Poor customer service, need to call them a hundred times it’s by chance if they pick up the phone, the employes are never able to assist you or answer questions in store!!!! Absolutely did not like this place. All of the desserts we got were either way too sweet without any real flavor or tasted otherwise gross. The staff was quite slow and not particularly helpful. And nothing in the store had a price on it when we went and we weren't given a receipt. Overall bad experience and wouldn't recommend.

Visiting from Penna, family in Ottawa, heard about the baklava end pieces (and other bits) they sell for discount wrapped on counter near door. Not pretty but so good and great introduction to the wide variety of stunning Lebanese and French-style desserts especially types of baklava. The kind ladies who worked there have to handle long lines and throngs of customers, and were polite, efficient and even gave me a sample of something that I "oohed" at (a gigantic round flat type of cheesecake), darn delicious. Christmas Eve just got better with my purchase :)

I just came back from LaBrioche with what i thought was a good purchase of sweets! Apparently they had a problem in their debit machine so they were only accepting cash! I just realised that I paid 30$ for a total of maximum 23$ according to the girl that helped me! I don't have a receipt to go back and reclaim my right! It is my fault too that i didn't relise that while i was in the shop!! So yes i got scammed!! If the sweets were not good, you don't deserve a star from me! Happy New Year!

My daughter is allergic to peaches and I placed the same order i get EVERY YEAR for my kids and my birthday ???? for a Strawberry cream cake with only strawberries. Picked up my cake as usual and when I gave it to her and family last night it was full of all kinds of fruits including peaches. My daughter was not allowed to have any if her birthday cake due to the mix up and them adding peaches. Ok I figure its a mistake and I always had great service so I called and the person in the evening was very rude to me and refused to tell me her name and hung up on me not even caring about the mix up and reason for my call. No one will take my information for the manager to call me back and he is not in everytime I call they say I don't know I don't know call back tomorrow...meanwhile my daughter still has not had one piece of her own birthday cake due to a mistake on their part and no one is offering any solution to resolve a 15 year old who was looking forward to her favorite cake in the world without mixed fruits and not one strawberry inside like I ordered. The poorest customer service in 6 years :( please make this right La Brioche.

Great selection of Middle Eastern sweets and treats. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only thing holding me back from giving a 5 is one of the treats we purchased was pretty bland. Admittedly, I am not an expert in Middle Eastern baked goods - perhaps that's how it is supposed to be - but it didn't quite work for me. Overall though, would definitely recommend!

La Brioche is a family owned, always delicious bakery which never disappoints! Not only are the Safa’s always pleasant and great to chat with, but the treats are constantly yummy! The chocolate cake is so thick and moist, along with being beautifully decorated :) If you don’t want a full sized cake, their small pieces of cake are a wonderful little treat! There is a diverse selection of Middle Eastern cookies and pastries, along with a great blend of more traditional bakery items like macaroons and carrot cake to name a few! I’ve been coming here a while now and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon :)

Was one of my favorite Middle Eastern pastery until today. I stopped by to buy french pastery, the young lady who serving me used her bare hands to handle the food. When I asked her shouldn't she be using gloves or tongs, she said "Yes" I am supposed to!! I had to walk away and did not buy anything. Food hygiene and handling is a serious matter especially in these COVID times.

To be honest, if you are looking for a bad service and want your child not to have a birthday cake you can come to this bad place. We ordered birthday cake for my daughter but they didn't care and I didn't get what I wanted. In addition, I have not heard a word. I feel that they are sorry. I must admit, I don't think I've ever gotten past their baklava to try anything else here.. It's probably some of the best, (if not the best) I've ever had! The staff here are always super friendly and smiling whenever I've gone in and I've been offered a sample of the baklava I'm drooling over more than a couple times. Whenever a guest is coming over I often scramble over to La Brioche for some Baklava--it has always been a smashing success. Entering this shop feels kind of like entering into a different world, or at least into something culturally very beautiful. The seriously troublesome part is that they're open kind of late (11pm ish) which is extraordinarily dangerous when one has a severe late night snack fetish..

Very disappointed, went there to order 5 days before my event and they said just choose any picture from our website or Facebook, after they asked me to call the day after to confirm with the chef, when I called the day after they said I called late and the chef is gone and I should call 8 in the morning. I called the next day they said the chef doesn't work that day i have to call the day after, and finally when I called they were just passing my messages to him and his to me but I wanted to talk to the chef personally so they were not helpful at all. At the end they said chef can not make that cake because that cake is made with fondant.and yeah the chef is very busy and he leaves the store at 2pm. Most of the pictures they have is cakes with fondant but the chef doesn't make those cakes any more. Every time I called there was a new person answering and I had to explain everything to them, it was my first and last time there.

One of the best bakeries in Ottawa, and hands-down the best baklava I've ever had. The staff is also super nice and really helpful. Their pistachio macaroons are to die for!! Also make sure to check out the parcels on the top of the cooler just inside the door. They will package up the ends they cut off of the baklava and sell you a whole tray for a big discount--less pretty but still just as delicious!

This Bakery sells some traditional Middle Eastern desserts. There baklava was delicious but my favorite cookie they sell is a cookie dipped in coconut flakes with a creamy white filling. It is a little pricey though. What you'll do is select all the desserts you want on a plate soze you choose, which is later put on a scale and priced according to the total weight.

I love my Lebanese pastries so when I decide to indulge I come to La Brioche. They are always so fresh and have a wide assortment that keeps me coming back. However, I recently put my faith into them to create a cake for a special occasion and sadly it did not satisfy quite like their pastries do. I sent them a simple design to replicate, which they confidently confirmed they could recreate, and when I came to pick up the cake I was unimpressed at how poorly it compared to the image I had showed them. Firstly, the fondant on the cake was noticeably too thick – I could tell without even without cutting into it. The words written on it were uneven and awkwardly spaced out. The design on the center was off to the side. It just looked like it was thrown together at the last second. I asked for chocolate cake with strawberry filling, but the chocolate was more like black forest. It tasted good but could have been better. Oh and I waited an hour for them to finish the cake. All that to say, I would go elsewhere and avoid the disappointment if you’re looking to have a specialty cake made.

I had personally gone to the store to place the order so everything is understood clearly and despite that they lost my order because they take it so unprofessionally on a piece of paper which was apparently no where to be found and then I received a call a day before the event, I had to explain everything to them all over again and send them an email too everything in writing. And guess what they did on the day of the bridal shower made a cake that looked completely different than what I wanted and the colors didn't match the shade I gave them and the surface looked like worms with no apologies or compensation for this disaster on such a special day for my sister. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE THESE PEOPLE DONOT CARE ABOUT YOU!!!

Customer service is okay - the lady working at the cash didn't have a mask on. It was hanging on her chin which defeats the whole purpose of wearing a mask. The baklava and kunafa are delicious.

Some of their desserts are good, others not so much. I specifically like the cream filled desserts as the nut filled dessert tends to lack in taste. Their baclava is stale and so are a lot of their middle eastern desserts. It’s okay when comparing this place to others in Ottawa, but I’ll only ever go there if I’m desperate. Edit: I reduced the rating to two stars due to my last visit- after waiting in line for 10 minutes they ignored me and helped the person who came after me because she said she was in a rush.

I can’t speak for the food, but I was APPALLED at the sanitary standards here. No gloves, no masks, and no hand washing between touching money and food. I was very disappointed. Ottawa is a red zone... this is unacceptable

These guys have been around for at least 25 years. Many middle eastern dessert places opened and closed, no one was able to compete with their quality or their prices. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and because of their deserved popularity nothing stays long so everything is always fresh.

This place was always our favorite place for desert until this week. I went to buy 2 kilos of baklava and a large Christmas log as gifts for my sisters. The Christmas log (buche de Noël) was not good at all. My sister and her family could not eat it. The taste was bad. The baklava also seemed like it was not fresh.

Apr 9 first time I've been and the dessert I had was amazing. Not sure what it is called but was phyllo pastry with an amazing cream filling and pastachio nuts on top and it was still warm. Omg it was fabulous. I will definitely make it a stop next time I'm in Ottawa.

The 2 ladies I found there kept on talking to each other for a minute or so ignoring me completely while I was the only remaining customer! After my cake was wrapped up in the box, she put it on the counter and turned to keep on talking to her colleague and just deposited the receipt next to the box. I just picked up the box and left. I only bought from them because it was a bit late and didn't have enough time to go somewhere else.
