You will see the information of real people like you who know the services and products of Sabletine Fine Pastries Inc (Bakery) in Waterloo (Canada).
Nowadays this firm gets a rating of 4.3 stars out of 5 and the score was based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is quite positive, and it's based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can conclude that the score is quite credible. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to place reviews when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Bakery belongs to the category of Bakery.
Bought some macarons. They were awful. The icing had a rancid taste and the meringue was soggy. For that price they should have been perfect. Never shopping there again.
A cute, quaint spot to relax with a cup of coffee/tea and watch the world go by as you enjoy the quality desserts. The atmosphere was very relaxing with quite a few spots to sit and enjoy your treats. There is background music playing …
A wonderful little bakery. The croissant I got here was by far the best I have ever tasted. I also picked up a baguette as well. It wasn't particularly well formed but it was delicious. The eclairs were pretty and delicious. This place is worth the trip (and calories!) Note that the bakery is closed on Mondays and can only have on customer in the store at a time during COVID so I had to wait outside for about 10 minutes to be served.
Amazing pastry shop. The aroma of fresh baked pastry hits you first, then the glistening goodies behind the glass. A wonderful variety of sweet and savory. Just don't look at the price tag. You're going to pay that for a Starbucks anyways, and they'll go great together!
Exquisite little French bake shop with friendly staff. Highly recommend for special occasion desserts or treating yourself to a buttery croissant.
When Sabletine is good, it’s GREAT but it’s been inconsistent. Unfortunately the croissants and breads are often overdone to the point of a significant part of them being dried out and near burnt. It’s a real shame because if you can get them done well the taste is amazing and just melts in your mouth.
This is where my wife and I go to treat ourselves! They have a huge array of perfect pastries done in classic style. We love to get quiches for brunch with madeleines, and then we'll get some coffee eclairs for later. It's pricey but certainly not overpriced, because you definitely get what you pay for!
I guess if you're going to a French pastry shop you should expect to receive a rude response by the (owner? manager?) when you ask if they have soy/oat/almond/any plant based milk. (I asked, and was met with an abrupt "No.") The pastries …
Amazing pastries. Pie not so much. Very shallow and over done.
Their pastries are phenomenal! I especially love their berry fruit tarts! They have a great variety of sweet and savoury foods which doesn't exactly make the decision easier but you'll walk out satisfied.
A staple in the KW area high quality bakery with many choices on offer. Their hazelnut croissants are excellent
Excellent variety of deliciousness from sweet to savory! The quiche is excellent, the pastries are top knotch... This is not your average bakery, this is a true Patisserie and the prices reflect that. Not cheap, but worth the price. Dangerous having this so close to home.
EDIT 2: Responding to the owner, it's easy to see why all the low ratings are about customer service, management refuses to accept liability and change employee attitudes. By far the poorest service in this region. EDIT: I spoke to the manager and apparently, picking up by the pastry liner is the normal thing to do. She was very sarcastic and condescending about my concerns and said, "We will ensure you have a stellar experience next time." Heard lovely reviews so I decided to stop by to pick up some pastries for the long weekend. My first impression was that the front staff was standoffish and had trouble understanding what I was ordering (despite being a native English speaker), but was friendly to other patrons. I was also not pleased at the way she used her bare hands to grab the pastries I ordered after handling cash. Even Tim Hortons uses some sort of barrier or tongs to grab food items... come on. She just threw my pastries in the box without care (they overlapped each other) and sealed the box. Like wow. I'm shocked at how awful the service is! No matter how good the pastries and cookies I got were, I don't think I'll be coming back to support this attitude.
I ordered 50 gingerbread house kits for a work event. The kits were fantastic! They included the cookies, ingredients and instructions for making icing, icing bag, and candy decorations. We all built them over Meet and had a fantastic time! Then I ate mine with my family and it was delicious! Soft and spicy!
This is a sweet little Pastries in the heart of Waterloo. It had a good variety of French delicacies. I travelled a long distance to visit here. I would expect that the order I placed will be as it is in the display. The …
Consistently high-quality, French pastries. The almond croissants are better than the ones I had in Paris. The wafer thin chocolate chip cookies are perfect for making ice cream sandwiches. I go in to pick up four pastries and I always leave with a big, white pastry box full, with a little paper bag of extras. There are mini, bite-sized options to pair with a wheatberry salad or quiche, family sized cakes or pies, as well as an option for individual assorted cakes, squares, and more.
Our go-to-it place for fine pastries to accompany good coffee with old friends. Friendly. Exquisite and every-day baking. Some take-out.
???? An Uptown Gem! Delectable treats, salads and sandwiches. Cute homey decor! Dog friendly water dish in summer. Definitely missing in store these days.
Cute interior, okay-ish service and a great selection of pastries. Their grapefruit macaron was a winner! The owners are super nice and very well informed about all things patisserie. …
Stumbled here and found some delicious treats. A wide variety of options for the sweet tooth but also some nice croissants, cookies. Only challenge is that you only have 1 person in at a time so it may be a wait- but they have an outside menu to help you make a quick choice.
With being so close to home I often want to come here and when I do it reminds me of why I choose not to. The staff are consistently unfriendly which is unfortunate. A simple smile and acknowledgement towards customers can go a long way. The bakery and coffee are delicious. It’s sad to see that there are other reviews about customer service and the problem hasn’t been resolved. In such a difficult time it’s important to support local to help these business thrive and when you aren’t feeling welcomed it sadly disappoints.
Tastiest, most authentic French pastries. I'd walk a mile barefoot for their Pain au Chocolat.
Good coffee. Pastries and cookies are excellent. Atmosphere is what you would expect at a French Patisserie. They have lunch and salads that are worth trying but not always available on the weekends. Strong recommendation. 5 stars.
I love this place! Everything I have tried was just delicious... and I really like the frozen croissants that I can bake at home. Our office had a variety of sweets for a Christmas party and they were beyond fabulous.
For the price I paid I expected my cookies to not be burnt on the bottom. The bottom wasn't visible to the customer so I suspect they were just trying to get rid of them. I felt very safe with the 1 person limit though but I don't think it warrants a second star.
Alas, what was once a delightful and excellent place to buy dessert and other items has become a very anti-customer business. A sign on their door says to stop being mean to their customers. This should give them pause to consider they have …
Everything I got tasted amazing. (Cinnamon buns, chocolate eclairs, chocolate almond croissant). Brought some back to Toronto for my coworkers and they were all asking where this place was. On looking at other reviews, I'm kind of surprised because I visited twice in a couple days and the staff were friendly both times.
The pastries are delicious but in all of the times that I’ve visited, the workers have been rude and standoffish. I do not feel welcome here which is something that is a dealbreaker for me in the stores that I shop at. Obviously, they don’t need to be nice or welcoming to customers, it is their store and their product. However, I think a lot of people would return and appreciate it if some of the staff made an effort to just be kind.
I love this place it has the best chocolate chip cookies in the world..plus lots of other fine desserts. The staff is friendly and always smells amazing in the store.. I recommend everyone to give a try.
I have been to sabletine a few times (trying to go on a day with fresh product, which I now know is an impossible task), and I can never seem to get a tart that isn't made with moldy fruit. It's especially frustrating because they package their products before you can have a good look at them. If you do decide to go here, I'd open the box while still in the store to get a look at your product before you leave. I had added a couple pictures in the pictures section. The mold is on both the blueberries and the raspberries. I would also like to mirror what others have said about customer service, I feel like an imposition when I go into sabletine. Never like a guest.
Only one person in the shop at a time, understandably, as the space is small. Lovely baked goods, very tempting, especially the pastries and artisan breads.
I love Sabletine - the food is usually amazing and the little cafe is adorable. While it deserves 5 stars normally I have recently eaten there twice on a Sunday and the food was terrible (stale and soggy). At best the food tasted like …
LOVE this place. I regularly will come by for a latte, some macarons or a pain au chocolat. The staff are friendly and they have variety of sweet treats, breads, pies, and quiches. I ordered a pie online for pickup one day and was running late and thought I might not make it to the store in time for closing. They called me to let me know that someone would be around anyway even if I was a little late. Would 100% recommend.
Love my opera gluten free cake and the espresso coffee with it. Christmas cookies and cakes are the best, I highly recommend them. Must try them this winter season !
Sabeline recently moved from uptown to my neighbourhood, so I thought I'd pop in and try a couple of things. Well, first up was the Eclair and damn that's tasty!! Not too sweet but just right. I'll be going back for more soon enough! Looking forward to the Creme Brulee tart later!!
There's something about local shops I really love. The staff come off very pleasant and authentic. I bought a cake here for my friend's bday and it was oh so good. I will definitely come back for more in the near future. Also, the interior …
Delicious leek, bacon and cheddar quiche, perfect tourtiere, amazing chocolate-chocolate buche de noel and indulgent pain au chocolat. We enjoyed all of these over the holidays and every item was perfect. The store is really well run, particularly within COVID restrictions. Highly recommend.
I had a great experience here, I felt bad for the girl serving me though because she missed part of my order (which isn't the end of the world) but she looked like she was ready to get yelled at. Definitely will be back to try more things :)
Very delicious pastries! Loving the new location. The chocolate chip cookies are my fave.
If you want to treat yourself or a friend to the best French baked goods ever, visit Sablétine. Kate’s ability to combine flavours, whether in a quiche, a madeleine, a gateau, or any other tempting item is amazing. Her whole wheat rye boule is our favourite bread. And the display of all these yummies is a picture.
