The sweets not only look good, but they taste good as well. This has to be one of the best bakeries in Oakville. - Mimi's Cake Tour
Good quality food. They also sell frozen food. I've tried chocolate croissants and they are very good.
Authentic french cafe, great service!
Great french bakery. Friendly and pleasant service. Very nice baguette and croissant. Also recommend the mini tartettes (shortbread) with caramel and milk chocolate.
The best French (from France) patisserie in town... For the gourmets, all French Breakfast patisseries like Croissant and Paint au Chocolat are much better in the morning when they are out of the oven, crusty and super tasty ;-) Eggs on a toast is also a favorite for people who love taste and flavors in the morning.... If you like French foods and patisseries, just try it, you will be hooked!
Love this little place. It was my daughter's birthday and she was dying for macaroons and I drove over after work at 4. Google said it was open until 5 but due to lockdown they closed at 4. I phoned and asked if I could still get a few goodies. The lady let me in and was so kind and patient and the pastries were to die for. So happy we found this place.
Lovely French bakery... everything is exactly like in France, kids included. Yes, French families eat together too. Don't listen to any pretentious snobbery commentary here, it's crazy what people will complain about.
Hands down the best croissants I've ever had. ALL of them. All the time.
Amazing pastries. Best around.
We really like this place. They have great crossants and such but they also make great coffee. We feel very lucky to have such a store near us.
great staff, great food, and great seating
Seems great but hard to tell with lockdown. Best raisin danish in years!
Pain chocolat almost as good as in Southern France. Macaroons yum. And they make amazing chocolate cakes at a reasonable price.
When you order a cake here you order a masterpiece.
Just stopped in for a ham and cheese warm croissant plus a cappuccino. Food was delicious and service was great. Highly recommend!!
Nice fancy desserts. A little over priced. Not that fresh. I was kinda disappointed. Lovely owner. Very personable. Cute little store
Rich and yummy croissants. Very friendly service too. A bit pricey in my opinion but will return.
Love it here. Great for an espresso in the morning. Just wish the staff actually spoke in french...
The most beautiful pastry and breads in Canada! Truly amazing experience! Never had anything even similar to the taste and quality. The lady works there is super sweet and nice. Will definitely come back again and again
This is a real French Cafe/Patisserie. They make everything on the premises and the pastry chef is from France. The croissants are to die for as are their fruit pastries. Both make a good breakfast but if you're in the mood for other fare they have a great breakfast menu including sweet and savoury crepes, omlettes and pies, they do lunches and make a really good espresso! Highly recommend....
Delicious delicacies sold here that will sweeten your day. The owner is also very friendly and serviceable. Definitely recommend dropping by.
Croissants are incredible. That cake with the chocolate toppings is nuts. Nothing like it anywhere else. Must be ordered in advance.
Wonderful place to stop for a little sandwich, croissant, meat pie or sweet. A neighborhood cafe!
Lovely pastries but a bit pricey
Terrible bread, no where near French.
Best French Croissant in Oakville.
The best Pain aux Raisins I have tried so far .. sort of limited choices .. I wish they can expand to more items like eclairs and kouign Amman etc
Excellent food! French style wonderful atmosphere
Very quaint local bakery with an authentic touch of French flair. We particularly enjoy the hand made macarons here. Well worth a visit.
The baked goods & desserts are so delicious that I have to TRY to stay away as much as I can. Recently peeked at an ordered cake & it looked spectacular & reasonably priced. I'm sure it was great! Coffee is fine & there are other French goodies for sale. It's a small place & go early for the different croissants & my favourite Pain aux Raisin as they sell out quickly!
The best pastry shop I found in Oakville. Excellent quality, no vulgar pastries there... you can tell the pastry chef is French. There could be a little more on the shelves.
Croissants are delicious! However, the chocolate in the box of cookies I purchased was all melted throughout the packaging, so I would avoid those. Customer service is very helpful and polite!
Awesome pastries!!! Great service! Best croissants and pain au chocolat in town by far!!!
This was so disappointing. Saw good reviews and thought this would be a lovely place to try. By far the worst macarons I’ve ever tried. I really can’t even rightfully call them macarons that’s how horrible they were. Fillings included actual caramel, jam, and icing sugar. Hopefully the bake goods are better.
If you feel like coffee, then you have to be prepared for children sitting on the floor, children shouting at parents ( IKEA) and for ..... a broken coffee machine. This is NOT exactly the atmosphere of a Parisian cafe that I have known since 1968. We are waiting for a ban on coming with children younger than 10 years. We're still looking for a real cafe. Jean - doesn't have to be 5 Michelin stars. Let there be coffee and no screaming children. 20 years on the market ...? Is there any competition? Tim Hortons? Starbucks? Jokes. There is no competition so it's easy. In addition, customer requirements are small and everything in the name - european, Paris, calls WOW! My experiences - Odette 77 Rue Galande, La Maison Rose 2 rue de l'Abreuvoir, Galerie Vivienne 4 Rue des Petits Champs, Loulou Friendly diner 90 Boulevard Saint-Germain and many many others in Paris, Avignon, Marseille. Sacher, Schwarzenberg, Delmel in Vienna and many tiny cafes in the Austrian and Italian Alps. When I came to Canada for the first time my wife told me that I had to try the coffee that Canadians drink. It was dirty water from Tim Hortons. Since then, we have been looking for a REAL cafe in our area. And today we visited yours. What we met I wrote earlier. That's why only two stars - not from Michelin
Excellent and authentic French pastries. Especially love the croissants and danishes. Been going here for years, they’re always consistent with high quality, fresh food and very friendly service.
Best Croissants we've ever had!! Very authentic French croissants.
Patisserie d'Or made the most incredible cake for my mother's 70th birthday this May. A number of our guests have ordered cakes since as they were so impressed. The cake was delicious, beautiful (just as pictured), and plentiful. Merci d'avoir créé la pièce de résistance de la journée!
Lovely owners (hence the 3 star and not 2). Macaroons are NOT fresh (dry and hard - even costco's pre-packaged macaroons are better). Pearl Almond Tart was nice. Croissant is ok (much better than Loblaws but far from great - there are better places for it especially for that price). Jellies were nice but overpriced. The only thing that I have to say I actually enjoyed and would get again is the shortbread cookie with jam layer (don't remember the exact name but the cookie was amazing and the jam was outstanding!). Overall.... nice owner but the dessert was ok at best.
Lovely bakery...gracious owner. World's best chocolate and plain croissants. Buy them frozen and bake them fresh at home.
Tasty but over priced!
Worst imitation of a Tiramisu + a rubber Crepe. Would love to support local businesses, but we need better quality.
Best pain au chocolat and croissant in the area. They also have them raw (frozen) if you want to bake them yourself. I like the mini croissant/ pain au chocolat (need to order). The fruit danish are also good.
I stopped in one day for a coffee and have kept coming back. Everything is delicious.
Love the croissants here, my go-to place in Oakville. Chocate almond is amazing.
The best chocolate almond croissant in Oakville hands down!
Fancy high quality cakes.
Yum. The best croissants. I bought their croissant dough (both chocolate and regular) frozen and let them rise overnight at home. Then baked. Heaven! They are true French criosssnts and not the bread "croissant-like" stuff in other places.
Best place for croissants outside Paris! Better than any I've had in Montreal or TO
Quiet French cafe. Some breakfast & lunch options. Beautiful and delicious pastries, sweets & coffees. Kinda pricey.
Very good pastries and friendly people
Sweet little cafe for a latte or tea and a French pastry. 7 tables for groups of 2 to 8 people fit around 24 people while still being small enough for a quiet conversation or an hours work. Lots of free parking. Pleasant friendly service from Monica.
I had never been to this bakery before as I live out of town. I called and discussed what I was looking for for my daughters baby shower. The owner was extremely helpful and helped me choose the vanilla and raspberry mousse cake with fruit and white chocolate artfully adorning the top….and it was delicious!
I bought croissants here, they were amazing, real france and expensive however would recommend this place.
The prices are ridiculous!! The hours are also really inconvenient! However, great freshly baked foods, exquisite interior just like when I lived in France!! Cute little shop and a great relaxing place!!
A lovely little place to eat and chat. Nice sundries too.
Very cute little place with an absolute sweetheart at the counter. I had a ham and cheese crepe which was good, a latte and a fruit danish whish was incredible. Unfortunately when I went at 12:30 they seemed to have already run out of some things and continued to run out if things while I ate my lunch.
Great croissants and coffee in a cute bakery.
Croissants taste just like home!!! Texture is perfect! Apple tartelette and lemon tartelette were so good as well. Will come back.
If there is one thing you should do before you die, in Oakville, is ORDER ONE OF THEIR CUSTOM CAKES!!!. ????Simply amazing and a beautiful piece of art. Thanks so much for another birthday special! Dave
Pastries are magnifique!???? Croissant....omg! Sooooo buttery and melt in your mouth good!????????
I was gifted a lemon tartlet from Patisserie D’Or and it was the best pastry I’ve had since my last trip back home (France). Growing up, the biggest dilemma was having to chose between a chocolate confection and a lemon tart. This was a a non-issue here: the lemon tartlet comes with a crunchy chocolate square and a melt-in-your-mouth chocolate ribbon. The lemon filling was perfectly balanced. I’m assuming salted butter was used for the crust. I can’t recommend this place enough.
I order Danish cakes in advance as you never get it, they are always gone. Not sweet with fresh fruits.....Amazing.
Their almond croissants are amazing! Always so fresh! I’ve also tried a bunch of their French pastries and it has also been very very good.
Love it here. The absolute best croissants!
Go here for your fix of french dainties ! This is a hidden gem in Oakville, tucked away in a plaza in Notting Hill Gate, next to Saint Matthews Church. They serve light meals as well but the stars of the show are the pastries.
Have been at many pastry shops over the decades. Have known of Patisserie D'Or since 1998. It is head and shoulders the best. period! Jean Luc and Monica have perfected their offering. We are sincerely grateful.
Amazing quality! Best croissants you will ever eat....period! Their cakes are pure art form but that’s what you would expect from a pastry chef with a 5 Diamond background. Simply delicious.
Very nice, good coffee, nice pastries
Given this is a patisserie, I am rating it as such - the pastries are delicious! The coffee is another matter entirely :(
