Mixed feelings about Preston Pies. Meat pies are excellent and have become a family favourite and easy as it's on my way home from work. Pastries, from what I have tried, I have not been overly impressed with. No debit seems to be an issue with someone nearly everytime I'm in there. Last time, after the person ahead of me asked for debit again, I mentioned to the lady behind the counter they really should consider getting a debit machine for customers. Was told outright no! Along with the generic response given there's an atm machine at the Avondale. I replied I am aware but gets costly with added charges from both the atm company and your bank and is a hassle for your customers. Again was told no along with a smug grin. I've worked many years in customer service and number one rule is to never say no to a customer or make them feel as if they are uncared for or unwanted/unheard. Good thing I like their pies or I would stop coming in. Still, a once a week favourite has likely become a once a month treat with the arrogant and lack of regard I feel this woman displayed for her customers. Did not feel as if my business was appreciated.. so will see far less of it on your side. Might want to reconsider your disregard for your customers needs or wants/concerns. My $60 (or more) a month in sales just dropped to $15 - $0 as a result of.. Please spare me the response of we do accept credit card.. I am fully aware and find it astounding any business now would accept credit but not debit. We all have to change with the times in order to stay competitive. Public health reviews leave something to be desired too.. after that read I am committed to the $0 figure lol....✌. What a shame.

Always amazing service and the strudel is the bomb. Just like gramma used to make :) Pastry is the best around Love all the imported treats at Christmas, so many I cannot decide. Thank you and see you next week for more yummy treats

They have homemade pies and they are absolutely delicious. One thing I should mention, they accept cash only. If you’re looking for great comfort food, this is the place. I would highly recommend this place.

Growing up in St. Catharines, my family always had their pies and Lancashire hot pots from there and now that I'm in NF, if I am in the area, I make the walk down there to get some steak pies and they're fantastic!! Not to mention they're United supporters which is a bonus but not necessary in my factor in getting such wonderful stuff from that place.

not as great as they used to be ,cash only, everything is so so.....Do you take debit,and to be honest your meat pies were the best anywhere but now they don't compete with anyone, and your pastries seem like they are day olds, most people go out of habit if a new store opened in this area you would be out of business, now that is as honest as I can be.

The owners are very rude, the woman forgot to put half my things in the bag, had to drive all the way back, no apology, they acted like they didn't want my business. They don't give you a receipt either, which I'm sure is illegal. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!

Was recommended to me by someone else and finally got around to trying it. All I can say is wow! Friendly service, amazing meat pies - cuts of beef are perfectly suited with the gravy and the pastry is just the right amount of flake without losing any consistency or thickness. Will definitely become a regular here

Great place for English food, the people who run it are English. Huge assortment of pies and pastries, it's the only place I have found that does mince and onion pastries, ohh and cheese and onion pies are unbeatable, only downside is that they are man utd fans,lol. English drinks, sweets and chocolate(milkybar buttons omg), pastries, pies and crisps. If you are English and miss the food from back home, go to this place and you'll be in heaven. Highly recommend

Absolutely delicious! I always get either the steak pie or the chicken and vegetable. I've been going there for 5 or 6 years and I have never been disappointed. Great quality. Fresh, homemade style, comfort food! I'm always met with a smile and prompt service. I don't have one complaint, only praise!

I have been going to Preston Pies for years. It's the only pies my 3 sons will eat. Great selection of baked goods too. Good assortment of other British goodies. So what I'm saying is, go to Preston Pies, you will love it.

Another one of our favourite stops and we especially enjoy the various meat pies they offer. Our favourite is the mincemeat pie which is shown in the attached photo. A lot of other pastries are also available as well as British Chocolates, drinks and cookies. Plenty of parking and easy access.

First time going here, overall good experience and low prices. However, the first thing I tried from them, the Bakewell Tart, was terrible. Under baked frozen pastry filled with plain cake batter (not frangipane as it should be), and a minuscule amount of jam hiding in one corner. Overall tasteless and very disappointing. However, other items (steak pie, cream horn, etc.) were clearly handmade, of good quality, and very tasty.

Real meat pies! I bring these to my friends out of town all the time and they rave about them, beg me to bring more next time. I have never had a problem with the owners or anyone who works there, they are actually very nice to speak to!!

Huge variety of pastries, including sweet and savoury ones. Meat pies, filled rolls, cookies, cream horns. Everything from repeated trips has been high quality and great prices. They have some really creative options like butter chicken meat pies. There is also a selection of British import products like Irn Bru, Fry's Turksih Delights, seasonings, and even Heinz beans. Prices are a little higher for these, but only as expected for imports.

Best pies in town! They also sell them at the Avondale a few doors down. I usually stick em in the toaster oven on 400 for about 15 minutes for a small and 40 or so for a large. Nice meaty, well seasoned true British pies. Cute place too!

Preston pies has the best empire cookies in Canada!!!! Not only are they baked fresh daily, but are also very reasonably priced. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I recommend also their cheese & onion pies - scrumpticious and delicious. Support St.Catharines's small businesses and be a part of your own community! You will not be disappointed☺
