We were happy with our beautiful wedding cake by Sweet Celebrations! The entire experience from the first consultation with Sharleen to tasting the cake was top notch! What stood out the most were the natural flavours and freshness of the cake as well as the beautiful design. It truly looked like a piece of art just like the picture we provided when we placed our order.

Sharleen’s cakes are divine. She has easily made at least a hundred cakes for my clients and for my own private events. I can attest that her gluten free options are just as delicious as the real thing and everything she makes is just as beautiful as it is delicious. I always feel confident when I bring clients to her shoppe knowing they’ll be well taken care of. My favourite flavours are the strawberries and champagne, raspberry lemon and blackout chocolate!

This review is for a couple years ago. First off we where referred by the Ancaster Mill which seemed reputable, did the taste testing, meeting etc. all went well. We made special instructions not to include ingredients due to allergies, when we cut our wedding cake there it was, i was very disappointed. I contacted Sharleen many times and left a message of my complaint, the person answered kept saying she's not there, but whats interesting is there voice sounds the same. Terrible experience with a horrible business owner who ruined my first and last wedding cake. Not even any call back or an appology. NOT RECOMMENDED!!! ????????????????????????

My husband and I hired Sweet Celebrations for our wedding recently. They made the process fun and efficient despite Covid-19. Sharleen organized a curbside pick-up cake tasting for us, and it was so cute, as well as delicious! The cake that was made for our wedding was absolutely beautiful. Exactly as the pictures I had sent Sharleen as part of my vision. Hands down one of the best cakes I’ve ever tasted! Our guests loved it as well and are still talking about the cake! Unfortunately I had a terrible experience here. I had ordered a stunning cake with intricate detail for our wedding and I had never imagined that sharleen would completely change the style I ordered and provide me something’s completely different and not even notify me. So other than messing up the design of the cake, the cake we ordered was a 4 elongated tier the bottom layer real and the rest styrofoam, because we asked to have 3 slabs for convenience, that being simple as is got messed up as well, and again no message was sent to notify us. On our wedding day we walk into a cake we did not order and while being on camera cutting our cake as husband and wife we go to the bottom layer and it’s styrofoam, next layer same thing, next layer same thing and finally the smallest top tier is real, embarrassment galore. We have received our pictures and video and it shows how surprised we are and embarrassed written all over our faces. After our wedding and honeymoon I have been emailing her and I have hardly gotten emails back she gave me ⅛ of the money back because as she states it’s no refunds on the contract, am I supposed to be thanking her for giving that back ( the contract does not state that if she gives you someone else’s cake you have to live with it) and I keep persisting I want to meet with her and go over everything and at this point she is ignoring me. What type of service is this, I have validation all through our emails and she still thinks she is not in the wrong. Do not trust her unless your okay with having surprises on your wedding. Cannot wait until summer to go and show up at her store and have a conversation with her that she keeps avoiding.

Cake tasting was such a fun experience and she was so open minded with my vision for the top cake tier and cupcake designs. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the cake that Sharleen designed for my wedding. My husband and I shared a story about how we went impromptu blackberry picking in Stanley Park right after we got engaged, and we were blown away by how she incorporated this into our cake design with absolutely breathtaking sugar blackberries! Beyond looking like a true piece of art in our reception space, the cake blew our family away! I’m not normally a fan of Earl Grey cakes, however this one was so subtle and perfectly flavoured, and paid such a beautiful homage to my husbands English heritage. I'm not usually one to eat cake at a wedding because it doesn't taste good, but all of Sharleen's flavours were excellent, as well as the cake itself. We had ideas and photos of the design to share with her which she confirmed and showed similar that she's done before, so we we're confident in what we were getting. We had many guests compliment the cake design and a lot of feedback how good tasting the cake was as well. Highly recommend working with Sharleen & crew!

We hired Sharleen to do our wedding cake. We met twice, for our tasting and then a quick follow up prior to the wedding to go over everything and add on some additional items to our order. Up until this point all communications were responded promptly. We were very excited about our 'gatsby wedding cake'! I had sent emails and placed phone calls a couple weeks prior and still to this day never received a response to my question concerning the flavour of the bottom tier. Thanks for the "great service"...having spent close to $1,000 on your products you'd think otherwise! The day of our wedding I was very disappointed again, this time with the actual wedding cake. All other items were great, but with the days event being a wedding and all, the wedding cake triumphs. Our cake did not look like the image we had supplied during our visits. In fact, the SHAPE was completely wrong. The middle section was supposed to be square and decorated front, sides and back. We received a round section instead, only decorated at the front? I've NEVER seen a cake with intricate detailing only on the front. Our photos show us 'cutting the cake' with a naked grey cake. The gold detailing was suppose to be the 'wow factor'. Too bad you could only see it from the front! Lastly, I received a charge on my credit card while on my honeymoon for what I still assume to be the extra items we ordered, which of course is fine, just very odd a business would charge someones credit card without issuing an invoice ... at all! When I returned, I followed up with an email 1) asking for clarification around the charge 2) stating my displeasure about the cake and outlined the errors made 3) asked when I could return their cake stands left at the venue. This was not a 'snoody' email by any means, but as I'm sure you guessed - no response given. Sharleen - A lack of response comes off as rude. It’s a blatant lack of respect for one another and their time. When you don’t respond to an email, you are basically saying “I could care less that you reached out to me.” I suggest you rethink your business values. We will certainly not use your services again, Alison

My husband and I used Sweet Celebrations for our wedding cake on October 24, 2020 and it looked and tasted absolutely amazing! We met with Sharleen to do our cake tasting and design consultation in November of 2019. She provided 9 samples for us and we had a very difficult time deciding as they all were so good! We decided on chocolate, strawberry & champagne, lemon raspberry and pistachio almond. Everyone said it was the best chocolate cake they ever had. My mom (who prefers other flavours) said the chocolate was her favourite- which means the chocolate must be out of this world!! Sharleen was able to exactly capture my vision and idea and execute it perfectly into the cake. During our consultation I knew right away she and I were on the same page and seeing it in real life I know I made the perfect choice of bakery. I received so many compliments on how beautiful the cake looked! My husband and I are so excited to eat our top layer on our wedding anniversary!

Got a macaron tower for our wedding and was thoroughly disappointed. The reviews pointed toward an satisfactory experience, but we ended up getting ripped off. We ordered and paid for a 60 macaron tower, but received a tower half that size with half the macarons. We called to clarify the mishap after our wedding, with no response. We would not have written this review had they responded.

Sharleen is absolutely amazing! Not only is she a talented dessert maker, she is also a great person to work with! My fiancé and I wanted to have a desserts table at our wedding. We went for a tasting and we were blown away at the variety of desserts and how delicious everything was! The colour scheme for the wedding was all neutral colours so we wanted the desserts table to also reflect the theme. Sharleen absolutely delivered exactly what we asked for. We had a beautiful array of elegant white coloured deserts, with hints of green and gold. The set up she did was so beautiful. She even incorporated the olive leaf that was on our wedding invite in to the design of some of the desserts! Everything on our desserts table was gone within such a short span of time! The desserts table was such a hit with our guests. I would highly recommend working with Sharleen on your big day! You will not be disappointed!

We had a wonderful experience with Sweet Celebrations . Sharleen was kind and genuinely interested in our vision for the entire wedding. The cake is moist and delicious , the flavours natural tasting (no heavy gross sugary icing here !!) and unique . She made us a custom mocha flavour for one of our tiers and it was by far the best cake I’ve ever had. Super reasonable cost helped us stay on budget. Our cake was an Art Deco masterpiece and looked exactly as we had designed it . So many compliments on the look and taste . Yeah, this place is awesome. My fiance and I were there for a cake testing and it did not disappoint. The cakes were full of flavor and were not the typical wedding cakes. My favorite was a country apply that had a rich cake with a goat cheese(I think) inside. It tasted like an apple pie cake. The owner is very nice and extremely good at what she does.

Terrible Experience. The cake we received was nothing like the design we had agreed upon. We had been in recent contact with Sharleen confirming the design of the cake. At her suggestion we decided to put the cake front and centre in front of the head table. When I walked into the reception the cake she had delivered was hideous and nothing like the design she had sent me. My theme was Elegant white and gold, the cake had an ugly rustic brown stick wreath that didn't match anything and some green misshapen jelly blobbed on the front. Bright Green and rustic sticks were not what we had discussed, and so far from what I wanted. I was so disappointed. I sent her an email that I was disappointed and the design was nothing like what she had sent a sketch of, but I never heard back. I'm posting this review because I am hoping other brides don't have the same disappointing experience on their wedding day.

All previous experiences with this vendor were satisfactory, until our wedding - the most important cake we would ever have. The beautiful sugar flowers promised looked like dead roses and not the colour we wanted. There was no topper at all on the cake when we specifically discussed having sugar flower topper. We were not advised the cake would be mostly styrofoam instead of real cake. This should have been made clear at the tasting. Also, the additional desserts and pastries we ordered were mini bite size when we expected full size (doughnuts, cupcakes, etc.), this also should have been made clear as we have seen previous dessert displays from sharleen with full size pastries so we did not expect any different. The cupcakes were hard as a rock. Overall a very disappointing experience, so much that we didn't even want to save the top tier of our cake. A voice message and email were sent to Sharleen with no response in a week. Spend your money somewhere else, working with a vendor who actually cares about their clients. One of the biggest disappointments in our wedding was the cake. We will never use this company again and will warn all of our engaged friends and family to stay away!

We absolutely loved our wedding cakes. Sharleen was a pleasure to work with. The tasting was delicious - It was hard to pick one flavour we loved the most and wanted as our cake... so we picked two. The “Chocolate Blackout” and “Strawberries and Champagne” and we selected buttercream frosting (since our venue had air conditioning). Sharleen and her team made us 3 different sized cakes with different textures on the outside of each cake giving some interest to a simple design. Honestly, it was perfect. We served this as our main desert for the evening and had multiple people tell us how much they LOVED the 2 flavours of cake. Our venue never saved us cake (even though we asked them to) for our 1 year anniversary... which happens to be this Sunday. I emailed Sharleen asking if she could make me something small for this weekend, and she responded almost immediately with “Of course!” I’m so excited to eat our cake again this weekend, I would highly recommend Sweet Celebrations!

Unfortunately I have to say that my experience with this vendor was not as positive as some others. The tasting and pre wedding meetings were great. However, the final product was disappointing. My husband and I were embarrassed that we couldn't get our knife through the cake when it came time for that moment in our ceremony. The baker told us she would coordinate with our florist to add flowers to the cake which never happened, instead there were a couple small buttercream flowers which were no bigger than a 25 cent piece and looked like something I could have done myself. The sheet cake that we served to our guests was not the flavour we asked for and truly was like something I could have purchased from a local grocery store. When we attempted to deal with this after our wedding with the vendor, our emails and phone calls went unanswered. Very disappointing as this individual posts a lot of beautiful cakes in their social media pages. Truly disappointing and not recommended.

She even went the extra mile and provided a personalized cupcake for a guest that had her birthday on the same day as our wedding. Beyond the appearance, the cake was incredibly moist and flavourful. Absolutely loved our wedding cake! Sharleen made it look exactly like the picture that we showed her! All the layers were delicious and were exactly what we had asked for. The only negative feedback I have for Sharleen is that she does not respond to emails in a timely manner. For a bride that has a lot on her plate, is stressed and anxious about the wedding day, this does cause unnecessary anxiety. My recommendation would be that she hires a client relations person who responds to emails in a timely manner. She is very talented at what she does and based on our experience, she does deliver that beautiful cake you envision for your special day...her work is excellent!

Loved Sharleen and her cupcakes we ordered for our winter wedding! Sweet Celebrations came highly recommended from our venue (Pillar and Post, NOTL) and we were extremely happy with the results! She matched the mint icing perfectly to the swatch I provided her and was very upfront and accommodating with the planning process! Even after we had confirmed all of the details she was amazing and changed a few of our cupcakes to gluten free to accommodate some of our guests. The setup and execution of our cupcakes on the beautiful wood log stand they provided was perfect! Sharleen made wonderful recommendations and clearly laid out the very affordable cost of everything in our contract. The cake toppers I provided were placed on our top tier beautifully. Sharleen went above and beyond and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! I would highly recommend this friendly, amazing and delicious place!

My husband and I got our wedding cake, which was actually cupcakes with a top tier and it was all AMAZING! Sharlene was so responsive and the cupcakes were so delicious, so was the cake. I would highly recommend using Sweet Celebrations. We did not do a tasting but the flavours (chocolate, vanilla and carrot cake) were delicious and the cake was so moist and perfect. The icing was perfect amount of sweet and creamy.
