This Bakery belongs to the category of Grocery store.
Great store. Had everything I needed. Very orderly way of checking out during Covid protocols.
Very helpful and friendly staff!
Good selection of produce and non-perishables
Very good store doing everything to keep people safe social distancing and shelves stocked
Good selection of organic products compared to other stores. I only use curbside pickup for a year now, and they do my shopping. Works very well with few mistakes. I love their online ordering system.
Unlike big chains, these guys have 1 line and it s EMA long, but it moves insanely fast! Great store && helpful staff! Wish the big guys ran things this way!
Nice store but not a fan of the snaking line up method for cashiers
Well prepared for safety, there is some confusion upon entry as the flow of traffic has been slightly changed, but nothing major
Your “security guard” who is handling everyones carts should be wearing a mask! It was conveniently hanging around his neck...also why bother to have specials that start on Thursday IE: chicken thighs...just to have none on Friday? And then I ask the kid behind the counter...he shrugs and says “they must be around” really?
Crowded aisles! Too much stuck out of aisles for maneuvering cart. Big store, lots of walking. Best produce in area. Packers need training. No offer for carry out. Large cart doesn't hold as much as you think. Little cartsare maneuverable and you can hang bags on it too! Staff are friendly.
Great people and great products
Good small grocery store for basic needs. Was hard for us to find a good premade salad that wasn't starting to go off. Other than that it is good
Good quality and selection. Store is clean and bright.
Everything you need in a store but with the added bonus knowing that the money you spend also goes to help so many different community progects. Not to mention the friendly service you receive.
I think it's time to eliminate the silly line ups around the store and use the extra staff person who is saying who goes to which cashier next should just go on cash to make the lines move faster. Most stores are back to normal with this now.
Store is always clean Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Usually plenty of deals to be found and shelves fridges etc always full or next to being well stocked. Busy busy busy place but not too bad of a wait considering the amount of people who shop there.
Everyone here tries so hard to keep the customers happy. Such a pleasure shopping here.
Tough times for grocery stores.
Friendly staff..well kept store.. grocery bags are paper thin and overpacked. Nothing like having your groceries splattered all over the parking lot.. :(
Great store the cashiers are helpful and they had everything me and my family needed
Very clean and the cashier and bagger very friendly We just moved to the area and are glad to have such a nice friendly grocery store
Good store, bad parking lot. Nice selection of fruits and vegetables. Would like to see a larger selection of Asian cuisine items.
Staff with masks hanging from one ear, politely asked to wear it and refused. Asked the manager if it was policy and he said “get over yourself!’” Rude and ineffective!
Very busy(Sat.)..yet very organized. Many staff available to help.
A great place to shop, with special mention of the helpful and friendly PC Express staff. Thank you all.
Great experience in Perth. The bakery ladies were helpful and very pleasant. Thank you Taylor and Olivia! We asked them for a cake and to put whatever writing they wanted on it. We only looked when we returned home and it was a perfect message for a perfect end to our day! It really is a great day for cake!
I have been shopping here for over fifteen years. Large enough to have a great selection and pretty much everything I ever need name brand and generic choices . Some complain about prices but I shop the specials and it works well for me and my family. Staff are local and very friendly. You can often see Mr Barnaby helping out on the store floor. Always a close parking spots. Can get very busy especially in the summers but I go in the evening about an hour before closing. When it is busy I'm always surprised by the short check out lines.
The system this store insists on maintaining for check out is ridiculous. You must line up across the front of the store and all the way down the frozen produce aisle, even in the mid-afternoon of a weekday, to wait to be directed to a cash. So if, like me, you have 2 bags of hot dog buns then you still wait for the 16 (I counted) customers ahead to check out. This is no longer a required Covid protocol. Time to put more cashiers to work and let people choose the cash of their choice!
I'm not certain about reviewing a grocery store but.. here I go; They had all the groceries I wanted and it all seemed quite clean and well stocked. The cashier was nice and the prices were ok. I would have given it 5 stars only if they gave away food.
I needed a hand with a large amount of ice, and I didn't even have to ask. There was a great young man that helped me out by loading it in a cart and having it ready for me while I finished my purchase at the till. Great job, excellent service, thank you.
Decent grocery store, however at the time they lacked many basic items, likely covid related to be fair. That said, there could have been a better selection of vegetarian items both fresh and frozen. The lean meats ie. Boneless breasts of chicken/turkey as well as ground chicken/turkey were very limited or nonexistent so rather disappointing as I had to go elsewhere. It was not a bad experience just not as diverse as I had hoped for when visiting
Was in the store today. Noticed your cart boy cleaning off the small carts, was not wearing a mask today & the employee girl who greeted you @checkout lines today. If anybody who comes into your establishment has to wear a mask for "public saftey", these 2 employees should be doing the same. Just reminding. There should be double standards. If this the standard in Ontario & all other provinces. You should be setting an example.
Very expensive but has good options and stock
It's a grocery store but with some bonus features I'm not overly familiar with. They have a Tesla Supercharging station out front of the place. That's pretty cool and forward thinking for a town like Perth.
Well stocked "your independent" grocery store. Friendly and helpful staff.
If you have 1 item or a cart load, you’ll be waiting 15 mins In a checkout line. Happens every time
Excellent fried foods at the Deli counter. My favorite stop for chicken wings while travelling the #511 or #7
Totally overpriced! Only good to buy stuff on a really good sale. Most of the employees are rude. Also if you do shop there check your receipt. They are always overcharging there and you wouldn't know unless u check. Happen 1 out of 3 times there.
Extremely kind and helpful staff, more than solid selection of products and zero lineup at the cashiers.
Good health food section compared to ther grocery stores
All cashes open. Fast service. Well stocked. Parking spots too small.
It was really busy being a Friday before a long weekend, but the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Good selection/variety of products and fresh produce
Long lines for the checkout. Especially if you are only buying 1 or 2 items.
Nice and clean, also has 250kw Tesla Supercharger.
Long line up for checking out and no signs to say where you had to line up to get to check out
most staff are friendly and helpful. good selection. special orders. changed a number of things that I used to buy with new owners. so don't go as often
Great selection friendly staff.
Was not impressed today when I went into this location. Normally I go to the almonte location, but decided to go to perth since I was there. Went to line up like I do in almonte (keep your distance but line up at a cash) and a lady told me to line up at the end and I'd be directed to a cash. As I walked past she said under her breath "we have only been doing this now for 8 months" to her coworker. This was incredibly unprofessional. Not all stores are doing things the same way and there was certainly no need for that comment. The store is clean and well ornagized but that was rude and unprofessional. These are trying times, if customers are expected to be patient with staff, staff also should be with customers. I will not be back there any time soon.
Nice enough store but seems pricier than other options.
Friendly staff! Felt bad for the deli guy I had slice me 1kg of multiple meets to feed the crew! Found everything I was looking for and more!
Supervisor( Katie)closed cash as I was next. When I mentioned she stated there was not another cashier and proceeded to argue with me with her voice rising. Paid for a product (wood pellets) and was unaware what they looked like or where they were located. Asked Katie. She said go look. Got another employee to show me what and where they were. Go back in and Katie opened up the same cash she just closed as I got to it. With the smuggest smile she just walked away. I know I can be a different type of customer but that was completely uncalled for and Katie shouldn’t treat the customers that way
Friendly staff and clean store. Not being from here we stopped to get groceries for camp and got ripped off. We bought some peanut butter and did not realize that it had expired 3 months ago. So my question is how was this missed when restocking the shelves?
This grocery store is very clean. The people there are very friendly and helpful. I do find the prices a little high. You really need to watch the weekly ads
My favorite grocery store! Great staff. Have everything I want and well stocked
Great selection.Good competitive prices.Excellent helpful staff.
I was very disappointed to unwrap what was supposed to be a family pack of fresh lean ground beef on July 24, 2020 only to discover after seperating it into 3 smaller packages that its appeared to be repackaged old lean ground beef with beef dye on top to make it look red. I do not plan to purchase meat products here again.
"Covid careful"? No. The store doesn't feel any duty to remind customers to keep their masks on. The health unit's guildelines say differently. For that reason, I don't shop here as much as I used to.
Friendly and pleasant and good deals.
Very friendly and helpful staff, always a great selection of hot food at their deli. And through all if this Covid mess they have been on the ball and organized their store wonderfully.
Friendly, polite staff. Everyone is always cheerful and helpful. Produce is excellent. They have a great selection with all the brands I like without being an unnecessarily huge "super" store. Great service.
I was in the store a couple days ago and was looking for salmon steaks, I was talking to a man name Dan who was very helpful he gave me the store number and ext and told me to call today I also gave him my phone number and he called this morning and wanted to know if I was still interested I gave him my order and picked them up today great service and the stakes were delicious tkx Dan for you help I will be shopping there more often now
Although the lineups were still all the way down the dairy aisle, just about every cash was open and it did not take long to check out. Plenty of staff in the aisles also to direct me to products.
Nice clean store with helpful staff. Checkout process though during Covid is not well thought out.
I like the store because I like PC products. But, the way you have to line up for the cash in one line around the store is somewhat silly. Also, my wife encountered someone on the customer service counter that was had a pretty bad attitude. I'll still go there but it may not always be my first choice.
Prices are extremely high as compared to other other stores and quality of products are no better. Tend not to have sale products on shelves and have to locate someone to ask if they have any. Far prefer to shop in other towns with superstores.
Apparently they have decided to price gouge their customers. My 82 year old mother paid $7.99 for 6 butter tarts raising the price by $2.00. Way to go Independant!
There handling of lines for covid is sad.. people with one or two items and who have mobility issues should not have to stand in 30 plus person line
Great prices, friendly staff. Always has what I need. Open all the time, even on holidays. Located in mall off highway 7. Tesla charging spot.
Great clean store easy to shop friendly staff. Yeah
I was disappointed that the store would not honor sale pricing on table napkins, the signage was not specific to christmas theme only and the bin was stuffed full of all types. This was misleading and I returned all for a full refund.
A good shopping experience every time I go there.
No line ups. Good covid protocols. Carts are cleaned and am employee gives them to you as you request one. Only downside of this store are narrow aisles but they do what they can
A bit disappointed I didn't get what I went for. Lean ground beef on sale. Sold out but getting more next day. Don't live in Perth & didn't feel like stopping again in Carleton Place.
Generally good but watch prices
I use this store daily, 90% of our family's edibles, and cleaners. The staff are exceptionally polite and helpful with anything anytime. Few and far between are grocery stores this well managed.
Update. Store is still excellent in all aspects. Found a new bread product today.,. La Baguetterie roasted garlic bread loaf. Fantastic..please keep stocking this product.
My local grocery store has now taken the stance that medical exemptions do not apply. If you are a person with a disability or medical condition that requires accommodation you are no longer welcome at Barnabe's Independent Grocer in Perth, Ontario.
I was able to find what I was looking for with the help of one of the girls working in the deli she was friendly and cordial as the cashier who looked after me the store gets five stars from me
The store it's self is ok and they usually have pretty good weekly sales but the parking here is terrible if you have a larger vehicle ( suv, trucks etc ). My wife and I have had quite a few door dings on both our vehicles while in shopping here.
Love the meat prices last week and definitely the price of asparagus and water thanks barnabes...and no one even asked me to check my bags. ....that's a bit much but I kinda understand
huge selection, very helpful staff, they stock many things others dont, i.e. specialty type things.
Butchers are great. Store clean and well organized. However, bought cinnamon buns yesterday, got to the cottage to see they were 4 days past the best before date. Had to toss them.
If you value your health go elsewhere Customers shopping not wearing a mask When I asked Susan about the no mask for certain customer I was offered no information In Ontario no mask no service except in Perth. This is senseless and a gross lack of concern for those who abide and respect the rules. I will be shopping elsewhere for now Cowards they are .....
Clean store, friendly staff. Good parking
About a 10 minute wait to get in, but the line was shaded. Arrows are specified for each aisle, unfortunately a lot of shoppers ignored them. Once I was in line to pay, I was able to get through quickly.
A variety of fruits to choose from and good prices ????
Always feel like I am interesting the employees who are usually talking to each other
Normally this is an absolutely fine store. We visit here once a week, every week. Today, as usual, I drop my wife at the front and either visit the LCBO or just park. Today I just parked. I enter the store and my wife is still in produce shopping and I was shocked to witness a verbal confrontation between her and a couple of guys aged late 20's. My wife is 67. She didn't have anything to say to them just holding up her hand to ignore the situation. Apparently when enter the store she had inadvertently made eye contact with them and they were really quite bothered by it. Last I heard from them they were going to report her to the manager. We chuckled a little about it. About 10 minutes later there they were again, this time taking pictures of us on their cell. They disappeared again. 2 minutes later there were confronting her again in another isle. Enough with this! I went to customer service and ask for the manager to call the police. These guys were weird. Mr. Barnabe will not call the police and requested me just take this confrontation outside as he does not want this to reflect on his store. I returned to my wife and we just stopped shopping and immediately exited the store. We continued our shopping at the Metro.
The way they line the customers up at the checkouts is ridiculous
I prefer metro but have never been disappointed with anything I bought here!
