I ordered my wedding cake from Queen City Cakes. They were very helpful when we went into the store to order the cake (we knew nothing of what we wanted) and it turned out amazing! They were also very accommodating when it came to arranging a pickup time & ensured that the cake was packed well for travel!

My sister ordered a cake for her wedding from Queen City Cakes for July. We received consistent reassurance for all of our questions as the cake was to be transported 8 hours. Needless to say, what we ordered and what we got was so disappointing and definitely put a damper on the event. We had to spend even more money then the $275 we paid for the cake, in flowers to make it look decent for pictures. Several of our guests also complained that the filling was sickly sweet and were unable to eat it. I reached out after the wedding and arrangements were made to receive some type of compensation which was never delivered upon. Even after sending several emails, all that was promised was someone would be in touch. Needless to say, we won't be recommending this place to anyone in the future.

Was on the road and ordered online the 6 inch birthday cake with the upside down ice-cream cone. The cake was as perfect as the photo and ready in one days notice. The superb customer service was met with an amazing tasting cake that was not too sweet! I would highly recommend Queen City Cakes to anyone looking for beautiful cakes that taste as good as they look.

I ordered my birthday cake here 2 years ago. We went here for heart truffles for Valentine’s Day. For Mother’s Day we got chocolate covered strawberries and stuffed cookies. I love the confetti sugar stuffed cookie

Ahhhmazing! Step inside Queen City Cakes and the atmosphere transports you away to another world. My mom held my bridal shower here last weekend and it was as if it were out of a fairy tale! I can't wait to see our wedding cake in September.

I experienced excellent service and a recieved a beautiful cake. However, the common feedback from those who ate the cake and myself was that we wished there was more cake and less buttercream layers. There was just too much buttercream which made the cake feel heavier than it needed to be. I understand that the density is required to allow the cake to be so tall...which is what Queen City Cakes are known for, but like others in the reviews have suggested, I think an option for a shorter cake that has thinner layers of buttercream would be a lovely alternative. Overall, staff and service was great but I hope to see more growth and improvements in the future.

LOVE the bb detox tea and they also sell the loose tea leaves to take home...the lemon macarons should be illegal, they're so exquisite! The ginger cream cheese pastry was delicious and a couple of bites was sufficient for me..save for later or share...I also bought their lemon bitters for cocktails, iced tea or where ever you want a strong lemon taste...cannolis were delicious too...The gentleman who helped me was delightful! Thank you.

This was our first time ordering from Queen City Cakes and it will not be our last. We got the Burst of Spring cake for our little girls 2nd birthday and it was amazing. The look, the taste, everything. Looked awesome with the pastel theme we ran for the decorations and it stood out nice. The macaroons on the cake were unreal. Even with the 5inch cake there was a good portion left over. The service was excellent as well. Totally recommend this place. They do cakes and more.

Purchased the Ice Fairy cake in Salted Caramel Pretzel as a treat for my birthday. The cake was beautiful and was delicious! The icing and cake in general was not sickly sweet which I was super happy about. I'm not a fan of macaroons so they modified the 'toppings' for me and it was lovely. Staff was super friendly and easy to deal with. Highly recommend QC Cakes if you are looking to impress or just treat yourself!

Although the cake is absolutely stunning and the service is amazing, the cake itself is not exceptional. Regarding the flavour, specifically the tiramisu cake, the cinnamon was slightly overpowering. The tiramisu flavour was drowned out. The design was immaculate, and the macaroons and cake truffles were both beautiful and delicious. Once again concerning the cake, it is understandable for the layers to be dense to hold such a tall cake up, but a suggestion for Queen City Cakes would be to have an option to have a shorter cake that can allow a nicer texture of a soft moist cake. The staff and service however was extremely kind, very easy to understand, and helpful. I'm excited to hopefully have improvements on my next order!

My experience at Queen City Cakes was remarkable the second I walked through the door. The space is so pleasing to be in with beautiful and elegant touches throughout. Jaryd is so friendly and helpful and was so sweet and funny as he compiled a little box of goodies for me to take back home across the province. I brought them to my coworkers and they were astounded at the beauty and the quality of the treats! Definitely brought smiles to their faces. Thanks again!

See attached what was ordered on upper left hand versus what was received from Queen City on lower right hand side of pic. Tried to tell the ladies there that the colour is way off and was told its a true match. Feel free to draw your own conclusion. I'm terribly disappointed to say the least. My cake from Queen City last mother's day was beautiful. I'm sorry I can't say the same about this one which is for my daughter's birthday.

I am so happy with my experience, the first time I ordered was for my sister’s birthday and we got a lot of compliments, the second time was a two-tier cinderella cake with an edible carriage topper, I had some issues with it so I talked to Jared and he kindly offered me a 5-inch complimentary at the date of my choosing, today I picked it up and I was so happy that it is wrapped elegantly and was made professionaly even though it is a one-time complimentary. I am going to order from Jared in every birthday of each of our family members from now on and I am referring him to all my friends. Thank you so much Jared for giving us a happy experience and your cake is very delicious too which is a bonus. May your business continue to flourish and prosper.

Contrary to previously stated there is plenty of selection to choose from. Lovely little bakery with beautiful treats that taste DELICIOUS. Got to try the salted caramel truffle and it was to die for! Saw some of the cakes in person and they are so beautiful. We got a dozen assorted macarons and every flavor was awesome

I’ll take this down to one star because of the poor response given. Nearing a year later and nothing was offered to rectify the horrible cake that was also the WRONG CAKE. Pathetic. The service is great and the products are beautiful. That being said it is most definitely not worth the price tag, my sister was wowed by the appearance of her cake but the whole family agreed that the texture was too dense, there was far too much icing between the four layers of cake and it wasn’t that great. I also ordered a confetti cake and it was just a vanilla cake on the inside. I personally didn’t try the cake because they do not offer vegan products which is another disappointment. The fondant plate on the front of the cake was also done with an edible marker that was more than likely on its last legs of life. For $115.00 I expected much more considering its only six inches.

The owner is incredibly abusive to his employees, employees that go above and beyond with unpaid OT, unpaid use of personal vehicles. Just to be verbally and physically abused on a daily basis. I used to support this business but I promise you it's the last time I'll support anyone that treats people like that, non the less thier employees. I encourage everyone to do the same.

Sure a beautiful space but for a drop in client there was not to much selection, it took a really long time to get service (there was only one person in front of me) and I picked 5 of the cookies with the icing in between and after I found the first 2 had hair in them I threw the rest out.

My family surprised me with a most beautiful cake from Queen City cakes for my birthday. It was a delicious chocolate and vanilla tower cake iced in a delicate pink and white icing. It was embellished with gold writing and tiny birds, yummy cherry blossoms, raspberry cake pops and luscious macaroons topped with mauve and pink roses. Thank you Queen City cakes for your amazing work and my family for their thoughtfulness. The cake came with cutting instructions which were most helpful. Five stars all the way.

*Edit, 3 to now 5 stars, as Jared professionally handled our issue and got our treat box as promised. Mistakes happen, thank you again Jared. - - My family has gotten three cakes from here since July, and the first two were great. The third one, was the most expensive and most disappointing. The lady I picked the cake up from was rude and made me feel unwelcomed (my first time inside the shop). Working in customer service, this couldn't go unsaid by me. I emailed my complaints. Jared contacted me by telephone promising treats to make up for the horrible service and misunderstanding on the third cake. Great, except we never received them.

He curated me a delicious assortment of decadent cake truffles, airy macarons, the best Nanaimo bars I have ever tasted and cupcakes you have to taste to believe.
