Can't go wrong with any of the choices. Get there early as they sell out probably within the first hour they are open. There is a maximum each person can get.

I have never had these wonderful crossiants in my life, I would love to call this place a LITTLE GERMANY

Worth the hype. Croissants are layered and flaky, with an exterior that shatters and a moist, light and chewy interior. I think the pain au chocolate is even better- the extra humidity of the chocolate makes the contrast between the crust and the interior even more enjoyable. The only other place I can compare it to in the GTA is Ma Maison in Etobicoke, which produces an even more buttery croissant that's smaller and not as chewy. Both are perfection, so go try each of them!

Jeremy Chung

Amazing baked goods. Haven't been disappointed on any of the rotating products they have each week.

Karina

Home of the best flaky baked goodness in Toronto. Their Kouing Amann is crunchy on the outside and a touch salty from the salted butter, absolutely delicious. They have seasonal pastries as well and items change from week to week. They do run out early. Better to come early for more choice. Try the cinnamon croissant as well. The crunchy layers of cinnamon and sugar are memorable. Oh, and the coffee's amazing as well. Perfect stop on a weekend morning stroll in Cabbagetown. Edit: A little disappointed by some inconsistencies I noticed from week to week. Usually the cinnamon croissant is flaky buttery and delicious. Sometimes I've gotten dry ones with a dough that wasn't even flaky at all and didn't have that hint of buttery-ness.

Roxy H

Their baked goods are comparable to what you would get in paris. So amazingly good!

Jacquie Young-Sterling

BEST croissants in Toronto, if you can get your hands on some. Get there at opening, be prepared to wait in line

Best croissants anywhere.

Overall great flavor and superb freshness. 4 stars only because my croissant was very oily... Don't judge me, people :) I love butter&fat (because that is where all the flavor is), but that one time I've made a trip here - croissants were very oily. Apple danish was very good, but again I tasted too much butter in the mix.

Pierce Golar

Beautiful croissants. Found this little gem last week and I will be making many more trips here!

Jane Banh

Amazing pastry! I've only tried the croissant and cinnamon bun, and they were fantastic. Perfect crisp and airiness. The favours are on point. It's a good and bad thing Tasso isn't open everyday, otherwise my waistline would be in big trouble.

By far, the best chocolate croissants that I have ever had - and believe me, I have had a lot. The croissant was buttery goodness and the chocolate was evenly spread throughout the croissant. Be sure to go early because the quantities are limited. By 10 am, they only had a few pastries left and we were lucky to even get 2.

It's good to be near the front of the line! The first time I went they sold out with about 6 people ahead of me! And so worth lining up...

Jo Jock

Michael Mikhaiel

Best croissant in the city. Will be back earlier in the morning for their kouign amman.

Heather Gandre

Best croissants outside of France. Get there early, they sell out! They do except cards, so it's not cash only.

Benoit Germain

Best croissants in town, Nuff said

Paula Jaksic

Best croissants in Toronto, hands down

Blaine Pearson

Croissants from heaven and good, strong coffee.

Jessica Nagy

Fantastic, fresh baked croissant and other treats. Only wish they were open more often! Make sure to get there early and get in line to avoid missing out.

I’m pretty sure that if you died and was walking along the streets of heaven, it would smell like this place when you come through the doors! Oh, it’s such a magical way to start off the morning! The hubs and I went here in our way back to the states. Here we both got the pain au chocolate and shared the following-chaussons au pommes, kouign amann, and a cinnamon bun. All which were devoured on the same day! (I’m not even mad about this.) Each were flaky, buttery, light and with a crunch when you bite into them. But the main thing was, they were an out of body experience with each bite. There is a limit to how many you can purchase-9. But I’m not going to fault them, cause I see that they want to share the hard work that they crafted so hard to do! Come and get some coffees and just do as the French and enjoy what life has to offer you. And maybe today you’ll take in the day a little slower.

Clarence Yeung

By an hour in they're almost sold out, understandably so. Go try it! Will be back for their kouign amann

Best croissants and pastries I’ve ever had!! The crunch, the chew, buttery perfection! The latte was delicious too.

Ross Anthony

Yannick Lallement

Textures are really good but the dough is way, WAY too salty. After eating a chocolate croissant, I feel like a goat munching on a salt stone. Bit disappointing.

Lauren Skelly

Holly Zhou

Best croissant I've had in Toronto! Crunchy yet flaky and buttery in the centre. Kouign Amann was also absolutely delightful.

Jordan Dotson

This place is awesome! Beware, there is no sign out front (I walked by it three times before "giving up" and walking into "this" bakery and then realizing it was the one I was looking for in the first place) and there is no seating (just enough room to walk up to counter to order and go) BUT don't let it deter you! Best croissant I've ever had. Buttery, flaky, soft inside, crunchy layers outside... just perfect. And their cafe latte was good too. I will go here every time I visit Toronto!

Amos Boratto

Best pastry in Toronto! End of.

Rick Chander

Amazing chocolate croissant. Get there early they go fast!!!

Marie Leclerc

Exceptional look, texture and taste. Not too cooked, not too buttery just enough of everything. Great execution. I just hope they will produce more as the process of reserving and the short window to pick up makes it complicated.

Jonas Brandon

The best bakery (croissants, danish, canelé) in Toronto... no question. You just have to get there early and before I do because (as a micro bakery) they often sell out and I'm often to blame ;)

Paul Left

Very very good pastries. It's a must. I find it hard to admit it but this bakery is out of Montreal's league. The kouign-amann are extremely delicate, the cinnamon rolls so tender that you could deflower them like roses, and the croissants have only the right amount of butter which is a lot to say these days.

Jeffrey Burt

Amazing baked goods and very friendly owners

Chet Zhong

Most flaky buttery pastries in the city. Worth waking up early for.

Peter Hadfield

On my quest to find the best croissant in Toronto, so far this is #1 for me. It’s best out competition in Leslieville, Kensington, and north York. The croissants from Tasso are even good if you freeze em and heat them up later!

Josh Henderson

Claude Richard

5 stars with honours! Small quantities prepared 3 times a week, clearly a labor of love, get there half an hour before it opens if you want to make sure there's going to be some left for you to purchase! By far the absolute best croissants and pastries in the city.

Andrew

Let me start off by saying that I appreciate any business that is making good pastry,as a baker myself,I admire the the look of the different types of pastry they had to offer and how they are layered, you can see every individual Layer, the sign of a true professional. That being said I was disappointed with the chewiness of each individual pastry as I ordered one of each to try it tasted better the next day when I put it in the oven as it became a bit more crispier.I wish them the best and hope they succeed making their pastry even better.

Sam Javanrouh

Andrew Hui

Best croissant on this side of North America. They sell out quickly so get there early.

Ryan Ayres

Wow! The Chausson Aux Pommes, the Pain Au Chocolate, and the Natural Croissants WOW! This boutique Bakery is the crown jewel of Toronto! Yes the Latte was so smooth!

Tasso is a unique and special bakery. Going to this small shop is an experience all on its own. You can expect to stand outside in a line for a bit before getting in but that’s part of the excitement and a telltale sign that something special is inside! The pain chocolate was my absolute favorite which paired beautifully with the latte I ordered. The texture was exquisitely flakey, light and buttery. It’s a good thing I’m from out of town otherwise I could see myself over-indulging on these delectable goodies.

Nadia McNairn

Best pastries in the city, great coffee, and extremely friendly owners. Heavenly. Seriously, nothing in the city compares to Tasso. Love this place!

Ali Salamat

A worthy trip in Toronto. Visit completely by chance and well worth it. Small place. One in and one out. Charming to say the least

Believe me, I'm from Paris : their croissants are awesome !

Kelly Robson

Absolutely the best French pastries in Toronto -- no comparison. Only open Friday Saturday, Sunday from 8:30 until they sell out.

Evan Walsh

Run by a very friendly couple. Always different and delicious pastries to try. And they rotate through locally roasted beans. Every time I've been there the (presumably) husband is working the espresso machine and the (presumably) wife is baking something behind him. They are really sweet once you get them talking, though perhaps a little shy at first. A much friendlier alternative to Jet Fuel :)

Good but overrated, just go to Absolute Bakery down the street for an identical croissant for a cheaper price

Albert T

The best croissant in the city. Buttery goodness. A bit on the expensive side, but worth it based on the quality.

Jenn B

Discovered Tasso during pandemic, and I have enjoyed their pastries now many times. They are the best I have tried in Toronto, and I would say they are comparable to Parisian ones. I've tried a few other items at Tasso, and all have been delicious, but I think the "classic" butter and chocolate croissants are the best.

Alice Wright

Delightfully flaky! Only caveat, we got there at 10 and bought the last three of four croissants to make sure you get there early!

Ying Wang

Doesn’t live up with the hype. Had a financier and a croissant aux amandes. The almond paste tasted like artificial preservation. The taste was so strong that we could barely smell/taste the almonds. Very disappointing. The financier was fine, but I wouldn’t pay that much for a dessert that one could easily make at home, had no choice cuz it’s bundled.

Sara fox

Everything the reviews say, worth waiting in line and heading from the west to the east for.

matthew over

Best pastries I have ever had! The prices are reasonable for the quality that you are getting. My only compliant is that they are only open 3 days a week.

The best bakery in Toronto NO question!! Make this bakery a must on your pastry list!!

Siu Chu L

BEST PASTRIES IN TORONTO! So flaky and delicious. Only have limited hours from Friday to Sunday but it’s so worth getting here early in the morning. They limit the pastries to 8 per person. They take cash & credit. Bakery is standing room only so that’s why the line may seem a bit intimidating. The cinnamon bun is unique where the dough has lots of fluffy layers and it’s not too overly aweet. You can tell they put a lot of heart and hard work into their bakery!

Good Americano, nice interior.

Almost too good. I just wish they made more pastries!

Summer break going on until July 26. It happens every Summer.

William Campbell

Mike & Oyla are the best. Been patronizing this fine established for years. Best kouign amann in the city!

Marcelle Commissiong

Worth the line up...even in winter.

Tiffany Lam

I got there at 9:30 and waited about 10 mins to get inside the store. The people in line seem to be regulars since they know what is best. The pistachio financier is the best i have tried and the kouign amann is the perfect balance of crunchiness and flakiness. I took the last 2 almond croissants since i was told it is to die for! The latte was just ok. I will be back for more pastries for sure!

Shaun Doody

Best croissants (and other pastries) in the city. Their smoked ham and cheese croissant is amazing, and their cinnamon roll croissant is possibly the best thing I've ever eaten. Oh, and despite what the Google listing says, it's not cash only (they take credit cards).

Arnold Don Paul

Worth the wait, however long that is. There's no bad options

Fatima A.S

Absolutely love this place! I stumbled on this bakery after searching tirelessly for the perfect kouign amann. I have been going to this bakery for the last 5 months and have tried everything on their menu. From Butter croissant, ham and cheese croissant, pain au chocolate to Chausson Aux Pommes, cinnamon bun and cardamom Kouign Amann. Everything is buttery, flaky, and delicious. Nothing is too sweet or intense. You have to place an order before hand, on Tuesdays at 9am (they sell out very quickly) and it's ready for pickup from 10am til 12:30 on SATURDAYS ONLY. You want to get there early though because there's usually a line up. I have enjoyed supporting this local business these last couple of months and will continue to do so. Their baked goods are always fresh out of the oven and aromatic. If you have the time, switch over to this bakery. Pictures speak for itself.

Drew Marshall

The kouign amman are a must. Great spot.

Jordan Kwan

The cinnamon bun was amazing, buttery, cinnamony incredible. With COVID they are doing pre-orders on certain days check there website for more info.

Steve McNeil

Not sure what was better.... the coffee, the croissant or the fantastic human beings running the place!!!!

Joseph Dylon

Incomparable in every way with a definitive taste of excellence, Tasso's croissants are the best in Toronto. While at times it seems impossible to place an order, with dedication and loyalty you will find a way like I have. I cannot imagine a Saturday morning without croissants from Tasso. These beautiful and delicious pastries are pure joy, luxury, and a tasting experience all in one and they make amazing gifts for people who have yet to try them. Over the year, I have diversified my weekly orders to try other baked goods from Tasso, which my family and friends have throughly enjoyed, but the croissants keep me coming back for more and will continue to for years to come.

Mark Duncan

This has got to be one of the best croissants I’ve ever had.

John Rinaldi

Simply the best!

Arjun Sahni

J Ma

Haven't been here myself but tried the regular and chocolate croissants.. hands down the best croissants I've ever had. Note that they close once they sell out so go early!!

Peter Valier

Superb pastries .. limited selection and amounts are limited. Get there early as they usually sell out quickly
