I don’t make it a habit to have sweets, but the coconut buns & cinnamon buns from here are so good!! I might try some other items one day, but for now im hooked on those!

One of my favourite Asian Bakery in Vancouver, I come here regularly for their chicken pies and cocktail (coconut) buns. Delicious and reasonable prices - highly recommended!

Brittany L

Their take on the Japanese cheesecake is really similar to the one from Metrotown. 10/10 recommend :)

Amazing pastries! I dropped in here after work and ended up getting a few coconut and custard buns. They were soft yet chewy, just the way I like them. The prices were fair as well.

Came this evening to take a look, ended up buying 7 different pastries! I’ve had two of them already tonight and WOW!!! So fresh, soft, just the right amount of sweetness, and absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be back.

Best value for Portuguese buns freshly baked onsite by 930am..haven't tried the other items but the buns have a medium hardness to the crust...I know some prefer a very hard crust

Terrible place, rude people.

Staff is nice, but the place itself is kind of dirty and rundown. In terms of baked goods, its pretty okay. I would opt to buy the bread from the supermarket across instead.

Thank you so much for this amazing cake. Not only was it cute but also delicious. I got a cake last year from a different Bakery and it cost me double with 2 tiers and less colour. The other Bakery also didn't taste great kind of bitter due to food coloring. 1st Avenue Bakery did an amazing job and am much happier with this cake. I will certainly order from them again highly recommend.

Staff was rude , dont buy them sausage bread they give yoy only1/4 very very thin and all fried thing is smell like bad oil

MsJwsl

Terrible customer service and mediocre pastries. I have visited this place multiple times and always am guaranteed the worst customer service every time I go there. Especially one lady in particular who works there. I'm all for shopping locally and supporting the community. But honestly the way they have spoken to me and my family on multiple occasions made us feel terrible for even buying from them.

Really good cakes, the taro cake had fresh taro frosting. One of the best bakeries around. Sometimes at night around closing time they bundle pastry buns and discount them.

A hidden gem nestled in a great location between North Burnaby and Downtown, this bakery is sweet! A great variety of very fresh and authentic baked snacks at a very good value for money as well as a solid veggie-catering range, whether sweet or savory they have your tastebuds covered. The staff are also super friendly and willing to provide any information about the products. Opening hours of this joint are super convenient and they also do discounts on day old baked snacks which are still very fresh tasting. I love how they also have a great variety of red Bean, matcha snacks as well as thumbprint cookies and value of buying a variety so you can mix and match. I got a Red Bean Paste Egg Yolk (Dan Huang Su (蛋黄酥) which is my new favorite all time and literally tasted incredibly awesome!! As well as a lemon cookie which was also super yummy. Love this place, support local!!

Really good buns and egg tarts!! You get some of that traditional HK feel which is nice. I always come here for Asian buns and snacks.

HomerTheFatzo

Really amazing buns and some other HK style buns. One of my best pastries that they’ve baked is the apple turnover. Lots of sugar and apples in it.

I love their food, but this time I got the "Egg Tart" is quite disappointing. It is either been for a few day, or it is just under cooked. Throw away with 2 bite

Great selection, quite reasonable prices, really enjoying various flavours of Chinese buns, though that's not all there is. One of my favorites is chocolate eclairs; delish!

Shanny Rann

Century eggs pastry is quite special.

I have come here a number of times to try various pastries. I have had at least five or six different types and all of them have been quite delicious. You can especially be happy with their curry pastry and their pork pastry. Do note though that the pastries can be somewhat greasy.

Antonia Corby

Best Portuguese buns in BC!

This is my first and last time visit to this bakery. There's a long hair in the bread sandwich! I would have eaten it if the pineapple oil hadn't fallen off! That's disgusting!

Small selection, but yummy food. Very nice ladies working there. Their "day old" breads are still very fresh.

Disorganized. Ordered a cake a month a go, the canned apricots had a foul smell, like an old gym sock yet there was no obvious defect on the apricots except a mild bruising (never knew this was a thing). I had to throw the cake out and called them the next day. They asked why I did not bring the cake back and eventually agreed to give me a cake for 50% off. I ordered a second cake on the phone and mentioned the 50% discount I was promised on my next cake and they had no idea what I was talking about but eventually agreed. I ordered my cake for a 2 pm pickup and showed up at 4 pm and was told to take a seat. I mentioned that the pickup was for 2 pm and they simply stated it was busy without even offering an apology or having the sense to call me! I waited 10 minutes and walked out the door. I don't care for my discounted cake when a place has no regard for the customer. I was a long time customer but not anymore - there's plenty of other options. Do not be fooled by the google reviews either, take a look on Yelp.

Infinerdy

They bake all day but the more popular items run out from time to time. On weekends, I get good selection about an hour after they open. Convenient location.

Garretty Hm

Advertises cappucino, but only has drip coffee. Maybe it's just down for repairs, but their espresso machine appears resigned in it's current role as a shelf. Second time I've been through here, staffer was still not very friendly and seemed annoyed I couldn't understand her English easily, but we got through it. All of the tables were pretty dirty. Got a cheese danish and drip coffee while waiting for T&T to open. Got a chunk of plastic in my coffee, and the combo - while somewhat tasty - gave me a bit of a stomachache. I'll have to try the coconut buns and cheesecake that other reviewers mentioned for the bakery side of things. I don't recommend this place as a café... Head to the bubble tea place across the plaza instead.

Sat outside for 30 minutes .. was there for 9… phoned the number and a guy answers asking what I want.. I said is this the right bakery.. Ya ya ya Portuguese buns 10 o clock. Maybe change the hours online or put the correct hours on the door in English.. so people aren’t waiting!

Jason S

Enough is enough! This is the 4th time they tried to overcharge us and everytime they blame it on their cash register. Either they are being dishonest or they can't train their staff to use the cash register properly. If you want to charge more, simply put that on the price tag.

Bill Tso

Best Portuguese buns in town. I've seen Wally Burgers come pick up their buns occasionally.
