The lady working the counter was super sweet however the tuxedo cake I got was very disappointing. The sponge cake was dry with no flavour and the creams coated your mouth but not in a good way. For the price you are better off making your own

Nougat's location uptown Waterloo in the shops at waterloo Town Square makes it a great place to pop into when you are out shopping for other things, but I am sure also is reflected in high rent costs and thus higher than average prices. The service was really friendly and helpful. I ordered some jam jam cookies, a slice of chocolate roll cake and a slice of strawberry pineapple cake. The lady gave me two slices of the pineapple cake for the price of one which was wonderful but should have been a warning. The cake had obviously been sitting for a while and had dried out quite a bit. The flavour was overwhelmingly sweet without much to balance it and so after we split one piece neither of us wanted more. The roll cake was wonderfully chocolate and less cloyingly sweet but had obviously just come out of the freezer which affected the texture of the cake. The cookies were good but no better than I have had at other bakeries. The food wasn't bad, but there are so many other small bakeries in town that I have enjoyed more that were both cheaper and fresher. Edit: If I could I would bump this to a 3.5 because their no yeat sourdough bread was delicious and actually had a tang to it.

We had the tiramisu. It was amazing! Will purchase that again for sure. The lady fingers were crisp and delicious. Bonus points for not being too sweet either. So good!

Cute Little bakery with some tasty treats. We were looking for a place to pick up some desserts for a dinner party late on a saturday night, and we came across Nougat. They had a pretty little display of different desserts and treats in their case. We purchased several of their tarts. The price was about $25 for 6 tarts,which we do not have a problem with. We are willing to pay a decent price for quality goods. The tarts were very well presented - beautifully decorated, and had a very nice appearance. The flavours were very good as well. We tried a variety of flavours and all tasted really good.

Went here for a casual snack/dessert on a weekday. Ordered the European cheesecake and the lady in the store at that time graciously gave us a 2 for the price of 1 deal. To our surprise, we went home to try the cheesecake only to find that it was hard as a nut. We were given 2 pieces of stale cheesecake, probably been lying there for more than 3 days after being prepared. We couldn't slice a piece of the cake even with a spoon. Unexpectedly bad experience. Surely will not be visiting this place again. Do check your food before leaving the shop to make sure it's fresh.

The cakes were on the pricier side. So I thought they will be tasty. But I was highly disappointed. I got one black forest cake and another one whose name I don't remember but I was told it was a Polish cake. The sponges were super dry. I was expecting a cherry glaze in the black forest cake but all I got was cherry jam. It ruined my palette. I decided to visit the bakery after reading the good reviews but I was highly dissatisfied with the outcome. I am not going there again. 1* is for the lady at the counter. She was so polite. The cakes don't deserve any points.

Many precautions are clearly being taken in regards to the pandemic and I really appreciate this! Beautiful, classic European pastries. Love the éclairs, chocolate tarts, and berry cake. You pretty much can't go wrong here. Great coffee, too.

It was our first time here so we ordered a few things to try. The milk chocolate and salted caramel tart was very good. The something bomb (some sort of jelly donut cut in half and filled with amaretto cream) was so so. The carrot cake was stale and tasteless. The apricot cheesecake was bad. If you do decide to go the tarts are worth it but I'd avoid everything else.

massive selection of desserts - the huge amount of variety makes this place pretty awesome. I've tried about 15 different desserts from here, and they range from good to incredible... nothing was disappointing! location is pretty central and I managed to find parking. it's a nice shop with a lovely atmosphere. service is very polite and friendly. prices are a touch steep, but given the quality and huge variety, it's entirely justified. My new go-to for desserts. Recommended!

Apricot cheesecake is more like a cake. Dry and tasteless. Orange chocolate cake is nasty lacking flavour and icing tastes cheap and sugarless. Vanilla raspberry cake is the same dry, tasted old and somewhat hard Icing no flavoir. We also bought the 2$ week old bargain bag of pretzels and these were the highlight of our purchases. Pretty pathetic considering the prices.

All kinds of baked goods with an European influence. We had several pastries and took a cake to a dinner, it was a suv success. The vanilla sponge was feast and it had to delicious fillings, raspberry and my favourite passion fruit. The store has a few small tables to enjoy your sweet with a coffee.

Pretty good place to get cakes, tarts, pastries etc. in Waterloo. Cute, unique items for sale as well. The desserts could be a little fresher. I had a carrot cake slice where some of the carrot bits in the cake were greenish, not sure if it was mold or some food colouring got on it? Taste was not bad though, cream cheese icing could use a little more icing. Their German Apple Slice seemed to have sat for several days as the apple slices were fairly dried up. Ordered a cake online from them before and it was pretty good. It's very good for Waterloo but cannot compare to bakeries in Toronto.

The desserts are delicious- it’s a nice place to stop in for a coffee and a treat. The reason I only give 3 stars is because the woman who served us seemed quite unpleasant to be serving customers. I would give the desserts 5 stars but sadly the customer service 1 star.

The atmosphere is quite nice, and all the baked good look incredible. Unfortunately, on my visit, the cake that I had (chocolate and banana torte) tasted as of it had been sitting for a few days. The frosting was quite tough and gummy. Perhaps it was just the particular kind I had. For the price, there are probably better bakeries in the area.

This place was a real treat. The bakery is very clean, and the decoration is very thoughtful. I had a slice of apple pie, and half a cherry/ cheese strudel. The prices are around Starbucks prices, but the taste was so much better! This price is well worth the price!

Called 3 times, to both locations to see if I could buy a whole cake...........no one answered the phone at all, simply ignored it. Went elsewhere, they had it on the shelf, left a big tip and a huge thank you. If this place doesn't want my money, I'll go elsewhere.

A heavenly, delectable shop for those with a weakness for enticing, sweet treats! Nougat also carries a wide array of European candies, pasta sauces, syrups, jams, juices and sparkling waters. Breads, rolls and an assortment of danishes and strudel make this a must in Uptown Waterloo!
