Erin did an amazing job with our wedding cake and cupcakes for our big day! With COVID there were so many changes to accommodate, and she was friendly and receptive throughout. We ordered the vegan chocolate cake and it was absolutely beautiful and so delicious! Many of our friends (who are not vegan) also loved it! I would highly recommend the sweetest thing for any cake needs. I'm just waiting for another occasion to get a cake from them! :)

So disappointing and the height of greediness. Picked up by grandsons 1st birthday cake today and unfortunately will be going into the garbage. We were going to celebrate his birthday today but we had to cancel because he got sick and couldn’t make the trip from Ottawa. We called and asked if we could reschedule the cake (not cancel and paid for)but we were flatly refused and told they were making the cake anyway. We had no choice and were forced to pick it up. What a waste as they did a great job.

Cute little bakery located in Kerr Village, they made an amazing Tik Tok cake for my daughter birthday and the attention to detail was wonderful. The service is always great, and their treats are tasty! My personal faves: Crispy Chewie cookie, the Oatmeal coconut cookie, and their Apple crumble bar! My grandmother LOVES their key lime pie too!

Ordered personalized sugar cookies online and some decorate your own gingerbread cookies. Very nice presentation wrapped in cellophane, details on the cookies were perfect! They even surprised me by delivering them direct, so I didn't even go to the store to pick up! Great local bakery! Would definitely order again!

Not only are their baked goods incredibly delicious, but the service here is BEYOND amazing. We were given samples, told all about the different goodies and their ingredients, and asked to hang out for five more minutes so we could get a fresh-out-of-the-oven batch of chocolate chip cookies. I purchased their lemon loaves (SO moist and naturally sweet), six of their cookies (fresh out of the oven), and a seasonal spruce candle. Unfortunately, when I got back to my home in a town over from the shop, I realized I hadn’t grabbed my candle! I called them back to ask if it was there… and was asked for my address so they could drop my candle off on their delivery route later on! I don’t usually leave reviews, but I was so blown away by the quality of both the goods and the service here that I couldn’t resist. Please go give this wonderful bakery your business, you will be glad you did!!

Woooooow! I was driving around with a friend on Easter Sunday looking for an open place on Kerr street and there it was. I’ve always wanted to try it based on recommendations and reviews. Where do I start? I tried a few items and here’s my feedback. Chocolate chip, pecan coconut and oatmeal raisin cookie were all amazing....not sure which was the best out of all three. I also tried the apple crumble bar ????????????????#no_comment Of course, no dessert session is complete without a fresh brewed Americano. Very good coffee ???? I must also admit that I actually passed by to pick up a second round. In addition to the cookies and bars, i got a carrot cup cake. Sane amazing feedback. Maybe i should do a dozen of each next time ???? And finally, the two ladies working there could not have done a better job. Thank u! See you soon “The Sweetest Thing!” ????

If you're looking for a cute bakery with tasty treats this is the place for you. I've been popping in since they first opened up this past summer (2018) and grabbing a vegan treat or two. They aren't specifically a vegan bakery but they always have 1 or 2 treats to accommodate my diet. The owner Erin is a wonderful, friendly person who happens to make the tasty treats ever (if you love oatmeal chocolate chip cookies you NEED to try her vegan & gluten free ones.. they are legit the best cookie I've ever eaten). Most recently she created a custom all vegan birthday cake for my 40th birthday and it was amazing. I just told her my theme, the number or people and she created such a fun cake that was so good myself and my party guests couldn't deny themselves a second slice. I can not recommend The Sweetest Thing enough. If you're in Oakville or passing through please stop in and try a treat your taste buds and tummy with thank you.

The owners of this bakery are so kind and leave you feeling good to support a local shop run by a couple... and the goodies are the best way to thank yourself for supporting them! They bake fresh goodies constantly and have found a perfect balance between favourites like chocolate chip cookies and brownies alongside some less familiar options that give some variety and excitement for those who really like to traverse the dessert table. They also offer a variety of drinks to compliment your treat whether you take it to go or sit in house for a short break. They will take custom orders and make cakes too. Getting a box of mixed treats to bring over for dinner is always a great option too. *warning- due to popular demand I would suggest calling an order in ahead of time should you want a large volume or want to be specific about what goes in your box. They can get cleaned out of a lot closer to the end of the day. I don't mind this because it means they aren't wasting a lot of leftovers because everything is made and sold fresh. If you want sweet, go to The Sweetest Thing! You won't regret it... unless you're dieting. Then you likely will regret it because you're going to go back and have more.

I LOVED EACH SWEET TREAT - THEY WERE ALL SO DELICIOUS. I had a skor cookie, chocolate chewy bar, the mini lemon loaf, and a vegan lemon drop. The baked goods are really great here. It's refreshing to find a pastry shop with a great balance of flavours, where each dessert is considered individually to make the best version of itself, and doesn't rely on being cloyingly sweet. The lemon curd bars have a lovely short crust on the bottom and the curd has a lovely tang. The blueberry scones are a true comfort with a cup of tea. This shop is new, at present, but I've already begun making a weekly pilgrimage here. There has been a lot of thought and consideration put into this beautiful little shop. The shop itself has a fresh, clean look with a pleasant colour palette and light that floods in from the large front windows, making a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy your treat. The staff are knowledgable, pleasant and prompt. I hope this shop becomes a staple of downtown Oakville for years to come.

Ok! We came here 2 days in a row!!! The goodies are amazing...the cookies (gotta try the chocochip crunch in a chocolate chip cookie!!) the vegan cookie is great! Their brownie...let me tell you! The brownie is so YUM, my Hubby ate some! (Not the norm.) Soft serve ice cream is thick and creamy and doesn’t taste super milky. Pairs great with an espresso shot. Oh! By the way...their choice in coffee beans are really good. The customer service is pleasant, happy to serve and communicate information about menu items well. The place is so pretty. It’s clean and comfortable and well set up. Definitely the best ice cream in Oakville!! Check out their lovely cakes also!

I shouldn’t have left birthday cupcakes to the DAY OF but I did. After a quick Google and perusing of reviews I had a good feeling The Sweetest Thing would be my solution. WOW! Their cupcakes are both gorgeous and DELICIOUS! Fresh, moist and scrumptious with icing that was perfectly sweetened. I actually don’t like icing as it’s often too sugary, but their buttercream was heavenly. Their shop smelled better than any words I could attempt to describe it with. It was immaculate and their staff incredibly kind and helpful. I highly recommend their baked goods for your next event big or small! I will be back in May for our other daughter’s birthday. Thanks for the Americano too. The experience made my day.

Cute place. Great cupcakes. They also had a gluten free cupcake option made with almond flour. Loved that. I went in around noon on a weekday. It was not busy but thank goodness for that. Sweet Treats, Sour Owner! I came to buy some cookies/ cupcakes despite how pricey these treats are. When I walked into the shop I was surprised at how unfriendly the owner was and didn't receive any greeting from her. I was lucky to be assisted by friendly staff, while cashing out I could see and HEAR the owner reprimanding a young staff member behind the counter. I felt terrible for this person experiencing this publicly behind the counter for the co-workers and customers to hear!

After having heard about The Sweetest Thing from my daughter and Vi over at the Yellow Door Studio, I had to go and check out the bakery. What a refreshening experience when you walk in the door. Bakers happy to great you and the smiles on kids faces to go and check out the sprinkle wall. Erin and her team have done a fantastic job. The cookies and cupcakes are so delicious I was so very happy that she made the time to bake for our Connect with Dan Cooper Event I hosted last week! Excited to see my daughters' engagement party cake this weekend and also to send baked goods to my clients throughout the year!

I absolutely love this dainty little bakery. We are a very picky family and don't eat grocery store bought sugary treats. It has been very hard to find a bakery that just 'sticks' with us. Last week I ordered a sugar floral ombre cake for my husband's birthday and it was so delicious. My husband and the kids just devoured it. Staff is always super friendly including the owner. I really am surprised to read some of the negative reviews. I come to this bakery all the way from Milton every few days to pick-up cookies and I have never had a problem with anyone, and their treats tastes so good. I don't mind paying more for quality. Everything here is AMAZING! I consider myself a cookie/cake aficionado and have been on a lifetime hunt for the best baked goods in all of my travels around the world. This is the bakery that I wish I had found years ago. Items are home-made, but not "gimmicky" or overly sweet. There is a changing assortment of items with great combinations of flavours and textures. I would buy a box of goodie, bring them home, and within hours, everything would be devoured. If you are in the area, lucky you, pick up something delicious. If you aren't in the area, it's worth the drive!

Delicious cupcakes, however will not be returning because of the service. My mom ordered for my bridal shower and received amazing service and incredible cupcakes, I ordered for my wedding and was very disappointed - the woman on the phone was rude and unprofessional and when I explained what I wanted, she told me it wouldn’t work. She told me that the icing would look like concrete and taste terrible if they dyed it, when I had received dyed icing already for my bridal shower cupcakes! She took it upon herself to dictate how I’d receive my order…”white leaves not green because they would look weird” “regular butter cream and not American because American is for kids” for MY wedding cupcakes!! Why not tell me that “We recommend this” rather than telling me “we won’t do this, we are doing this instead”. I spent $600 on cupcakes and was spoken down to. It was so upsetting and it was the most disappointing experience, I would not recommend this place moving forward.

We bought 2 dozen cupcakes for a birthday party. Since it was an adult party we decided to splurge and go with the good stuff. 100% worth it. These were the best cupcakes I have ever had. 5 STAR service from beginning to end. I called in to ask a few questions (was debating of this place & another). I was greeted nicely by the husband of The Sweetest Thing, he answered questions with full responses & went into detail- loved that! At no point did I feel rushed off the phone. His customer service is what truly made me decide to choose The Sweetest Thing over any other place. I went in later to buy the sweet treats. The place is a beautiful boutique. Very airy, clean and a comfortable atmosphere. I was greeted once again by the husband who was front-end. I informed him that it was our first time there and he showed me all the desserts to choose from. I ended up buying MORE than anticipated because of such good service & delicious explanations. He did an amazing job at accomadating our need for a box. Hard to find places that still care about such things, but this place made it happen. Truly a great experience and would love to continue supporting such a great business.

I've gone to the sweetest thing about 5 or 6 times. The cookies are and other sweets are great! However, with the exception of one time the service is not warm or welcoming. I understand they are priced accordingly with the quality of their product, but when you pay premium prices you should receive premium service. I hope this changes in the future!

The best desert shop in all of GTA. They have cupcakes, cookies, soft serve ice cream and vegan options on top. They also cater wedding Cakes as well which I am hearing great things about. I tried their vanilla cupcakes, a snickerdoodle, a chocolate skor and was very impressed. The sweetness was not overpowering and has the perfect balance for the frosting and the sponge was very soft and moist. In my opinion the best cupcakes I have had in GTA. Then let’s go to the cookies , oh my I almost had every selection from chocolate chip, skor cookie, mud Nutella cookie, red velvet and I was really taken aback with the soft chewy and balanced with the right amount of sugar. The ratio of chocolates in the cookies was perfectly balanced overall. I am definitely a cookie fiend and I can tell these are the best I have had so far. I ended up then getting their soft serve in which they allow you a mix in of any cookie or cupcake. Boy one of the best soft serves I had with a mix in. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. Will be a long term customer for them.

I ordered a white fondant photo cake with gold trims for a 75th bday, but when I came to pick it up today, I was presented with a butter cream icing with a chocolate drip. My white cake is brown, I almost cried! I am giving them 4 stars because of the very professional way they handled this misunderstanding and also because their CAKE tasted REALLY GOOD! Our guests who had no idea there was a mistake, admired and complimented the cake. I will for sure be a repeat costumer but next time I will make sure specifics are written down or noted properly.

Amazing service!!! I completely forgot to pickup an order, and by the time I remembered they had already closed. I called to see if anything could be done (possibly arrange to pick up the next day) but not only did they offer to deliver the cupcakes, they were at our door in 20mins!! Amazing staff, amazing customer service and the most delicious cupcakes!!!

I'm only sad about being a local and just discovering the sweetest thing this year from non local friends. The owners are absolutely amazing and hands down have done an amazing job in pouring their love for what they do into this shop. I love how Erin mentioned to me she herself painted the blue walls outside ♥️ her interaction with her customers are another level. Erin went above and beyond my expectations to correct an issue with a purchase I had made the week prior. Absolutely made me feel better just how I was treated. The only thing you will be disappointed in is missing out on some of their top items if you come too late in the day because they do sell out since everything is baked fresh day of. I highly recommend their key lime pie and all of their cookies are to die for. Pair it with their coffee too, I love their Americano. My girls and I have found our new treat spot.

Fantastic shop right in the heart of Kerr street, and shows why Kerr has the best food. I suggest asking for the blizzard like cookie thing they make using their own crushed cookies in it. Their hours recently changed to being open later, hopefully that goes for the whole summer. If you are looking to switch it up from the overused classics like Baskin Robbins or DQ, then this is the place. Nice interior, good for pre or post date hangouts, and quantity more than enough for younger kids who have a sweet tooth. I will be coming back here regularly.

Our favourite bakery! Everything is top notch and they did a wonderful job on our wedding cake as well as goodies for all of our celebrations. The ambiance of the bakery will instantly put you in a good mood. Love it all so much. Highly recommend this bakery for your baked catering needs as well as a fun place to visit for the ice cream, baked goods, espresso drinks and of course the insta-worthy sprinkle wall!

Came here to take a look at the reviews after having a tough experience calling and visiting the shop. I'm glad that some took the initiative to warn others of the rude staff and owner and I won't be surprised if others begin to leave more negative reviews. Awful staff or owner, not sure who I dealt with. But honestly, I will never support an establishment like this. People who carry attitude like this shouldn't bother working at a place where they serve the general public. Hope others learn to pass on this shop as well.
