As you know, we don't usually bother to give feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Bakery belongs to the category of Bakery.
Was really looking forward to visiting! Apparently they close down for a while over the holidays...
Without a doubt, the highlight at this good bakery is their carrot cake. -- "Mimi's Cake Tour"
Delicious and fresh
Been going to this bakery for 25 years. As incredible as I remember from childhood. If only they'd bring back the chocolate chip doughnuts
Great coffee and cinnamon bun
After reading some reviews I must admit we were rather disappointed. The tarts must surely be made with frozen shells or they are frozen for future use as they were hard not crumbly white not baked and zero taste and chewy. The tart inside was fine but the pastry made it difficult to give it a thumbs up. The baguette was not baked enough..very doughy like a parable not completed. The squares were very bland and the same problem with a couple other items with the pastry. It all tasted very fast food bland and we felt 40$ had been wasted. We will not be going back.
Mmmm mmmm good!
Amazing baked goods!
I always enjoy supporting local shops and this place has some wonderful baked goods. We’ve enjoyed many donuts, cookies, tarts, you name it and the people we’ve shared them with have always enjoyed them as well. The reason I’m not giving a 5 star review is for a particular reason of a lady behind the counter who was very sharp and rude in only ensuring so many customers were in the store at one time. It is very hard to see inside during the day so when I walked in, she quickly barked that a max of 2 were allowed in the store. I immediately went outside to wait (which was less than a minute) yet the experience was ruined as it could have been communicated in a much gentler way. I will continue to support them. I hope they understand that somethings aren’t done intentionally and are a genuine mistake. Continue making wonderful products and please be thankful for the customers who do come to support you.
This bakery is a pale shadow of what it one was. No pastries (I really really miss the amazing pastries!) anymore just a lot of squares, cupcakes and tarts that I’m really not sure aren’t shipped in frozen from elsewhere. Doughnuts are yeast donuts that are good but geared toward children with all the extras on top of them. Bread is terrible. Bread isn’t freshly made, the dough has been frozen and then baked. Very tough and the crumb is really dense. Not that tasty. Just a tourist spot now, unfortunately. I have to drive to the Burford bakery to get a real loaf of bread.
Wife and I normally buy a dozen donuts once a week here at Paris Bakery. We moved here to Paris ON from Mississauga. It’s shops like Paris Bakery and the baked goods that they produce that reaffirm our decision was the right one.
Nice little bakery. They make their croissants from scratch which is what brought me there. Staff was super friendly and they had a large selection of breads and pastries.
Great bakery!
Simply awesome!
Great selection!
Excellent selection of baked goods, great prices, great staff. The loaves of bread are huge
Lots of sweets to choose from. Friendly staff.
Great variety. Technically, all the items I had were baked well, with nice flakey turnovers, gourmet donuts & more, but I couldn't tell you if I was having a raspberry turnover or a cherry one, the majority of the flavor was simply sweet. Still, this place checks most of the boxes. One thing I'd come back for is their Leek & Parm lattice danish, it was really flavourful, the pastry was light and flaky This little bakery packs a punch with good coffee and their big selection though, it's unexpected.
Established since 1927 is a cute bakery on main down town area of quaint small town of Paris Ontario. Everything in this bakery looks so delectable.... old fashion cookies, brownies, a variety of butter tarts, and squares. Brought one of their specialty baked squares. Brown Cow $6 which is layered with a brownie bottom, cheesecake and topped with chocolate chip wafer. ONG so delicious!! Also bought one of each White Chocolate Macadamian, Oatmeal Raisin and Salty Caramel Chocolate Chip. Also yummy are the shortbread s
Great treats for very reasonable prices.
Amazing donuts. Highest quality products and friendly staff.
Great service by Julia and tasty pastry!
Owner/worker was rude to my two children and I. Stopped us from going in as there was a small line up of about 4 people in front of us and she said we can't serve you because we close in 15 mins. I told her my children only each wanted a sugar cookie and she informed me that I could come back tomorrow. I informed her that we were from out of town and she said" that's to bad." in a very snotty voice. What a unprofessional business owner.
Great selection
Fantastic baked goods!
(Translated) Excellent (Original) Excelente
Must be new owners. For years they had the best tasting baked goods but not now. Now it tastes commercially made with inferior ingredients. Speaking of commercial, read the return policy on their website. Is that a cut and paste from a hardware store? Original tags.....30 days......non shipping of flammable goods.....
Can you visit without admiring the gingerbread men. Iconic place.
I cannoli say good things about this sweet place.
Great find. Everything has a unique and delicious flavour. Tarts-amazing, cheesecake-fantastic, turnover-spectacular, gingerbread-great, hotdog buns-yummy, peach Square-good, donuts made in store with both regular and fancy flavours. Will return after a jog or two. ????
A delightful small town bakery: breads (including real sourdough), pastries, biscotti...
Fantastic donuts, bread and turnovers!
Selection is amazing! We bought a round of sticky buns and OMG we ate half of them in our parked car. Sticky deliciousness????. The donuts were fresh and delicious too (Maple bacon Wow!). We also bought a three layer square that was brownie, cheesecake, and chocolate chip cookie. It was so good! A bit of a wait due to covid restrictions, but well worth it. Service was super friendly. Will definitely be back next time we are in Paris!
Nice little shop. Lots of tasty treats to choose from. I had one of the Donuts and it was delicious.
Awesome baked goods and donuts to die for!
Went to the Paris Bakery yesterday but I clearly waited till too late in the day. All they had left was one donut (of course I bought it). I bought a few things and let me tell you it was all very delicious. The sourdough bread is to die for. I highly recommend Paris Bakery for all your baked goody cravings. BUT GET THERE EARLY as they sell out fast. Oh, and the service was amazing! Thanks Ladies, I will definitely be back! 10/10 Recommend.
Got a variety of this here. Butter tarts were very good! Not too sweet and very good consistency! Very fresh and the variety of squares we got were also good! I would definitely recommend this place!
Established in 1927, it’s an old bakery located in Paris downtown. The bakery has limited options but most of their items taste delicious. It’s reasonably priced. The coffees are also good, specially the cappuccino with cinnamon. You can try this place if you’re visiting Paris and looking for coffee
We were visiting Paris, ON from Toronto and saw a line up outside this bakery. We then joined the line up and chatted with a regular customer in line regarding what to order. Got back to Toronto and ate our goodies. OMG!! The butter tart was perfect ie The pastry and the filling. Will need to return one day soon!
Baked goods are excellent quality. Freshly baked. Lots of goodies to choose from!
Extremely friendly staff! Delicious cheese croissants & outstanding donuts! Can't wait to visit again!! :)
Good
Stopped in for the first time. It is like a candy store - so much to choose from - but I opted for the date squares. The date squares are inch-thick mounds of deliciousness, and not too sweet. The staff are friendly and helpful. I will be back!
There staff is amazing, very professional and friendly service! I was looking for tea I tried there Chai and it was amazing also great price.
Love visiting
Delish
Julia and her team are incredibly poised even when the line up is down the street. Must go and visit for a donut and more!
Good coffee
Pastries were baked to perfection. Fillings weren’t overly sweet, great puffs. Brightened our morning!
Delicious and friendly
Great hidden gem in the quaint little downtown of Paris. Always freash and tasty treats to be had, as well as regular staples such as bread, but you better come early as certain items tend to sell out fast. We are glad to see this Bakery return back to its "roots" from the previous style of more elite that they had experimented with, as prices are much more affordable now.
Best donuts hands down!
Very friendly staff, but most importantly the baked goods were amazingly good and delicious.
Must go place for baked goods
Paris Bakery is amazing - I ordered 50 cupcakes and they were able to do this turnaround next business day and they were so sweet they even delivered it down the street for me since I am out of town. They were professional, polite and very "sweet" as well :) Highly Recommend!
Taste like home ...
Fresh goodness
Love the Nanaimo bars - nice balance of sweet. Found the Chelsea buns a little dry. Can order online for pick up to make sure you don't miss out.
My wife asked for a tea and they didn't have any???
Delicious coffee and super yummy treats! And the ladies who run the bakery are dyn-o-mite
Wonderful array of products. Fabulous coffee
Such a cute bakery with wonderful people.. loved everything from there!
Delicious maple bacon donuts!
Stopped here for a coffee. Ended up leaving with a bacon cheddar biscuit and a s’mores donut as well. Everything was delicious and freshly made. Staff were excellent, patient and friendly. As I couldn’t make up my mind to what I wanted. My coworkers and I do deliveries to the Dominion Telegraph building down the street. We have been back since to the bakery and spent a small fortune. ????Thanks for the hospitality! ???? Stop by the Paris bakery if you’re in town! Worth the trip. ????
Nice shop, first time going. I added all the prices up in my head after leaving and what I paid makes no sense. I'm 99.9% sure I was over charged by at least $6. I probably won't go back, unless I can be refunded. When I got it home I took a picture to show what I did buy.
I ordered some brownies, lemon squares and a few doughnuts, all very good for reasonable prices.
Amazing place!!! Smells like heaven!!! And the food is spectular!!!! And the services is amazing!!!!
Incredibly friendly owner and staff. The intoxicating smell of freshly baked cinnamon buns drew us in from the sidewalk. As we were en route elsewhere for brunch, we took a mini quiche and an apple cinnamon fritter to go, which was thoroughly enjoyed much later that evening. A quaint, delightful family business on one of the most bucolic main streets in Ontario. There is even a small bench out front if you want to relax and enjoy your treat immediately. A definitive must visit while in Paris!
Bought empire cookies they were so hard, nearly broke my tooth. Not impressed.
Nicest people on the block. Amazing short bread and lemonade
DO NOT USE FOR PICKUP ORDERS! We placed an order for a single fruit pie, meant for a special occasion. Upon driving several towns over to Paris to pick it up, we were told our order was not made - and that we could not pick it up. We were not given any reason or even an apology, nor was there any attempt to resolve the problem. Use this business with caution!
I wanted to love this bakery, but honestly I was a bit disappointed with some of the things I bought, especially the peach pie. It was still warm when I bought it, amazing! I took it home, cut into it to discover there were 10, maybe 12 slices of peach at the most, mushy peaches at that, they have to be canned. The rest was filler...clear, gloppy jelly, so not appealing! Sourdough loaf was soooo sour, tasted almost salty. Got a couple varieties of squares, not bad, the cherry filling was a bit gummy, the cookies were ok. If I were to go again I would definitely re-think my selections and steer clear of the pie!
Same as always. Takes longer to get them gone then eat them !
Great place also they have best coffee in town ????????
Fantastic friendly service. She saved us on our bike ride with awesome coffee and tasty fresh baked to-die-for yummy stuff!!
Great breads, tarts and squares. It's worth the drive to Paris.
Warm buns, great products!
Very good bakes, bit pricey. Due to COVID19 only two people allowed inside (long line up)
Quaint little bakery, the treats we bought were all so good and the sandwiches were amazing! Staff was friendly enough
Great classic baked goods . Go for the donuts they are perfect as is
Ordered 5 dozen cookies and donuts for our wedding and eveyone loved them!
Friendly, helpful service. Delicious apple fritters!
A wonderful treasure for the town of Paris and area. Great selection and love the new items that pop up. The ladies who work there are friendly and give great suggestions!
Fresh baked goodness! I have been going to The Paris Bakery for 40+ years! There's nothing like it!!
Love it
Wonderful gourmet donuts. Maple bacon, and skor donuts were amazing.
A cute bakery in the centre of Paris. All the baked goods look so fresh. Best donut ever had. Interesting and great variety, unique ones like Kit Kat / maple bacon donut. Was hesitating to try but taste way better than I would imagine. All time favourite is spinach danish. Cookies are wonderful, soft and fresh. Would go every time visiting Paris.
(Translated) Yummmmy! (Original) Yummmmy!
amazing bakery.. try the chocolate danish!!
amazing bake good!
Excellent bakery.
The apple fritters are to die for!
(Translated) Come on !! (Original) Yuk!!
Amazing service as always
Worth the hype
Like the Wonka factory, only it's gluten and chocolate.
Excellent owners and bakers! 5 stars on service and quality of baked product. Definitely recommend to all!
The service is so friendly and the pastries are DELICIOUS! Plus they have almond milk for their lattes. Ugg, I just ate one of their apple turnovers and I want more..
Best butter tarts
Great variety here, and everything is so delicious. If you love gingerbread, then I definitely recommend their gingerbread... it’s perfectly ginger-y and chewy and they often “dress” up their gingerbread people super cute!
DO NOT SUPPORT ! I would have given a zero if it was an option. |The customer service was brutal. My children and i were waiting to go into the bakery outside in the freezing cold and opened the door to see the menu when we were yelled at to shut the door immediately . Then we were harassed by another customer for opening the door. I was going to be placing a large order and purchasing the cookies that they had available. was wanting to support local business in the area but this is one to LEAVE OFF THE LIST. Customer service is terrible !!!!
Visited the bakery may 1st 2021. Very disappointed with everything I bought. From the hard dry brownie to the Boston cream donut with almost no filling to the empire cookie dry and hard that had to be taken apart to even attempt to eat it I couldn't be more disappointed.Did I buy all the wrong things .At a loss for words, was it an off day .
Everything we have brought home from this cute little bakery has been delicious!! If you're wondering if its worth the trip to Paris , DO IT you won't regret it
Great treats
Came late in the day. Variety not the best.
No breads were ready
Last Sunday I stopped in for the first time this year on my way through town and couldn't have been happier with the experience. The bakery was well stocked with visually appealing treats and the woman who served me was so very polite. I shared my purchases with the family and everything was delicious. The date square is the best I've ever had and the butter tarts are my brother's favourite. We also enjoyed brownies, a pumpkin square, peach tea biscuits and doughnuts. I highly recommend this bakery.
Always an amazing and positive experience at the Paris Bakery! We get cakes from here for every occasion and people are always raving about them! Heres a cake Julia did for us today. Thanks so much Paris Bakery!
Nice selection!
Wow. As today is the Butter Tart Festival in Paris the Paris Bakery had an awesome array of all things butter tart to help celebrate the festive. The staff were super friendly and helpful with directions. Will definitely be back!!
Went there for the first time today for no reason other than to get out of the house. Everything looked so good I decided to get a tea biscuit (which is absolutely delicious and at least twice the size of any tea biscuit I have ever had)! I also got to meet Shannon, one of the owners, who was very friendly. Prices were great and selection is plentiful, I will definitely be back!
Best donuts I've ever had!
Always delicious and staff is friendly and helpful.
Hours make it hard to get in but yummy
I've always loved this bakery - wonderful memories of walking here as a young girl to get a cookie. The baked goods are just as delicious now as they are in my distant memories! They serve the best butter tarts I've ever tasted.
Staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable
The cookies and the coffee are the best start to a morning!!
My go-to place in Paris. Very friendly staff and good quality donuts and bread.
I can only comment on a few items. I really love their apple fritters and strawberry and cream cheese danishes. Both of those are excellent! Bought everything flavour New York style bagels for the first time yesterday and while I’ve never had a real one so I can compare, Paris Bakery’s bagels are absolutely delicious! Soft and chewy, I actually ate one fresh out of the bag which I never do. I’m rating them 5 stars because what I buy is fresh and amazing tasting but I would love to see more pastries. Seems to be a dying art at a lot of bakeries :(
With the free delivery to Brantford on Fridays we don't have much reason to go into the actual bakery. We did today and the staff was super friendly and the donuts were amazing!
I traveled to Paris for the day with 2 of my girlfriend's and we waited in line so we can buy something. The store allowed only 2 people inside, there were 3 of us but we all travelled together. They told us only 2 people at a time only. Okay, one of us went outside. The lady inside told me to fix my mask. NONE OF THE WORKERS WERE WEARING ANY MASKS. they're claim because they had plexiglass is they do not require masks. They are breathing on the products they are selling. Everyone should be wearing masks as per ministry of health regulations. They asks us to leave because I told tell they should be wearing masks. Absolutely absurd. You'd think a small business would take extra precautions to remain open during this questionable time.
This place was wonderfully decorated and the staff were very quick, attentive, and friendly. I ordered my lady some of their gourmet specialty donuts which I know she will love. I did not understand that, when I showed up at 2:00, there was a lineup and every person that went in there seemed like they took 5 to 10 minutes doing whatever they were doing. I was in and out in less than 30 seconds. It's like trying to cross the border into the United States; you curse and swear at every person in front of you and wonder why they're taking so long and then when you get to the front of the line, it takes 10 seconds and boom you're right through, lol. I guess I'm one of those smart guys that planned ahead for Valentine's Day, hahaha! Either way, the treats look delicious and I'm sure they're going to wow an impressor beyond belief. Thanks for the great work and I'll definitely be coming back.
I grew up with the Paris Bakery for 40 years. Different bread, rolls and Germans who knew how to bake perfection. wonderful selection of pies, streudels, cookies, not to mention their to die for home cooked yeast donuts. BEST bread in town. The new owners cater to tourists now and not very many locals go i anymore and the store used to be packed. homemade quality was what kept their business thriving. Now it's just a tourist trap where they only make cupcakes and squares. Let me warn you the squares -ALL OF THEM- just taste like sweet with no distinctive flavor at all. Cupcakes are cupcakes right? same old flavor-boring.I bought carrot cake hoping it would be chock full of goodies but it's nothing more than a spice cake with icing. EVERYTHING tastes the same. Shame on you for catering to tourists and not those of us who helped build this business over the last 50 years. YOU DON'T know how to bake anything but squares and cupcakes and they're not tasty. I may as well pour sugar down my throat! Trust me, I've steered a lot of people clear by buying "treats" they can taste. Hire a German to show you how to actually bake! My niece can make better desserts in her Betty Crocker oven with a light bulb. You'd better start adapting to what the locals want or you won't last very long. This is ffod fit for children as an occasional snck
Great backery. Friendly staff.
