Breakfast was really top-notch. Exceeded expectations!
Pauline is a lovely brunch location, tastefully decorated with higher end finishes. The server was good and they have a non-alcoholic cocktail menu! Our food, Chia Bowl & Garden Hash, took awhile to arrive and when it did the potatoes were black in the Garden Hash which was disappointing, hence the 3 stars. Overall a nice visit.

Good coffee, great atmosphere!
I had the pancakes and my father in law had the French toast. Pancakes were slightly burnt and lacked flavor . My father in law hated the type of bread they used. No syrup provided and he thought it was dry. Wife and mother in law enjoyed their eggs.
Wanted to try the food but they were turning away walk-ins cause they had too many reservations
I love their ascetic, and tbh the food was good but there wasn't anything thrilling about it. I ordered the salmon eggs Benny and my mom got the chicken burger. Her fries were no where near Christy enough. Again I liked it, but its kinda meh
Service
Exceptional service! Food was amazing. Very cute and bright when you sit. Everything was played nicely, tasted delicious and the coffee was great!
Breakfast
Ambiance and vibe is cool and easy, but it's not the most practical seating, armchairs are very uncomfortable. I waited 15 minutes before someone even asked me if I wanted coffee and it wasn't even busy. So service was not the most attentive. Food was ok, there's way better brunch in the city though. Since it's a fairly new joint, I think they are still working out the kinks.
Very cute! Great food! Staff are always friendly and the menu is full of delicious and healthy options. A great addition to St. Boniface!
Excellent atmosphere; it is relaxing and stylish. I think this place has wonderful prospects once the food is elevated. The coffee beans are good and equipment fine, but it is not be prepared as well as it could be. This applies equally to the food. The construction of the eggs Benedict is questionable (caramelized onions?) The tartines are delicious. More herbs and harmonious flavours could remediate this situation.

Restaurant has a nice atmosphere. We really enjoyed our food. Our waitress was friendly and quick with coffee refills. Didn’t know about this place until I saw it on Travel Manitoba’s tik tok.
Visited Pauline's on Jan 8 for an early breakfast. The atmosphere was very nice, and had a great vibe. Both me and my husband had coffee and the House Eggs Benedict's and sadly was very underwhelming and disappointing. The eggs were not cooked properly (runny whites), and there wasn't a lot of flavour, definitely needed to add salt. The hashbrowns had a good crunch but were a bit too big, when biting into it the retained heat inside made it hard to eat at first. Hashbrowns didnt have ton of flavour either and needed the ketchup provided which was sad. Coffee was pretty weak as well and needed to be steeped longer because it also didnt have a ton of flavour. The service itself was efficient and good, we came when it wasn't busy, though towards the end we did feel a bit rushed. All in all probably wont go again, hard to justify spending $14 on food that doesnt taste like anything.
Nice tasty breakfast
Service
Awesome Eggs Benedict! Great Service.

This was my second visit and I was very disappointed! I was there with 5 others . The French onion soup that two had,was burnt. No cheese was on top of the soup. Both had to be returned. I had poached eggs. The hollandaise sauce was too citrusy and the cubed potatoes were almost burnt. The waitress was great which why I have a star. I would have a hard time recommending this place to anyone. Not going back!
Great atmosphere, good quality food & service. I ordered Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, coffee and mimosa. ????????
super cute atmosphere and chic looking interior. service was also wonderful. unfortunately will not be returning due to the quality of food. ordered the eggs benedict and the eggs were overdone and veggie patty was just horrendous ! was very bland and tasted burned. the chicken parm was also way too salty. would come back for the coffee and the vibes but will probably not return for the food.

Great breakfast in Town. The space is super cozy and Nicole was an amazing part of our dine in experience with her great suggestion of food. Would love to go back.
cold hard poach egg ew
Pretty blazé. Waited an hour for our food. Waitress was preoccupied. Ordered eggs benedict and smoked salmon. Eggs done well. Under seasoned. Salmon was salty. Hash browns really bland. Delicious rosti potatoes. Coconut cheesecake I'd cross the street for. Hard pass on the smores cookie/cake. It was rock hard. Coffee and tea very weak.
Excellent latte. Very good food. Lovely, friendly and timely service. Would recommend.
Nice spot. Just had bacon, eggs, hashbrowns but everything was good.
Great. Better make a reservation
Great service, great food, authentic French cafe vibes. We’ll be back.
The food and drinks were unreal. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere with awesome staff. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Great first time experience, good service that didn't rush us out at the end, amazing food and ambiance, absolutely beautiful decor. Will be coming back often if its always this good, didn't like getting our latte in a water cup, maybe lose that touch..
Great!
Food was tasty.

Initial review Went on opening day. It is located inside the Norwood Hotel, but there is an entrance on the outside that will lead you to a foyer where you can open the door to Pauline's (or the wood tavern) Interior: 5 ???? Beautifully redone interior. Pictures speak louder than words. It was a much darker interior before, but now it is open and bright (on this side) Pauline's is the breakfast/brunch side and the wood is more the lunch/evening side. They are also accessible to each other through the hotel front entrance (just keep walking down the hall) w. It is separated, but you can see into the other depending on where you are sat There are a lot of beautiful details that went into this restaurant. The napkins, the coffee cups with golden spoons, to the pillows in the corner, there are many small touches to this restaurant that gives it a refinement. We tried the dove (a mocktail). If you like something sour and a bit more bitter this is good. It is not for people who love sweet. It has sugar in it, but not enough for a sweet tooth. We ordered the Parisian omelette. I was surprised they didn't fold it french style. It was nice and fluffy, served piping hot with generous hashbrowns. 4 ???? The other item ordered was the Mac and Cheese. It has a cheese sauce that is more soupy. No cheese pull here, but the flavors were on point and it was the preferred item out of the 2 we ordered. I'm not always a fan of mixed greens, but this simple dressing was perfect for it. 5 ???? Service: 4 ???? Service has issues, but that was to be expected on their first day as they acquaint themselves. I inquired about parking. I was told that you can park in the Norwood Hotel parking lot for free and that you do not need to get a validation. You can park on the street as well. As with any initial review, I hopefully will revisit (it's in my neighborhood so good chances) and I will further update to it's consistency. I tend to be a bit more generous with my rating in the beginning as a restaurant will be fixing any hiccups. If you find this review helpful please ????

Cute resturant with great food!
Breakfast
Great food, lovely atmosphere, I will for sure be back. As far as any suggestions, I would say serve a coffee worthy of the place and the beautiful espresso bar you have (cappuccino could be better). Also, service was totally fine, but again probably some room for improvement in terms of us maybe feeling a bit more welcome, and more attended to (but full disclosure, I was a waiter for many years and I set the bar pretty high for servers.)
Nice place for brunch. Even for evenings but service isn't fast so be prepared.
Nestled within the Norwood hotel, meeting friends for drinks, I was pleasantly surprised by the updated renos done to the place. Its trendy atmosphere and live music made it a great place to hang out, enjoy the company of friends, and just relax! For any first time visitors to Winnipeg, I would recommend visiting here!
Wow , the Norwood bar and restaurant has been rebuilt and redecorated . Beautiful. Food is excellent and the service is always great.
Lots of potential but unfortunately the service was extremely slow in addition to the food being underwhelming; the food we got (four of us at the table), 2 were not good. Poached eggs were done in a large batch (everyone’s food in the restaurant came out all at once) and the poached eggs overcooked. Toast was also burnt (avocado toast). Their kitchen or about 6-7 staff cook for both the wood restaurant and pauline by the looks of it, which is what made service so slow. Average cost of a dish is $15. Most portions small. (Avo toast only one slice + side for $15) They will not be able to compete with places like Stella’s or Ben and Florentine. If their service is slow, food cold and not cooked properly in addition to higher prices. I wouldn't mind paying the prices if the food was better. Other than that, they have a coffee bar which I have yet to try. Their space is gorgeous, with gender neutral washrooms and overall kind staff. This place is just what the area needs. I will try again in a few months to see if things get better!
A little chaotic trying to figure out where to go to get your name on “the list”. 2 entrances with no direction is confusing and no wait area causes you to feel like you’re always in the way. Service is good, as is the food, but it’s nothing spectacular that makes you go “I need to eat here again”. Super cool vibe though with trendy decor.
Service
Super tasty meal, good coffee, good sized portions. Will be back.
What a treat! The staff is very friendly and fun, tried the jam/gin cocktail and it was so yummy - definitely a danger of drinking too many!! The food was great, the whole ambiance is lovely and chic. I will definitely be back. I don't eat meat and they have lots of options for me as well any anyone else who does.
Very tasty food and fabulous atmosphere
Had breakfast at this establishment this morning. Poor quality food. Pancakes were sour tasting and were sent back. Server offered French Toast as a substitute which also tasted off and was never eaten. Eggs were rubbery and the sausages were bland and unappealing. For the cost of $40 for two people a better quality breakfast can be had at either the Promenade or Stella's restaurants. Will not be back.
The eggs benedict was delicious though eggs over cooked. My disabled friend had to walk all the way around to gain entry from the hotel lobby when a phone call would have had the Marion Street door opened to accommodate. The signage had been removed recently to be updated for new Covid protocols and the number was removed from the new signage. Went for 1 pm brunch and was hurried out at the end of it. Still getting up it seems to return to the high standards of thoughtful service and food offerings once raged about but not by me.
Food is so slow. Servers were not nice enough to ask and take order. Not trying to be picky or harsh since it has potential to become a much better restaurant but I just won’t recommend at this point.
Nice place to grab brunch
I read the reviews prior to going but a friend had gone a week earlier and had said her experience was good. Based on this I thought we would give it a try. Unfortunately our experience matched majority of the reviews. We arrived and we were asked if we had a reservation. We didn't and were asked to wait in pub next door which we did for approximately 20 mins. We were then advised our table was ready but while being seated the hostess told us the table was needed at 12 for a reservation. After we looked at our watch, we realized that noon was only 45 mins away. We quickly decided on our meals but the waitress didn't come back for 20+ minutes to take our order. We ordered the Parisian Omelette and the St B Hash which took 30 minutes to arrive (already past the 45 minute timeline were given.) The waitress then didn't come back to check up. My review on the food is that it was beautifully plated, presentation was wonderful but the taste was bland and the food was quite greasy. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the atmosphere was great but taking everything into account, I likely won't be back.
Fyre Fest: Brunch edition. Service was slow, food was underwhelming but the place looks good for the Instagram account.
Great first experience at Pauline! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and the staff was lovely. Breakfast is decently priced, but I would like to see more drink selections. I had the Salmon and Rösti. It was exactly what I needed to start the morning. Definitely will be coming back again.
Cool place.
I was disappointed. I guess I was expecting a nice quiet hotel restaurant. I'd heard the Norwood had a nice restaurant but the last time I tried to go there it was closed for renos. It was cold and very noisy. The food was ok. Considering it was so cold inside I was surprised they didn't let us come in the street door-had to walk all the way around the bar on the other side. Apparently to prevent outside air coming in. ?planning in renos. They let me go out that door. We were careful not to open both doors at once. When we got out of the restaurant but not out of the building I found it warmer outside the restaurant. The cold inside had nothing to do with the door. The cold in the restaurant was like They actually had the air on. Anyway I won't be back. I'm glad I had the experience. I have a friend who really wants to go to the dining room at the Norwood I'll tell her she won't like it. Whatever she remembers it's not the same.
Visited the restaurant for the first time. It was a decent place for brunch. Indeed a great atmosphere, very relaxed. However, the food was mediocre at best. I got a breakfast sandwich with hash for $13.00 plus tax. Quite pricey considering the taste and quality of the food.
The place is beautiful! Unfortunately the service was slow, food was not very good (cold and undercooked), took forever and no one really seemed to know what they were doing. Which can to a point can be explained as they a new, but they have been open for a few weeks now and I think my first visit right when they opened was better then yesterdays. I guess I just expected more after the uplift. Service used to be great, friendly and very personalized.
I was super excited to try Pauline's with my friends on Saturday morning.. But it seems it's more hype than anything else. The coffee was not good and kept getting cold fast (please get mugs that keep the coffee warmer for longer), I ordered the avocado tartine with a side house salad. The salad was literally a plate full of greens with maybe 4 cucumbers and a few radishes....one of the worst salads I've had at a restaurant. The Avocado tartine was pretty bland....the bread was the best part of the entire meal. We also felt rushed out after we ate our meal because supposedly there was another reservation that wanted our table....which is strange because by 1:25pm there was plenty of empty tables around us. Overall it's over hyped, and a bit pricey. Stella's is way better when it comes to brunch and the best bang for your buck.
Good food. French onion soup very good, not too salty, and good Gruyere cheese. My friend's eggs Benedict was good with rich dark yolks in free range eggs. Walls bounce a lot of noise from all the dinners in the restaurant.
Cozy atmosphere however the food was just alright. Definitely not worth the price... I ordered the Cheese Burger, it came drenched in grease and didn't have much taste to it.
We gathered for a pre-Christmas breakfast. This is not the previous restaurant by far. Gone is the breakfast special replaced with a generous breakfast for $11excluding coffee. This is probably why the restaurant was pretty much empty. I would of preferred a smaller portion for a lower price. Personally 8.99 plus a drink is my top breakfast price. Staff were attentive and friendly! It has a modern, bright feel however 50's style images on the wall. Not sure what they were going for. Definitely an improvement over the old restaurant.
Nice and cozy place, very friendly staff, giving 4 stars because there was nothing for Vegans
Great experience at the Pauline. We really enjoyed our food and the staff was great. Service was quick and food was hot. I will be back soon to try more stuff on the menu
The food was very good and the staff was friendly
Hidden gem inside the Norwood hotel. Brings me back to Paris!
Renovations look incredible, menu is whatever.
(Translated) Very nice place in the heart of Saint-Boniface, the service is quite fast and the food good. Brunch is a great experience however the menu is not wide enough and most of the dishes are salty. The prices are not high and the atmosphere is friendly.
Brunch
Friendly staff, beautiful cafe, delicious coffee, and generous portions. Went back several times on my visit to Winnipeg because it was great value for money, excellent food, and a staff that can’t be beat (they even helped me with a takeout order for my partner who couldn’t make it, no problems).
delicious. service great.
Went for brunch at Pauline’s. Took an hour to get in. Once we were finally seated, our waitress came by, gave us water and then disappeared for what felt like a long time! Food took a long time to come out too. The food was delicious but my eggs benni were Luke warm, definitely not hot. Considering how long we waited, this was disappointing. I think this place has a lot of potential, they just need better service and to serve hot food. I not sure we’ll be back, so much waiting for Luke warm food.

Had a great experience my first time. Being a new restaurant, my expectations were lower as there is always growing pains. But they exceeded them. Great food, quick service, and good prices. Really enjoyed it and would highly recommend the pear and prosciutto tartine.
First opening day and Pauline’s was a full house for brunch. Beautifully designed decor. Restaurant is located inside the Norwood Hotel with “The Wood” Restaurant located on the other side of Pauline’s. Providing it was opening day, the menu items that were had, the Veg Hash & Classic Bennie need some refinement in seasoning and were not warm. That said, it was opening day. Service was fantastic . Wonderful addition to St. Boniface.
Went here for breakfast on a Saturday at around 10am. Got in right away with a reservation, but plenty of tables open. Beautiful interior, I love the vibe. Service was fast and courteous. Food came within 10 mins of ordering. We shared the basic breakfast and French toast/ cinnamon bun plate. Hash browns were bland and underwhelming, sausage was delicious and seasoned. The French toast/ cinnamon bun would’ve been amazing except for the huge amount of berry component on top. Get the berry mixture on the side. Overall was 4/5 for experience, food could use a bit of work but definitely a great place to check out for brunch! Will be back????
the place is nice but the service is a mess one server told us to go to the other entrance to be seated but when we went to the other entrance there’s nobody to serve us, even though there’re a few servers who are doing nothing but just standing there looking at us when we finally have someone to speak to, they said this restaurant is only for reservations, haha interesting BUT right in front of us are some people who just walk in and ask for a table, another server told them to just go inside and sit at whatever table they want, and yes there’re so many empty tables without reservations card not sure what’s the standard they use to pick who is qualified to eat there though, I guess we’re not dressed fancy enough we ended up eating in wood tavern because we drove all the way here for 30 minutes, even though they are basically the same restaurant with the same owner and same kitchen, wood tavern has excellent service, servers are really nice and food is good:)
Not bad, but I think they've still got some work to do to make this a really great spot. Went for brunch, the menu is well varied. Had the St. B Hash, which was quite good, however one of the eggs was cooked completely through (as opposed to medium). One of my dining mates had an egg cooked hard, as well. The kitchen is quite slow, though I didn't find it too bothersome. One side was wrong for another dining mate. Sampled the soup, which was not great, and the salad was overdressed. Overall, I think this place has good potential, and I wouldn't mind going back, but not a standout meal.
Recently grabbed brunch here with a few friends & was really impressed. First time exploring this new cafe and was blown away by the work that went into creating such a cute and intimate space. Exceptional social distancing measures in place, team members masked up, sanitizer readily available. Brunch entrees are decently priced. $12.99 will get you bacon / eggs / hash browns & a mountain of sour dough bread. I added the fruit cup for $3.00 and was really pleasantly surprised to find "the good stuff" - black berries, strawberries & raspberries instead of the usual soggy melon / cantaloupe. Coffee was really good & server very attentive coming around often to refill our cups. Super cute date spot, Instagram worthy decor & plating. Will be recommending to friends & hope to return soon! Kudos!
Beautiful space! We loved the design and decor and wish the food was up to the same caliber. I had the eggs benedict and the eggs were supposed to be poached medium but were hard. The bacon was stringy and not given enough time to render down. The hashbrowns weren’t seasoned.
