This Bakery corresponds to the category of Grocery store.
Good prices and I can always find what I'm looking for. Line-ups during the day are very reasonable. Parking lot feels a bit small at times for the location. Overall a great No Frills location and a great place to shop.
This Has To Be The Best No Frills I've Ever Shopped At. The Most Friendliest Staff And The Cleanest Store. Cashiers Are Quick And Accurate. Even With The State Of Mind With This Virus, Staff Are Amazingly Polite And Helpful. Prices Are Very Reasonable And The Shelves Are Always Full. Produce Is Amazingly Fresh. It's Worth The Hour Drive To Shop Here On The Weekend.
Love this place everyone is so helpful they all have a smile. Way nicer than the customers. Great selection of items from vegetables, meats and all other basic item we all need. The price is always lower than other supermarkets.
The people are great and their newly added click and collect service makes them my number one grocery store
Honestly, the produce is awful. I spent a lot of time picking out spoiled squished stuff. I didnt even bother buying lemons they were so bad. I got my basics and left. Selection was pretty awful compared to downtown. Service however was good. Polite and helpful staff.
good store..no long line ups cause they actually put enuf cashiers on to move things quickly!!! Freshco. needs to do this!!
Has everything I need for a "normal" grocery run. Good prices and produce has never disappointed. Doesn't have fancy items but "no frills" is pretty up front about that in the name. I continue to shop here for my basic grocery needs.
The layout is like other No Frills so coming across it from out of town is like stepping into a comforting familiarity. It's up to standard in cleanliness and the cashier was friendly. The produce section is immediately in front of the entrance and everything seems fresh enough.
Wasn't too impressed with this place. More expensive than anticipated for being a No frills ... products were missing off shelves. Produce was not good for prices being asked. I'm giving it a 3-star because of the employees they were all very nice and friendly no issues with them at all.
The store is improving; in fact its in renovations. The store is looking good -brighter and cleaner. I hope they consider their washroom facility as it is always in an alarming state of uncleanliness. It would also be nice to have 2-3feet more space at the end of the checkouts as it is always overcrowded when the store is busy; impacting time to exit the store efficiently. The staff are always friendly, and it is nice to be recognized as a regular customer. I am disappointed they have changed their hours to an 8pm closing time.
This is great store! I have ordered online and have done the PC pick up and it's been amazing. The staff are so friendly and they call me when they have to substitute something. Great place!
Toxic work environment. Staff isn’t treated properly, owner doesn’t care about professionalism even when dealing with young highschool students.
Definitely my go-to for groceries that don't break the bank. They have everything you need and a decent selection without feeling too crowded. Produce is typically in healthy condition and they often have discounted. Staff are very helpful and promote a community feel. This place is my weekly shop.
Typically no frills , typically needs a face-lift. Prices are reasonable. Stocking staff are always to busy to help and when pressed to look for an item due nothing on the shelf always come back mt handed. Cashiers are ok but a real pain to have to pack your own groceries plus side price match anyone. Never seen a manager or asset manager can't find where they hide .... check dates of expiry carefully .....
There are a few employees here (and the other shops in these two plazas) that are really rude to visible minorities. So don't be shocked if that happens just look for another employee or try not to take that cashier again, 85% of the staff are great, and the selection for different foods and gluten and dairy free options is amazing (at really good prices)
Must have arrived just before meat dept was refilled. Got what I needed
Could have a bit more variety or sometimes quantity of the goods. The quality of the produce is also generally poorer than the other store in the town. You would imagine it would've been pretty close since they most likely order their stuff from the same suppliers.
Always get fresh food and fruit at cheap prices
Staff is friendly and helpful. Clean & organized store.I appreciate the organic aisle where prices are better than in other stores.
Bring a quarter for your cart, they're no longer cleaning them at the door. Long lines, really not worth going for less than a cart full.
Never shop here on Sundays. They don't now how to place orders. This past Sunday they had no Banana's, ground chicken, hardly any bread to choose from and the produce was looking poor. To top it off only 1 cashier was open and 4 cashiers stood around a till talking and not helping out one customer. I had a baby with me and am stunned none of them offered to help bag my groceries. I know it is not their job but try to earn you 14 dollar minimum wage. There are no hand sensitization stations in the whole store and most of the time the carts have trash in them.
Terrible, disorganized, feels dirty, cramped and associates don't seem to know where anything is. Aisles aren't clearly marked. Selection wasn't good, can go across to Shoppers and get what I need more easily than here. Overall not impressed at all.
Everything on your grocery list will be found here. There is plenty of parking, the store is super clean and well organized, friendly staff.
Great deals. But aisles are narrow
Visit was okay. It is great they have a much larger gluten free section. However I noticed that there was regular box of eggos stashed in the gluten free bread freezer. When I mentioned it to one of the staff she just smiled and kept on walking. Guess they're not too concerned about cross contamination.
No Frills does (usually) offer the best prices ... produce is always fresh, meat is good, shelves are stocked (unless it's an exceptionally good sale and all has been scoffed off the shelf), AND there's always a cashier at a register to ring up your purchases. No bell ringing "for service". On busier days, its 'all hands on deck' for check-outs. Yes, line ups can be longer than usual at month-end or special sale days, but it's worth the wait to save a 'buck or two'. Today is October 26, 2020 ... Almost 9 months into the pandemic but No Frills is up and running as usual and has been since day 1. The system of getting groceries checked through by a real person (the cashier) has greatly improved since the days before the pandemic. You only wait for a brief period of time and then you're guided to a cashier whose last customer has cleared. The system works well since you're not in, what appeared to be, a short line-up only to spend valuable time waiting. They have a good plan which should continue if we ever get the all clear on C-19. It is still a requirement to line up outside the store to obtain a recently sanitized cart from an employee. And you have to return the cart to the employee after you've loaded your groceries into your vehicle. It's a good system !!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Always a good place for staple items. Nice produce, but if you are looking for something fancy, keep going. But if you want to save a buck which is why we have No Frills, then this is your stop!
Just leaving this No Frills and will not be coming back. I head to the check out carrying my basket and place my items on the counter. Once out of my basket I count 15 things and I'm in the 12 and under check out. There is one lady behind me holding a single item, so I ask her if she wants to go ahead of me. She moves ahead with a smile and a 'thank you'. The one older gentleman ahead of us is having a hard time with his bank card not working in the machine. The checkout lady is getting snippy with him. Check out lady notices that single item lady has gone ahead of me and gives her a scowl. I lean in and say 'it's okay, I told her to go ahead because she only had one item'. Check out last turns the scowl to me and tells me in a very rude tone 'you have too many things. This is for 12 items or less'. I apologize and consider moving but she begins checking me out still angry, tossing my produce over roughly then dropping boxed items on top of said kiwi / bananas. She was just so angry! She repeats that I have too many things. I repeat my apology. After checking out I turn to look for boxes... There are none! I ask her where I can find a box and she said 'we don't do those anymore. In fact, we haven't done that for 2 months'. Basically, in the 4 minute interaction I had with her, she accused me of being too stupid to count to 12, and made me feel awful for not asking for bags that I didn't know I would need! (and no, she never asked me if I wanted to purchase any when I was checking out). I asked her if I could please purchase 4 bags. She rolled her eyes at me, stuck out her hand and said '20 cents'. I said I'd need debit (as I had no cash). This made her so angry with me that the gentleman next in line gave her the 20 cents... Just to save us all. So... I will not be coming back. The extra 2 minute drive to get to Sobeys is worth my self respect.
Disappointed with my cashier. She coughed on her hand serving the person before and I didn't see any sign of her using sanitizer before handling my purchases. Also while I was still bagging, she ran the next customer (a couple) through the till, and let them come through to bag in my immediate proximity. She needed to sanitize after coughing, or perhaps not be at work with a cough like that. She also should have sent that customer to another checkout or wait until my items were bagged, and I was leaving the area, before starting the next customer. I'm not sure I'll be returning to this store during covid.
Love this store. Always great service and so clean.
I entered the store and did my shopping, noting that the shelves seemed rather bare in places. I stood politely in line waiting to be served. I was called up but when the cashier saw me without a mask, she gestured to her mask and turned and walked away without speaking to me. Someone else very politely served me. But the first cashier with a long blonde ponytail was busy talking to another staff member about it as I left. I also noted a huge sign saying the store will not longer be honoring mask exemptions. So I will no longer shop at this No Frills. Your loss, Chub & Nikki.
Great place to shop wonderfull statf
Great selection of fresh veg and fruit. Wide variety of food choices. Wide aisle for great wheelchair access. Great sanitation policy.
There is a wide variety of good quality, cheap product, and the shelves are usually stocked. Everything a college student to a senior could need. The only problem with this particular No Frills is that lines that are always long, and it takes forever to leave. Overall a good establishment.
There is good parking and lots of carts. Inside there is mostly stocked shelves. When I was there they had some empty spots on shelves, stuff I was looking for of course. So that sucked a bit. But other than that it was as pleasant as it could be. Fresh fruit, fresh everything mostly. Good store, except for the emptiness from time to time.
Friendly staff, spacious aisles, well stocked and clean.
Smallish No Frills. Nice workers, but limited in stock on many things. Usually better off going to George Street location.
Recently decided to start eating healthier and had a long list of fresh produce and healthy items on my list. Ken's No Frills had absolutely everything I needed at good prices. There were 4 cashes open at 12:45pm on Thursday when I attended so wait time was minimal. All in all, a great store!
I picked up an online grocery order thru PC express. The order was complete and respectfully bagged. Kim, went above and beyond. I'm disabled and she brought my groceries right out to me. Once she noticed I was indeed disabled she offered this special service to me going forward as well. Amazing customer retention and service Kim.
I have been shopping at No Frills for years as well as other stores but I always like this store in particular. They always have good sales as well. Today I needed more bread on sale and Ryerson Manley, a very nice young man and charming employee got it for me. It was a pleasure to deal with him.
Nice clean store. Great produce and meat. Great service
Wont be going back any time in the foreseeable future. Long lineups with customers' carts full and there was at least 1 if not 2 check outs not open, in addition to the Express line not open. Stock personnel should be crossed trained to work the registers or how about self serve check outs!
This store is very busy and is usually well stocked. I find the layout seems a bit strange, but it works
Nice store, prices are good. I live in a town that only has a Sobey's and there's a huge difference in prices!! Sobey's should be charged with theft! They are way out of line.
Always a good experience .Helpful courtious.
I really like No Frills The staff was great. However today in the store, customers were pushy, grouchy and rude. Merry sad Christmas.
My go to grocery store that won't break my bank! Very friendly atmosphere. There is a lot of variety in this store which I love! Very friendly service at the cash, which makes a customer want to come back! If I could give 10 stars I would! :)
Like shopping there. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Produce is fresh and laid out nicely. Prices are right!!
Stuff everywhere with very little space to walk around. Wet floor with no warning sign. As a result I felt and the owner didn't even apologize. Only asked me to introduce myself next time I'm there.
Unfortunately the no frills downtown is way better then the west end one and it's even cheaper. I'm not cheap but with the price of food 50 cents here and 50 cents there adds up pretty quickly.
Plan on going to another store if you have a shopping list. The No Frills flyer means nothing at this store.
Since Ken has sold the store. It very dirty looking and doesnt stick the store the same. Sales clerks that let international students go threw the 1 -12 line with 20 items. When I made a comment about it. She said "they go back to the manger and she gets yelled at from him. That's her job to control the situation in lines not ignore. This was before the covert 19 virus.
Excellent job, those that work at Chub & Nikki's No Frills deserve our appreciation for an excellent job at a time when putting yourself out there to make sure we can get our essential needs. Respectfully hope you have all been keeping well. Greatly appreciated. Thank you
During covid time, carts were cleaned and hand to patrons, store was clean, most items were in stock. Arrows on the floor, most people were following rules and .ost staff were friendly. There was a bit of a line up at checkout. Goot store good prices but during these times there wasn't a lot of sale items.
They have been outstanding during the entire time during this Covid pandemic. Well organized inside and out. Best place in Peterborough to shop and feel safe. Keep up the great work
Produce goes bad after 2 days.. place is packed full of people. It lined up is like to get out of the store is like trying to get on space mountain in Disneyland. Decent prices
Busy but lots of selection. Friendly and helpful staff
Great selection, prices and service! Also one of the more organized grocery stores I have seen as far as covid protocol
I have not been in there for yrs .....just needed a change . Cleaner then it was a few yrs ago and didn't smell bad ....was clean and well organized .....must say I was impressed and will.shop there here and there again ......pandemic drives u to new and old places to feel part of the world safely.......and the dollerstore is right there ....giant tiger is across the road and timmies and ......restaurant for lunch or just a quick bite. ????
So pleased with this No Frills. Everyone is so friendly and really seem to enjoy their jobs. Chris in produce was a big help! Friendly and knowledgeable. Appreciate all that the grocery store workers are doing.
Quality of products is being decreased while prices increased. Freshco is catching up in quality and prices. All my neighbours switched to Loblaws or Freshco recently.
Why does “Chub & Nikki's No Frills” not have consistent and accurate pricing with “pre-selected/pre-packaged” grocery items and further the resistance from "ownership" regarding concern and understood relationship to “Scanning code of practice”? Perhaps many people can relate to this shopping at this store which is challenged in space, and you get to the checkout and something is not perceivably correct? Yet beyond our shared anecdotal experience, let us consider a specific item and tactics of inconsistent and, inaccurate pricing, and the lack of "ownership", not offering any solution or adhering to the “Scanning code of practice” which apparently "Chub and Nikki's No Frills” is to adhere to Let us consider, with the picture attached, the following; Are grocery items priced, “per”, such as “/100g”, or per unit? Generally understood, consistent grocery retail practice, grocery items are both, such as but may not be limited to When there can be variation (or "variable") in weight the advertised price is “per”, such as “/100g”, When there is “pre-selected/pre-packaged”, the price is per “unit” ie package of chips or even package of seeds Further, let us consider if the grocery store was priced per "/100g" on everything and how that might be a challenge to understanding the final price on “pre-selected/pre-packaged” items and perhaps why pricing is not done this way, as perhaps retailers pricing tactic may be to advertise the “the lowest price” not the actual price (See picture attached “Mixed nuts (which number is initial noticed and predominant) Prominently perceived advertised price is $2.97 (per 100g), but at checkout $10.51 which seems a significant difference in comparison to each other. Due to the small print of "per" "/100g. $2.97 X 354g “pre-selected/pre-packaged”) Yet in the same section there are “pre-selected/pre-packaged” grocery items that the price is as advertised and not "per/100g" When brought to the concern attention of “ownership”, there was resistance understanding of the above, perceived as complaint, defending as “clearly labeled”, even though, as mentioned and further the item is facing up and the advertised price is person facing at knee/shin height. No compromise or cooperative resolution to address concern was stated or offered. No “ownership” was taken of this understood inconsistent, inaccurate pricing, and therefore, perceivably misleading, which is understood to be contrary to the “Scanning code of practice”, which “Chub & Nikki's No Frills” doesn’t seem to adhere to, though the code is voluntary however there are signs are in the store. With another review of the picture, let us consider which number is predominant. Perhaps an understanding will be shared if we consider care and communicate. With the understanding that certain grocery items could be once "variable" in weight and now“pre-selected/pre-packaged”, for heath and safety rationale, the corporation could update their computers, and if that is not cost effective, perhaps “ownership” could supply employees with a bold marker or some other bold writing utensil so to plainly communicate price of “pre-selected/pre-packaged” grocery items to members of the community and customers. Lastly but not least, understanding and empathizing that as we age our vision and perspective can change to. Be aware of this or similar pricing or lack of pricing tactics and decide before you purchase at "Chub & Nikki's No Frills". As an alternative I understand there is a Greg’s No Frills on George Street in Peterborough. Thank you very much for your attention, reading and consideration, may good health and well-being be with you all on your journey
The store is built on a hill, so the parking lot is tilted. I like to go here for price matching, when other stores have run out of PC products I want to buy at sale price. Cashiers are friendly and helpful.
I haven't been in a no frills or any other large chain store since they started lining people up and having them follow arrows with puzzles on. Not happening. Good riddance to you and every other big business practicing draconian measures.
Chub and Nikki’s No Frills has the greatest staff ever! Everyone who works there really goes out of their way to make customers feel welcome. The store is very clean and welcoming....which says lots of their owners, who really care about their store. As a customer, Chub and Nikki’s No Frills goes way above in making us feel welcome! During these challenging times, they are really doing their best, which is amazing! THANK YOU to each and every employee
Beautiful store very clean and well kept
Didn't have a wide selection, found a couple produce items that I reached for were moldy or rotten. And the stores aisle arrows aren't layed out in a very consistent manner. Didn't look to have proper cart sanitation either, and no employees at the door monitoring cart sanitizing. Customers coming into the store may be grabbing carts that haven't been sanitized yet. The George St No frills is a much better, cleaner experience. I wouldn't recommend the west end No Frills.
It was a great day. Early in the morning no one here. The staff r usually always super friendly today the guys doing the stocking wete awesome friendly and did their best to accommodate. There is just one cashier there i dont like but i just avoid her. She needs an attitude adjustment.
I like the products and the sales. I had a run in with the manager/owner about honouring prices posted on the shelves. I still shop here, but I'm very careful to check my receipt every time to make sure I pay the price that was posted.
Well organized store prices are good friendly staff some empty shells but not too much especially the specials
Love this no frills..Upscale.Clean..Same great prices
I very rarely shop here. Went in looking for one item in particular and they didn't have it. Staff isn't overly friendly.
I am in this store 3 or 4 times a week. I always bring my own bags and ask for my points. The clerks NEVER give me my bag points. They always have an excuse. Just now I asked the clerk 3 times for my bag points and he told me yes they are on there. He handed me my receipt and they weren't on there. He gave me some lame excuse. I think they are trained to not give out the points. Ever since the new owners took over the store has gone downhill.
Store always clean and good quality
I was getting a couple of things between appointments, I put everything back when I saw a lineup for registers. Poorly setup.
Doesn’t follow covid protocols, I’ve witnessed the way the owner yells and cashiers the past two times I’ve been in. All the cashiers are so lovely but the store has gone down hill since the new owner. Will never shop here again, at least untill the owner starts respecting his employees, And Wearing his mask properly
Great small store. What impressed me Feb 19 2021 at about 4 pm is all the school students putting things on shelfs were so helpfull to find things for me. We only shop there about every two months. They all hunted with enthusiasm and very polite.
Cheap place to shop, watch the expiry dates. All the chicken wings were expired today. Staff are friendly you can get in and out fairly quickly.
They have an attendant spraying down carts with sanitizer outside and store was nicely spaced out. Prices were great, but the entrance/exit was a bit tight.
Good place to shop to stock up on food items.
