Newly opened and really looked forward to it. Ambiance is fabulous, lovely little touches. Especially loved the pictures. Sound is loud (only 3 tables when we were there but hard to hear and constant door slaming was distracting), needs some items to help buffer the sounds. Menu is very thorough with a lot of good options. Only criticism is descriptive font for each menu item was very hard to read due to font colour. Actually had to get server to read it, which she had trouble doing too. Hubby had an amazing burger. Large homemade patty, and we believe homemade relish. Juicy, flavourful and messy, just what you want. I had the fish tacos. Large piece of fish, actually too much. Ended up cutting fish in half and leaving it on the side of the plate. Loved the cabbage slaw, but next time would request it not be put at bottom as it made the tortillas wet and mushy. Better to put on top. Needed more spice for me (understand not everyone wants spice though). Asked for hot sauce and got some on the side (was charged for it!) And it worked. Fries were homemade and cooked perfectly. They have a large display with baked goods that looked very good, but i was just too full. I will visit again.

I had a lovely meal of fish and chips, the staff were friendly, happy and hard working. My order was delivered hot and the order was turned around fast. Great food and really enjoyed. Bring your mask and they ask you to sign in for the COVID log but I am good with that.

We went here tonight for supper before heading over to catch the ferry. It was recommended to me, and I'm glad I looked for it, as it is a little off the beaten path and otherwise we wouldn't have come across it. Great Seafood Chowder, excellent Clams & Home Fries, and we picked up some bakery items for the ferry crossing. Glad we found you!

Delicious food. We had Turkey dinner and fish and chips. We didn not have room for dessert, but the desserts looked amazing! Service was fast and friendly. The prices were reasonable and the meal we had was well worth what we paid for it.

I'd describe this as an average restaurant. Definitely not terrible, but room to improve. I've visited twice, not sure when I'll go again. Had to wait a few minutes to be seated which was understandable since it was Friday and I only saw two staff working the desk/counter. First visit, club sandwich was good. Second visit, Princess burger was mediocre - just a standard "Prince" burger (at a higher price) that contained two miserly strips of bacon and a pitiful amount of cheese. For the price, much better burgers elsewhere. One peeve I had was the waitress asking me if I wanted gravy on my mashed potatoes (leading me think it was service) and later charging each person an extra dollar. Personally, I think it's really chintzy charging for sauces at restaurants and more people should speak out.

My sister and I treated ourselves to a meal from The Miners Daughter... our first time. We each ordered a sandwich and a single seafood chowder between us. While the sandwiches were ok, the chowder had no discernable taste, whatsoever! It tastes like flour and water. And as far as seafood goes...We got to try 1 for ourselves of the 2 in the bowl. Tinest shrimp I have ever seen! With no other fish and and definitely NO Fish Taste!! to it. Because of our first experience, we won't be going back. It's not food on the cheapest side, either, so you feel like you got ripped off. I was really disappointed. :(

Very disappointed, second time eating here, first time was ok but this time waited over an hour and a half for our food, when we received our food meat was cold (sent it back) no flavor on it and we were still charged full price, sorry to say but will not return again.

We ate here on the way to Newfoundland ferry, out of the way place however food was amazing. My mother had the pork chops she says it was the best she has had in any restaurant (if you knew her you would understand.....lol) and she has eaten in many food establishment along the way. Service was great with the wait staff recommending the right things for us. Fast, friendly and great all around. We will definitely revisit this lively out of the way spot again.

Went the other evening, had the fish and chips, was not impressed. Chips were good, nice and crispy. Fish was nice and moist, the batter very disappointing, it was soft, only crispy on the ends. I am assuming it was a beer batter, if it is they should change to a better recipe.

Beautiful little restaurant friendly staff and delicious food. I have been here 3 times already and can’t wait to go again. The first time I had the fish and chips and they were so good I can’t make myself have anything else, My husband had the liver and onions and also enjoyed that. Fair prices for the food portions as well I give it 5 stars.

Worst service and treatment we ever had Guess you need dress pants and the whole atire to eat in a dive. We sat and waited 15 or more minutes for a waitress and no friendliness when she did show up.ate our meal which was average if that. When i was leaving i waited approximately 20 minutes for someone who wss "too busy " to take my money . All in all not a pleasant experience.

Had dinner at the Miners Daughter and all I can say it is one of the best Restaurants around. Food is amazing and prices are very reasonable! Meghan was our server and she was so awesome! We never waited for anything, she had great suggestions and took care of all our needs. She was hands down one of the best servers we have had. We are heading back to Ontario tomorrow and will definitely let everyone we know to go to the Miners Daughter and ask for Meghan if they are travelling to Cape Breton.

Bad experience last night. ordered a hot turkey and asked for white meat but they wouldn't serve it, said they needed it for clubhouses. If we didn't already have our drinks all four of us would have left. I know you need to pay more for the white meat. I was there but they saved the white meat for someone who might order a club later. They loose four dinners to serve one clubhouse. We go there on a regular basis but not now!!!!!!
