This bakery is heaven for the cake lovers! Especially their well known Dad's and Mom's chocolate cakes. The taste/quality is very good. Also sometimes they have some samples on the side to try if you are unsure of what to get. The interiors and also the items you get here are fancy and unique except for one fact that never have specialty coffee drinks here. The cappuccino was so bad and also the strawberry baked good I had seemed hard/not fresh at Al (hence 3 stars) but otherwise they deserve 5. Wide variety of food they sell apart from just being a cafe.. I am yet to try anything apart from the baked goods.

Phipps Bakery is one of the coziest places, and we love spending some of our Sundays in here. They definitely make you feel great with amazing service, and it gives a feeling of being home. I personally enjoy the variety of things that they have to offer ranging from coffee to greeting cards. However, everyone in our family is a huge fan of their "wicked whole wheat bread". So, if you miss home coffee, you know where to go.

Cute bakery. They have cakes and muffins, soups, quiche and even mac and cheese. Did an order online. Got an email back and went to pick up. Parked in the lot behind the Starbucks. Took cake 30mins out before serving. Rich dense chocolate, really nice buttercream icing.

Phipps is one of the best bakeries in the city. Everything they make tastes amazing! With a comfortable and calm atmosphere this is an anazing place to sit down and enjoy the day with a baked good or two. I most recomend the banana muffin and the caramel pecan butter tart if you're looking for somthing sweet. They also have a great salad bar with some amazing lunch options. If you're planning to go keep an eye out for the amazing wall painting and the fun seating area complete with an orange tree. Due to is fun energy, amazing food and great staff I can't recomend this place enough!

The smell ! That's advertisement enough! Freshly baked bread and other delicacies will drawn you in. I was quite surprised to find hot food as well and those are good too. I tried the Quiche and a mixed vegetables. Beautiful decor. Cards and some party accessories are also sold. They are allowing 3 people at a time. Please wear a mask.

The pumpkin pie was delicious and the service was great. It's a real community feel, similar to eateries in the beaches or queen west. The bakery has so much different pastries to offer while at the same time a place to sit back and have a cup of tea. Green P parking is around the corner making it very easy to to get to. Worst service. 2 stars because the food is great. Seriously though when we make an order a week in advance for a 10 am pickup. HAVE THE FOOD READY FOR 10! This has happened not once but twice now. Asking the customer who is standing at the counter waiting to get their food what the order is so you can start to make it is unacceptable. Will not order from here again.

I have been coming here for years and have been absolutely obsessed with the pies here! Best in the city. The staff is super nice. Victoria in particular is amazing and went above and beyond - I came last week with my daughter and they were sold out of my favourite pie, so she whipped up one quickly just for me while we waited in the cute seating area with a delicious latte and hot chocolate. Very overpriced. Like, super overpriced. I’ve tried to give this place a few chances as I work in the area. But I think it only routinely appeals to people who lack proper tastebuds, or have an affinity for blandness. Also one of the few places you can get a teeny tiny salad, with nothing but lettuce, vinaigrette dressing, and a few red onions and have it cost $10+. Go elsewhere and get more for your $$$

Went in after having a morning wedding appointment next door at Eglinton Grand. It was a great place to sit down and do some work and was the perfect noise level. Had their Oatmeal Spice and Banana muffins which were massive, then vegetarian pizzettes for lunch. Quaint and cozy spot, would definitely recommend for small groups or pairs.

I ordered a cake but it didn't appear the way that we talked about. Script was written across the cake instead of using a plaque as I requested. I was supposed to put flowers on the cake but wasn't able to do so. The cake itself, lemon coconut, was very dense and very sweet which we didn't like.

Quaint lil spot midtown on Avenue Rd. When I stepped in I really wasn't expecting much and was taken by surprise - so many wonderful options!!! And nor just baked goods, you can buy cute cards here and savoury food too. The staff here are friendly and helpful. They have biodegradable straws which I respect. I ordered a caramel butter tart which was heaven and I'll be coming back to try their other treats out soon.

I could eat all their sweets. Their cookies are especially good. Of the thinner variety, they are nevertheless always chewy on the inside. Oatmeal chocolate chip, cranberry / raisin oatmeal, and double chocolate are my family's favourites. Their rugulah are also great. Sort of a mix between a strudel and croissant. Apple and raisin are both great! Also had a banana chocolate cake and it was divine. Pretty much everything is awesome! They also have a hot food section - everything is great there also!

Yummy, local and quaint bakery. Our favourite is the Lemon Escapade Cake! Lots of snacks and desserts offered with a small hot table in the back. You can also buy frozen pies to bake at home - smells delicious! Tip: if you are buying for a special occasion, they also have a selection of cards and candles.

Super friendly staff and delicious baked goods. So far, I've had the chance to try: - the chocolate chip cookie (soft and chewy) - a few different flavours of rugelach (which they are known for) - the challah bread (the loaf is soft and huge!) - the cinnamon babka (great flavour and super yummy, and I've heard the apple version is to die for). Massive appreciation for the physical store that is currently set up to promote one-way flow and social distancing. Eager to come back to try their lunchtime offerings, I spotted some hot meals, sandwiches, and soups.

10 years ago when I was in high school, Phipps donated some baked goods for one of our school concerts, amongst which were cupcakes. They were the best cupcakes I've had in my life. To this day I remember how buttery the icing is and how soft the cake is. Last night I had a dream about these cupcakes, but in my dream Phipps had to close because they didn't make it through the pandemic. So of course when I woke up I checked and was relieved to see that they're still in business. Next month I am visiting Toronto and fully intend to make a special trip to pick up a dozen of these cupcakes.

So the lemon tart/slice wasn't great. But everything else was AH-MA-ZING!!! I had the pecan caramel butter tart. It was so good. Deathly sweet- with scrumptious flavours. I wish I had ordered a few! I vistited Phipps Bakery Cafe and purchased a butter tart, thumbprint cookie and lemon shortbread slice . This was my first time purchasing products and was looking forward to trying the baked goods after reading the positive reviews. Although I tried hard to find something good about the purchase I Unfortunately was very disappointed. The caramel butter tart was overly sweet and did not taste like a traditional butter tart. The crust was good but filling was too much. The thumbprint cookie was tasteless. Lastly the lemon shortbread was terrible. The lemon filling had an aftertaste. The powdered sugar dried out the lemon curd. My husband tried half and threw his out. My $21 purchase overpriced. I won’t be returning. Very suspicious why so many have rated this high. Dues no one know good baked goods anymore?

The quality and flavour and everything are good but the sweetness made the cakes too hard to enjoy as both the icing and cake itself were sickeningly sweet. Tiny cute little bakery. The baked goods are fantastic and made fresh daily. The store also offers many "made yesterday" options for a discounted price. If you have the chance to go around lunch hour there is an fantastic array of warm lunch options (the quiche and lasagna were so good we considered buying a whole one, but it was too much for two people). There is parking on the street, but a green p just around the corner for convenience.

I bought a Lemon Raspberry cake from Phipps for a special occasion after hearing how good they were. The website shows all their cakes whole and their descriptions are not very good so I thought I would show the inside of this cake with a few comments. Disappointed, no really disappointed. There were supposed to be layers of raspberry coulis and lemon curd. There was no curd. There was a little raspberry in the centre and that was all. The cake was dry and almost hard. The butter creme had some lemon flavor present but didn't have any tang. And the thickness of the butter creme was used to cover and smooth over a very uneven cake. Picture eating a forkful of wax on every bite with some dry crumbly cake. This cake was expensive and I was truly disappointed. Try one of the other bakeries in town.

A gem! I have ordered their cake and cookies for special occasions and each time my guests are perfectly satisfied. The pre ordering is very easy. You fill out their form, choose what time to pick it up and they get back to you. I ordered their banana chocolate chip cake for my Father's 67th birthday last minute, and thankfully they were able to have it ready the next day. That is amazing customer service! The shop itself has a loyal following of customers for years , there are line ups due to covid , but it's worth the wait, the line moves very quickly.

It's a place of wonder with such lovely bakes, pastries and desserts that it makes you want to spend the rest of your day there. Prices are indeed of the higher end but I guess you pay for quality goods

My go to bakery especially for cakes. Everything is always delicious and freshly made. Also very reasonable as an 8” cake is about half at what it would cost at most other bakeries in the area. Recommend the chocolate banana cake and their rugelachs.
