Ok, since my grandmother died 25 years ago I have not had a more sublime butter tart since she's been gone. Well, the long wait and search is over! A thin pastry (the way it should be) where someone knows the right way to create the vessel to hold the right amount of buttery, gooey goodness in the perfectly flaky and begin to melt just as it touches your tongue, crust. Need I say more?! I think not. Do yourself a favour, get one, or 12.

The first time I had their buttertarts, I just kept saying, "Wow oh wow" over and over again. Sometimes you find a great-tasting one, but the pastry is too big, too crumbly, too blah. Then you find a good pastry, but the flavour or consistency is wrong. Wilkie's seems to have the best of both and that's sometimes rare. Go there and get some!

Some locals recommended this bakery to us. It’s right on the main street of Orillia. It’s a very small establishment. We went there mainly for the Chelsea buns and the butter tarts. The Chelsea buns were very good and the butter tarts some of the best we have had. Unlike other bakeries, we like that here they sell the Chelsea buns by the full order or by the half order. Also you can mix and match your order of the butter tarts. We also tried their oatmeal cookie stuffed with date and it was decadent. We liked the baked goods here better than the ones we had at Mariposa!!!

HAIR IN EVERYTHING! - My wife and I used to buy stuff here every week, until we started finding hair in multiple items purchased. We found both head and body hair on top and even baked into several items including the pizza, meat pies and pumpkin pie. I wanted to support this local business but they obviously have a major hygiene issue that needs to be addressed. If you eaten here, you've probably ingested their DNA.

What makes a sane man sit down at 1:41am to write a review for a bakery? Probably one who has had one of Wilkie's macaroons and raison butter tarts earlier and now can't stop thinking about them. So go. Go now. Stop what you're doing and go to Wilkies and order one of everything! Lol, kidding aside... very delicious, consistently good quality and great service. A local gem!

We have been coming here for years. Our favourites are the cheese bread and cookies, especially the oatmeal chocolate chip. If you're interested in trying the cheese bread, you won't regret it. The texture is perfect and they are generous with the cheese. Just know that it's not usually ready until mid-day. The staff are helpful and the variety of items is good.

The pecan and raisin butter tarts melt in your mouth. It's like doing a butter shooter. I'm stuck on sausage rolls now. Ther is a lot of delicious looking baked goodies in here. I'm glad I found this place.

We drive from Toronto to orillia and pre order their Chelsea buns, butter tarts and meat pies!! We’re so excited to have them across the street when we move to orillia later this year!!! BEST pizza . You can get a full slab 22 slices with three toppings for 20$ And the pizza is delicious. They do not cheap out on the cheese or the toppings . Perfect for feeding a family or friends The store is VERY clean 5/5 experience would recommend!

Visited them a couple of times. Their tarts and cinnamon rolls are really good. However, in my last visit, the person tending the counter used a napkin to pick up my cinnamon rolls and put them in a brown bag. I had no idea she used a napkin so I just drove home and 20 minutes later, found the napkin had fused itself to one of my cinnamon rolls. Devastating. I tried my best to peel off the napkin without it tearing but it was too far gone. The thinnest napkin pieces were stuck all over the icing and it was so hard to see if it was icing or napkin that I had to peel off most of the icing. Yes. I ate it, even at its worst. I have no shame... It was really good still... Unfortunately, I missed a piece of napkin so it's now stuck in my mouth and I have been spitting into the sink while writing this review. For what it's worth, I enjoyed their cinnamon rolls so much that I ate the napkin that came with it... But that's just me. It's not too sweet and it's not too cinnamon-y. Oh. And the people seem really nice too. Just make sure your cinnamon rolls don't come with a napkin!

Been a couple of times now. Purchased Chelsea Buns the first time , and having never had them before, I was amazed at how delicious they were. Visited again today and selected an Ontario Peach Pie, a Pumpkin Pie and two packages of cookies (Oatmeal, Chocolate Chip) and walked out for around $35. If today’s selections were as tasty as the Chelsea Buns from my initial visit, I am in for a treat. Thanks Wilkie’s!!!!

They claim to have Canada's best butter tarts and they were very good. Where they fell down was service. The cashier was quite unfriendly and charged us the individual price per tart when we asked for a combo box of 6 tarts, two of each flavour. Only $1.50 difference, but it seemed a bit cheap.

I have bought baked goods at Wilkie's for years and had no complaints. Today however I bought peanut butter cookies which left a chemical taste in my mouth and a burning sensation in the back of my throat followed by severe heartburn. When I phoned to ask what they put in the cookies I didn't get a chance to ask. They put me on hold for five minutes. I hung up to dial again and they weren't even answering ; it went immediately to voice mail over and over again even though they were still open. That is the reason I am leaving a poor review : the poor customer service. I threw the remaining cookies out and will still buy other products from them ; just not peanut butter cookies.

Very small place, buy don't let size fool you. Some of the best baked goods I've ever had. Often go out of my way to stop here when going up north from the city. Amazing butter tarts, the chealsea buns are fantastic. They also have meat pies, pizza, cookies and more. Also, very reasonably priced. I recommend everyone to go here if they have the chance to.
