We began driving all the way from Stratford to St Thomas for this places lovely treats. I was so happy when they opened in Woodstock as it was a bit closer for us!! This past weekend we had their spooky and extremely tasty Halloween donuts and my son also got the Pennywise Strawberry Float. So yummy! Ordered on a Thursday afternoon and they delivered on Friday to my area. Amazing. Contactless drop off and she called ahead to let me know. Kids were so excited that there Christmas movie was interrupted by the yummiest surprise. Cupcakes were light, fluffy and full of flavour. I was extremely frustrated with the type of service and product I received on my wedding day (Summer of 2018) from Chick Boss Cake. I certainly did not receive the type of service I was expecting and here is why: 1. Cake arrived way later than was expected, essentially with the arrival of the guests!! This effected my pre-wedding ceremony pictures and this is NOT fair and NOT appreciated!! 2. Instead of receiving a notification call from your business to explain what happened and why, my decorator was kind enough to look for why your drive arrived and left within a few minutes of arrival at the hall with no cake on my cake table. 3. Cake came damaged from the front. I did not pay $500+ to receive a damaged cake on my wedding day!!! 4. The quality of the taste was not even close to my expectations, the cake ended up in the garbage within a few days. I do not recommend this place for a wedding cake!

Ordered 6 donuts for pickup about an hour after order placed. When I arrived for pickup was told that donuts were in fridge and will take an hour to get to room temperature???? Not my idea of freshly made! Donuts were very average.

They communicate very well with their customers (website chat, Facebook messenger, E-mail), which makes it very easy to complete an order and feel comfortable with it. I ordered a wedding cake from Chick Boss Cake and though it tasted good, the decoration of the cake was nothing like the pictures I submitted. The cake came to around $260 with tax, for a two tier cake that fed approximately 60 people. At that price, I expected to get what I paid for. I had originally submitted pictures upon our tasting in May 2017 which was approximately a year and a half from our wedding. We paid a down payment for the cake which was half of the cost. In September 2018, I emailed to confirm the cake and sent some follow up pictures that looked a bit different than the original ones submitted but still went with the floral theme. My colours had also been slightly updated as well, which I shared in detail. The owner said he would check with the decorator to make sure they could do the cake design I asked for and they said they could. I was really, really excited about my cake because I love baking myself and know how much talent and effort it takes to produce a cake like this. For the design, I had requested frosted flowers in my wedding colours cascading down two tiers on one side of the cake. What I received was not that. The quality of the decoration was so poor that guests asked if the cake was homemade - NOT something you want to be asked on your wedding day when you paid for your wedding cake from a bakery that is supposed to specialize in wedding cakes and speciality cakes. Following my wedding, I emailed to express my disappointment. I was told that there were a lot of photos that went along with my order (I believe there were maybe 6 total, and three should have been discarded when the owner confirmed the design of my cake in September 2018). I was also told that they had done a design that is requested often, yet I've never seen cake even close to similar on their website, ever. I did not appreciate the excuses. I asked for a refund or partial refund as I didn't think I had received a fair product for what I paid. I was told that no cash refund could be offered but I was offered a website code for $100 dollars towards their products. As you can imagine, I'm not interested in purchasing anything from them again. The disappointment on my wedding day was massive. As soon as I saw it, I said that it must have been a mistake - it was not what I ordered. Even my close family members commented on how poorly done it was, which was embarrassing for me. In my opinion, for $260, they should have been able to achieve the look of my cake pretty easily or told me they couldn't do it. I would have paid more if that is what it would have taken to get a nicely decorated cake. Looking at the cake, it made me feel like it was an afterthought. They clearly didn't bother to look at the most recent pictures sent, or spend time on the floral decoration, which was so important to me. Booking ahead of time did not seem to make the cake a priority whatsoever. Overall, if you are looking for a professionally decorated cake for your wedding or special event in the London/St. Thomas area, I would recommend searching for another bakery that truly specializes in cake decoration and design. **I am giving them two stars because the customer service leading up to my wedding was polite. Additionally, the cake tasted good.

We ordered a cake for our daughters 2nd birthday party ! We also got 6 assorted cupcakes included with our order. We were very impressed when we went to go pickup the cake , it was beautiful , and our guests couldn't stop complimenting us on the cake and the cupcakes and asking where we got them. I think the price was completely reasonable. It was only 10 dollars more than going to a baker who works from home EXCEPT we got the cupcakes for free which put them well over the mark. We're going to be going to them for ALL our cake needs in the future. Hands down THE BEST.

Almost too beautiful to eat! From the mermaid tail to the decorative icing and edible glitter, this cake was so meticulously decorated, it made cutting into it a challenge! Our daughter was over the moon when we brought it out of the store. She kept begging to hold the cake the entire drive home. It was the perfect addition to her mermaid themed birthday party. Not only was the cake beautiful to look at, it also tasted delicious. We opted for the chocolate cake and it did not disappoint. Chad was a pleasure to work with. I don't normally write poor reviews but when you pay over $100 for a cake that your guests ask if you made it yourself there is an issue. I ordered a cake for my wife's birthday that was to be flower stems with pedals on the top. The picture on the website looked amazing but what I received was a cake that looked like stalks of asparagus with small pink flowers on top. I emailed the company the next morning with a picture of the cake (unfortunately the top was messed up by us at this point) but the sides were all intact and it was clearly visible that there weren't any leaves even on the flower stems as there was in the online picture. I would highly recommend NOT using this company for a cake as they simply don't present the quality for the price they charge. I hope this helps not be as disappointed as I was.

I ordered a dozen specialty flavour cupcakes to be delivered on Valentine's Day with only a couple of day's notice. My cupcakes arrived as scheduled, were total showstoppers for the dinner guests I was with and had that perfect icing to cake ratio that a really good cupcake needs. Be very careful giving deposits to this company. They will not refund for any reason including canceling due to Covid. Doesn’t matter how far out you cancel they still keep your money even though they have not provided any service or pre-purchased anything to complete your order. I understand possibly keeping a small administrative fee but keeping the whole deposit ($225.00) is just a complete ripoff. These people will never get another penny from our family.

Talk about exceptional service! I live in New Brunswick, and my boyfriend lives in London, ON for school. I really wanted to have a cake/cupcakes delivered to him for his birthday, so I inquired with Chick Boss what my options were. They responded in a very timely manner, with a very detailed message explaining their products, prices, and how their delivery service works. I ended up ordering a dozen cupcakes, and asked to have the cupcakes delivered the morning of his birthday. That being said, it was the night before the delivery date, at about 10 p.m and I sent an emergency email asking to please have the cupcakes there as early as possible, and without any issues, they had them delivered exactly at 8 a.m. the next day with a confirmation e-mail. I couldn't be happier with Chick Boss. Extraordinary service and amazing, quality product! I will definitely be ordering a graduation cake from Chick Boss for my boyfriend in the future!

If anything goes wrong with your order, then... Well, you just better hope nothing does. Otherwise you're SOL. Bland, dry cakes. If you're not satisfied with it, the owner turns it around and makes it appear it's your fault. While now looking up this business online I see others have also had issues with their cakes and have even gone as far as throwing most of it out because no one is willing to eat the decorated saw dust, but the owner will say it was fine, and perhaps just offer you a coupon (not eligible on cakes!). Oh, AND if you've paid for an order and try cancelling nearly a month in advance - you're still SOL. Seemingly there's no refunds, even with lots of notice. $85-100 on a cake? "Sorry about that, but thanks for the money!" Best just to steer clear and find a real bakery, one who actually cares about the customers they're servicing and aren't JUST in it for the money.

The staff at chick boss were able to take a last minute request and turn my son's study day into a 'delicious' birthday. Answer was yes but not exactly the same but it will be optimus prime .Colour maybe different. I sent pictures to them . They told me they make customs cakes . I trust in them . I sent 60 deposit. I ask pic how will be the cake but they refused to send . I give them a try it was a BIG MISTAKE . I shouldn't. I had no idea they don't have professional experience. To Make some nice cupcakes you Dosen't have to be professional. Inside the Cakes was dry . I spent 105 and just was wast of money . Never ever again .My son was disappointed. Chad and Rebecca advertise themselves as ‘dedicated to ensuring your experience exceeds your expectations’ and say that they provide ‘a professional, reliable customer service experience every time!’, this is certainly not the experience that we had. Their service did not meet our expectations. Unfortunately, my most recent conversations with Chad left me feeling frustrated and confused. I will include the details of our experience below but if you don’t feel like reading it, here is a summary. Chad was unprofessional and dishonest. We received ‘okay’ customer service, at best. We are still trying to get our deposit back for the cake tasting. If you would like more details about our experience, continue reading or message me on Facebook (Reanne Monique). My fiance and I are planning our wedding for August and which has kept us very busy, on top of work demands. After cancelling our cake tasting on two separate occasions, due to work, Chad did not reply to my message. The next business day, I sent Chad another message to which he answered ‘Unfortunately we are fully booked for that date at this point, but we hope you have a fabulous wedding day!’. My fiance and I thought it was pretty convenient that our wedding date became fully booked from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. When I asked Chad for an explanation, he admitted that it was because we had cancelled our appointment twice. He explained that our cancellations caused them to 'waste' food even though he bragged about having several cake tasting during the week and over the weekend. I am not a cake expert but I don't think that it would be reasonable to throw away cake that same day. I apologized to Chad for the cancellations and tried to offer an explanation. Chad explained that they could no longer offer us a custom wedding cake but that our deposit could be used towards a standard cake. After our experience, we do not want to proceed with their services, however, they have refused to refund our deposit. We are surprised and frustrated with their lack of professionalism and customer service. I tried to speak with Chad over the phone on three separate occasions. When I finally spoke to him, he did not let me speak and laughed arrogantly when I tried to explain our cancellations. The call ended with him hanging up on me as I spoke. Although we understand that we caused inconvenience for them, it is clear that Chick Boss Cake does not have compassion or understanding for their clients. As I mentioned, we will continue to try and get our refund and ensure that other engaged couple do not live the same negative experience as we did.

(Via skipthedishes) A cheesecake delivered for Mother’s Day Cupcakes delivered for a birthday. A custom order of cupcakes delivered for social media day. A cake for my birthday. A cake for our anniversary. The delivered orders were a huge hit with their recipients. The skip orders went through without any issues and were enjoyed. Some of the elements get a bit soggy because I believe the items are refrigerated after being made prior to delivery. The two cakes we enjoyed were extremely we eet and decadent, you don’t want to cut too big a piece, so the cake goes further. There were minor flaws in the cakes where icing with a bit thin, but since they were just for us we didn’t care too much. Again some of the adornments on the cake get a bit soggy, but to be expected with cookies. We love the free shipping promotions we have been able to enjoy. And we love the wide range of locations they are willing to deliver to. We have sent cakes to London, St. Thomas and a small rural community west of London. We will absolutely order again.

We ordered a cake for a birthday party, paid 70.00 for it which we had no issues with as it was a special occasion, however when we ate the cake it was hard, crusty not moist or fluffy and the icing was also hard and crusty and it tasted HORRIBLE. We ended up throwing the cake out, no one enjoyed it and later on that night and the next day 8 of us either threw up, felt sick or was sick in other ways. We were extremely disappointed and emailed them to let them know we all got sick from it and their response was PATHETIC to say the least. They took no responsibility for it and tried to blame it on other food we ate at our party even though there were people that did not attend the party who were given a piece of cake and also ended up being sick as well. Basically we all got food poisoning from it and they could have cared less. We sent a couple of emails and they pretty much ignored our claims and concerns. I'm sure lots of people have had great cake from them, however we did not and would NOT RECOMMEND them in any way what so ever, more so based on how they treat you when you have a complaint about their cake ! Ordered the cupcake (6pc) AND donut (6pc) package & milkshake. Only got my cupcakes and milkshake and the free drink that tasted like garbage. Tried to call but no one answered because it was 10 mins to close. Still no excuse, answer the phone until the doors are locked. Was really excited for the donuts but never received the donuts. One of the cupcakes had a hair in it, (disgusting ????) and no it wasn't one of ours as we found it after pulling out of the poki sticks. Wasn't told or messaged about the donuts. 100% will never be ordering from here and will give fair warning to friends and family who plan on ordering.

My husband had a cake delivered today from his kids for Father's Day. It wasn't in a normal closed cake box, but wrapped in cellophane and very tall. I had to unwrap it to refrigerate it. There was a card message written on a blue sticky note? The cake was terrible. Extremely dry and tastless. The icing was flavourless. I called to let the cake company know and spoke with Chad. He was full of excuses and told me he never gets compaints and everyone who got cakes from the same batch loved them. He handled the complaint extremely poorly and took no accountability for the substandard product. He told me I shouldn't have told him the cake was terrible and should have been more positive. Wow, really Chad? It was not a good cake, so why would I tell you it was? Now after reading other reviews, it appears that this is his usual response. I would not recommend this business if you are expecting a delicious cake.

The staff are friendly and the cupcakes and macaroons that we tried were delicious. The design on my daughter's birthday cupcakes was cute and in keeping with her birthday theme. They will custom design what you want to match your party theme, but prefer not to do something from a picture (at least in my case). A minimum order for cupakes is 1 dozen, and a custom design is $5++ per cupcake. They also have gluten free options. I'd certainly go to them again.

Got a half dozen of the finest looking and tasting doughnuts I've ever had and would love to try more..only reason I don't give 5 stars is the price is a little higher than I had been expecting..I know they have to price accordingly to time and effort along with materials , but still it wouldn't be something I can afford on a regular basis but it's a nice way to treat yourself or someone close to u with something they will be wowed with as soon as they open the box. Tryed them because they clame to have the best cake in town. That is a lie. The cake itself was dry and bland. Had no richness and little to no flavor. The icing was far to sweet and overpowered what little flavor there was. Overall i have had better cake out of a box that says betty crocker on the front, and for the price, i am never going back. Final verdict... Overpriced, no flavor, dry, and overpowered by the sugar on top. Though i will admit.. They did look fantastic.

The donuts were stale and old, the icing colors were bleeding into each other and the cupcakes were over sweet and tasted much like cake mix. This was my first experience with Chick Boss Cake, and it was positive from start to finish. I sent a couple of emails with initial questions, and Chad (the owner) responded very quickly and thoroughly. I needed to accommodate some dietary restrictions, so I ended up ordering 3 dozen cupcakes, half a dozen of which were vegan and half a dozen gluten / dairy-free. They were delivered first thing in the morning, exactly what I ordered, and they looked beautiful and were scrumptious - even the vegan and gluten-free ones! You can get regular, the gluten free or vegan if you like. The owners are very nice and are always available for help with online ordering. Free delivery for orders over 30 dollars is a huge bonus!!! Everything about the experience was wonderful. Chad was courteous and knowledgeable during our consultation. His wife Rebecca designs and makes the cakes and she is truly talented. Our cupcakes were simple but beautiful, and our cake topper had red fondant roses that she did an excellent job on. During delivery to our venue, Chad arrived for set up and they would not let him in for quite some time until after the ceremony when the table was set up. He waited and made sure everything looked perfect anyway, and was very cool about the glitch. I would highly recommend Chick Boss Cake if you are planning an event!

A refund would be nice but I doubt they would honour it based on reading responses to other reviews. The cake did not taste good, even my 5 year old passed on his own birthday cake. It was very dry and didn't taste fresh. So we had to throw out our cake. Very disappointed! The quality of the cupcakes has definitely gone downhill. We got a 6 pack of cupcakes over the weekend and they all tasted the same. The icing isn't real buttercream and has a weird texture to it. The "flavours" don't have a real distinction to them. While they look beautiful, the taste leaves a lot to be desired which is disappointing since they are very pricey.

One of the positives to come out of the pandemic, was being introduced to Chick Boss Cake, as I don’t live in London, and they offer fantastic deals on free delivery in many regions! Recently, I have also purchased a few of their specialty cakes, and they have been incredible! Their decorating is beautiful, fun, and not only do they look great, the cakes also taste wonderful. A week ago I ordered my girlfriend 12 Raspberry White Chocolate Cake Donuts for her birthday. After picking them up from the St. Thomas location I opened them up to take a look, and I was not impressed. More than half of the donuts had fallen apart and were not properly assembled together. For the record I was very careful with the boxes, and took extra precautions, however you could still tell that they were not properly assembled together. The look of the donuts was nothing close to what the pictures online looked like. I then decided to have a taste of one of them since I was not going to give my girlfriend one of the half fallen apart ones and it was disgusting. There was way too much icing that did not come close to tasting like Raspberry White Chocolate... it just tasted like a cheap pure sugar concoction. The description also mentioned that these donuts were light... not even close unless we have different definitions of what "light" consists of. Lastly, the price for 12 donuts was not worth $50.00. Not to mention it sucks that you have to buy 12 of the same donuts, and if you want an assorted dozen they have to choose the flavours for you meaning that you will probably get whatever leftovers they want to get rid of in the store that day... I personally think this place is overrated and not worth the money or quality. Look elsewhere.

Celebrating my sons 100 day celebration we ordered cupcakes from Chick Boss Cake to support a local business in our town. These were to be the centre piece of our table and the only food item at our celebration. I had asked for a dozen, half chocolate half vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream. For the decoration I had stated that I’d like a fondant plate (they suggested placed vertically sticking out) with 100 written in gold with gold flecks all over the top. These are the cupcakes that I received. I had told them that it was very amateur and sloppy - they disagreed and said this was the work of their top designer. I had told them that this design is not what I had asked for and paid over $70 for - they said they take it upon themselves to go ahead with what design they feel is appropriate from what they gathered from the conversation even though it was all written down The pictures below are the work of their top designer. Fondant that is not cut clean or properly and gold paint that is smudged and writing that isn’t stenciled or professional. I’ve added the photos to Yelp.

Based on the amazing Facebook ads, I ordered my birthday cake from them, and I added their six free cupcakes deal. Upon arrival, I stood outside due to the signage about social distancing limiting the number of people inside. That was fine, but I was clearly visible from the door, yet when I entered, the cashier walked away and I stood for perhaps five minutes, listening to people chatting in the back, before I found a bell to ring, and she finally returned. Then I gave my name, and she said she'd just given my cake to someone else! I clarified no one else would have arrived to collect it, and she repeated it had just been given away. Then she checked her list and said my cake was actually still there. When she handed me the cake, I said I had added the deal for six free cupcakes too, but she said it wasn't on her list and I should have added it to my online cart to qualify (so she immediately placed blame on me). I left with the cake, then checked my emailed receipt which showed they were actually on my order, so I returned to show her, and she just said "Sorry, it wasn't on my list," and she gave me the cupcakes. So customer service was poor - no cheery welcome, she didn't check their system to confirm my order, and she was unprofessional, unhelpful and unapologetic. Then, I tried the cake, and I was further disappointed - the sponge wasn't moist, and it had thick and sickly icing instead of creamy icing. I only ate a sliver of it, others only ate one slice too, and I didn't even want to save the rest, I threw out the other half, which sucked based on the price. I hoped the various cupcakes might be different, but all of them were the same. They looked amazing, so you'd think they'd taste amazing too, but they tasted as good as average cakes/cupcakes from a grocery store, so the higher prices are just for the fancy designs. I won't be returning or recommending to others.

Sadly, I had a very negative experience as a new customer of this business. On Nov 7, I placed an online order for a Minecraft birthday cake for pickup Nov 29. In the order notes section, I requested they make a cake that looks the way cakes look in the Minecraft game. I received email confirmation the same day ("YAY! Order #4145 confirmed...We're excited to make this order for you"). On Nov 26, they emailed me to say they wouldn't make the cake as requested but instead could make me their "super popular minecraft theme cake" that is pictured on their website or I could have a refund. If they had notified me of this on Nov 7, I most certainly have taken the refund but it was obviously too late to place a custom order elsewhere. When I complained it was unfair to notify me of this so late, they responded that they “review the notes for the week to come, during the week of each event” and it was only then that they noticed my order notes and decided they were unwilling to work with this theme. Had they advertised this fact anywhere on their website, I would have ignored their email confirmation and gladly called to speak to them instead. I tried to explain to them that I would have had no way on knowing about their order review process and appealed to their sense of good customer service to honour my confirmed order. In response, they cancelled my order despite me having already told them that I did not want to cancel but wanted to find a way to get a cake closer to what they had confirmed. They said "we feel we are not the right fit for what you are looking for. On the custom cake section of our website it states: 'See examples above of our work! Tell us your theme or your favourite colours and let our Cake Artists design a custom cake just for you! Add these details to the "Date & order notes" section in the cart page! We do not work off of other cake pictures as we like to give our artists creative freedom." It seems to me that what they really want to do is the same one style of Minecraft cake they always do, which doesn't seem like they have “cake artists who are trying to design a custom cake just for you". Because their website says "we accept minor customization of our cakes such as colours, message, theme," I replied again that I didn’t want to cancel my order since it was so close to the birthday party. I asked them to make us their Minecraft cake but in a different colour (white and red instead of green and black) and with a different edible picture (of a cake in Minecraft rather than the one they have on their website) if possible. I also asked for some of the decorations to be omitted. Unfortunately, they refused. After this experience, I checked the Better Business Bureau and their rating is C- with two complaints in the last 12 months, and they have the Reviews option on their Facebook page disabled. I wish I had known this before I wasted my time with them.

We ordered cupcakes and donuts for our son’s 2nd birthday, and I have to say.. it was OUTSTANDING. Assorted flavours, detailed, perfection and ever so creative PLUS they delivered to us! We will absolutely order from Chick Boss Cake again, and I highly suggested you do! I’ve read some reviews about costly price, but let me tell you- you are getting your money’s worth and I think the pricing is so reasonable for how quickly it’s prepared, regular or custom design, fresh and delivered! The donuts were large as well, we are ended up cutting them in half!! They follow up with an email to see how it was, which shows their customer service goes above and beyond. While the stuff may appear cute for an instagram photo, thats all it is good for. The products are wayyyyy over prices for such a dry/overly sweet finished product. Not to mention that I have never seen a place so money hungry. They sell a pack of 6 macarons for $27.00!!! That is $4.50 PER macaron, then they claim to have deals by making them by one box get one free on certain days which is still $2.25 per one. They make you think you are getting a good deal with this when in reality they are ripping you off still. Angelo's has literally the EXACT same macarons and they are $2.19 there everyday (not sure if they both order them from a company or they buy theirs from there or what is happening). Either way they have to be making a huge profit off of these unknowing customers, it's so sad.

A few years ago we switched from a local baker in Aylmer to Chick Boss Cake, and are glad we did. We recently ordered a cake for our daughters birthday, which was a short notice as we didn't realize they were not open on Mondays. That being said they told us it would be ready for pickup at their London location within a few hours. When we picked up the cake, there was several things that looked rushed, and we were greatly disappointed, so I emailed them at around 5:40 (they close at 6). Within minutes the owner called us up and assured us that would he have been in the shop when that cake was decorated that he would have told them to start from scratch. But that is exactly what he did; even though the shop was closing in 10 minutes he asked if we could return to the shop after hours to exchange the cake for one that is decorated to his standard. Upon picking up the second cake (a mere 45 minutes later), it looked exactly like the one on their website. The owner went out of his way to make the decorators stay late to ensure our satisfaction. The decorators were genuinely apologetic when I returned to the shop. We were not expecting a whole new cake, rather maybe just a refund of our money. Chick Boss is definitely keeping our business.

Made a last minute order and they couldn't make the cake we originally wanted but let us choose another cake they could make and did everything to make us happy at the end and get a cake we loved and the design we wanted. I’ve got a Spider-Man cake, unicorn cake and peppa pig cake for the kids parties and they’re always a huge hit. We ordered the Caramilk Cake from the London bakery for my mom for her *Covid* birthday (since we couldn't celebrate with her!). She loved it! I recently visited Chick Boss Cake and was not satisfied. I purchased a mermaid lemonade and a box of donuts. First off, the staff did not share the price of the donuts so when I was asked for the amount I was shocked. I wouldn't want to pay nearly $25 for 6 donuts, however I was caught off guard and would have been embarrassed if I said no. Decided to go ahead and try them. The lemonade was bitter and didn't have much flavour. 4 out of 6 donuts were cake. If I had wanted cake, I would have purchased cupcakes. The donuts were labelled as these unique flavours, but when I tried them they were lacking. The only thing I would say is that they were pretty. I will not be going back to Chick Boss Cake and will not recommend.

Chad and Rebecca advertise themselves as ‘dedicated to ensuring your experience exceeds your expectations’ and say that they provide ‘a professional, reliable customer service experience every time!’, this is certainly not the experience that we had. Their service did not meet our expectations. Unfortunately, my most recent conversations with Chad left me feeling frustrated and confused. I will include the details of our experience below but if you don’t feel like reading it, here is a summary. Chad was unprofessional and dishonest. We received ‘okay’ customer service, at best. We are still trying to get our deposit back for the cake tasting. If you would like more details about our experience, continue reading or message me on Facebook (Reanne Monique). My fiance and I are planning our wedding for August and which has kept us very busy, on top of work demands. After cancelling our cake tasting on two separate occasions, due to work, Chad did not reply to my message. The next business day, I sent Chad another message to which he answered ‘Unfortunately we are fully booked for that date at this point, but we hope you have a fabulous wedding day!’. My fiance and I thought it was pretty convenient that our wedding date became fully booked from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. When I asked Chad for an explanation, he admitted that it was because we had cancelled our appointment twice. He explained that our cancellations caused them to 'waste' food even though he bragged about having several cake tasting during the week and over the weekend. I am not a cake expert but I don't think that it would be reasonable to throw away cake that same day. I apologized to Chad for the cancellations and tried to offer an explanation. Chad explained that they could no longer offer us a custom wedding cake but that our deposit could be used towards a standard cake. After our experience, we do not want to proceed with their services, however, they have refused to refund our deposit. We are surprised and frustrated with their lack of professionalism and customer service. I tried to speak with Chad over the phone on three separate occasions. When I finally spoke to him, he did not let me speak and laughed arrogantly when I tried to explain our cancellations. The call ended with him hanging up on me as I spoke. Although we understand that we caused inconvenience for them, it is clear that Chick Boss Cake does not have compassion or understanding for their clients. As I mentioned, we will continue to try and get our refund and ensure that other engaged couple do not live the same negative experience as we did.

A cake was bought from here for a coworker's baby shower before going on mat leave. During this pregnancy she has started to have food allergies so the cake had to be gluten and dairy free so she could have a slice. I was SHOCKED at how good it tasted!!! No one knew it was gluten and dairy free until someone said something, then everyone was blown away, they couldn't believe it. It was delicious. After the get-together there were slices left over and manager was eating a slice and I asked how it was and he said "good! it's very rich!". I said "did you know you're eating a gluten free cake?" and he responded "GLUTEN FREE?!" and I said "yes, and it's dairy free too!"... "DAIRY FREE?!" .... he couldn't believe it. Please note I wouldn’t even give it a one star. Unreal experience. I had spent $100 on a two tiered cake for my sons 3rd birthday. I was asked if it was home made by various guests. Literally it was edible print off character pictures. There was a number of treats thrown on top of this cake that made it look completely trashy and was not age appropriate for a toddler to consume (taffy and fruit chews). I will also be voicing my complaint directly to the owners and will advise of their outcome.

Brian Blasdell This is my 2nd chic boss cake. First time was great and deserved 4.5 stars. However, my recent experience I give just 2 stars. Stars earned are 1 for friendly service and 1 star for presentation. Wouldn't honor request for layered cake as it was to "labor intensive" Considering a name with boss cakes in the title you'd think that could easily happen as with other cake shops. Cake was mediocre at best. Not much lemon flavor for a lemon cake and terribly sweet icing. Very different experience the second time around. Never seen a cake bakery tell a customer they won't do a layered cake because of to much labor. That one really puts a thorn in my side being the paying customer. I even offered an upcharge and still was refused. Great potential if they correct the above mentioned and maintain consistency. P. S. A public response to several of these reviews from the owner I think should be in order... So as to show he cares. Have not seen one yet as I do with other businesses such as thank you.. . Or I'm Sorry etc The cake ordered was not an elaborate design. All I asked is that the cake be layered as I like to assume the standard firtnite cakes are baked fresh. I'm sure that cutting the cake as in layers should not have been a big deal. It was told to me that layers they don't do as it is to "difficult" I appreciate the response but not so much the excuses. I told another bakery of my experience around the denial of layers and they thought it to be laughable and ridiculous that a request for layers was deemed to be to difficult as it is only s couple of cuts with icing in the middle. Whether 2 months or 2 days notice, layers should be possible. Ownerships and accountability go so much farther with me than to receive excuses.

We needed a last minute birthday cake and Chick Boss Cake came through with only a few days notice! The cake was nicely designed and tasted great. Not too sweet and very moist even after a few days in the fridge. Another positive is that they were able to deliver the cake on the day we requested (someone had to be home to receive it) and it was dropped off first thing at 7am. Thank you!!

I've had a couple of deliveries from them and both were great! Very handy that they deliver all the way to Mississauga and offer some free shipping codes. I first bought a flavour assortment and everything was very good. Very sweet. Icing is sugary, which I like (I don't like my icing to be like whipped cream). Some of the donuts are like little cakes which is fine by me and really cute. The decorations look really nice. Latest order was chocolate cake and my friend enjoyed her birthday surprise.

I contacted chick Boss Cake because it was my dads 60th birthday and wanted to make it special for him!! I was contacted by Chad and talked to him to try and figure out what I wanted to do for a cake. My dad is an absolute fan of John Wayne, you can kind of say it was his superhero as a kid and he still is as an adult lol. He always looked up to him so I thought perfect!! I communicated with Chad back and forth through text to try and figure out how to do this cake. I found a picture of John Wayne online I thought may look cool, I sent the picture to Chad and then they took their artistic abilities and made a masterpiece!!! I can say nothing but great things about this place and I will order any cakes I need from here for now on. Anytime I sent a text to Chad with any questions or concerns he got back to me right away and it was just an amazing experience all together. Because my dad lives out of town in Port Stanley and I live in London I decided the closest store was St Thomas to my dad's place so I ordered from the St Thomas location. They even worked with me to make pay for the cake and was able to do an email transfer to them so I didn't have to drive all the way to St Thomas to pay for the cake which I was so thankful for. Not to mention the cake tasted fantastic!!! Thank you again guys for making my dad's birthday the best birthday he's ever had!

We paid for a Grinch cake for a family get-together. Unfortunately, nobody really enjoyed said cake beyond looking at. Even saying that, there were certain things that could have been done better for the price point we paid. The icing on the cake tasted strange, and the cake itself was dry and bland. It was completely not worth the price that we paid.

First time buyer...I ordered my mother's day cake here. It looked so yummy in the picture. I filled in that she loves pink and we picked it up today. Looked a bit different from picture but was still good. The icing was super sweet but the cake was moist, the colors were good and design was ok. The cheesecake on top was the best part. We have even asked for small changes to an advertised cake and they have been very accommodating. We wanted a naked cake with berries instead of flowers, I received a call back the next day letting us know they could accommodate that at no extra charge! Would have given ZERO. NOT HAPPY. We ordered a cake for my daughters 4th Birthday. We were not impressed with the taste of the cake. It was very dry and buttercream was not a real butter buttercream. So I also ordered a cake for my daughters 1st Birthday on SEPT 8. I payed for it when I payed for my 4 year olds cake. I asked today if I could get a refund for that cake as I do not want to have another cake from this place. The party is 3 weeks away I’d like to have my money back so I can get a cake elsewhere. Or make it myself. They do not do refunds but will give me coupons to use at a later date. WHY would I want coupons from this place when I was unhappy with the first product I purchased. Very unreasonable. Very disappointed. We just wanted our money back so I could use the money for a GOOD cake. Or towards ingredients so I can make it myself. ALSO. I did not see anywhere when I made the purchase that this was the policy. I was told afterwards. No where on the website is there a cancellation policy form. It just is not fair. NON refundable Deposit is understandable. But I paid for the entire order.

I stumbled across this website as I was looking for someone I could get cupcakes from to be delivered to my friend for her birthday, and voila, I found the Chick Boss! How lucky for me that I did. Conversations back and forth flowed easily and Krista was most patient and informative! Bottom line is that they were delivered, as promised, to Dundas, Ontario, surprising my very dear friend for her birthday! Even better was that they looked and tasted delicious, according to my friend! I couldn't be happier with the service, as well as the product, but specifically the ease to which it all came together. I will definitely use The Chick Boss again, when I have another occasion to celebrate. In these uncertain and challenging COVID-19 times, this was a perfect way to recognize and celebrate a birthday, since we can't celebrate together in person. Be aware of the fraud these people do and using COVID19 as an excuse! They charged us full amount instead of just deposit for a cake for our son's birthday. Now they are refusing to give us money back even though they have not incurred any expenses for our order, therefore, refunding should not be a problem. During the ordering process there is no point where you agree to any of the terms or conditions that they trying to present you when you try to cancel the order. Chad is extremely unprofessional (as you will see in his comments below), hung up on us, and following calls were unanswered. We do not want anything to do with these people in the future so we will dispute the charges trough our credit card. Apparently we are not the only ones. Hope this scam will be ending soon because we all suffering financial pressure during the pandemic that these people are using to make a profit.

My experience has been impeccable! Easy to navigate on line shopping and delivery assistants are so professional! I’ve ordered 2 cakes thus far ( another one on the way in April????) & they’ve been beautifully decorated. If you think you will only eat one slice - lol - not gonna happen! My taste buds were in heaven!

We ordered our wedding cake from Chick Boss Cake and we could not have been more pleased. Not only did they deliver it exactly when they said they would, it looked beautiful and tasted even better. I dont know how they made a simple vanilla cake and vanilla icing taste so delicious but they did. One of our guests whose background is italian and has been to many many italian weddings said that it was the best wedding cake she has ever had. Went for the first time the other day, super excited to try the cupcakes I've seen on their social media! Big disappointment though when I bite into an overly sweet and dry cupcake. I understand icing will be sweet but this was a little extra in my opinion. Cute design though.
