Place does not deal with credit. If u have American currency, they will happily keep it and not bother with exchange rates. It is hipstery for all the wrong reasons. Good food though. The service is all self. So thats another hipstery thing i hated. But thats just me.
The sass and ‘tude of the lady this morning on July 6, 2021 (and now November 1, 2021) was next level! She wouldn’t last 15 minutes working for me. Come here for self-inflicted buyers’ remorse. I thought the first time was a one-off, but the roots have teeth, and the apple will ne’er fall far from the tree. My doorstop has more class. I provided ample cues and time for the customer service disgrace to be salvaged, and she took that as license to amp up the passive aggression. This definitely falls within the wheelhouse of long and committed therapy. Being a nice guy, I looked out for any glimmer of a redemptive quality, and so I stared into that abyss, and said “hey”. The abyss didn’t say anything back. It was chewing bubble gum. And so I left, dismayed at the realisation there was no hope, but small comfort that it is only by the grace of God the operation of a card reader does not require communication skills. One needs to know to stop when you’re still only a few steps behind. And then I took a bite out of the croissant sandwich. It is a good sandwich, and so alas, there exists some potential. And food can still taste good in the absence of interpersonal acumen.
I was looking for a very specific baked goods they didnt have any and I was disappointed i walked from Bank and Heron road location and the staff member actually said 3km isnt that far of a walk and its good exercise.Um seriously.. U tell that too every customer?
Excellent choices of soups and sizes. Everything is vegetarian. My favourite is the Dahl/lentil soup Cash or debit only.
Love the Oat!! Everything is fresh and delicious. Their gluten free grilled cheese sandwiches are amazing with a side of lentil soup.
Very busy at around noon, hard to get a table. Staff very helpfully saw our plight and sorted us out. Nice food, not too expensive. Just wish the sandwich was a tiny bit bigger ...
I always put my “good for you” food prejudices on hold whenever I eat here because the food is so tasty. Especially the omelettes.
My whole family (including teenagers) loves this place. We are big fans of the smoothies, grilled cheese/pesto sandwich, smoothies (all yummy), bread, cookies, kale salad (amazing). And I just had a butter tart from here today. Wow! Nice …
Vegan and healthy bake goods with fair trade coffee. A welcome change from commercial packaged food. Trendy/hipster type of cafe.
One of the best restaurants in the town. The food is amazing. It is delicious. The staff is excellent & quick. I didn't have to wait long for the food to come. The atmosphere is all okay. The service is a top notch.
A great spot to pick up baked goods or for a sit-down meal. I've never had the take-away hot food, but it looks tasty!
hate to say it but the Mac and cheese ? was there cheese on it? breadcrumbs yea ok nice twist but doesn't make up for the lack of anything else in it. and salmon chowder was honestly too fishy and yet tasteless completely. bread seems to be where its at.
Delicious healthy stuff. I always get the grilled cheese and the soup, and it never disappoints. Great selection of local kombucha in the bakery, too.
Excellent place to hang out, grab a coffee, brunch or meal, alone or with friends and family. Great ambiance, delicious food. Very good bakery with vegan options.
When we lived here this was our favourite bakery, the pumpernickel bread is the best. You might want to check their bread schedule: they bake different breads every day of the week.
This is my favourite place to week on a weekly basis. You can get a very hearty bowl of dal with rice, or Thai curry, plus a baked vegan treat for less than $10! It's fresh nutritious food and the staff are lovely
I've been coming here for years and the food is always delicious and healthy. The hot food buffet is reasonably priced as are the sandwiches. I love the cream cheese brownie and the gluten free options are plentiful. And the vibe is chill, comfortable and inviting. I love coming here whenever I'm in Ottawa.
The people were fantastic, but the breakfast sandwich leaves something to be desired. There was absolutely no salt used, so you can imagine how bland it tasted despite all the ingredients used. It was just okay, didn't blow my mind but was a breakfast.
Super delicious food! I had the el oaxaca, which was 8.42, and it was great. Good portions and the fact that they use local sources makes it a great deal. Super busy during the weekend, so maybe come during the week days!
One of my favorites in Ottawa. I really look forward to the day I can sit down and have their traditional breakfast again. Their coffee is perfect, staff are super nice. Sandwiches are some of the best. Check out the bakery selection, it's outstanding quality.
Great food for really good prices! I just wished the lighting in the place was better. It felt like night time although it was 10am in the morning.
This is a great place to study if you come in after 6-6:30pm. The staff are really nice and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Food and coffee are great too. It's one of my favorite Ottawa cafe's
Don’t let the hippie bakery vibes fool you-this place has healthy baked good options but they also make the best croissants (butter, chocolate and almond), baguettes and carrot cake in Ottawa! Their cinnamon danish is also awesome. Wonderful baked goods at reasonable prices-Can’t recommend enough!
European vibe, very cozy, especially in Winter. Very affordable. A ton of options for vegans and vegetarians as well as for different food intolerances. Staff is friendly and helpful. Many tasty and healthy options: you can grab something right away or order. Variety of coffee and beer. Organic and locally produced oriented. Parking can be a challenge.
They make the best cheesecake brownie I have ever had in my life! The next time I visit Ottawa, this is the first place I'm going to go ????
Best coffee and breakfast in the Glebe; fantastic local bakery and Cafe, friendly and helpful staff, along with a grocer selection of Ottawa-based products such as flavoured seltzer, organic breads and pastas, and a variety of baked goods. Try the wild-a-beast vegan burger with the smokey apple BBQ sauce
The food is amazing, the staff kind and the place cozy. My favorite is the chocolate chunk!! And the vege paté sandwich os great too.
Fresh breads and pastry all day long You can also find vegetarian readymade food to go They have a small bar for lunch and serve breakfast till 2 on weekends No AC, so it could get hot in there
I really like the “truffles” here. And the chocolate cake and lemon squares are excellent. We have been getting baked goods and bread from here for years and really enjoy it.
"Usually not busy" according to GMaps is true but it's limited seating so it is busy. Accessible but awkward entry. Delicious food at reasonable/expected prices. Recommend grabbing breakfast and taking a stroll along the street to check out the unique shops!
This bakery is so delightful! The fresh breads and bakery items are idyllic when you walk in. The staff are also super friendly and knowledgeable. As a celiac I usually have to stay far far away from bakery’s but at wild oat …
Love the lack of plastics and one-use items here. The food is so tasty, always something available for people of all dietary needs- vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian, etc. Staff are super friendly and actually make good conversation rather than empty hospitality. So many dessert goodies to try out! This is definitely a place to visit more than once.
One of my favorite cafes and bakeries combined. Staff is very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the foods and recommendations. The Interior layout lets in alot of light and has plenty of seating. …
Love the food, and the coffee and treats, and love the ambiance too. Very friendly staff, family and community feel to the place and yummy food made from quality ingredients! Lots of vegetarian, vegan, gluten free options too! We often take family and friends visiting from out of town here :)
I loved sitting beside window under sun and the place has a good vibe & atmosphere. I tried kale salad and it could be less sweet
Stopped in for a bite to eat on our way to Lansdowne. The place is super cozy and all the wood is great; a bit on the loud side but definitely not unpleasant. You don't have to yell or anything. But very family friendly and the staff were great. I also liked when we sat down, someone came over and gave a great explanation of how their menu worked and that we could go over to the bakery side and bring stuff over to eat at our table. I got the Wild Card sandwich and an iced latte. My partner got El Oaxaca and a regular latte. My sandwich was great and super fresh. I'm not even usually the biggest fan of fresh beets but it went really well with the goat cheese and avocado. My partner was very impressed with the foam on his latte and with the taste of his sandwich. Well priced for how fresh the ingredients are. We got a cream cheese brownie on our way out and it was moist and delicious. We will be back.
My friend and I were kicked out of this establishment because one of the staff members supposedly saw him try to steal money from the tip jar. Not only did he not (and would NEVER) steal from anyone, he had actually placed several tips in the jar as he was deciding what to purchase. I understand that businesses need to take precaution, but to automatically accuse someone of stealing without any room for discussion, and then proceed to threaten to call the police if we did not leave immediately is incredibly inappropriate and unjust. I am very disappointed and distraught over what happened. Witnessing an honest friend be humiliated and wrongfully accused of something is not a pleasant thing to go through. Needless to say they lost a once loyal customer over absolutely nothing.
A place with character and heart. Great fresh meals with super hippy style. The coffee is not great but it is drinkable. Fresh bread alone worth the trip.
Wholesome and best tasting baked goods with enough variety to satisfy the most demanding palates. Add to it a scrumptious little take out or eat in vegetarian little buffet and healthy kale salads or the sit down option for the healthiest breakfasts or lunches with an atmosphere to die for. This is the place you want to be to meet the coolest people in town, mixed generations with healthy outlooks on food and life.
The Wild Oat Bakery is a ‘must-visit’ in the Glebe. I’ve tried the cream cheese brownie, the lemon square, the carrot cake, and the chocolate cake and more. I’m slowly tasting my way through their menu and have yet to be disappointed. The prices are very reasonable considering the amazing quality and how everything is made in house. Wow. The baristas who served me, Ella and Rachel, were absolutely lovely and hilarious - I felt like I was talking to a friend! Great vibes at Wild Oats ????
I visited Wild Oat for the first time today. Beautiful spot. I was warmly greeted as soon as I walked in the door. The decor is warm and inviting. I bought an Americano for a friend (he said it was delicious), and I had a smoothie. There …
Great vegetarian restaurant. The staff are extremely helpful and the menu boards are detailed on ingredients. I often come here when I'm in Ottawa.
Great food, especially vegetarian and vegan options. A little cramped and cozy, but it adds to the vibe in this neighbourhood bakery.
Amazing environment which impressed me enough to want to work there. I have since submitted my resume awaiting a call back for interview.
Very cute shop. They have delicious baked goods; many vegan options. They also have a breakfast and lunch menu; again, many delicious vegan options :) They also have cute art on the wall that they switch up every month with a new artist!
The food was fabulous as always. The precautions to keep us safe in COVID times were reassuring and efficient. My visit was quick and I'm looking forward to going back.
There's is something for litterally everyone!!! I have so many allergies and sensitivities to food that it makes it hard to have deserts elsewhere. Live that place, their selection is amazing, the quality of their product is fantastic and they even offer a ingredients description for each of their items. The staff is also very nice and has good enough knowledge. I highly recommend this place for those with sensitivities!!
Great cafe and bakery. Has a health foods/ organic vibe. I tried the coffee and a sugar free muffin. Both were great!
Absolutely love Wild Oat, the service and especially the food are great! This is one of my favorite place in Ottawa to grab a coffee, breakfast or some baked goods and soups to go.
Not a huge menu, but very tasty! We ordered grilled cheese for the kids, a fruit salad on Greek yogurt and two mixed berry smoothies. The kids loved it all and the man working there (with the great beard) invented a new smoothie and offered the kids a few taste! The bakery side has wheat free options and veye tasty bread. Also, there is a BlueW water tap inside to fill your own water bottle and save the planet! Awesome!
I have known and been here baby times. This place is a great envorenviro, good food and humble staff. I always have had good good great xoffco and service. This is a place o Where Ottawa can be proud of. People work there are professional and courteous. It is a mix of bakery and restaurant attached. Parkin is easy to find in streets nearby and of you have to pay couple extra bucks for parking it is worth it, for a late breakfast, great coffee or their specialty drinks. Enjoy!
This has always been one of my favourite veggie restaurants. There is so much love in the food and the staff are usually very friendly and warm. The food is consistently delicious and fresh! Thanks for all the wonderful memories and meals :)
Delicious! Ordered the golden smoothie, falafel salas, crepe, and bean wrap. The bean wrap was so tasty and filling!
Great spot for vegan breakfast and lunch! Amazing selection of baked goods, and always delicious options in the steam table. Service is always quick and friendly.
Great place to eat or grab prepared baked goods and other foods for home. Very vegan and vegetarian friendly.
Amazing staff, so kind and friendly! Food was amazing and their Rosemary Goat cheese croissants are to die for!! I highly recommend
Super cute, always busy, amazing food and such kind staff!
Wonderful fresh food cooked to perfection. The service is fantastic and the atmosphere is laid back and casual. I eat here every day, whenever I visit Ottawa!!
Great coffee and sandwiches and their chocolate brunch cookies are addictive! Customer service is inconsistent.
I really enjoy the food at Wild Oat, but unfortunately it's not what I would call a high-value meal. Don't get me wrong, the ingredients are fresh, delicious, and healthy to boot, but when I pay $7 for a sandwich, I should not leave the restaurant still feeling very hungry. There should be more on the plate than the sandwich, one thin slice of cucumber and a slice of (bruised) apple. Even a handful of their yummy homefries on the plate would help round out the meal. Their breakfast, while more expensive, is more satisfying and filling, though it's only offered until 1 PM on Saturdays. I definitely wouldn't return to Wild Oat with an appetite, unless they were still serving breakfast.
I came to the restaurant side of the bakery. The staff at the restaurant side were very nice and answered my questions. The food was also very good. I came for a quick bite to eat. While reading the menu, I realized the restaurant is completely vegetarian, which is awesome! I ordered the Canadian Grilled cheese. The price was good for the quality of the food. - This grilled cheese was amazing and moderately filling. - It was made with award winning white cheddar, and caramelized onions. I would suggest eating it with a glass of water since every bite does have a lot of delicious cheese. - The caramelized onions and the white cheddar were a perfect mix. I really liked the sweet and savoury. Definitely coming back to try the smoothies and pastries.
The gluten free honey chocolate cake was to die for. One of the best iced americanos I've ever had. Service is great. I love coming in and feeling so welcome. Brittany is a fantastic baker. Everything is so fresh and natural tasting. No wonderbread here! Oh the brunch cookies are also one of my favourites. And the granola.
Good service and great vegan, organic and fair trade options! The interior is very cozy and it smells AMAZING. I had the east meets west sandwich, lemon curd bar, and the carrot cake. The sandwich was really good and filling, and the caramelized onion made the tofu sweeter. The lemon tart wasn’t my favourite - a bit too sour, but it’s personal preference. The carrot cake was very textured and the cream cheese icing was perfect. Would definitely come again!
Super duper nice staff. I love their omelettes, great tea selection and their butter croissants are EXCELLENT! A good butter croissant is not easy to achieve and the Wild Oat gets 5 stars for that. My daughter had a yummy smoothie so she was happy :)
We got a savoury rosemary croissant and some lovely service and enjoyed the flakiest pasty ever. So good ????
Delicious pastries (rosemary goat cheese croissant is highly recommended) and wonderful service.
This food and friendly atmosphere. Coffee was delicious. A bit of a health food style bakery; bread, lentil soup, grilled cheese sandwich...
Excellent foods and vibes for a coffee shop and bakery. Takeout food has great selections thsf would make good be for meals. Many gluten free/vegan/vegetarian options.
Busy place nowere to really stand. Prices are A little high. Coffee is very good. Service is good.. Im clusterfobi so for me to stand and wate for my coffee i canot cause of loud chattering of lots of customers and over crowded most of the time. I been once and would go again when there less costumers which i have never seen till this day.
One of the best vegetarian treasures in Ottawa! The food is always changing, super warm and comforting even. The location has lots of space to sit down but keep in mind that it is always pretty full because of how good the food is. The desserts, pastries and bread are also amazing. Highly recommend to anyone, even non vegetarians. Try it out!
Everything on the menu here is a must try. Coffee quality is high along with their other beverages on their menu. My personal favourite is the Oaxaca sandwich. The baked good area has some of the most amazing smelling breads out there. The cream cheese brownie is a bit of a guilty pleasure.
Went there twice. The place is really fantastic. The pastry is very tasty. The backed bread is good too. The service is great.
I came across this place while shopping and decided to see if there were any gluten free options and I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of gluten free food, they have so many options! The staff were super friendly explaining all of …
I stopped in for a Sunday morning breakfast here and enjoyed it. The atmosphere and decor is warm and welcoming. Service is great, everyone working here is open to answering questions and making accomodations as necessary. The food is delicious, especially the sweet potatoe fries and homemade hot sauce. If I lived in Ottawa, I would come again.
The rosemary goat cheese croissant is best croissant I’ve ever had! Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. And the flavour is out of this world. I get it at least twice a week. Plus, I’m always met by friendly faces and good conversation. Specific shoutout to Rachel for always making me feel welcome!!
Excellent food, great breakfast, best square potatoes ever. Great service, great coffee and tea, true blue vegetarian experience. Loved it.
Freshly baked goods, small plates and hot and cold drinks in a chill, casual cafe.
Great place, free filtered water, space for children with books to keep them occupied. I want to keep coming back. Their honey cake is amazing and even though small, it is enough for all 7 of us!
One of my favourite spots in Ottawa. Their sourdough boule is on my grocery list every week. I also love to keep a couple of their red lentil dahl soups in my freezer. The staff are always so friendly and helpful they are honestly the best. When I’m able to sit down for breakfast at the Wild Oat I love to get the breakfast sandwich on a croissant because their croissants are so flaky and delicious. When I have friends in from out of town and want to take them somewhere local this is where I take them for breakfast or lunch. It’s a staple in the Glebe and hopefully will continue to be around for a long time!
I wish this place was close to home! Excellent coffee and healthy food options whether baked goods or homemade buffet. Very delicious with a charming, rustic atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Great espresso. Great gluten free bread made in house. Their breakfast Wild Plate is a favourite of mine.
We found this place on a booklet from our hotel. After some research online we decided to give it a try. They have two storefronts, the bakery and the cafe. The food is very tasty, reasonable priced and big portion! The service is very good, we even saw a lineup on a Tuesday!
Breakfasts look great and the food is made with fresh ingredients. The sandwiches are small for the price and they forgot my lunch order so not much to say about it. Would return for the interesting bakery.
Their food is delicious. They sell regular baked items as well as gluten-free and dairy-free ones. The atmosphere is comfortable. I usually get their pain-de-vie which is a really good bread that seems to be made out of seeds and nuts.
Great vegetarian and vegan food. They also have a some fish on their menu. Has a bakery side and a small restaurant side. They also have some food in fridges and freezers to take home.
Wild Oat is everything a vegetarian person could dream of. There's hot food, breads, beautiful desserts and a full cafe/restaurant. I got the kale salad and coconut latte, and my partner got the curry and a spicy vegan brownie. Both were incredible. The atmosphere is also lovely.
Delicious food with vegan and gluten free options. Such a cozy spot with take out and dine in options. The staff are super friendly and always make great suggestions. My fave here is the El Oaxaca and I always get a fresh smoothie. So yummy and healthy too!
These hippies know how to bake. Can't recall the situation vis-à-vis raisins in butter tarts / cinnamon buns, so be sure to ask when you order to avoid finding unwanted, squishy madness in your otherwise perfect baked goods.
Awesome spot for breakfast for the carnivore and the vegan. Lots of options for sensitive stomachs - welcoming environment with lots of healthy options.
This place is a local gem and I make sure to go there every time I'm in Ottawa. It's all vegetarian & vegan. Everything is good. You can't go wrong. I could live off thier lentils. ????????????
So cute! They offer tons of yummy and unique options, sweet and savoury. Everything we tried was delicious, the lemon square is *super* tart which I love. The baguette is crispy and soft in the most perfect way. A little on the pricey side but that’s to be expected for high quality homemade baked goods!
Nice cozy little cafe and bakery. They sell prepared foods and baked items to take away in one half and a sit down Cafe in the other half. They also sell roasted coffee beans. Their breakfasts are quite good and baked goods are also delicious. Small space so it can get quite crowded and noisy. Not a place to study, etc.
Decent vegetarian food. Lacks a bit of flavoring and originality compared to other local vegetarian restaurants. Still a very nice place for brunch. They also have a bakery attached to the restaurant.
I went there for breakfast and got the omelette...it was soooo delicious! You can choose from a list of veggies for your omelette and enjoy! It is a pretty chill atmosphere too! I went to the bakery when it ooened to grab some just baked banana muffins and now, my week is gonna be good.
Vegan eats available. Bakery has a freezer section with ingredients that make your week guilt free and easy.
Great number of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan selection of treats. Very friendly staff and tasty food make for an overall lovely pit stop.
Fresh and healthy food, made to order or available from self serve station. Lots of fresh baked breads and treats. Great breakfast and sandwiches, the wild plate and wild-a-beast burger are some of my favourites. Great selection of teas, smoothies and licensed also, serving local brewery staples. Anyone with a food allergy or vegetarians will not be disappointed. Friendly staff and warm atmosphere. Arrive early on weekends or event days, this place fills up fast.
cute little spot with lots of yummy treats for all dietary needs, the staff are very nice and friendly!
A must visit cafe! The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Their menu is amazing and the prices are reasonable. The place is also very clean and well maintained. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Their chocolate cake is to die for. ???????? Smoked bean wrap is also super yummy!!
I went for breakfast and had a awful experience. It started off when they lost our order, and when we asked them about it they said "we will put it on next" but then put the order in the regular queue (we could see the kitchen). After the liars got us our food it was quite bland. The home fries tasted like just salt and the eggs tasted like just butter. It wasn't bad, but there wasn't anything good about it either. We took home some baked goods in hopes that it was only the restaurant that was bad but the also weren't very flavourful and we were dissatisfied with those as well. I really can't find a single good thing about the experience other then the company I was with. I would never go back.
I've been going here for years and will never stop coming! Their breakfast is to die for and their black bean spread is great to take home.
Love their gluten free treats, so delicious
Delicious croissants and a great offer of multiple breads. We missed an indoor area to eat on our rainy morning
Warm and cosy coffee served by even warmer staff. The selection of bread is really great, too!
I have an unblemished record of staunch carnivorous behaviours, so this was not an obvious choice for me, however the wild oat delivers tasty food, great drinks and super service every time. Can't ask for more.
Great eatery in the Glebe with foods choices available for those with intolerances of various forms. The decor is bohemian with plenty of local artist's work on display to amplify the mood. Adjacent to the restaurant is a bakery that sells most if not all of the goods available for order on the menu. A health conscience restaurant able to feed the needs of all diners. Treat yourself anything on the menu, or the daily special, either way you'll be coming away from your visit very satisfied and satiated.
Fantastic breakfast sandwich with croissant. Will definitely come back to try other bakery treats.
Got a delicious smoky black bean wrap, and had it made vegan.
Really cute spot for grabbing coffee, bread, bakery items and sweets. Also have a great selection of interesting smoothies. Basically an Ottawa institution for foodies, while keeping everything as local and sustainable as possible.
I love wild oats, the staff there are A1 and make the visit all the more enjoyable Everytime! They offer a great sélection of vegan options and their vegan muffins are amazing and of great value! Around $5.5 for a muffin and large coffee (muffin is huge!)
Just go and grab yourself a freshly made treat. It's that simple. Take home some bread while you're at it.
Try their rosemary and goat cheese croissant - you won't be disappointed!
Helpful staff. Great selection of baked goods. Excellent coffee. Bread is excellent and a reasonable price.
As a bakery , they are successful. The price is reasonable & every food there is good. The interior design is good too. & the staff there is very friendly & helpful.
Was my favourite bakery for breakfasts and desserts when I lived in a Ottawa. I still make a stop when I fly in to visit, the bakery has amazing gluten free no cheese pizza and the dessert selection for dairy free and gluten reduced/free is impressive! Huge fan of their breakfast. All around a must try and I guarantee you will find something delicious that will make you want to return.
Just had their dill + roasted potato salad and their kale, cranberry, feta and toasted pepita salad. I'm addicted! I see myself coming here all the time to try everything they have. What a treasure this place is!
I absolutely love wild oat. This place is a gem within the city of Ottawa. It reminds me a lot of Vermont/New Hampshire. Rustic, low key, and funky. The staff are equally as enchanting with their unique quirks and personalities. There are so many things on the menu that I absolutely love. The vegetarian crepe, weekend eggs Benedict, wild oat plate, smoothies, cream cheese brownie...the list goes on! They get much of their ingredients locally sourced which means farm to table. The prices are more than reasonable and food is of the utmost quality.
Love everything about this cafe, great treats, fabulous hot bar and incredible sandwiches. Staff are patient while I take my time deciding on what treats to get!
Never disappointed. Great vegetarian and vegan option in the Glebe.
Incredible place to visit for amazing good and drinks. Our regular weekly spot. Keep up the amazing service and experience! Thanks so much!!!
Wild Oat Bakery and Cafe has some incredible pastries and breakfasts. Their croissants are amazing, and you can tell that they spent a lot of time perfecting their recipe. I loved both the plain butter croissant and the rosemary and goat cheese one. I will definitely be coming back here the next time I'm in Ottawa! I highly recommend you go and try out their croissants.
Lots of variety of delicious take-out snacks, even late in the day, with friendly service.
Great service, good and tasty food options.
I didnt know this place is vegetarian so it's probably unfair for me to review it (being non veg) Friendly people, coffee is good. Bakery items are good but not very fresh Food I've had pizza and it's the worst I've ever had In my life. It just tastes weird and it was expensive too. I will try to avoid this place
I have been going to the Wild Oat for almost 10 years now. Whenever I do go it’s usually for their great breakfast (I love their combination of potatoes with the traditional breakfast) or for a lunchtime snack. My favourite is the root pate! The reason for the two stars is due to an experience I had with an allergic reaction to one of their baked goods. I was looking for a quick snack so I stopped in at the bakery for a muffin. I had asked, as I usually do, about the flour used in the muffin because I have a legume allergy and the use of chickpea flour has become prevalent with the move to more gluten-free alternatives. I was assured that my muffin was safe, although looking back it didn’t seem as though the cashier was all too concerned about it. I was halfway through the muffin when I started having a reaction. I was disappointed in how careless a place I loved to frequent could be with something as serious as allergies.
What a wonderful warm welcome from staff this morning and a great suggestion about the "burger" wrap. It was delicious!! Thanks Wild Oat !
Wild oat is cozy, and nice and our go to place. The menu is one of the best in Ottawa with so many attractive items so you would always need to choose between many of the items you love. Awesome smoothies, pasteries, breakfast and sandwitches, and even great as a cafe. The self service fill up your bowl is great both for picking up a home made quality take out or for a quick guilt free meal.
Hot food bar is excellent! I do tend to get the same items, but I just can't resist. Lemon squares and cheesecake brownies are a must if you need something sweet. This place is always busy with locals.
Great food, great baked goods, great, helpful, friendly courteous staff. Give me a Wild-a-Beest burger, dal and carrot cake please
Yummy coffee and amazing bakery !!! Always worth a stop when in Ottawa in the Gleb neighborhood !!!
I lucked out and got the GF bread literally as it came out of the oven. It was so good and the crust is crunchy! I also had a latte and that was delicious too.
I tried a couple of vegetarian ????. It was so delicious!. I'm happy with the price and the size of the pizzas. Especially I liked the one with sunflower seeds.
Go here and just EAT. It truly has been no fail every time I’ve gone. I always find mouthwatering scores at the bakery, even as a celiac & vegan. Similarly, every meal I’ve had on the café side is so satisfying and full of flavour. My last visit I had a roasted veggie sandwich on GF bread and I may have moaned when I bit in. Bring a book, grab a coffee, order some wholesome and genuinely delish food, and park yourself in one of the window seats to people- and dog-watch along Bank. I never fail to stop by here when I visit Ottawa and highly recommend it!
Love this place, always makes the neighborhood smell amazing and has great baked goods. Love the croissants and soups, recently tried the cheesecake squares and it was soo good.
Some of the best croissants and chocolate croissants I have ever had and I am from France.. Fantastic!
Staff was quick and the food was satisfying...definitely check out their selection of treats! (The atmosphere, decor, and cleanliness could be improved. There was an annoying fruit fly I could not get away from my table.)
I have been buying granola and other healthy foods at Wild Oat for many years. It is a great little place where everything is made from scratch using mostly if not all organic ingredients.
My favourite restaurant/cafe. The food is delicious, healthy and fairly priced. The staff are friendly. The design is cozy and warm. It's the perfect place whether you're looking to enjoy a meal alone or spend time with family and friends. I've been going regualrily for years and I love it every time.
By far my favourite restaurant in town. Not only is the food spectacular but the service is too! Such a friendly atmosphere, so cozy too! And as well for food, I brought some friends who are very much meat eaters and wary of "gross" vegetarian meals. They loved the food, and were pleasantly surprised at how much they enjoyed their food!
Blueberry-Tofu muffin is wonderful, coffee is tops! Staff is always friendly!!!!!
Always a friendly welcome and homely atmosphere. AMAZING SPICY VEGAN BROWNIE, cough cough :-) Also I really enjoyed the Vegan Wild Plate for breakfast. I always make a point to stop in when Im in town, ALWAYS.
The Wild Oat continues to offer delicious, healthy, well-priced food. Their bakery selections include treats of cookies, bars, scones, cinnamon rolls as well as a selection of breads that can be sliced for everyday use. They have awesome vegan treats. For lunches and dinners, there are pizzas and bar -none fresh salads. The fridge and freezer have take-away sustainable fish meals, soups, 5 star dahl and yoghurt and eggs. The hot bar is my go-to for a main meal and the cafe is the place to sit and enjoy a meal and chat with friends. It's all in a friendly atmosphere with excellent staff and service. Absolutely love this place.
One if the best food spots in the Glebe! Their self serve hot dishes are always super yummy and healthy! They're always different, I've had Indian curries, African roasted veggie stews, chickpea stews, my mouth is watering thinking about it. And they come with their house made bread. Yum!!
Really enjoyed their shepherd's pie, it's nice to have another place where I can find gluten free food!! …
never had anything from the Wild Oat I didn't like. staff are always super kind, friendly and knowledgeable about their products
I had a coffee and a pastry with a friend. We'd been there for about an hour when the woman clearing the tables asked if we were planning on ordering anything else. When we said no, she reminded us that it might be time for us to leave because people were waiting for tables. First and last time for me.
Very good food, ridiculously friendly staff who go above and beyond
Great experience, even considering Covid-19 restrictions. Staff are amazing - warm, friendly and courteous! Food is delicious.
When I opened the box of sweets, they were all over the place! It was my fault :). Irresistible! I also love your bread. Grill them on the barbecue and melt cheese on them! Outstanding service as always.
Sweets and croissants are great. Just some items are a little overpriced. A little pizza bread is over $8 and a packed soup is over $11.
Delicious vegetarian and vegan food and smoothies, a warm and loving atmosphere, a bakery with a small pre made meals section, and local artists displayed on the wall. One of my favourite places in town.
I have lived my furst experience at Wild Oats and it will bow be my official to-go Ottawa place to grab some vegan & vegetarian meal options! The place itself has a charm of it’s own and a rather calm and inviting atmosphere. The bar serves breakfast and the workers are greatly friendly!
I haven’t had the pleasure of dining in as of yet but have ordered Wild Oat for delivery a few times now and it has been consistently good. The food is fresh and healthy, the smoothies are well-made and I recently got one of their full bread loaves and it was quite good as well! Great spot for breakfast or lunch as well as grabbing a few essentials for the kitchen at home.
Nice bakery, but Artisin is better, as is the True Loaf bakery on Gladstone - my favourite. And it is hard to find whole grain bread or real 100% rye at this bakery.
The breakfast here is awesome, if you don't need bacon or sausage. My friend took me here the first time explaining that a good breakfast doesn't require meat, and after eating this you don't feel heavy or tired like the usual grease-fest. He was right. The eggs are always cooked perfectly to order, and the sides are tasty and healthier than any standard diner. I recommend the 'Wild Oat Plate' so that you get the lovely vegetable medley with melted cheese on top, as well as home fries. Don't forget their awesome jam (free side) as it is a signature. Unlike any diner breakfast I've had, the coffee here is excellent.
Great food, great coffee, great variety of baked goods, friendly service. Thanks for cheerfully continuing to serve our community during the pandemic.
Love this place! Warm, friendly and earth conscious. Feels like the place that will welcome everyone as they are. I love their communal table which allows strangers to sit together and converse. Vegetarian and vegan options. All their dishes were delicious and chock-filled with ingredients that your body will love you for. They probably have one of the most amazing omelettes ever.
Good service, family friendly, lots of variety in food. A highly recommended meal spot for vegetarians/vegans and meat eaters alike! Can get busy and fill up quickly at peak times.
Have only gone here once, but am really looking forward to going back again soon. Had an excellent gluten free breakfast sandwich, the rare treat of a gluten free blueberry muffin, and purchased way more gluten free desserts than I should have, but they were all amazing too. They were totally worth the extra calories. Check their website before you go, because their menu changes daily.
Everyone was so nice. The food was delicious and prices were fair.
Just ordered their carrot cake through Uber Eats. Out of this world!! It is best ever i've ever had in the city of Ottawa. :)
The food is inventive and excellent, the coffee is great and we loved the smoothies too. However, the best part about this place is the people, who are caring and attentive and work really hard to make your experience pleasant even at the busiest times.
Wild oat is awesome! I go there often to get desserts for my workplace where we have multiple food aversions and sensitivities and they always provide something amazing! The cafe food is also good and they have non-dairy/vegan options. Would highly suggest!
The rosemary goat cheese croissant is immaculate, everything else I've tried is meh (to my taste). I would rate this place 5 stars for the croissant alone, except over the last month I've gone in 4 times, no later than 12:30, and they're always sold out. Wild Oat, you're breaking my heart.
Love the food and the atmosphere. Friendly staff that go above and beyond to help you. They try to use local produce as well which is a plus.
Came in tonight with a gift card. When I asked about the options available for the gift card the staff was absolutely amazing. They encouraged me to try anything off of the menu, without making me feel confined to any certain options. The manager, a lovely little ginger, was so excited that it was my first time and made me feel very welcome. I'll be back for sure!! Xo
Good, healthy, well prepared food. Service is excellent. My go-to for vegetarian. Highly recommend.
Their prepared vegetarian meals are (usually) delish and great value. $ 10 for a huge container - enough for 3 meals, so about $ 3 per serving . The Hungarian Goulash and african peanut butter curry are SO good.
I like meat, a lot. But I would (and have) happily eaten three meals a day here. For lunch and takeaway dinners the hot food is tasty and healthy - don't be afraid to fill up your bowl. For a snack the cinnamon buns and the reasonably priced coffee that is well made (thanks JP) . Wild plate is a great breakfast deal. Just don't order the cream budwig unless you know what you are getting into.
