You will see the reviews of real people who have information of the services and products of Safeway Marion & Braemar (Bakery) in Saint Boniface (Canada).
Currently the business receives a rating of 4 stars out of 5 and the score was based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is quite positive, and it is founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can be quite sure that the evaluation is very accurate. If many people have bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to give evaluations when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Bakery corresponds to the category of Grocery store.
It is really unfortunate but I avoid this store as much as possible because there is this one woman who works at the front and she is unbelievably rude every time I encounter her and it really sours the experience.
Good variety of products only not 5 stats due price sometimes
Safeway on Marion is a busy place with lots of staff to help out. It's newer remodeling makes it seem warm and inviting. They have a little bit of everything so if not fussy on particular brand or flavour you should find what you need. Prices are roughly 20% higher than other discount chains. At least they no longer thank me by name when I check out (like they knew me). I disliked that. If it weren't so expensive I'd give 5 stars.
This safeway had a surprisingly high amount of foot traffic, but still operated effectively. The shelves were well stocked and items were easy to find. Parking was ample.
Nice store, but the usual Safeway prices.
Always seem to have very friendly and helpful staff. Store is often kept neat and organized. Not a huge store so there are times when I have to look a bit for what I need but that rarely is an issue.
Snow clearing all hours of the night backup alarms and big tractors dragging their buckets. Next to no customer service, produce over priced compared to superstore. After numerous complaints to store manager, snow clearing company, and bylaw enforcement. They’ve stopped clearing snow at 2am. Thank you.
I have been going to this particular Safeway for 25 years and like it because it has a 'comfortable' atmosphere, reasonably good selection of items and friendly staff. It also has a gas bar, which is a plus.
Clean store, well located, quality products, ample parking space, flower shop and pharmacy inside, good selection of ready-to-eat meals at affordable prices.
Perfect location to grab groceries and collect a few Air Miles. Always shopped the sales, so it seems compared to other locations. Staff is always friendly and efficient. Sandwiches better then Subway by a long shot.
I met troy Westwood in line at this safeway . He is such a nice dude. I like this safway for their produce, I think it's always fresh. Easy parking lot you can get out on other sides of the road. Close to dollarama and has a gas bar in the parking lot
Been going to this location for many years and service/stock has been excellent in all even through the pandemic. Don’t turn into one of those freshcos or sobeys!!
One of the older Safeway stores. It is right inside the neighborhood. Limited parking. Well established staff.
Doing the best they can under present circumstances but so is everybody else Check out process seems to change daily ... where to line up ... when to go to an open cashier etc confusing for everyone concerned staff and customers alike For example ... still have the store wide visable "express checkout " signs up and every customer being told "there is no express 15 items or less any more - go line up there" which was a 10 person deep line with full carts and here's me with my milk and bananas, confused, irritated and feeling guilty and foolish for apparently cutting in. I almost list it with one woman's comments but employed a little mindfulness practice ... that helped Not a positive customer experience But again, every business can just play the covid card ... they're doing the best they can ... good luck with that☺
They were missing 3 things I had on my list, but the staff was beyond helpful in helping me find replacements and all of the items I had no clue on where to find. 5 stars to staff. 4 for missing the 3 items.
Changing my review down to one star after yesterday's experience. While waiting in line with my purchase, I witnessed a conversation between the cashier (Cindy M) and the person in front of me. The cashier was wearing her mask off of her nose. The customer said you're supposed to wear your mask covering your nose and your mouth. The cashier's response was "well, I have to breathe." Really?????? Does she not know there is a pandemic taking place? If the manager is actually reading this may I suggest that another round of training take place for employees on the basic premise of safety. And if employees cannot wear masks because they cannot breathe then perhaps they should not be front line. I'm not shopping there again until this virus runs its course. My health is my priority.
We just purchased 3 extremely expensive pickerel fillets (6$ each for a tiny filet) and there was literally at least ten bones in each one. It was so bad that we could barely eat a tiny bite without getting a bone and I was so frustrated I could’ve just thrown them away if I didn’t care about wasting.
Friendly staff, and always fresh selection. I love the bakery isle. When they are baking fresh bread or something delicious, it leaves you with an insatiable hunger.
Picked.upmflowers for sister-in-law's birthday. Confusing about how to lineup to pay.
Most filthy store out of the ones even in bad areas. Never ask for help from any of the unprofessional cackling hens at customer service or the terrible mundane management of this location. They INHUMANELY employ ONE staff in the AM @Starbucks in PRIME hours but have 7 in other SLOW areas. They are the most rude to regular customers & treat the place like a hangout as staff are all buddies been there for decades. Never solve any issues brought to their attention. See pics below. Thank me later.
Great little store, fast checkout, found everything I was looking for
They need to update the outside a little ugly but not bad
Somewhat busy. Aisles are tight and usually haveto wait to get where you need to go. Especually difficult during Covid. Till line-ups keep changing and are a bit confusing. Some staff seemed a bit stuck up but that's just my opinion. Overall not too bad I guess.
Nice and fresh flowers available. Nice.
A good selection of ready-made meals and salads. Friendly & helpful front-line staff.
Pricey! Quiet! But they give 7x airmiles on prescriptions and there is Starbucks. Checkouts are usually busy and a bit slow. Oh the sandwiches in the deli are amazing!
Beautiful, clean and well stocked. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Watched a baker today run after a kid to give her a treat, old school neighborhood grocery store with a fresh look and many modern/specialty items. Want a specific dietary item? They probably have it. Meat department is fully staffed and the butchers on site are a nice touch. Instead of only prepackaged meat you can request your own cut. Fresh bakery with staff on hand. Beautiful well stocked produce. Fully staffed deli counter with an excellent selection. Usually they have enough checkouts open to get you out quickly, and six self checkouts available if not. Loving Safeway since Sobeys took over.
A good store to do your small food shopping. Has a bakery and fresh meat. Fruits veggies and usual food items. They also have a pharmacy.
Staff were rude. I fell while pregnant in parking lot during winter cut my hand open was not treated with any kindess. Then it was an ordeal to talk to anyone finding there shoulve immediately forms filled out. I got hurt pretty bad, I still have pain. However management after several conversations did have staff members informed on proper etiquette n there was some retraining as well. Otherwise it's half decent.
Great selection, prices can be overwhelming, staff are very friendly, great place to shop.
Great location for all your needs but i wished they still had security or Loss Prevention presence cause I've noticed way too much shoplifters and sketchy people. Otherwise they have friendly helpfully staff.
This is my Godilocks grocery store, not too big, not too small, just right. I get a close parking spot and quick checkout. Easy access from either street. Only one point holding back the last star; on many visits I find the produce selection, particularly in the greens a bit thin.
Find it hit and miss. Some of the staff are fantastic, and others give off the impression that they'd rather be somewhere else. I often visit in the morning, and find that the staff is lacking at this hour. If you're working a morning shift, you're often people's first point of contact for the day and it would be nice to start the day off with friendly encounters. A lot of the prices are a bit high, compared to other stores. Sometimes can find some decent sales on items, but overall the prices are high.
It's very clean and the produce looks better than anywhere else But its so expensive to shop there. I never do a full grocery shop there, just a few things here and there.
I've been shopping on and off at this Safeway location for over 25yrs and there service and staff has always been helpful in assisting with any questions or concerns I may have. Also always have a large assortment of items which I love. Very good store and lots of parking too! You gotta love it a bank a flower shop, deli, coffeeshop, drugstore, bakery and all under 1 roof. Oh! The atmosphere is cool cool vibes. Lol
Very overpriced in comparison to No Frills down the street. Was only there because they have some things No Frills doesn't. I feel ripped off every time I buy from Safeway.
They have been top notch throughout all of these new changes and tough times. One of the cleaner grocery stores I've ever had the pleasure of shopping at. Even when I pop in shortly before end of day the staff are decently chipper.
This Safeway is located at 285 Marion. It is got handicap parking as well as plenty of space for everyone to park. They have a public washroom and they also accept plenty of ways to accept cash for your groceries including debit, credit and NFC mobile payments. This store is clean and the staff friendly and ready to help you with your grocery needs because you deserve to make your experience as easy as possible!
I loved it. I used to live in apartments behind the building 9 years ago. There was 1 person that I remembered. He said he remembered my son and I. He was very professional. I went to Starbucks and got a coffee and did some shopping also.
It is a wonderful store, great deals, good hours and super friendly staff. A great place to go for a quick bite to eat as well with their selections that are always available
Good access and clean location. Staff is helpful but it is often very busy with little staff dedicated to registers.
Nice store. Typical Safeway layout. I found the staff very friendly and helpful.
This is a very nice Safeway compared to others in the city. Comprehensive produce department, numerous specialty goods. I'm often tempted to go here over near by No Frills simply because of self checkout.
Love safeway they got everything and a very high quality standards
Beautiful and clean place but almost everything is more expensive than everywhere else.
They have self checkout with cash and if that’s not peak grocery shopping in 2018, then nothing is. They also close at 11 and since I’m a night owl I can just walk there and get my cookie dough and veggie trays and be on with my life. Only complaint is, they don’t carry the holiday themed pillsbury cookie dough. It’s cookie dough nonetheless, but it’d be cool if they all had pumpkins or christmas trees on them
I alway have preferred the Safeway experience to the "Big Grocery" experience. While small, this location has everything you need. They do sell out on sale items quickly
I always enjoy shopping here once more. When I lived on Dumoulin, I made a special car, bus or walking trip to the store because the staff were so hospitable and the service so superb, it made a real difference in my shopping experience. Financially speaking, over 5 years, Safeway overall has become much more of a let-down. There has been a noticeable decline in the special prices, manager's specials and incidental bargains that saw nearly one third of my food budget on E.I.A. Disability going to Canada Safeway not even 5 years ago. But with the restructuring of the retail marketplace, bargains once cyclical are long-gone and with the election of two terms of Tory hacks, the cost-of-living increases neglected by all governments for almost 30 years and only just begun by NDP Premier Selinger in his last term have been clawed to a virtual halt by Polpot Pallister, who has also worsened everyone's situation by weakening access to all parts of the social safety net, including healthcare, and that during a pandemic. In any case, this is not Safeway's fault and their staff seek to provide the same excellent quality of service with the same good quality of name brand and generic products that won me over in the first place. The Marion and Braemar store is definitely one of the best!
Store was well stocked and clean
Nice to have some options when shopping. Great choices there .
Always clean with happy helpful staff working
A very busy place, but the parking never seems to be a great issue and the staff treat you importantly. I come here a lot and I really appreciate the quality of baked goods, meat, and cheese they have for purchase. Definitely better than No Frills ????
Very good guidelines in place for social distancing. Friendly, helpful staff. Other than that, it was another normal Safeway.
Well it couldn't possibly be in a greater convenient location! So love that. We've got a lot of families & senior citizens in the area, so it's very convenient for them as well. It's such a clean grocery store. Everything is stocked neatly. You don't have to fight with stock personnel to get down an aisle. The produce & veggie section is nice, & clean. They have a fantastic deli section where you can go get a hot meal plus more. One more perk for the coffee drinkers, there is a Starbucks in the store itself. Pardon the pun. The staff are always very helpful & courteous! I love it.
Good! My favourite thing about this place is that it's almost never crazy busy (although that says something too). But, ever since Sobeys took over Safweays, produce and bakery quality seem to have gone down a notch. It has a decent selection of popular items at average prices. If you need organics/ethnic foods/less popular items, selection is very limited.
Nice neighbourhood location. Friendly staff and wide variety of product. Produce was very fresh and my beef barley soup turned out great!
Wait times are long, only having 1 till open is stupidly at its finest
Two cashiers only. It's time to get rid of machines as they are doing in the rest of the world and pay more people to give better service to customers. Poor decisions being made by Safeway in what is a very competitive market. No stars.
This Safeway is clean and well stocked. The one star review is the result of me having witnessed abhorrent behavior by the staff and management at this location. If you don't fit their preconceived notion of someone who is not a thief you will be followed around the store as if you are expected to steal something. I have been to this location many times and have witnessed this behaviour often. I have witnessed employees who are stocking shelves abandon the aisle they are working on to bobviously pretend to tidy up shelves in an aisle where a friend of mine was shopping so they could blatantly observe her. Avoid this location if you have the chance. Safeway needs to invest in some sensitivity training and change the environment in this store. I find it very uncomfortable.
Store hours need to be updated. They are only open until 10 PM during the week. I had a less than pleasent experience tonight at this location. The deli girl told me to pick a different type of lunch meat because she had just cleaned the slicer and didn't want to clean it again. I also asked her if the samosas contained any eggs, she said she could find out for me but didn't want to walk "allll they way to the freezer" to check. I could understand if I was the last person in the store at 9:55, but this was at 9:30. Pathetic. Lastly, the representative at the self checkout was very rude and unhelpful when I asked her to help me remove an item I accidentally scanned twice. I would expect this type of service from the cheaper option "No Frills" down the street, but not at Safeway which is one of the more expensive grocery stores in the city.
Cinfusunf way to line up. Do you get self check out or till as not clear. Just wanted quickest was in line went to gi to empty chreckout, but had been first in a till line not self serve.
The staff there is so rude to the elderly a small old woman was asking for help he pretty much yelled at her like get off horse and do the job you get paid for and then he just stands there like wow dec 23 455pm shame on them
No one mentioned there were lines to be followed when I entered and no sign was posted. I was then barked at by an employee to follow the arrows, that I didn't know existed. No one was standing on the queue circles in line so I stood on one thinking I was getting in line, when the same employee condescendingly barked at me again about there was a long line down Aisle 6 and I need to get in it and he will tell me when it's my turn at the till. To which I complied. So now we are all herded down aisle 6 barely six feet apart and I'm speaking with others in line who also had no idea there were arrows to follow and were barked at. My turn comes and I politely mention to the cashier that the man barking at everyone (waiting my turn at the till I heard him address 5 other people) that if the person giving us the carts and telling us to enter would point out the arrows more people would comply and he wouldn't have to be so annoyed repeating himself over and over. Unfortunately she was rude as well. Telling me "even when we had someone there telling everyone no one listened." So I apologized and stated I wasn't trying to complain or make you defensive I was merely pointing out that no one informed your customers of your expectations. Paid for my 3 items and left. Quite disappointing especially in these times.
I visited your pharmacy today and Allen the pharmacist is the best employee you have. He is an asset to your company. Because of Allen I continue to use your pharmacy even though your prices are much higher than other competitors. He is amazing knowledgeable about everything and leaves stone unturned. He is pleasant and goes out of his way to help to help the sick Sandra Dupuis
Good store, most of the staff is very friendly. they could improve their covid protocols with how they have people all lined up down the freezer aisle.
Good place staff is nice. Good selection. It would get 5 stars if every once in a while there wasn't someone asking for money. This doesn't happen all the time.
its Safeway it good although ,.... food expensive and they has no spare ribs for a few days now
I have trouble with the way customers line up.
Deli worker "Anne" was incredibly rude to me. I was waiting in line, and i was apparently in her way because she was pushing a cart, and she looked at me and abruptly, and aggressively said "MOVE". and nothing else. i was up by the counter and there was 5 feet of space behind me for her to go around me instead of being so hostile. i will not be shopping at this safeway deli again. Please pass this on to the Deli Manager.
I love the lady doing carts at the front on weekends. She is adorable. So nice. And it has a Starbucks...they are super nice there. Certainly they don't take points. But I go anyway! Always clean. Always steady. Nice staff
Know the store .. people are great there
I went to customer service to get bus tickets and was told by the cashier at self check out to go to the regular check out ? Why even have a customer service dept ? This is where the bus tickets are located . The cashier at self check out had only one customer as well . The nice gentleman that worked at the reg check out was closing but nice enough just to get me my tickets when I asked him . Especially with the Corona thing right now I didn’t appreciate being told to go to regular check out :(
They're a little overboard with their covid-19 nonsense
Very little line ups usually. Produce is nice and fresh. Easy in and out store. But watch the expiry dates on frozen foods. Have had to return a few items because of this.
not a great store, only 1 till open and no more plastic bags.Cant even search for product on their site.
Clean, well stocked, but high prices for items you can get nearby at other locations. I buy my water jugs here because 7/10 times they forget to take the 5 dollar deposit on the Culligan jugs.
Went to Safeway to buy airbrushed roses, they were out of stock and were unable to find any, however the lady took really good care of me, custom ordered some for me and even gave me her personal cell number to keep me posted as to when they would be in. Also sold me another bunch of flowers that were extremely similar to what I was looking for. Great experience!
Great place to shop with lots of variety and sale products are usually available.
Very unfriendly staff, had to stand in line for 20 mins to go through checkout, self-service checkout also had a long line up.i will do my best to avoid this Safeway
Best egg nog in town.
Great store. Had my favorite Spaghetti sauce (Bravo)!!
Staff are friendly and helpful; the store is always clean and well maintained. It's open rather late, which is nice. The only disadvantage is that they aren't large enough to have some more niche grocery items; it can be hard to find more obscure herbs and ingredients.
Great selection. Amazing deli area.
Can't stand what Sobey's has done to this place. Please revert to the previous business model. Safeway was a little more expensive but it was a much better shopping experience and the employees were excellent at their job. Now the experience is terrible and the disenfranchised employees couldn't care less and I honestly don't blame them.
It's in a good location many homes around meaning allot of people but it's scary at times because there is a bar down the street and there are not enough lights in there parking lot the price is so high and the things that are on sale you really have to look at the best before date's some of the employees don't look very happy I guess there not being treated with respect
Helpful staff , nice and clean inside . Fair prices
Very sketchy area very rude staff
Only been here once, but Coffee was pretty bad
There are certain items that I can only find at Safeway. Too bad the Safeway's are disappearing. Great staff!
The store is frequently amazing from the well stocked shelves all the way to the courteous customer service staff. Management sure has a good hold on this place. 2 thumbs up.
