In the process of moving from Vancouver, I was looking for a legit coffee shop to replace the spots I frequent back home. W&F fits the bill perfectly, but isn’t just a knock off. It’s unique and fits the vibe of Penticton while standing on its own with great espresso. The baked treats and food are also excellent. We had a blueberry scone and roasted orange loaf and it was ridiculously good, and still hot from the oven that morning. The patio is great, and it was fun seeing people having business meetings or working remotely inside. It’s great to have a place in town for that and it’s healthy for the community. Looking forward to coming here lots!

Not mad, but definitely will probably not go again They were nice, treated us with respect, etc. was only 2 of us, got order wrong, was very busy. I've been to a few coffee shops and restaurants and have been pretty comfortable and never felt COVID threatened for the most part with the exception of certain things as that are unavoidable and is what it is, but there were so many people crammed between the "social distancing" floor stickers that you were literally touching each other, we waited for a while for our coffee, which is fine, but witnessed no cleaning, or wiping of, for example, of the the pin pad or counter, And it was touches allot. There were stickers and floor and masks, but clearly only for perception, nothing is enforced or even suggested for that matter. If you think it's all a hoax, it would be fine because they are nice and the coffee is good (well the coffee that I ended up drinking lol), but if you are even just moderately conservative in your social distancing (whereas you are fine with unavoidable things but still somewhat try to do your part by avoiding other people), I would probably avoid it for now as it definitely fits the rhetoric of some of other restaurants prior to outbreak. I think we are probably safe in the okanagan, but IF there was going to be a breakout, I feel like it would be there. Post-pandmic and if you were convinced there is no way this is real, then stripping away that it was good for the most part, but people were a little too close for pre-pandmic standards, in my opinion.

The one place that always has long lineups!! But it is for a reason, they do provide quality drinks and food. We found out that we are able to order online instead of waiting on the line. And we did that and saved atleast 15 minutes. We ordered the iced vanilla soy latte -5/5 just perfect drink for a hot sunny day. Another drink order was the Okanagan Morning smoothie, which is unfortunately quite dissapointing. They did not use the ripest ingridients hence the drink was really bland and had no taste to what we expected it to be. All in all, go there for the coffee and teas (not the smoothies, as it can be hit or miss). They have nice patio sitting for guests to enjoy.

Their beans are good. I've been travelling throughout the southern okanagan for a month, and my tastebuds have been traumatized by the, uh, "bold" roastings that dominate the market here. My preference is for the opposite--a lightly roasted light brown bean, and Wayne and Freda's Ethopian Borboya was restorative. The roast was a month old when I purchased it, maybe because I went in immediately after the holidays, but I'm looking forward to a freshly roasted version.

Very nice place but please use less paper and plastic. I asked whether you had to stay mugs or whether I should use my own. You have to-stay mugs. Then I ordered a warm milk for my son, and specifically asked it not come in a to-go mug. The kids’ milk came in a paper cup with a plastic lid, and both muffins came in bags rather than plates. Only my coffee came in a to-stay cup. That unfortunately ruined the experience for me because I worry about our planet and what is left for our kids in the future. Please please avoid the use of disposable products when guests are sitting in. Thank you

Early reviews said service was slow, but they opened on Canada Day weekend with Main street closed and the Elvis fest in town so, maybe a bit overwhemled? Give them a chance, grumpy people.

Nice cafe near Okanagan lake in Penticton. Coffee isnt bad and service is good. This place does get busy so get there early. COVID protocols are in place here. Try the pastries... not bad at all.

The prices are a little metropolitan for the likes of Penticton, but are truly reflective of the service and quality of what you get, the London Fog with almond milk was nicely done, well balanced and the foam art was a very nice touch. Service was fast and the baristas were both pleasant and polite. The decor was adequate, I would suggest though that once covid is done with, this cafe think about featuring local artists work on the interior, waiting for my drink to be made the only thing to look at was a fern or the other patrons, a little intrigue and interest on the walls would be nice. I love the patio idea with sea cans made into a cabana, the location is unfortunate due to road noise but then again all of penticton often sounds like a gravel quarry. Review would be 5 stars, but I did not try the baked goods, so cannot give a complete review, will update when I do so.

Love the Food! We pop in at least once a week for lunch (take-out during covid-19). My two and half year old loves the food too which is awesome. They even sometimes draw flowers on her little cup! Wayne and Freda has two challenges: It's a coffee shop downtown and it's right by the beach, normally that means it would need to have something unique to stand out and draw in a niche crowd. The unique thing that they have is how good everything is! The coffee is worth walking the few blocks to get to (I'd walk quite a distance for coffee that good) and the snacks and food are truly next level, the muffins are as fresh as the coffee. I am already excited for my next visit and thinking about what I'm going to try next because it will be worth it to taste everything on the menu.

I've been trying this spot every once in a blue moon since they opened a few years back and...It's ok. Good drip coffee, pretty solid baked goods, but they're always really slow, and their espresso drinks have always been kinda lackluster and watery, especially their americanos. Better than they used to be but I swung back today cuz a friend gave me a gift card and...Still kinda about the same. Don't think I can blame the baristas, gotta be company policy to make em like they do. That and I've always felt kinda unwelcome here. There's an unfriendly, unwelcoming, "rich people only" air to the place that makes me feel out of place every time I've stopped in. Not from the staff, mind you, the baristas are always friendly and kind, but the customers here, like that "we thought we priced you types outa town by now" kinda vibes. It's weird; I don't get that feeling from even more upscale spots like Nest & Nectar or Bench Market. Maybe it's just me, I dunno. Anyway, not a spot I recommend unless you're by the lake and really need a scone real quick, cuz with hideaway gone since last year, they got the only decent scones unless you're able to get down to that spot by the skaha lake marina. Swing by Seis Cielo across the street from city hall for a coffee instead; they roast their own beans proper and do the best americano I've ever had, consistently. Usually quicker in and out too!

Excellent Penticton coffee/breakfast joint. Very close to water, so can either eat in or walk to lake to enjoy the morning breezes. Strong, delicious coffee and a great easy breakfast selection. We had the the tomato veggie breakfast sandwich and winter toast and loved every bite. Also appreciated attention to covid restrictions. We will be back!

Such a great local coffee spot! Tip: Order ahead online and then pick up your order to enjoy in the outdoor seating area. Both the Bacon Breakfast Sandwich and Spring Toast were delicious. The iced matcha latte was one of the best I’ve had. If you like your matcha sweet, add a shot of vanilla syrup. My husband also enjoyed the medium roast drip coffee. He had it iced with oat milk to cool off in the heat. Would definitely come back again!

Lovely Building and friendly service. Nice take on a coffee-shop-meets-brewery atmoshpere. Our breakfast sandwiches were really tasty and the coffee is good. Highly recommend the breakfast sandwich with sprouts. It seemed all the servers were young students, so they had a bit of trouble regulating the music choices and matching it with the current demographic in the building. My only feedback being in relation to this; If the shop is filled with 40 and 50-somethings, it's not in good taste to be playing electronic hipster music loudly. I like the genre as much as the next millennial but the atmosphere should match the demographic. Great spot for breaky outside. Good location, nice interior and yummy breakfast sandwiches/muffins.

Probably my favourite place in Pinticton. Made an effort to come here every morning after we arrived after we spotted this gem. The lines are a bit long and not properly organized but the food and drinks were superb. The patio is also really awesome.

Baked goods are pretty tasty, though rather pricey. Muffins are your best bang for buck and their blueberry muffins are bangers. Coffee is...Fine. A step above free workplace or fastfood coffee, but might as well just go to Second Cup or any other chain for the price and quality you get here. Can't speak to their blended lattes and stuff, but I won't be back for their drip or espresso drinks unless I have a gift card or found some cash on the sidewalk.

It’s unfortunate, I really wanted to like this place. I came in with high expectations, upon hearing all the great things from friends and locals. Made it in the shop at 15:40 and ordered 2 cappuccinos. As there were a few orders ahead of me, as the clock got closer to 16:00 (closing time), I was promptly told that “they ran out of espresso”, being told there’s nothing available until tomorrow morning. I suspect that’s simply not the case - more of a case of not wanting to open another bag of coffee to serve a customer close to closing time; which is fine, but be upfront about it. Another member of our group asked for more clarification on how they can possibly be out of coffee, and got another abrupt “yeah, we’re out until the morning”. Anyway, I bet the coffee is very good and tasty, but this was unfortunately overshadowed by the lack of customer service I’ve experienced this afternoon.

I have wanted to try this place out for a while and one day it hit me when I had more time in my hands. I know one of the cooks who encouraged me to pay a visit and I was glad I did. I had a tasty sandwich, the interior is nicely designed and friendly, and the staff was nice. Come by and enjoy their offers!

Probably the best coffee shop in Penticton but that's basically by relativity. I've been there multiple times and they are always out of coffee which seems strange for a coffee shop. The baked goods are decent but the decor and vibe seem to have more thought put into them than the coffee. Seems like a place people go to be seen more than get a quality product. Would easily be 5 stars if they emphasized product fundamentals over image.

Can't say enough good things about this place. We came on (soft) opening day and you'd think they've been doing this a while. No mistakes, no long waits, everything done well. Coffee was smooth and tasty, brought in from Tug 6 in Vancouver. We also had a breakfast sandwich and Mediterranean bowl, both of which were absolutely delicious. This place is exactly what Penticton, or any place for that matter, needs.

Walking the streets of Penticton this morning waiting on a business meeting and happened upon this very warm and inviting local cafe. As a ‘Wayne’, I found myself to be outnumbered by close to twenty ‘Freda’s’ which was more people than I had seen all morning on my walk. Breakfast sandwich was a delight and so was my experience. A great place to enjoy breakfast! It was busy, but the line moved quickly. Staff was friendly. Coffee was very good. We had the Spring Toast and the Tomato Breakfast Sandwich; both we’re so tasty! Prices were good. Lots of seating indoors and out, even with social distancing considered. Totally recommend.

Wonderful coffee, food, atmosphere and service. My mom and I came here for the first time today. The staff were having a photoshoot of their food and space to promote their business. We had planned on having a quick coffee but then the owner offered us some of the food they were photographing and it was DELICIOUS! Such a kind person and you can tell she really cares about her customers and the business. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

I feel like the setup of the space could’ve been done better to increase flow of service, both times I’ve been in, there’s a pile up of people waiting in what seems like the most inconvenient spaces. However, despite this minor imperfection, I am in love with the space and the coffee. Haven’t tried any food yet but it’s a place I’ll definitely visit again.

Great food and awesome coffee but not very kid friendly. No highchairs for small kiddos. Had to go to Starbucks to accomodate. Would have been in for coffee everyday with my son for the week while I was on vacation in the area.

no booster chairs for young mother's or high chairs so we are forced to bring in cumbersome strollers ..just to have a friend chat and 14$ for 2 very small cappuccinos and 2 cookies seriously more than Starbucks. poorly made capocinno not hot enough miniscule foam ...really you need lessons from professionals and how about a smile from customer service ...this was a very disappointing experience ..please do something about this thank you.....

We came here for breakfast and coffee at least 5 times during our 3 days in Penticton! Very cozy place and customer service was awesome! My husband said this place has one of the best Americanos he has ever had, and I LOVED their iced matcha latte! Our 13-year-old tried 3 of their smoothies and liked the Okanagan Morning the best. Menu offers a good selection but not too overwhelming. Be sure to try their weekend brunch menu. Everything was so fresh and healthy. The only thing I have to say is the portion may be a bit small for some, but the quality definitely makes up for it. This is hands down one of the best coffee shop/breakfast places we've ever been to, including those in Vancouver! Next time we visit Penticton again we will for sure be back!!!

First time visiting Wayne and Freda and loved it. The restaurant has an awesome vibe with plenty of outdoor seating area. Service was super friendly and the food was great. Two of us had the egg sandwich and two had the egg and avacado toast. The were both delicious. The buns and bread were so fresh and soft. The coffee was excellent. A great way to start your morning. Highly recommend.

Great location. Been there a couple times thus fall. Though have to say the line up for coffee today was too long a wait! Had friends meeting us there and when they showed up we were in the line for more than 10 minutes. They didn't want to wait that long so we left and went to Starbucks. Last week we waited in line and once ordering our coffee we were offereD a blend of old and fresh brew...???? Come on guys! It can'take be that difficult to get serving coffee right! Good coffee once you finally get it!
