Wow... absolutely World Class! And the wines are so delicious.

The food was exceptional, across the board. The mussels were probably the most devine. The chef had an occasional presence out in the space and was welcoming. Good wine. Easy-going atmosphere. It was our server’s first shift (she had started only an hour before we got there) and she was very present and real with us. All of us on the deck took ownership when a sudden blast of rain and wind blew in. Says a lot about a place when we the customers can care as much about the place as the staff. Would be a tremendous place to go with a big table of people, order multiple dishes, drink lots of wine, and toast the chef. Great spirit about the place. Definitely we’ll return.

Simply the best wine in the Okanagan. Great restaurant with amazing food. If you want fast food don’t come here, it’s for people who enjoy eating and drinking, not for those who like McDonald’s

We had an enchanting time for dinner on Thursday night. Due to Covid & proper spacing of their tables our table wasn’t ready when we arrived for our reservation. The team set us up on the front porch where we enjoyed a beautiful new bubbly Pear Charmat Cider from La Petite Abeille & some appitizers. Our delicious dinner was followed by a stunning sunset & lovely wine, the Malbec was a standout. The Portuguese tapas brought me fond memories of the Mediterranean & my Abuela (Spanish for grandma). The chefs take on pork & beans blew my mind as well as the cod croquettes & makeral. What a perfect night during these imperfect times.

Managed to squeak in end of season for a unparalleled meal, designed by the chef himself. Cozy, comfortable, tasty and truly a treat. Great view, value and service. Go here.

Made reservations for my wife's birthday mid-September. Abul, the chef, delivered a delicious lineup of Portuguese style tapas. This was our ninth or tenth meal here over as many years and the food has always been excellent. The staff …

Fantastic Tapas, great views, friendly staff. What's not to love, highly recommended.

Food was very good. Service on the other hand made you feel like you were there uninvited. Bit disappointing as our expectations were pretty high based on previous reviews.

Always have a wonderful experience here. The chef Abul does a great job delivering a food experience that transports you to a tapas restaurant in Portugal. The flavours and experience is very good from back of the house to the front where …

We live in Kelowna and look for interesting places to eat. We are extensively internationally travelled experiencing food in Spain, Portugal, Mexico etc. We were very excited to go the Kitchen, but extremely disappointed. We ordered a caesar salad, pototes bravas and paella. We were promised the paella would take 45 mins. At the 1 hour 20 min time we inquired with the server how long it would take. She did not return with infomation. At the 1 hour and 40 min mark we choose to leave and pay for only what we consumed. When I paid, both servers asked if I was leaving a tip. I said 'no' they were diappointed stating they had to pay the cook and dishwasher 5% of the bill. I think the concept is good and the food we received was good, but apparently the cook is the only person producing food for about 40 seats in the restaurant. The menu has an FAQ section demonstrating a high degree of contempt for customers and uses very condescending language. The bottleneck appears to be the cook. I would encourage you to avoid the restaurant until either the cook is replaced or kitchen staff is hired. To add further insult after 9 pm that same evening Kimberely called me from 'The Kitchen'. She further harassed me stating that is was not a big deal to wait over 1 hour 40 min without receiving the paella and obviously if that long of a wait for the main course is problem, then the problem was mine, not theirs. I think she needs customer service training 101.

Da Silva is hands down my favourite place to eat in Penticton. From the freshest summer cocktails to most exquisite Spanish fused tapas style comfort food, we have never had a bad experience here. The staff is friendly, service is excellent and quality is in my opinion, game changer! If there’s a wait to be seated, you can enjoy a wine tasting and usually the wait isn’t too long. We loved that the owner / chef came out to talk to us, making our visit personal and unforgettable. We will be back in the Summer!

It's not just dinner. It's an experience! I have never been disappointed. Quality cooking and food, in a beautiful setting.

FINALLY!! Blown away!! The food is owner prepared and he is an absolute genius!! By far the best food experience I have had in my 27 years in BC! Abul had put BC back on the map for an amazing experience that will have you coming back for more! Bravo!!

I’ve had a few great experiences here, and recommend it to any friends wine touring Naramata. Great date place, with stunning views. I love Tapas, specifically the grilled Sardines hit all my high notes. The serving staff are professional, and really impart a personal touch and knowledge of the food they’re serving. I appreciate that the Chef has come out to check on our meals, I like this personalized touch. I do wish the wine selection extended beyond the winery, but this shouldn’t limit your expectations. By far, the best dining experience Naramata has to offer, and one of my overall favourites of the Okanagan.

I visited the Patio restaurant for the 1st time with my daughter and her partner. The view is spectacular. I had the sauteed calamari and meatball appetizers extremely delicious. Colour, height and eye appeal . No flavours overpowered another. I fell in love with the Malbec . So smooth and silky. I will return and highly recommended this place. We had friendly and efficient service during this pandemic and they adhere to good safe dine in protocols. Well done Bravo!

The food tasted good, the view is amazing. That’s where the good ends. The arrogance of the service staff was deplorable. Read the FAQs at the back of the menu... that’s not the kitchen having a sense of humour... it’s saying we don’t want you here if you even so much as ask for water. I have never felt more awkward at a restaurant. In these post-Covid times, to refuse to provide orders on individual plates is incomprehensible. To add to the insanity, there was hair in a dish and the response was “oh, ok. Well sorry” and nothing else was said. The flippant disregard for public health and the refusal to bring another plate to replace the one with hair meant the meal was a complete waste, as nothing else was eaten and no one felt safe. No one should feel unsafe... We went to celebrate a birthday and unfortunately we regretted it. There’s lots of great places in Penticton, and this sure is not one of them.

Wonderful experience. One of the best servers I’ve ever had. One of the most creative meals Ive ever had. Chef is next level. We did the chefs choice and got food I would not otherwise order. Was fun to try new things. Lots of fish dishes but they were all great. Highly recommend if you can get a rezzy.

Ken Funk

Great food. Prawns were delicious, and the butter beans with pork jowel were very good considering i do not like beans in anything. Only complaint i would have is that the pacing of service was a little off. After our first course, we waited almost 20 minutes before the next 3 came at the same time, and the last before we had got halfway into those. If they were busy i could understand but we were 1 of 2 couples on the patio at the time. Otherwise stellar views, tasty sangria, staff were friendly. We'll be back

Came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Delicious food, beautiful patio & wonderful service. Thanks for a great evening!

Love the view and spicy food!

What a deplorable lunch experience. This meal had so much potential, given how good the wines are, but my family and I left completely disappointed. Take your business elsewhere, support places that deserve it. I don't mean to be disrespectful and I truly hope this feedback makes it to the chef. The same was said in person to the waitress, but I doubt it was relayed to the kitchen. Also, I find it amazing how one of the reviews here is from the Chef itself, Abdul Adame. Scroll down all the way and you will see it. I hope this sets the tone for what I am about to say. For starters, the "tapas" took over 50 minutes to arrive. No explanation, no feedback or warning that "the kitchen is busy, are you ok with waiting a bit for your lunch?", nothing. On top of that prices are just borderline criminal for what you get. If I'm paying 7 dollars for a single sardine this better be incredible, but it wasn't. The sardine came cold to the table, and was sitting almost lonely at the centre of the plate, that's it. We have also ordered the Pork belly, the cauliflower and the bacalhau croquettes. The pork belly was, an I wish I was exaggerating, a block of fat, with less than 5% being meat. The cauliflower was tasteless, not properly seasoned. The croquettes were clearly overfried, visibly, and tasted much like an oil soaked french fry. I've been to hundreds of finer restaurants, luckily enough, and I know bad food when I taste it. My family agreed wholeheartedly with the sentiment. Trust me when I say that I really really wanted to like this place, as much as I loved the wines, but this restaurant is an utterly disaster. Sure, the kitchen was busy, but don't drop the quality just to rush food out of the door, specially since you are charging a premium for food that isn't special at all.

I went here on a date and was impressed with the view and service and overall we had an enjoyable evening, but the food was rather underwhelming. Between the two of us we ordered seven tapas and out of all of them, we would only return for he piri piri prawns and maybe the ahi tuna. The serving of prawns was very sizeable; for $9 we got five large favourable prawns. The tuna was slightly over-seared for our likings but the portion was again decent, and the fish was complimented by the guac. The food was unfortunately downhill from there. The cauliflower was bland and uneventful, the "pickled cactus medley" was just a pico de gallo with a few slices of cactus thrown in and the mint and beet salad was decent but lacked excitement. If you want to have a few bites and drinks with a view, this place works, but for the value I would recommend going to Vanilla Pod or elsewhere in the area.

A really good experience at The Kitchen...if you like tapas - it's a style of dining that's not to everyone's taste. We love it ???? We arrived hungry after a day of touring wineries so we ordered a lot! Started with a tasty hummus and baguette, followed with 2 seafood dishes, carried on to roasted cauliflower and duck leg confit, a pork belly on tomato and basil salad, fresh Saltspring Island mussels and clams, and meatballs with tomato chipotle sauce. Whew! But still room for dessert, lol - had the housemade cheesecake and the daily special which was an espresso creme brulee. Everything was delicious - well balanced flavors, fresh ingredients - the only quibble I had was with the squid, it was finished with very coarse salt that I found overpowering. But I eat very little salt so it may be just a personal taste thing for me. Recommended if you like tapas and enjoy taking your time over dinner. Ps the dining area is a covered patio, but they have propane heaters that kept it cozy as the night got chilly

Chef Abul has an amazing ability and creativity that you won’t find in a lot of places. We did the Chef’s choice and he surprised us with an incredible blend of unique ingredients. His choice of wine pairing went exceptionally well with our unpredictable meal and was very well received and appreciated. Well done.

Overall we had a very good experience. The location is really good and the view looking out from the deck is great. The service was very friendly and helpful. The wine that we had with dinner was great. The food was amazing. I have to say it was really, really good. Everything we had was good. You need to try the Paella, it was amazing. My only issue was that it took very long to get our order, I wish the service was a little quicker. I would have no issues going back.

We had such a phenomenal experience at “the kitchen” for dinner! We were able to get in last minute on Friday, due to a cancellation and we were so glad we did! Our server Michelle pointed us in the direction of the “chefs tasting menu,” …

Very enjoyable evening of food and wine. The food, service and wine was amazing! We will be back for more!

Cons: I visited last week and was disgusted by the service. The worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. She was incredibly rude and condescending to any questions we had. I will never be returning as long as she is there. I noticed that she acted the same way with all guests. I will be letting my family and friends know of my experience. Pros: tasty food and good views. The gentleman who got us drinks was very polite unlike his female counterpart. It was unfortunate that we could be our server.

The absolute worst lunch experience I've ever had. After securing a last minute reservation at The Kitchen my family and I also booked a few tasting reservations at near by wineries. Due to covid 19 restrictions this winery season reservations are a must. We were a little thrown off by the minimum two tapas per person mandate because we were four people and were wanting to share the paella, which is a larger dish and a few extra tapas. We asked the server if this was OK? She sheepishly asked us how much time we had? We had set aside an hour and a half for lunch. Certainly enough time in our minds to enjoy a meal. We were mistaken. We were told that was not enough time for the paella order so we ordered 8 tapas to coincide with the 2 per person minimum. After waiting 50 minutes with not one tapas arriving we asked the server when we could expect as least one dish. We were told "this is how it is here, the chef puts dishes out as he deems suitable to what he thinks is a European dining experience." We were suppose to relax and enjoy the afternoon. That's great when you aren't starving and don't have other reservations booked that day. Then dishes that we ordered an hour ago were arriving at tables that had just ordered. We felt like the chef did this to us purposely for not following his absurd dining rules. 2 tapas came after over an hour of waiting. We saw more of the items we ordered arriving at near by tables that came after us. When we mentioned this to the server she said that the chef was OK with cancelling the remainder of our order. I've worked with enough egotistical chefs to know that I'm not spending my hard earned money to support this guy. His comment made us lose our appetite so we did indeed cancel. We still paid $140.00 to leave unsatisfied and hungry. The server was apologetic and we expressed that we felt she did the best she could under the circumstances. She said this happens at least once a shift. We suggested she look for employment elsewhere. This guy is ridiculous.

My friends and I have been coming to this place for years, and every time it is an enjoyable experience. The food is absolutely delicious! The chef is one of a kind. He makes everything himself, and is a true talent. Tapa style best for sharing many dishes so you can experience all the flavours. This place has a lovely view and is meant for an authentic sit down meal where you take your time enjoying drinks food and your company. We always feel at home coming to this restaurant and the chef and staff are friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend for lunch after a wine tour, or dinner with a group of close friends or family. You won’t find another Gem like this anywhere near by.

Great food. Awesome wine pairing. Unique and flavorful! Patio seating with heaters was just fine in October.

Abul is a genious. Fantastic tapas. Well worth a visit!!

Mike Fertuck

Great spot for a romantic Tapas experience in Penticton. The food was amazing, staff friendly but a little busy. The views were stunning with a beautiful sunset to cap it all off. A very nice Rose wine with dinner, I would definitely have it again and take some friends.

Jeanette

Food tasted great although I wouldn’t recommend going hungry. Prices are too high for the extremely small portions you get in comparison to other tapas restaurants I have dined at.

Jenna Davidson

Ignore the bad reviews. If you know/appreciate anything about traditional tapas, do yourself a favour and go here. Amazing.

Had a wonderful lunch, amazing food and wine!

Fantastic meal. One of the best restaurants in the Okanagon. Don’t go if you’re in a rush, these meals take their time!!! As all good food should.

We were a group of 6, ordering several items for different dietary restrictions. Pros: beautiful view and location, good wine, delicious food! Lots to choose from! Cons: guest experience and communication. They were out of a lot of foods; some we were told up front, but also we ordered items and then we’re later told they’re out. No offer to replace with something else, just “nope!” No water refill offered - eventually asked and then had to ask again to get more water. Some food came out grouped together, others separately, so we were never sure how many orders were being served on a plate. They Were unable to do separate bills. Servers seemed exhausted and uninterested in our experience, just eager to finish their shifts. Conclusion: go ahead and try it. Don’t be in a hurry. And be prepared to hear “no” a LOT. But the food you do get will be delicious!

Delicious Tapas, big flavors in a small package. Highly reccomend a nice variety to get the best experience. Service was wonderful and did not rush us.

Had a lovely meal tapas were excellent. The last page of the menu (FAQ's) is a must read. Especially loved the calamari, and the veil tounge. View from patio was spectacular. Was however disappointed in the paella. Told it takes an hour + to prepare so high expectations for a genuine dish. Presentation was great, lots of clams and muscles, a couple prawns, a piece of chorizo, and chicken thigh, and there was no socarrat (the crispy crust from bottom of pan) and it was slightly over salted. Discovered afterwards that the rice is made ahead of time in batches and then dish was prepared in what I understood to be more of a frying pan (cast iron???) rather than a paella pan. A slightly disappointing end to a wonderful evening.

This winery is highly pretentious and over rated for what it offers. Came for a tasting first and then a meal. The wines were subpar, with odd notes (Parmesan, popcorn, bbq). You cannot purchase wine to have it served with your meal without paying a $20 corkage fee, not worth the value of the wine. The food is delicious but you’re required to purchase a minimum of 2 dishes per person. The staff forgot several dishes at our table, which were served to subsequent diners, so a clear omission on the waiting staff/kitchen. When inquiring about dishes that were ordered but not delivered, the message we received is that “we couldn’t possibly understand the plating process” as a means for explaining why other tables who ordered after us received those dishes before we did. The wait staff seemed completely disinterested and unable to take accountability for the mishaps with ordering. When they finally delivered a vegan dish, it was plated with calamari, and as we discussed this at the table with the waitress standing by, she beelined it as fast as she could. They then served us a “free baguette” after all the other dishes were eaten and delivered it saying it “wasn’t an apology” for the poor service. Of all the places to dine on the bench, would recommend this the least.

The Kitchen at Da Silva Winery was not on my radar. I am glad I found time to visit this remarkable Kitchen. A group I was with agreed to go with the Chef's Choice with 2 wine pairings. Our group was varied in age, gender and food likes and the Chef absolutely hit it out if the park. Wine pairings and the 7 tapas served were perfect matches. We were encouraged to take the 2 full hours to enjoy the food and wine and the groups company. We did and it was an experience the exceeded expectations. We'll done Da Silva and The Kitchen.

Jayme Pfahl

Amazing experience here yesterday. The food was fantastic and the wine excellent (get the fume blanc!) Sitting on the deck enjoying tapas and the view. Couldn’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon. …
