I wanted to like this place and the plain croissants were good, but everything else we tried was just bad. The lemon tart was very unappetizing: the meringue was a single piece of chewy, weird consistency. Every other type of pastry, aside from the plain croissant, tasted like wonderbread with hints of cardboard. EDIT: I went back and tried the lemon meringue pie based on the comment from the owner and it was really good. My post about lemon tart holds: for some reason the consistency of the meringue on the pie held up but the consistency of the meringue on the tart was bad. I liked the lemon meringue pie and the croissant, the other pastries I didn't enjoy at all.

The woman with reddish long hair working the till was awfully rude. When I went up to buy another macaron, she placed it on the dirty table next to the cash till where everyone puts there change etc. The Macarons and desserts were very dry and old tasting. Completely over priced for the dry slice of cake you get. My grandmother and I felt quite sick and I had a headache from the amount of food dye (food coloring/ink) that was in the food... Will not be back!

I ordered 150 macarons for my wedding, we chose 3 different flavours and all were amazing. We got the creme brulee, tiramisu and the mint chocolate! Everyone at the wedding raved about them and said they were delicious! The shop in St. Albert was easy to work with and made placing the order easy and allowed for easy pick up as well for us. Would highly recommend ! Absolutely amazing and delicious!! (No pictures available, because everyone ate them all so fast!!)

Food is ok, sometimes things are stale though i would be fine with that but the woman working behind the till is extremely rude, I was in with a friend in a wheelchair and she told us we were in the way and to move while getting ready to order because someone was picking up, why she couldn’t just bring his food to him behind the counter is beyond me, or why he couldn’t wait in line while we ordered but you shouldn’t tell customers they’re in the way when we are ordering, not our fault the shop is tiny, we turned around and left immediately, will not go back.

The best macarons. But I'd say your downfall is the hours open. People who work 4-5 don't have a chance to get there in time. The regular young woman working I'm downtown is lovely! And so kind The st.ab one, she seems always dissatisfied. I once came 10 min before closing and took some time to choose flavor of macarons and looked annoyed. Doesn't seem impersonable. Thought maybe it was the day but I've gone a few times and she isn't the most approachable. Thanks for your goodies though!

This place is amazing! I have a gluten allergy and struggle to find tasty gluten free desserts that also have an appealing texture... There are over 25 gluten free macaron flavours that are soft, chewy, and light; the perfect macron! I would definitely recommend this place to friends as they have a wide array of options that look and smell wonderful.

Amazing bakery, the food is like the second time you had sex. The first was an awkward and uncomfortable and over way too fast. Trust me, you're the only one who really enjoyed it. The second time though, that's when you really started to get it figured out, tried out some stuff you saw on the internet, didnt feel you needed to apologize for anything, and couldnt wait for the next time. That what Macaroons and Goodies is like.

I had the blueberry cheesecake and it was one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. The crust was crumbly and coconut-y, the raspberries were flavorful and tart and the cheesecake texture was smooth and between light and heavy (quite different from a NY style cheesecake). The furniture and atmosphere was cute too. Can't wait to go back and try their other selections!

It’s unfortunate because I was excited to have a nice cafe close by to have a coffee and nice treat! Ambiance was nice, a bit too over crowded with the seating area and not much room really. The lady at the till was very friendly. The food looked delicious by unfortunate the macarons were hard as rock. They were covered by plastic wrap which makes me wonder how old they were, and if they were serving macarons that hard it made he hesitate on what the rest of their deserts would be like. also ordered a warm Apple cider and unfortunately it was terrible. If they maybe decreased the number of items they made They could have fresher things and definitely someone who knows how to make coffee and other drinks. This makes me sad because I so would have loved to make this a frequently visited spot.

This pastry shop is the hidden gem of St Albert and you cannot be in the area and not make a stop. The quality of french pastry found at Macarons & Goodies is a rarety in Alberta, so if you are looking for excellence this is the place short of a trip to Paris. The Mont Blanc is memorable, with just the right hint of vanilla chestnut cream. The éclair au chocolat is sublime, pleasantly lacking that overwhelming pound of sugar you find in other establishments. The lattés are top notch, and the cozy setting will make you want to sit down with a book or friends (2 m appart and with masks) and soak it all in. The service is outstanding, and always pleasant.

A part of Paris right here in St. Albert. Ever since this place opened I have been there many times, enjoying the most amazing pastries as well as finding out about their breakfast and lunch menu. The Eggs Benedict and the Salmon on flatbread are beyond amazing. I absolutely love the cozy setting , and many times have I taken my dear friends there. It never disappoints. Merci beaucoup!

I really like the desserts and the sandwiches are unique and delicious, the only complaint I have is the bread is crusty/stale on the outside.. I’m not sure if it is from sitting in a glass display without wrap or because they are sent out in styrofoam containers which allows air to reach the bread .. I thought it was a one-time thing so I gave the place another chance .. nope, bread on the outside dried out again .. I really wanted to like this place and the sandwich is great .. just pricey for stale bread , I’m sure using plastic wrap could prevent this, the bread is fresh on the inside. We ordered lunch today and skipped Macarons due to this ongoing issue with the bread on our sandwiches. Hopefully you can remedy this issue.

I absolutely love the Lavender Macaroons! When I go to the city this is always a stop. Have to get a dozen Lavender and a dozen Salted Caramel to hold us over until the next city trip! There is AMAZING food here as well. The soup and sandwiches are the best on a cold day!

I hosted a tea party themed bachelorette party and we needed some delicious goodies. We had an array of mini sandwiches and sweet treats and I couldn't possibly be more happy. Everything was perfectly beautiful and tasted fantastic. The communication from the team was on pointe as well. I highly recommend these folks for any of your catering needs!

It looks like a cafe but it's actually Italian fine dining. We only went in for dessert (which tasted fabulous), but will certainly be back for a meal. NOTE: We did go back in an evening but since we had not made reservations, we didn't stay for supper. But the fact that it's so popular means the food must be great!.

Lovely place. A beautifully decorated patisserie, I enjoyed the raspberry chocolate cake, so light but with rich flavours. Such a selection it was very hard to choose just one. They also have a full menu of savoury food too, sandwiches, salads and crepes (both sweet and savoury).

I have been here a handful of times now and have never been disappointed. The quality of the desserts and pastries is very high, you could drop this place in the middle of Paris and it could hold its own. I have only had lunch there one time and it was good, but I keep going back (or ordering online) for the pastries and sweets, which are fantastic, with a lot of choice.

I'm normally reluctant to leave a bad review but in this case it's warranted. The place is nice and the staff is friendly, but every dessert we ordered was flawed. The Macarons were hard as a rock. The pastry was dry and stale. Worst was the eclairs...bit into one and it had completely gone bad. The cream was sour and tasted like rotting cheese. I am thankful I didn't swallow it but I was sick from the taste. Food poisoning averted. Been to many bakeries (including France where Macarons are a specialty) and I am a skilled baker myself. This food was so disappointing and the spoiled pastry cream unacceptable :(

I’m in love with their macarons! They have the best in town & I love the service I receive from the owner but the white girl with glasses that works sometimes in the day needs to work on her customer service. She didn’t greet me nor was she friendly at all when I was choosing my deserts kept telling me to wait & to be patient In a rude tone. I wasn’t sure why since I wasn’t rushing her at all. Maybe a bad day I guess but definitely shouldn’t treat customers like that at all

Love this sweet little french cafe. I've been going in at least once a month for just about a year now, and it is hands down the best cafe in the area. I always get a latte and i have tried a huge assortment of their pastries. Favourites so far: the apple turn over, the red fruit beignette, and the four seasons quiche. (So GOOD! Grilled vegetables, and a buttery/ flakey crust.) I work in the area, and I always wander over when I'm in need of a pick me up. I recommend this place to everyone!

The macaroons are amazing!! But I feel like you should know the difference between a cappuccino and a latte.... Cappuccino is an espresso based drink, with 1/3 espresso, 1/3 steamed milk, and 1/3 wet foamed milk. The difference between a latte and a cappuccino is the milk content. Latte has a lot of milk, whereas cappuccino is a strong coffee.

Lovely decor inside. Very friendly staff. Quality of the pastries were very poor: flavours were bland, pastries didn’t taste fresh. Everything tasted like it was made with margarine or shortening rather than butter. If you’re looking for classic French style pastries skip this place.

My office is downtown St. Albert, and while there are other coffee shops closer to my work, I always walk the extra block for one of their croissants and a coffee. Was so excited to seek this bakery out so I could find something special to buy for family. That didn't last long.. Just a small request to put some goodies together add some ribbons make it pretty, resulted in the owner snarling at me for asking! I was willing to pay extra if needed. When her employee attempted to still add the ribbon, she snapped at her too! Left feeling very unwelcome. Noticed how she came out of the kitchen without a mask and as soon as an elderly couple walked in, she rushed to put on a face shield. Just very unpleasant really.... Glad that didn't happen New Year's Eve to ruin my year end.. But the day before..

This place was really good when it first opened. Cake was always fresh and tasted good. Then, a couple months later everything changed. Overnight, cake and pies shrunk and prices went up. The pie crust tastes like the frozen one you get at the store and is definitely different from the one they used to make. The cream in the cake tastes weird. I learned later on they freeze their cake and microwave it in the morning. Also their croissants are NOT made by the cook. They're the frozen ones you get in bulk!! This is very disappointing given the prices and false advertising! I know the owner will probably respond by saying all their food is freshly made daily and all but I know it's not. They think the customers won't notice these changes...

Stopped in for a quick Saturday lunch while downtown St Albert. Pleasantly surprised. Scottish sandwich with smoked salmon very nice. Atlantic crepe with salmon also very nice. Plan to come back again. Large range of sandwiches and pasteries on site.

I give 3 stars because the first time i ate there, was absolutely amazing. I recently ordered a tuna sandwich and brulee on skip. The sandwich bread was rock hard and the brulee was frozen. - I know places have off days, maybe the fridge was set to cold. If i get another opportunity i will give them another go. Hopefully nothing frozen next time. Note to owner: my bad I changed it to 5 star I ordered from here a week ago and the food was amazing my order today was the other location :) I’ll make sure to review the correct place and ensure I only order from this location in the future :)

Went with my friend for afternoon tea at the St Albert location. The food was delicious, every item on the menu was tasty. The place itself has a nice bakery / bistro feel to it, very comfortable and relaxing. Definitely a huge fan of the macarons! Nailed the amount of crunchiness and soft; filling was perfect. Really great baked goods. The store is quite charming and spending an afternoon there was quite the enjoyable experience. There are so many flavours of macarons but I think my favorite would have to be salted caramel, that would be my recommendation. There are also a wide variety of other baked goods so I definitely have to come back to try different treats.

Delicious! My daughter is in love with their Macarons, there is a crazy amount of varieties in the flavours, 32 I think. So we come here for her special treat because there is always something she will like. They also have a huge case of different delicious looking treats. I have tried their gluten free options and they were so good as well.

My daughter and I referred to Macarons and Goodies multiple times because of their great quality cakes. They made us a beautiful hazelnut mille-feuille cakes, croissants of all sorts, mini fruit tarts, they were definitely delicious. It is a nice place to grab a coffee and a fine pastry! I would definetly recommend visiting this bakery!

Went here for lunch and was so disappointed. Found this place a few weeks ago walking around downtown St. Albert. Was super impressed. Cute home town feeling french bakery. Today went back for lunch and will never return. I ordered the Canadian which is 2 eggs with bacon and toast. I ordered my eggs scrambled and they were served to me partly raw. I mentioned it to the girl behind the counter and she said she would mention it to her? Whoever her is...I am assuming the cook. I wouldn't recommend the menu but the bakery items do look amazing.

We order our wedding cake and Macarons tower from Macarons and Goodies it was a big hit their Macarons so fresh and so yummy we asked for customized fushia and purple colour with touch of gold and for the cake it was the Montelimar cake (nougat with nuts and pistachio mousse ) Thanks a lot Fadoua for your help and your advices

Hidden gem for sure. Macaroons were fantastic and cheapest I can find around the city with a HUGE flavor selection.best Bakery by a stretch, I went closer to their closing and they still had lots of each flavor available! Will be coming back! :)

Absolutely addictive! We LOVE IT!! My family and I cannot get enough of the delicious goodies. The Macarons are the best in town hands down. The selection of desserts are amazing. We have tried all cakes, they all are mouthwatering and we always come back to try the next on menu. Its never a disappointment.
