Personally I’m a brownie fan and her brownies are to die for. My friends who have had her butter tarts say they are the best as they have tried other butter tarts before. It is a treat you do not want to miss out on. The quality is excellent as everything is made by hand and with quality ingredients that are locally sourced where possible. Delivery is fast and the business has heart. Love Carla’s treats!

So awesome. Saw them at the OOAK craft show (they were part of the reason I wanted to go there this year). Experienced their butter tarts at home. It was a hit with everyone (all ages). They are really rich, decadent. I cut them into halves, and offered everyone a half for dessert. We will have the other half tonight. They were all happy and I overheard my daughter asking her friend if these were the best buttertarts that she's ever had. The answer was yes. The people at the show were so kind and friendly, too. These butter tarts were the best I've had. I will definitely be ordering here again and telling my friends and family about it. The ONLY reason I didn't give 5/5 is because of the presentation. I bought some as a gift and the packaging looks no different than if you bought them in a store. I feel this would be the only downside to gifting these. I even wrote in the comments that they were a gift, so if there's some option to make them look nice, I'd like that. I think nicer packaging or even some bows or something would make these more giftable. That's really my only beef here. Everything else was perfect and I can't wait to order them again. Compared to the picture, and the reviews that I had read, this was actually a gift from my husband that I was going to give him after having made a really nice dinner. Having said that the presentation was in a pizza box and they were all messed up somewhere broken, I ended up taking it to a friends the next day and just giving it to kids. I was actually told about this place by a friend but I can honestly say I was impressed the quality was not there for me I could’ve just walked down the street to one of the bakeries here but I was trying to support local businesses

After having a chance to try one of Carla's cookie's, I decided to place a large corporate order (400+) of cookie decorating kits that involved nationwide shipping for the 2021 holiday season. Upon reaching out to Carla, she was very thorough in helping me choose the right option for my order, stayed within my budget, and ensured me that my order would hand delivered to each recipient that it was intended for. Additionally, she helped me customize the design of the cookie box. Carla and her team were so efficient and ensured every cookie was baked with care. My family is very picky about our butter tarts and we were all pleasantly surprised to find out these ones checked all the boxes! The tart crusts were flaky in just the right way and melted in your mouth. The classic butter tart filling is sweet and plentiful, perfectly set. But the added flavours are where it is at! From caramels to nuts to chocolate, each special flavour was a masterpiece that made these butter tarts a must buy! Loved each one and as a bonus they freeze well, so we were able to freeze a pack to have in a few weeks. Definitely looking forward to buying these tarts again!

This is the first time we ordered from here and got 12 full sized tarts and 12 mini tarts and they were great. Personally we enjoyed the regular sized tarts more as the crust on the mini tarts were on the harder side but the regular sized ones were flakey buttery and the right texture.

My husband was opposed to having anything but traditional style until our last order when he tried a couple of the different flavours and now is sold on all flavours! In that order we tried the brownies as well. I am a die hard chocolate lover and am very particular about my chocolate and only enjoy the very best. The brownies were unbelievable (in particular the Turtle Brownies)! We have ordered the 3 month butter tart subscription as a gift for the hard to buy for a few times and it has been a winning gift. We also have a friend who has Celiac and we sent him the gluten free products and he was blown away by them. I'm really sorry to say this but I have to be honest. The buttertarts we bought were absolutely awful. There wasn't one good thing about them. They are salty and kind of sour??Texture is weird and pastry is thin and not flaky, some were overbaked and some were under, and they were soggy and greasy on the bottom. I will eat almost anything but I had to throw mine out. Worst 15 bucks I've spent.

We ordered their Smash Heart package and absolutely loved everything in it! What a wonderful surprise for the family - beautiful presentation, the chocolate butter tart is to die for, and the huge Smash Heart was gorgeous, made of delicious chocolate with a raspberry chocolate drizzle - you could taste the berry in the chocolate! Can't say enough great things about these tarts and this lovely lady! Carla puts her heart and soul into her creations, and they really are delicious! She uses local products and even the crusts of her butter tarts are buttery and delish! My favourites are definitely the peanut butter and the Nutella...but she has so many great ones to choose from! I love the tarts so much that I haven't tried the cookies or brownies yet, but they are next on my list. To top it all off, she's super sweet. After running out of ideas for activities to do during stringent COVID guidelines, I decided to try Carla's DIY - Decorate Halloween Cookies - Shortbread. These were amazing! The shortbread was perfectly baked and tasted incredible! The kit came with an assortment of icing, sprinkles as well as a little note for tips around storing the cookies. The icing and the sprinkles elevated an already glorious shortbread cookie. Definitely an in-door Halloween favourite - plus, it's supporting a local business! Carla and family are the best, i miss the days of food markets down near RBC downtown Toronto. Always the best tarts, fresh and awesome tasting! Would recomment the 6 tarts trays so you can try all the flavours!! Will have to order some soon

Love love love Carlas butter tarts. I first had them at the beaches arts and craft sale and from that moment I was hooked. They are beyond delicious. So much so, that whenever there is an event in Toronto that Carla is attending I too will be there. They are my several times a year treat. And the fact that they freeze awesome makes it even better. I would and do recommend them to everyone. They are worth the trip to wherever Carla’s Cookie Box is scheduled to be. And you can order them online as well. We ordered 6 variety of tarts, & 6 gluten-free tarts. Both of my children have had to change to a gluten free diet due to health issues in the past year. They loved their variety of gluten free tarts . They said it tasted as good as regular tarts tasted prior to their health change. The regular variety of tarts we ordered were excellent. They were huge, full and delicious. Flavors we tried were nutella, pecan, and regular - all fantastic. I will gladly order again.

This was the first time I ordered from Carla’s. I was was a bit hesitate how the order would arrive as I will in Ottawa. First of all it came the next day and it was well packaged. The cookies and tarts were perfect. I come from a family that knows their butter tarts and these tarts are fabulous. Thick luscious filling , tender crust. The cookies are tasty too. I have been a client of Carla's for over 3 years now. She makes THE BEST butter tarts I have ever eaten!! They are filled with ooy gooy maple syrup that makes every bite dripping with goodness :) My favorite is the traditional plain, but if I am really feeling my self ill get the toffee chocolate chip !! You can not go wrong with any of her products, they are all super fresh and you have the option to freeze the tray for freshness if you cant finish them all in one sitting. These are literally the best cookies I’ve ever had. They are so soft, not overwhelmingly sweet and are a great size for sharing or enjoying all on your own. I tried the Nutella, chocolate chip, turtles and Oreo flavours. I also got the tarts but didn’t get to try them as they were a gift but from what I hear that are outstanding!! Can’t wait to order again

Keep reading, try them. You, too will find iur By accident, i found her in Burlington. But in Paris, Carla reserved her extraordinary buttertarts until I arrived. Lucky for me! When in hercarea, i decided to get some but she was closed. I gambled and called. Who would go out of her way to accommodate? Carla did. Absolutely love love loved my whole experience with Carla! Butter tarts are a 10/10! I got the 3 month butter tart subscription for my boyfriends birthday instead of a cake b/c he hates cake and LOVES butter tarts. We got the pecan, cherry cheesecake, and originally apple pie, but unfortunately at the third month there were none left for the apple pie and Carla emailed well in advance letting me know, and picking another flavour! Overall 10/10! Butter tarts were a large size and soooo gooey! Delicious!

The fudge Brownies are amazing. Seriously. They're huge & they weigh a ton...I should too since I ate a box of them but somehow my clothes still fit. :) I received a subscription for my birthday and when I got the delivery I (hilariously) thought I'd never be able to finish them. I ordered the mixed box of butter tarts, brownies and cookies for all our team members for our virtual Christmas lunch and I never heard so many F-bombs dropped as people took bites of the butter tarts and brownies. The butter tarts were amazing at room temperature but there was a line saying warm them up and they were even better, although I did not think that was even possible. Not only does Carla make the best cookies and butter tarts but she’s also the sweetest! I have celiac and haven’t had a butter tart for nearly a decade and it was beyond delicious!
