I've been a big fan of Three Tarts for a while now, and this was confirmed recently. I ordered a cake for my wife's birthday (the Chocolate Symphony cake). We were running late on the day of pickup and spoke with Emily from Three Tarts to assure her we were on our way. She kept in constant contact with us and, despite the fact that we arrived 30 minutes after the store closed, she was there waiting with the cake. Kudos to a great cake and fantastic customer service.

Three Tarts Bakeshop is an institution in Ottawa. They are my favourite bakery in the city, bar none. They are my go-to for cakes, tarts and pies so I thought they would be the perfect addition to the dessert table at our wedding. We reached out to Emily at Three Tarts to pick an array of desserts, including homemade tarts, chocolate-covered marshmallows, cookies, and macaroons that stayed in our budget and arrange delivery to our venue the morning of our wedding. Although we didn’t get to try the desserts on the night of, we heard from our guests that they were delicious and the empty dessert table at the end of the night spoke volumes. Thank you, Three Tarts!

I discovered Three Tarts a few years ago when my sister had a lemon cloud cake delivered for my birthday. It's been a wonderful relationship ever since. Beautifully presented and sumptuous tarts and pies and fantastic, responsive customer service. Very easy to place online orders and pick up during COVID-19. Emily goes above and beyond and is a true culinary artist. You won't regret anything you purchase here, as a treat for yourself or as a special gift.

I ordered three desserts to take out: their vanilla cake, the vanilla apple tart, and a raspberry fruit tart. All three were amazing - not too sweet like most desserts, with a ton of flavor and amazing textures. The staff were really friendly and helpful in selecting the right desserts to pick for my guests. This is my new favorite dessert place in Ottawa hands down.

Top marks for service and safety precautions; 4.5 stars for the White Chocolate Cheesecake Brownie, 3.5 stars for the selection of treats they had left by 1 pm Saturday.

A bright airy bakery offering beautiful tarts, cakes and other treats. A bit pricey but for special occasions this is definitely the place to get something to impress your guests and friends. Their menu is on line and it is recommended to order ahead if you want something in particular. Parking can be difficult since this is on Bank St. Metered parking is available on the street directly in front and across and there is a small pay parking lot across the street as well.

I am seriously obsessed with this place and am so happy they have stayed open during the pandemic. I particularly love that you can purchase cakes and pies by the slice...you can try all of the different flavours without having to purchase the entire thing! Personal faves are the French chocolate mousse cake and any of the fruit tarts (the pastry is incredible!!).

They baked amazingly. The scone touched my heart. For the second time visiting we tried various small treats on their shelves. Every type of them has some thing amazing. We like the soft moisture taste of the pistachio biscuit, and can not believe they make such great beacon cubes. For the chocolate square biscuit (yes the one with a heart on it), we did not expect much from it since it looks ordinary, but the taste exceed my expectation. A little bit bitter flavor is added in that gives the taste more layers, and makes it stand out. The attention of the details such like that make me feel the passion of the baker. Downside: When I walked in that day the shelves are almost empty. And it was not in evening. Probably due to storage problems they have to carefully control the volume, or it was just an accidence happening on that day. But I have not get any chance to try any tart at 3 tarts.......crying

I absolutely loveeee this place! Everything they bake is from heaven! Their tiramisu, pecan cake, homemade jam, and literally everything! Whatever you order, don't forget the tiny cookies right beside the cash (I forgot their names). Everything is a bit pricy but it's worth it!

The beswt treats in town! Everyting form beuatiful cakes to delicious squares and cookies....Three Tarts is my favourite. Try the Milk Tarts (if you can get them!) and warm scones on Staturday mornings. Order ahead for all hiolidays and special occasions...worth the trip form other areas of hte city :)

Really enjoyed the Chocolate Symphony Cake. Perfect size for a small gathering (I got 9 slices out of this cake) and I found it was a good price. I would recommend checking out their Instagram if you want to see photos of their cakes before ordering. Looking forward to trying out their other baked goods!

Went in today because I was in the area. Bought a dream bar, lemon tart and a hungarian rhubarb bar (which they only make fri and sat)! That one turned out to be my favorite since it was tart and just sweet enough! The lemon tart looked cuter than it tasted and the dream bar was decent enough. I've noticed that their desserts aren't overly sweet and decadent but it worked out for me since I wasn't looking for anything too rich. The items were a bit pricey but nothing too bad if you're going once in a while.

This place makes my FAVOURITE lemon tarts! I first tried one of their pies brought by a friend and knew I had to pay a visit. The staff is so incredibly friendly. It’s a great location too, busable by 101, 7, 6, and 14. It’s also walkable if you are going down bank street from the Glebe or downtown. I love picking up a treat whenever I’m in the area.

I haven't yet tried their tarts (although I hear how fantastic they are) because I still can't get over how good the cookies are. Their banana bread is also very scrumptious. The service is quick and the staff very friendly and helpful. I love all the cookies ! Their chocolate pecan cookie is perfection ! its sooo mouth watering delicious, just thinking of it now makes me drool.

Got an amazing cake for a friends birthday a while back and it was so good. They personalized the cake for me no problem and while I was there picking it up I couldn't help but treat myself to a butter tart as they are one of my favorites, amazing! A wonderful bakery! I have tried most of their baked goods at this point, and the quality is unmatched. A go-to for special occasions or a mid-week pick-me-up. Such an amazing Bakery. Get there early in the day otherwise everything will sell out. Everything is made fresh daily on site. Parking can be a bit tricky as it's right on Bank Street but on weekends there's ample parking allowed. Aside from the excellent smells coming from the kitchen, one thing I noticed about this Bakery is that it is pristinely clean. It has been in business for many many years and it's very clear as to why. Highly recommend a visit to this Gem of a bakery owned and operated by three fabulous women. #localguide

My go-to dessert spot for when I have guests over. I have tried a variety of cakes and tarts, and have never been disappointed with anything. Everything has been wonderfully delicious! What I love most about this bakery is that nothing is overwhelming sweet, everything is just right. The textures and flavours are lovely. It’s evident that they care about the ingredients that go into their creations.

Highest score possible for this place, and then some! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Real baking at work here. The best pastry place in Ottawa! No doubt about it. She uses the best quality ingedients (you can tell when you taste / eat something). She doesn't over-sweeten her items either (like so many other places tend to do). By not over-sweetening, the natural flavours come through. Everything she does is to perfection and consistancy. Yes, this shop is on the pricey side - but you are buying top quality (not a bag of baked suger). We discovered 3 Tarts in West Wellington - before she relocated to her current Bank St. location. Currently a quasi-vegan - but I have not always been. That said, allow me to strongly recommend the following: - Anything lemon-flavoured. The lemon curd she makes for her pies and tarts is deliciously and perfectly tart. - My accomplice loves her seasonal pumpkin cheesecake (and as a vegan now ... I miss it). You are safe with anything you buy here - that's a given. When I need a special gift for someone, I'll occassionally drop in here and have them make me up a box of mixed cookies, with one or two of those bars (whatever they're called), and toss in a brownie or two too. Sure to please the recipient everytime.

So happy Three Tarts is open during the pandemic and especially during the winter to satisfy those sweet tooth cravings. The butter tarts have the flakiest crust and the crust to filling ratio is on point. I love their cheesecakes, dense and rich in texture. My favourite is the lemon meringue pie... Rather than a wedding cake, we opted for a pie table by Three Tarts. It got rave reviews from guests, and everything looked beautiful. The service we received was fantastic - it was easy to order, the pies were delivered on-time with handling/serving instructions, and the shop even followed up with our coordinator to ensure everything was OK.
