Had called during operating hours to obtain a quote for a birthday cake. Someone answered and was told they were not open - contrary to their website's info. I was instructed to e-mail them the picture of the cake and that they will get back to me the next morning. They did not get back to me until two days later, which was fine. And after giving them the rest of the information needed, I never heard anything from them again. I ended up going to another cake store who was very timely with their response and delivery.

I have always been in love with this place. I have never had bad product or bad service. But this past Thursday (before Good Friday), I called the store to ask if they were open on Good Friday, (as some bakeries had an order up front and they were open for pick up until noon). This person who answered was so snotty... that I had the audacity to even ask this. A simple “no I’m sorry we are not” would have been sufficient...but instead I received a lecture on how it was actually illegal (my words)...to be open due to permitting or something of this nature. And I will reiterate that she was appalled that I would even ask this. When I arrived home, I called again to ask what cupcakes they had on hand today (Thursday)...and again, the level of customer service was terrible! She said “well we have a lot”, so I said “well what flavours”?.....and she said “you can look when you come in”! I then told her that I don’t live in the area anymore BUT if she could be kind enough to tell me what she had, I can pick some out and have my son pick them up. That was painful. I totally felt like I was annoying her and she was inconvenienced. THEN unfortunately the cupcakes were very dry and I was shocked. Every person who ate one said the same thing. Like I said, the entire story is bazaar, as I have never had bad anything and they have always been kind. I am not sure I will be back. Too many other bakeries to choose from and have better service. I am ALL about the service. I would have returned even after the dry cupcakes had the service been top notch. This will make or break you. People talk about this kind of stuff. Word of mouth is everything. Anyways...it was worth sharing. I had no intentions of making a 3rd phone call to this establishment.

I bought cupcakes through the phone to be delivered for my friend's birthday that day, and I was really excited because the pictures made them look really yummy! They do free delivery since COVID (and this is very good and important as many local stores do this now). Unfortunately, my friend didn't get to try any of the cupcakes because although they were delivered, we never received them. We were told they were left in the vestibule out front, and that the house had a Christmas tree through the front window - my friend's house has neither of these. We do not think it was stolen because she lives in a relatively safe part of Peterborough. We honestly think it was delivered to a wrong address - which is understandable as this happens all the time now due to the high demand of deliveries during COVID and the Holidays. The worst part was that the owner was very aggressive to myself over the phone when I brought up the delivery issue. She offered to give my friend a few complementary cupcakes if she came to the store but that she could not re-offer the entire package. This seemed fair since they are a small business, but the owner's aggressive attitude resulted in a heated dispute with my friend's friend who accompanied her to the store. My friend ultimately didn't feel comfortable accepting any cupcakes from the store since this entire situation was handled so poorly. I got a call by the owner notifying me of what had occurred in the store and was informed that I would get a refund. The phone conversation was very odd since it felt like the person was lecturing me about what had happened, and brought up the race and accent of the recipient’s friend. This was definitely very upsetting to me, and seemed completely irrelevant to the issue at hand. At the end of the day, I am happy that I got my refund and put this whole thing to rest but I think this entire situation was grossly mishandled. I approached this issue very nicely and was met with resistance the entire way. Next time, I will choose a different bakery to buy from, even if this bakery has the best deserts in Peterborough, just because of how poorly they treat their customers.

these cupcakes are amazing, my favorite is the oreo, it is beyond good. i ordered through doordash late night and last minute. my order came to me perfectly wrapped and the cupcakes were so pretty. i'm for sure ordering for my sons first birthday. thank you!! and thank you for vegan options!!

100% YES! We ordered our wedding cake at Enticing Cakes. We did a tasting of flavors, played around with design and everything was so easy and so much fun. Due to covid we had to change our wedding date a few times, but they were always so nice and accommodating given the situation. When the cake arrived at the wedding, it was everything and more than we ever imagined. Tasted 100%, and looked 100%.

I came here for butter tarts - the filling was great but the pastry was weird so I wouldn't go here for butter tarts but the cakes on display were beautifully designed.

Really terrible for the price. We spent $50 on 16 cupcakes for a birthday, expecting the quality to justify the price. We asked for a simple mocha base and didn't specify the icing flavour. They gave us chocolate instead of mocha, with a thick layer of stale white icing. Even the lettering on the cake looked hastily applied. Extremely disappointed. We love buying locally - but we're definitely not buying from here again.

I don't know how old the red velvet cupcake I had was, but it was old!. The cake part had no moisture. And I had the icing first, so I didn't know, before trying the cake part, which is harder to tell how old it is because of the sugar in it. Nausea and stomach cramps started an hour or so later, it must have been well past its date where it was even safe to eat!

Great customer service. Ordered a pie and picked a few items from the display case. The pie was amazing, fresh and tasty. The baked goods in the display should be eaten same day as they don't keep well. Edit: Visited a few more times, updating to 5 stars.

After ordering a good mocha cake last year we ordered another mocha cake for my dad's birthday (since they aren't available in regular stores any more) from this store. This year was a huge disappointment. Instead of a mocha cake they made us a regular old, itty bitty, chocolate cake with white icing that would be more suited to a kindergarten cookie decorating class. When we brought their mistake to their attention they refused to acknowledge it. Will NEVER buy from this overpriced bakery again.

I had my wedding cake made by enticing cakes. I could not have been more pleased. Our cake looked Identical to the picture I brought in. Her attention to detail was amazing and the cake wad moist and delicious. Highly recomend!

Once again, I arrived to pick up a cake for a pre-wedding event and it was a work of art! Given a description of the venue (a lavender farm with beehives), the honey lavender cake was decorated with both bees and lavender! It was delicious and a big hit with the bride and her friends at the shower. I can always count on the baker and decorator(s) to come up with unique cake. Thanks so much. I’ll be back!

Not unlike the other reviews I found everything dry and below par. Should have been a hint when the lady on phone was quite short with basic questions and not a hint of friendliness. Will find another local bakery going forward.

My mother-in-law is 84, needs a cane to walk and went there recently to pick up a cake. Although she was parked right out front, the lady at the counter wouldn't put the cake in her car or even help her take the cake out. This is very disappointing and extremely poor customer service. My mother-in-law had to struggle navigating the door, step and cake to not fall and injure herslef. She was a return customer that won't be back.

Found this bakery on the internet, called and ordered a small cherry cake. The lady was friendly and helpful, the cake was delicious, decorated beautifully with tons of cherries on top. Will definitely shop here again! ????

its a shame you can't rate 0 stars. dry, stale, old. Responses from owners on any negative review are combative and speak volumes to their business. would not recommend this place when there are lots of other fantastic bakeries in town, all whom seem to have a better attitude than these people.

Very over priced for the product. Was very clear bringing pictures when I ordered but the centre piece was small and wrong. Was told that I was unclear and they did not apologize for their error. They did do a last minute fix but I was still very disappointed with cake. Will not be returning nor will I recommend them. Save yourself a trip and shop else where if you want quality looking product for your money. Very poor value.

Ordered a theme birthday cake in February. They did an awesome job!!! Gave them a pic of an Allis Chalmers Tractor, and they did an amazing job of the edible (not rice paper) image right down to wires, oil filter, engine outline.......Stunning job!!! The cake was the best, fresh and tasty!! Will go back for more!!!

First time going there, had high expectations but was very disappointed! Peanut butter cookies tasted about 5-7 days old and didn't even taste like peanut butter. The cupcakes looked nice but are going in the garbage...very stale! Advice... Toss yesterday's baked goods and start with fresh products each morning. You're going to lose far more money upsetting customers than tossing out some day old cookies & cupcakes ...they won't come back nor will the people they tell. The customer is always right...they're the reason you'll succeed or fail at your business so keep them happy & they'll spread the word! Also, I wouldn't leave the cupcakes out in the open...they need to be covered up. I hate to say this but I'm sticking to Tim Hortons baked fresh daily cookies & Sobeys for cakes & cupcakes!! $13 for 4 cupcakes & 3 cookies....in the trash!

Ordered Cupcakes for delivery for my daughter’s birthday. They were to be delivered after 2PM on Saturday. I told my daughter that there was a delivery expected. She was home and waited, as did her 4 roommates. They kept checking, the doorbell never rang and nothing was delivered. When the bakery reopened on Wednesday, I called to see what happened. I was expecting a pleasant conversation with an offer to look into it for me. The person who took my call was not friendly and didn’t seems to care that the cupcakes were not delivered. Said they left the shop and maybe someone took them from the door step. I asked if she could check with her driver to see if something happened and call me back. She said I’ll look into it and hung up. There was no kindness or compassion. She never called me back. A simple “ I am sorry there was a problem, my delivery person is very reliable” and then follow up with me would have been greatly appreciated. My daughter is away at University for the next 3 years, I would have been a repeat customer. My other daughter is in Oakville, also away at school. We found an amazing local bakery that sends us notifications of delivery and according to my daughter and her roommates makes the best cookies ever. Consequently, we order from them for every celebration and are always thrilled by their product, costumer service, and timely delivery. Wish they delivered to Peterborough! I have never written a review for them, just am a loyal repeat customer for the past 3 years. After this, I will write a review for them, they deserve a glowing one.As for Enticing Cakes very disappointed in the entire experience. I have no idea on the quality or taste of their baked goods, but the customer service is terrible.
