I've been going there for a while mask less due our medical condition. we enjoy the bagels from this place but today went there with my son and some guy (maybe new owner)said you cant entered without a mask. most of the staff are friendly and serve us fine wit no issues before. You Must honor and respect exempt people to shop too as the bylaws says so... of course, thats if you care. Tim hurtons here we come.

This is the second time I have been to pick up a nice lunch (like I do in my hometown) but arrived and there has been next to no bagel selection. I have gone both times around 1030 /1100 in the morning and am disappointed that this location is so different. There's nothing great about this bagel location, it should kicked out of the franchise. Will no longer give my money to a location that only has 3 types of bagels available.

Horrible customer service. The person on staff put food in her mouth, then proceeded to serve me without washing her hands. When I asked for ham, she just said "No ham" no "sorry" or anything. When I went to go pick out a drink while my bagel toasted, she proceeded to dress it without asking my preferences, dousing the bagel in mayo, which I do not eat. I just wasted almost $9 on a bagel I can't eat, and I can't go back as I went there with just enough time before my shift started to eat. Overpriced garbage.

This store offers tasty bagel and sandwiches that are affordable. They even offer combo meals for breakfast or lunch so you will enjoy your bagel or sandwich with a cup of amazing coffee or your preferred drinks. They have quick service and friendly attendant staffs. The place is clean and tidy, and most importantly, they practice Covid19 safety precautions. I definitely enjoyed my quick stop for french toast and coffee. Thank you! I will be back to try other meal deal.

I have loved this place for years. The staff share the same attitude with that Cobb's bread place. Just so much kinder than they need to be, and it makes it all the more worth it. They aren't just a friendly smile though, their food could speak entirely for itself if it had to. Bag full of bagels? Some of the best I've ever had. Breakfast sandwich? It's like the kind that's too good to be true that you'd see in movies and stuff. I make no exaggeration when I say there's probably no better bagel place in the country. If there is, then each bagel would have to be made out of literal magic. They exceed my expectations in every way.

Total dump. Had maybe 1/3rd of their normal selection. Lady at the front was abrasive, pushy and rude. Said, "honey" maybe 5 times, pushing us to order. We ended up walking out. Place was filthy. Do not go here.

The woman behind the counter was extremely rushed when my friend, her son & I walked in. She continued to try and rush us along, even though there was noone in line behind us. I was going to order a bagel, but her rudeness changed my mind. Because my friend offered to pay, I got a coffee. When my friend's son later went to buy a bottle of water, she looked at him, said nothing, and walked to the back. After my friend pointed out her mistake, she then made an ass if herself, by asking all the 6 other customers if they were alright. (As if my friend was in the wrong) This is all on top of the 3 times she went outside for a cigarette, then served customers only wearing one glove. I doubt she washed her hands, but I didn't watch her to know. All in all, I will never go back there, and don't recommend it to anyone.

This bagle place is a dream. They have such exceptional products, all home made and all around TASTY! It is a little bit pricey- but honestly worth it. I meant to take a pic of my cheddar and salsa bagle...but it dissapeared too quickly! When they have the dill pickle cream cheese - you will see me there every day. Love the Oshawa location and the friendly staff! This bagle place is WAY MORE THAN GREAT!

For the best bagels, the location in Ajax off Bayly is great AND the service is also good. In General, GCB is the best place to get fresh made bagels currently. Good flavour options as well

The best fresh soft bagels with the perfect crunchy exterior covered in a plentiful amount of toppings. You know it’s good when they almost sell out before closing each day. The staff are extremely personable and kind and add that extra bit of care while preparing your food. They also offer a large variety of flavoured cream cheeses prepared in house with the addition of seasonal flavours (like pumpkin spice in the fall).

BRILLIANT Resurrection. The previous owner was a poor choice of franchisee . They were ill equipped and did not know how business in Canada worked. Great Canadian Bagel Corp just took the money and left the quality to the wolves. But this new owner Will is his name is the right choice. They have a good operator there and let us hope that Great Canadian Bagel treats him well. If they don't they will lose him GREAT Selection Great Quality.. He was a bit short staffed but that happens... Go WILL you are running a good operation.

If I could rate it lower I would. Since new ownership, the woman who works the front is horrible. She is snippy and rude especially when you are deciding what you want to order, when you are the only ones in line. No customer service whatsoever. This used to be a great place with great staff, now it's become a dump.

Very pleasant lady patiently helped me with their plentiful choices and prepared my two breakfast sandwiches and dozen assorted bagels. Some of the best food I have ever eaten. When I was a kid, my favourite mornings before school were the ones when dad would get home from the midnight shift with a big paper bag full of Great Canadian Bagel. We ended up moving away from Oshawa but now that I live here again I am happy to come back and get these bagels again! And I can say that the quality isn't just a childhood memory, I went today for the first time since I was a kid. The service was friendly, the store is clean, and the bagels are top notch, a little crisp on the outside and pillow soft on the inside. Personal favourite of mine is the cheddar and herb, I got a full dozen and I'm excited to get through them so I can go back for more. Honestly, if you buy bagels at the grocery store, what are you doing with your life?

This is the place to go if you're looking for the freshest local bagels! The staff are very well trained and do a great job! I promise you will not be disappointed with this place, their bagels are worth every penny! My only recommendation would be to make a larger quantity of your specialty bagels (eg. cheddar bacon, cheddar salsa, etc), as I notice you sell out of these types very quickly, typically before noon, leaving some customers without the opportunity of trying them.

Not a word of a lie! These are the greatest bagels in Canada, or at least this little corner of Oshawa. Exceptionally friendly staff were welcoming and courteous. Had a superb jalapeno cheddar bagel breakfast sandwich while the kids had sesame seed and french toast, both with cream cheese. They sell them individually, by the half and full dozen. Take the time to stop and get yourself some mighty fine varieties of bagels.....remember it's pronounced bay-gels....don't call them bag-Els...cause that drives me NUTS!

The bagels are always good and the prices are better than Tim’s or McDonald’s. However, the staff is super unprofessional and you have to get there before 9:30 AM if you want any chance of getting a good flavour. I thought I’d check out the google reviews to see if maybe the lady at the counter just didn’t like ME, but it seems she doesn’t like anyone! All the reviews below mine couldn’t be more correct! She is rude, abrasive and doesn’t even listen to what you’re ordering, starts putting whatever she wants on your bagel then proceeds to get angry when you tell her she’s wrong. Today resulted in a verbal altercation with her because I had enough! Enough of her rudeness and making me feel like an inconvenience because I am ordering a bagel. It’s a BAGEL SHOP! She proceeded to tell me that “she could be my grandmother honey, it’s a respect thing”......how about taking your own advice and being nice to the customers!!! I told the owner that I would not return to their store because this is probably the 6th time I’ve had a bad experience with this lady....totally unacceptable behaviour. I don’t normally post reviews but this was an exception.

AMAZING BAGELS!! I ordered 2 dozen bagels for my work breakfast and they were delicious! Everyone in the office complimented the taste and wanted to know where I got them. Even though there was a miscommunication at the time of arrival about when I was picking up my order, the owner had everything I needed and even remembered what I had ordered, even though I placed it a week earlier! I was very impressed with the customer service and the bagels. They were fresh and warm and pleased everyone at breakfast! I would definitely recommend them and I will be coming back!

Used to love this place. The staff knew my order. Have not been for a couple months for one reason or another. Last two times been really disappointed. New staff everytime I go in. I had to wait so they could take care of online orders. Had to repeat what I wanted several times. Also the sausage patties are tiny compared to what they used to be. Also do not order mayo as they drown the whole sandwich. What a shame. Edit: Tried it again better then last time.

I live in the Kawartha Lakes but was running errands in the GTA. I had the privilege of stopping for lunch at the Simcoe Street Great Canadian Bagel where I was blown away by the food quality and service. The restaurant itself is very clean and the owner Will takes the time to chat with his customers. These were the best bagels I have ever had and I will be returning here on a regular basis. I highly recommend stopping by to check out this fantastic local bagel/coffee shop!

Everytime I go in the owner is working hard and ensuring his store is of top quality. Very kind and pleasant man. Never a frown upon his face. He is very dedicated to his business. I 100% support any business that has their manager working the front lines and back lines. I prefer to go here over Tim Hortons anyday as Tim Hortons has ridiculously raised their prices. I'll get out of my car just to get some breakfast here. You can get fresh made bagels here anytime of the day soft and delicious and also get them to take home and they stay fresh for days.... If you spend $3 dollars on one bagel at Tim Hortons then you should definitely take the time out of your day to try this place as the quality is 100x better. You can pick up a dozen for about 10 bucks I believe or get 8 with a tub of one of their yummy cream cheeses for around 12 before taxes. The other staff who work here are also great and super friendly. I'm glad this place has been put back into good hands and hope is stays for many years to come... It definitely lives up to its name.

DON'T EAT HERE!! No selection of bagels after 10 am even though there open till 5pm. Staff is rude an acts as though serving you is an inconvenience. Store is a run down dump... and the prices have become outrageously expensive for a bagel. A super bagel with cream cheese cost me more than $6. I am a huge GCB fan but i won't eat at this location again. I'm disappointed every time

The usual lady who works there always seems aggravated at customers and has poor awareness of food safety, or just doesn't care. There's never a decent selection of bagels. Only reason I gave 2 stars is because the franchise makes good bagels. I really hope they get new management here, I'm debating driving 20 minute out of my way to go to the other one because I won't go here any more.

Sorry, yeh I meant its been 3 years (hard to believe) since I visited, but I will be coming weekly now. It was so bad before that, I just got turned off by the experience. But you guys in the last 3 years have obviously build something to be proud of. Congrats and continued success.

The new owner has revived this place. He was a great choice for the franchise company. Hopefully they will support him, otherwise they will lose a good one. I have tried several of the products since the change of ownership. No comparison! Everything is fresh and tastes wonderful. The lineups at times should tell you something. Like all food service businesses, he has a problem getting good reliable staff that want to work. The people he has there now are very helpful, and they promote the business.

I love this place!! Whether you purchase bagels or one of their sandwiches, your guaranteed DELICIOUSNESS!!! My son is hooked. Not only is all their bagels amazing, so is their cream cheese that they make there. Can't buy a dozen bagels without 2 containers of cream cheese. Nothing but the best!! Best bagel place in town!! Once you buy them from there, you'll stop buying at the grocery stores. There is absolutely no comparison!! Awesome place!!

Asked for a double toasted bagel. It came completely black and hard. I had asked for a new bagel but they sold out of my flavour to the person behind me. Did not offer me money back in return for inedible food. Truly dissapointed considering I spent 16 dollars on two bagels. Worst experience I have ever had at Great Canadian Bagel. If you serve inedible food, you should at least offer the money back to the individual. In response to the owner's slightly naueve reply, I also find people who argue with a customers bad experience slightly tacky and unprofessional. You don't need to be defensive about bad reviews to do better. Your "perfect staff" actually was exceedingly rude to me while you qere busy with another customer. You were not aware of the way they spoke to me, rolled their eyes and did not take the opportunity to offer my money back. Your response to this review set in stone that there are plenty of other locations of such an amazing bagel chain, this is not the one to support. If you are rude and defensive to your upset clients, you will get bad reviews. Here is a lesson for you.

Terrible Service. Lady making the bagels gave me alot of attitude and didn't want to put on creamcheese when I had asked for it, had to repeat to her 3 times that i didnt want egg and cheese... Very disappointed with the amount of respect i was treated with. The lady taking my order asked me what Bagel I wanted, then ignored me because a friend of hers walked in. She proceeded to take her order of 6 bagels before returning back to my order. Terrible staff. Food was okay atleast.

Was far from my first choice but was closet location food available to me at the time. Bagel was great itself, was fun to see them being made while i waited 15mins for mine to be made, there was only one customer in front of me... other then that everything was microwaved aside from the toasted bagel.

Thanks guys! Came in today for my birthday month coupon, and not only was there a nice selection to choose from, but staff was friendly and prompt. I was greeted just after walking through the door with a happy sounding voice and eye contact. I’ve been here many times as I luckily live close, and it’s always been a nice experience. Coffee was barely warm... Peameal bacon sandwich was actually slices of friken sandwich meat! Said meat was microwaved. Needless to say it was disgusting. All this aside, the worst part was after handling my cash payment with her bare hands. She prepared the next persons bagel without washing. Never going to any location ever again
