Was in the Oak Bay Area looking for breakfast and was recommended this place. At first I was a bit hesitant given their website was under construction and we are still in pandemic times, but we went anyways and was pleasantly surprised by the staff and food. There were only a few small tables and chairs for seating, but the food makes it worth coming back for!

De'lish catered my birthday party last month, and my guests and I were so impressed! We cannot speak highly enough of this team. Mark and George came out to our house and provided a dinner for 14 that was both delicious and well presented, delivered flawlessly, and graciously without a hitch despite a power outage before any of the guests arrived. Yes, that's right a power outage. I would never have known from their demeanour, they did not bat an eye, but carried on with the use of our bbq. Their main concern was not for themselves or how it was making more work for them, or even how it would affect the food; it was only to reassure me that all would be well. They candlelit my whole house and the party was even more elegant than it would have been. All the while these two worked a couple of feet away from my dining room table and you would not have known they were there. It being Easter, Spring, and a pandemic, we decided to go local and narrow in search of the Very Best Hot Cross Bun.* Our adventure took us through Oak Bay and parts of Victoria that are still accessible to people from anywhere else, or that you don’t risk getting stuck in forever if they reconfigure the streets while you’re eating your research and you can’t get out. Our search for truth took us to Ottavio on Oak Bay Avenue, Bond Bond’s on Blanshard, Foi-Epi on Yates, Fry’s Bakery on Craigflower Road in Esquimalt, Cobs Bread on Oak Bay Avenue, and to our local bakery and caterer, De’lish. It was pretty gruelling, all things considered, but I’ve watched Jumanji, so I know what a quest is like. We returned to most locations several times to correct sampling errors. There were a lot of sampling errors, and it’s important that hot-cross-bun research be thorough. We’re just dedicated that way. We used a totally subjective rating system. My co-rater identified texture, spice mixture, quantity of citrus, cranberry presence, sweetness, size. Blah, Blah, Blah. Me, I looked for how many I could shove down my cakehole before feeling woozy. I also looked at how they tasted cold versus toasted, because sometimes you need to eat the evidence before you get home, especially if your co-rater is watching your weight for you. In the end, the Hot Cross Buns from De’lish won out as the Very Best Hot Cross Bun. This is because they are, and because they’re, like, only three blocks from the house, so trust me when I say there was no sampling error, over and over again. *Individual results may vary, so create your own Best Hot Cross Bun Quest. You’ll have fun toodling about, discover some fantastic Hot Cross Buns, and will support the folks who have kept us fed, and in better spirits these past many months. Nothing wrong with any of that.

Very good food! Everything is hand made and it tastes great. I have not tried their catering system yet, but I happened to be around when someone was ordering for the catering service and the staff were very insightful, giving suggestions and asking for specific details and food allergies. Dine in is limited space (about 6 tables outside). Staff were very friendly.

de'lish is my 'go to' place for my weekly quiche order. They recently catered a family gathering for 70 people. From initial request to final cleanup, Mark at de'lish made it easy for us. Excellent suggestions on both hot and cold appetizers, and the food, as always, was exquisite. Mark took care of every detail, including providing a coat rack (I forgot to ask for this) at the entry, and a server to help shepherd people into the space. Mark and his staff are courteous, respectful, and sensitive. And they dress for the part! They know how to provide seamless service, ensure people were fed and had drinks, all without interfering with the content of the gathering. THANK YOU de'lish!

Had good experience and rebooked for a get together Dec 23 never heard back about the menu or if it was a good for a week and a half with multiple emails called told he would send a menu. No menu but on the 15th I got an email saying he couldn't do the catering the menu was too small I'd have to pick from the store is responded by saying make the menu bigger his response we don't have time pick from the store sorry. I now have one day that I'm back in town to shop and prepare and I won't be able to attend a get together the night before

Provides catering service. Located at intersection of St. Patrick St. and Central Ave. in south Oak Bay, just one long block from Beach Drive. Nice place to walk or cycle to ... respect the quiet residential neighbourhood and leave your motor vehicle somewhere else (perhaps by McNeill beach on Beach Drive)

Mark is a craftsman. He helped develop a menu that was both visually appealing and wonderfully tasty. And his lemon & lavender birthday cake proved to be a crowning end to a very special lunch.
