The first time I visited the bakery, Rosemary greeted me like a long lost friend. I was even more surprised how pleasant and very helpful she was with choosing the breads, buns and pastries. Absolutely fresh and delicious especially the apple turnovers! Next time, I'll purchase the puff pastry dough.

Unique fresh baked products. Danish's run out quickly so you have to be there early in the day. Good assortment of bread from plain to multigrain. Coconut cookies are great. The seven grain baguettes are very good too. Great value for the quality and taste of the products. The picture shows the apple pie ($5.50), 7 grain sliced bread loaf ($3.75 for large), large sesame seed bagel and plain bagel ($0.50 each), pretzels ($0.95).

By far my favorite bakery. It always smells SO good. It's located on an industrial road so it doesn't look like your regular storefront but don't let that stop you... you'll regret not going here. Since forever, my family - Baba, then Dad and now me - have visited Montmartre for raisin bread every Christmas. It isn't the holidays without it. No matter where we live or how hard it is to get out to Scarborough, we do. It's totally worth it. The raisin bread is delicious (I suggest trying it with a little cheese whiz - weird but a family favorite). The Danishes, cookies, bread and stoll are all well worthwhile... basically everything there is. Rosemary is one of my favorite ladies, met her this year and she handled my order. She's so friendly and wonderful. Honestly, you can't go wrong here. Order it all!!

Hard to rate this place. Their products are delicious. Fresh and skillfully made. But the two old ladies who run the cash are the grumpiest you'll ever meet. They have no interest in helping or pleasing the customers. They argue against suggestions and requests. And you have to bring your own bags. They have none there.

Our family has been a loyal customer for years & we have always had a pleasant experience & never humiliated by any of the staff members but now they have a staff member (ROSEMARY) who is absolutely unpleasant. She has no respect for cultures nor has any etiquette on how to speak to customers. Don't be fooled by recent reviews about her... SHE IS NOT AT ALL welcoming & due to her presence, my family and I have chosen to no longer shop at this location.

I love this place! You'd never find it if you didn't know where to look, on a side street in the industrial part of Scarborough. And it ain't much to look at on the inside either. But OMG the bread! And the buns! And the pies and pastries and cookies and bagels...you can even buy fresh yeast and puff pastry there! The prices are reasonable, and everything appears to be made onsite. If you can get there during their limited business hours, I'd recommend clearing out your vehicle trunk and chest freezer, and buying a bunch of the tastiest bread products you have ever eaten.♡♡♡♡

The pastries and pies are extremely delicious, but what’s really lacking here is the customer service. The woman taking my order and checking me out was giving me a lot of attitude, as if I was in some way inconveniencing her by ordering food from the bakery, and spending money there. I was also very disappointed by their packaging of danishes, as most of the filling ended up on the inside of the paper bag. Despite having great treats, I don’t think I’ll be returning, or recommending any of my friends to go either - nobody should have to feel terrible just to get a delicious pastry.

The pretzels were great, the baguettes are basically just soft Italian bread, and the peach pie crust had so much vanilla in it that it tasted like whipped cream (for me that's way too much. Prices are decent but the quality isn't on par with Dimpfelmeier's in Etobicoke.

Truly an amazing bakery! Customer service is always great, Rosemary helped me a couple times. She’s so positive and funny! Their peach pie is to die for, their cookies are soft, and their apple turnovers, best I’ve ever had. This is a must try, must buy, “start the car we’re going now“ type of situation!! I visited for the second time and I was pleased with the overall service. I had a question about nut allergies and ROSEMARY was extremely helpful in finding out from the head baker if my kids could have the baked goods. She went above and beyond to make sure all my questions were answered all while helping other customers. The pies are the best I've ever had. So fresh and very few natural ingredients (and not too sweet which i like). The Danishes are super moist and the strudel is light and flakey. They are a must try if you visit. Overall a great bakery with great customer service.

What an absolute display of HORRIBLE customer service by the lady at the entrance (Rosemary). Her vulgarity & unprofessionalism towards customers is unlike anything I've ever seen. I go there EVERY Friday & today was the last one ever!!! I sincerely hope that she gets FIRED at some point for her attitude towards the customers and even her own co-workers. Her co-worker also expressed how Rosemary is very rude and unappreciative of guests visiting the bakery!!! #Fire #Rosemary

Whenever I'm lazy and need to get something up for a party, I always make my way to Montmartre Bakery to pick up their strudels since it's always a hit. Everything here is made fresh daily and since it's a wholesaler, the prices are incredibly cheap. Strudels come in flavours like apple ($5.50), cherry ($6.10) and blueberry ($6.50) and are TWO FEET LONG!!! I usually choose to get half a strudel (for half the price of course) so I can get more than one flavour. The strudels are nice and flakey and I'll usually get it topped off with icing sugar if I'm heading straight to the party afterwards. This time I got the cherry and blueberry strudels. The cherry has a nice tart flavour and the blueberry is packed with tonnes of fresh blueberries and jam. Show up with these babies and you'll be bound to be asked where these magical pastries came from. I would also recommend grabbing a few apple turnovers (only $1) if you're there! They are divine. The pastry is light and flakey and packed with thick pieces of warm, tender spiced apples in the filling. And best of all, the top of the turnover is sprinkled with coarse cinnamon sugar giving it a delicious crunch. The fresh pretzels are also a good option at 95¢ each, I usually pick up at least 3-4... Soft & chewy with just the right amount of kosher salt. I'll be honest, it was a bit of a carb overload but every bite was absolutely delicious. Danish are a steal at $1.00 each - they are HUGE. Made fresh daily, the pastry is light and flaky and drizzled with icing. The blueberry danish had a bold flavour and I love that you can even pick out little pieces of fresh blueberries in the fruit filling. The apricot custard was my favourite though. There was a pretty large piece of apricot wrapped in the pastry and the creamy custard really brought the fruit and pastry together well. Be forwarned that this is not a fancy bakery where you can sit down and eat - definitely takeout only. And I would also recommend to go early as almost all the shelves will be cleared out if you go during the last hour of operation.

I am worried that if I give a great review... there will be a huge increase in the number of patrons and the lines will increase and they will run out of the most amazing baked goods. STAY AWAY... THEY are TOO good. The Strudel is so flaky I made a mess all over my floor in the kitchen. The baguette was so fluffy and the crust was so good I didn't even want to put butter on it. It's been a long time since I tasted real good baking (since the real open window bakery shut down). Please, don't share this with too many people.

One of my all time favourite bakery! The staff is amazing especially Rosemary! She always goes above and beyond to get everything you need. Just a beautiful and kind soul! I needed puff pastry dough and missioned all the way down from whitby. Unfortunately they were all out and Rosemary being her wonderful self was able to arrange the dough for me within 30 mins saving me time and disappointment from letting everyone know i wouldn’t be able to make pastries for our cottage trip this weekend. I would have taken a picture of the strudel we bought but we ate it too quickly. It was delicious and fresh and still warm. Pretzels were delicious and soft inside (ate that too fast too). I also bought a loaf of rye bread, we’ll see how that goes but based on the strudel and the pretzel, I already know I’ll be back. This place is great. The staff were helpful and friendly too.

I have been gifted several different flavors of strudel from Montmartre over the year and they were all delicious!! My friends bought me an apple pie from this bakery and it’s honestly the best pie I’ve ever had. We couldn’t finish it all in one day so we kept it in the fridge and even third day pie was incredible. The apples were so sweet but still had crispness in them and weren’t mushy. I added some vanilla ice cream to it and was speechless at how amazing they complimented each other.

Last winter an elderly lady was struggling down the stairs when leaving. Rosemary came quickly to help her and walked her to her car, without a coat and it was pretty cold! Very impressed by how this bakery has responded to Covid 19. They very quickly changed from self serve to full serve with plexi-glass partitions ---have a staff member there 2 out of the 3 times I've been in lately, to help and ensure that only so many are allowed in at one time and kept distanced ---- debit machine is cleaned between each transaction. I think they are doing a great job to protect their family business and their customers. Apple strudel has always been our fav and keeps us returning for more.

Rosemary kindly greets me everytime she sees me and is very welcoming. She also promptly gathers the items I request. I rate this establishment 4/5 stars because sometimes the clerk incorrectly gets the bill wrong and overcharges. I recommend to double check the bill.

A week ago, I was disappointed to find that the danishes were almost completely sold out at the time I got there. Luckily, a VERY helpful person named Rosemary was behind the counter. She asked me to wait a bit so that she can find out when the next batch would be ready. She came back and said that unfortunately, it would be a couple of hours so I would have to come back. She said she would get my order ready and I wouldn't have to wait in line. I was very happy to hear this and didn't mind coming back. The order was ready at the time she gave me and I am so grateful to have met Rosemary. She is friendly, personable and efficient and Montmartre is lucky she is working with them!

Ordered a quantity of rice products from this bakery, when I showed up to pick it up none of my rice products were even baked, even got lectured by the front desk staff that i should have called instead of placing my order online as I had been doing for months! I will certainly not be placing any more orders at this place.

Fresh baked goods at a great price. This place is fantastic. Pies are amazing and bread is amazing. I have never bought a bad thing from here. You will taste the freshness compared to grocery store bought pies.

Wide selection of breads, a bit pricy but well worth it. No public washroom and not wheelchair or walker friendly. Not enough parking so bring someone who can wait on the road. Very busy Saturday's. Not open Sunday or Monday.

My husband brought danishes from this bakery today. They were the best I ever had!!! The filling was not sticky or too sweet as it typically is in other danishes, it was very delicate. Danishes were extremely fresh so to stop at just one was impossible. I definately recommend this place!!!

Lots of bread, some pastries, and a few cookie choices. The prices are very reasonable; half the strudel was only about $3 but the size is huge. The taste, though, is only OK. I wish they also had more selection for pastry so I could try more things. The cashiers are very nice. Parking is not too difficult with a few spaces in the back.

I use to buy all the time from this small bakery because I like to support small businesses. When I went today to buy my bread the lady who world there advised me to wear a mask, since I have a medical exemption I do not have to wear a mask and it is harmful for me! She than told me to wait outside. I think that this is absolutly discriminating towards people with a medical condition. Why am I not allowed to buy my bread? The owner of the store was very rude to me and said that I should not even go out if I have a medical condition!? I thought this is Canada, where are we living? Also If people are wearing mask to protect from viruses why are they concerned about being infected thru someone without a mask ? İt doesnt ad up. I will not return to this store and would not recommend it for ppl who cannot wear a mask!

Lovely bakery with lots of variety. I am still concerned about customers touching bread and not buy what they touch. (Especially baguettes). I saw an employee cleaning the pastry shelves one day. She cleaned the top ones first, so all droppings went to the lower shelf directly on the pastries. Great sanitary concern.

This place has the magic. Breads, sweets, cakes, croissants. All delicious and fluffy. If you go too late in the day a lot of stuff is sold out. So get there early. I get off work at 12 on Fridays, and make it my business to pick some treats up. A+.

Was looking for Peach pie on Google, and found this bakery. Went in on a Saturday, bought a peach pie, apple and a blueberry strudel no icing, pretzel, and blueberry wholewheat muffin. The peach pie was excellent! The best i have tasted so far. Not too sweet and used whole wheat crust. Blueberry strudel was amazing. The apple strudel was just ok. The blueberry muffin pretty good. The pretzel was chewy but was pretty good. Also got a french baguette and blueberry pie but didn’t try yet. I’m sure it will be pretty good. The place was busy, it’s somewhat small, parking is available at the back of the store. Lots of different bread variety. Will come back again, especially for that peach pie!!

This bakery is amazing. They have good fresh products and I would recommend thier products to anyone who would like to eat fresh bread. I love their cherries ???? strudel. Really recommend strudel, almonds cake, buns, pretzels. Beside bread and other goodies, you can purchase fresh dough if you are into cooking. The single point that I dislike, is that they are stoping production on Saturday morning and the store is almost empty by lunch time. Shopping earlier means that you have to stay in 5-10 minutes in line, as it is very busy Saturday mornings.

Fantastic bakery I’m a seeker of bakeries and I also try to stop at all the bakeries I pass. Very few spark real joy. This one did. We bought cherry strudel - my husband considers himself a connoisseur and declared it flaky and delicious. I also bought raisin bread, cherry danish and apple danish. All of it is delicious and I thought, relatively inexpensive as well. I was hoping for a honey almond cake but the last one went to the woman in front of me. That means that I will have to go back and make sure to get there earlier next time. That won’t be a hardship.

Love having croissants and coffee on a Saturday morning. Friendly staff. I have enjoyed their breads, pies and croissants. Bought croissants for the girls at work and they loved it saying the best they ever had. My daughter had the Clafoutis cake for her birthday and it was wonderful. You think you are going to have a sweet chocolate overload but it was well balanced and delicious.

Everything I have tried here has been great - the bread, the pretzels, the croissants and danishes. I have tried the strudel and it would be hard to have leftovers! This Easter I tried the hot crossed buns - fresh from the oven! I had to wait for them to cool so they could be boxed and they were even brought out to the car!! Everyone is friendly and helpful, but I find Rosemary always makes an extra effort. Great customer service!

Croissants are amazing! Apple pie a bit too sweet and the filing a bit too runny. Apricot custard danish very sweet as well. The sourdough bread and 7-grain breads are really good. I would go back as prices are extremely reasonable, selection of items great and customer service is excellent.
