!) -Bumbleberry crumble (SO good! Usually crumble is too sweet, but this one wasn't and it complimented the sweet/tart flavours of the berries perfectly!) -Apple Caramel tart (Delicious! A new go-to for sure!) -Raisin Butter Tart (The best butter tarts we've had anywhere. And we attend butter tarts festivals. Sweet without hurting your teeth. It doesn't feel like "too much", which is a common problem in the butter tarts world.) We will absolutely be back! The pies alone would have brought us back (and those tarts!!), but the superior customer service we received was above and beyond and I'm pleased that Just Love Pie looked out for us the way they did even when I had dropped the ball on following through.

The BEST pies I’ve ever had. The crust is soooo delicious. The chicken pot is a classic and my personal fave. They have a rotating menu so there’s always different flavours to try. I particularly love their meal deals. For just $20 my husband and I get get a personal pie each, a generously portioned side dish (recommend the roasted veggies!) and the most decadent butter tarts ever!

There's a student special on Wednesdays! The Meat Pie Meal that includes a meat pie with a side salad, regularly priced at $9.95 is discounted to $8.99 and comes with a free tart. Their "Pie Milkshake" is milk, ice cream and a slice of pie blended up. The ambiance is delightful, lots of natural light, quiet (no music :O) and comfortable. The people are really nice too! I had the Skor Tart and that was deliciously wonderful :) They also have free wifi (password: justlovepie) which makes it a very nice place to study/work.

An amazing little place with comfortable seating... a fresh taste of savory pies (next time I'll try a sweet one) and juicy salads. Down to earth pleasant and fast service, very reasonably priced. Very conveniently located in uptown Waterloo at the atrium building on Erb street. If you enter from the atrium's main entrance, go down the stairs to the lower level and past the door that leads to the parking lot entrance, the place will be on your left. If you're driving, there's plenty of parking space in the area.

My week-long craving for chicken pot pie was finally satisfied after visiting Just Love Pie. The pie was amazing. I find some places make the filling too salty, but not this one. It was perfectly salted and peppered, and the crunchiness of green peas and carrots complemented the soft, gravy-chicken-onion filling very well. The crust was of a perfect balance between flakey and tender; it's flakey enough to cancel Friday night dinner plans with you last minute, yet tender enough to take you out to brunch on Sunday to make up for it. For those partial towards "mouthfeel" as an important criterion for how good a food is, what can I say... the pie feels great in my mouth. Overall, I give this place a 9/10, and an extra +1 rating for being literally up the road from my workplace, making impulse desires for pies easily fulfilled when I'm done my shift.

I walked in on a cold Monday morning and was greeted with the delicious smell of pie baking in the oven. I ordered the butter chicken pie and soup. Its Monday so I got $2 off from their promotion. It was $9 total with discount. Oh my goodness this pie. The crust is ever so flaky and the butter chicken filling is so warm and creamy. The chicken melts in your mouth. Holy. The soup was a homemade tomato soup. But focus on the pie. This is the best meat pie you'll ever try. Go to Justlovepie! And they have wifi so stay a while.

I pick up lunch at Just Love Pie a few times a month, usually ordering a savoury pie (Sunday Roast is a personal favourite.) I recently picked up two sweet pies for dessert for a family gathering and everyone raved about how great they were, how amazing the crust was, and how perfect the fillings were. I love this place. They have absolutely mastered pie crust. I don't think I will ever attempt to make a homemade pie again. The chicken pot pies are amazing, with an excellent ratio of filling (with good-sized chicken chunks) to crust. Their butter tarts and pecan tarts also taste amazing. I do wish that the filling in these was a bit less runny, but I will continue to buy them regardless. I've also had their apple pie, which was also great. If the sweetness was reduced just a touch, it would be perfect.

Good pies. The short staff member was not very friendly and seemed quite impatient with my decision-time. However, I was the only customer in the shop on a Monday evening (I believe) and there should have been no reason for attitude or a cold shoulder. I suffer from social anxiety and this behaviour could have really soiled my day. In the past I have felt very welcome but I was not met with the same hospitality I am associate with this business. I think the name on her uniform began with a M or N but I am not sure. This happened a number of weeks ago (before Christmas) but I felt the need to be vocal about what I encountered. Friendliness towards customers is extremely important and I believe that this should be prioritized when training workers. In summary, the pie was great and the atmosphere is usually great, however the treatment from the short staff member was very abrupt and unfriendly. I do intend on removing this review once it is seen and acknowledged but until them I will keep it up. Thank you. Edit: I have removed the initial rating and I have replaced it with how I think you should be rated. However, while I am going to leave my comment up, I would like to thank you for your quick response and overall acknowledgement of my criticism. Thank you.

It was practically perfect! My elderly mother and I came in for lunch earlier and we enjoyed our pie meal combination that came with tea! The pie was fantastic, some of the best I've ever had, and my mother agreed. The butter tarts are the best in town. If there was one thing I could change, it would be the signs. The chalk boards were difficult for my mother to read, and I must admit, I had difficulty as well. There is several of them and lots of information all over the place. I do however want to commend the staff as they were very helpful. The taller staff member read the boards out to us so we could make our decision. We look forward to coming back and trying different pies and tarts.

One of my favourite places in uptown waterloo. Found the place by accident... Parked the car, looked up at the sign that read "just love pie" and i thought to myself Yes, yes I do! Lots of selection of sweet desert pies and snack size tarts to yummy savory pies like steak and mushroom or butter chiken or bacon macn cheeze which was amazing by the way. A deffinite staple in uptown for anyone who is a fan of pie.

Delicious pies! We tried the Key Lime pie and the Boston Cream Pie. They were attentive enough to note to us that the pie crust has lard in it, which might make it not Halal or Kosher. They suggested that we order a pie with a vegetarian crust. It needs a 24 hour notice, but it would be Halal and it won't taste different from the regular crust. The order can be made by phone. They do provide savoury pies and other dishes, but we haven't tried these. Yet! Free parking is available next to the building.

Excellent pie at a reasonable price. A small pie (maybe 5" in diameter) was roughly 6$ including tax, and well-made, too! The atmosphere is also great, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's a very relaxed atmosphere. And if you're a student, they have a Wednesday special where you get 20% off for lunch/early dinner. I'll definitely be coming back.

I can't say enough good things about this place. The sweet pies and tarts that I have tried have all been fantastic (key lime, lemon raspberry, peach pies, skor and plain butter tarts, apple caramel and chocolate fudge brownie tarts). The prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly and helpful. They also have a family dinner deal, which is excellent value above the already great prices, where you get a meat pie, a salad, and four tarts. We had the steak and mushroom pie and a pear walnut salad. The pastry was flaky, the meat tender and full of flavour, and the salad was made to order (not sitting pre-made) with fresh produce and generous toppings. My kids both love pies and tarts as much as I do and they always ask for pies for their birthdays rather than cakes (why wouldn't you???). This is our go to place. So if you're looking for top notch quality pies, spending the little extra and passing over the grocery store bakery is absolutely worth it here. Highly recommended and I can't wait to return to try all the other flavours. If you're set on a particular kind, just don't forget to call and order ahead.

I had my first taste of the pastries from here and loved them! We had 3 different savoury pies and loved them all, as well as a raspberry pie and butter tarts. The butter tarts were a little runnier than I personally like, but they tasted great and I am not entirely opposed to licking off my fingers!

There were no vegetarian options for a pastry lunch. The quiche, which I thought for sure would come as vegetarian option, was only available in ham and cheese. This was a big disappointment. I do not want to settle for a salad as an option for being vegetarian. I had a veggie wrap, which was good, but it was very small, and had very little feta cheese in it (therefore not enough protein). At $9.95, I felt it was over priced. My companions had meat pies and enjoyed those. I was not happy with my meal, and won’t go back.

absolutely love this cute bakery. The cherry pie was the best I have ever had, it was soo good that i had to call the owner and let her know just how good I thought it was! The staff is really nice too, the owner will make a special made to order vegan crust upon request! This is my new favourite pie place will definitely be going back!
