Market closed just as we arrived! We love this place one of our favorite stops every trip home to Cape Breton! Had fun taking pics on the Hugh Lawn Chair! Lol

Andrew Bourque

Very polite staff,. Good selection,. Great premade soup mixes.

Karen Styles

This was the perfect lunch stop while driving the Cabot Trail! We happened upon it by accident and it saved us from getting fast food at a gas station. The Turkey Club Sandwich was a thing of beauty! Lots of fresh baked goods, fudge and small grocery supply and adorable gift shop. Seems to be run by a group of young entrepreneurial women, love the vibe and would recommend this spot to anyone in the area!

Kathryn Hogan

FD offers Keto Baked goods from Locally Baked in Lower Sackville that are fantastic! The ALMOND JOY is mouthwatering and keeps me on track!

We travel to Cape Breton ever summer for the last 4 years. Sadly, until just this year we had never stopped here. The Farmer's Daughter is one of those staple stops for tourists coming and going through the Cabot Trail. We got some pretty fantastic burgers for lunch here. The homemade buns are something! We won't miss this stop next time!

Brian B

Always my go to heading home to Cape Breton.Great coffee and baked goods

Wesley Chan

Cute market that made a road trip pit stop extra pleasant. Washroom was clean and well maintained. Highly recommend the stuffed buns, heated! They were a delicious treat. Be careful about being paralyzed by indecision regarding their baked goods! Huge selection and everything looks delicious! We ended up getting the date squares and they were scrumptious!

Maria Wiebe

That wrap was delicious! And big enough for supper and for my lunch the next day. Sweet potato fries...YUM!!

Lyle Pitts

Best breakfast sandwich ???? ever! Bread, produce, some baking goods, hot coffee, maple syrup and even a pair of shoes to go! Great stop along the trail!

Daphne Googoo

I love this place! I buy my baked goods, gifts, footwear and clothing at this one stop shopping!

Navin Rai

Great food at reasonable prices. I got a cheeseburger and fries, three fish tacos, and a chicken sandwich for about $35. All were good. I gave the chicken sandwich to my 11 month old, he loved it. They also have soft serve ice cream, regular ice cream, lots of desserts and treats like lemon meringue pie, and local fruits, veggies, meats and preserves. Worth a stop. There is a little children's play area as well, although it could use a bit of updating, is still fun for kids.

Sandy Best

Nice place but more of a gift shop than a farmers market store

Darcy B

We always have to stop here at least once when visiting the island. They have the best selection of ice cream. Peanut butter fudge crunch is a must have. I can’t remember what they’re called but the buns with the filling at the snack counter are out of this world, definitely give them a try. To top it off, great service and friendly staff!

Melinda Young

food was ok n their baked goods r great but were u eat is degusting We decided to eat in n there were flies everywhere, food all over the floor . So if there is flies in the back of ur store u can bet they r all over the food as well in the rest of the store YUK !!!!!!

The advance warning signage for about 15 km was perfect, the fresh produce and baked goods were so appreciated. I would have appreciated some assistance, especially at cash when I waited behind a woman for quite some time since there was no one at the other window, and then a customer went to the empty station window and a staff assisted him.

Fresh produce, friendly, reasonable prices. Good breakfast. Open but spotty wifi.

Kristi Wiebe

Cute little bakery and store. Delicious food. Well worth the quick wait. Would definitely recommend.

Tom Mills (Cape Breton Web Design)

$10 for 2 pcs chicken and like 8 fries... seriously! I always liked the food here but I’m certain I will choose another location for food in this area.

Krishna Kumar

I had crispy chicken burger and it was delicious. I also bought their white bread pack and it was so good.

Stephen Bain

A bit pricy but fun experience to shop, has souvenirs, food and a small park for kids.

Victoria Wiebe

neat little bakery. the burgers couldn't be beat for the price! one thing though... the fries could be saltier. but that's just personal preference

Erin Frederick

Perfect place to stop on the way off the island! We bought honey and maple syrup for gifts for family - and some for ourselves too! The donair dumpling was delicious as were the fish tacos. Pickup a fresh loaf of bread and jam for sandwiches on the go.

G Ng

Wide selection of home made and ready 2 go food and souvenir, craft items for a store located in this area. Huge ice cream scoops!! And fresh breads and fresh fruits were out favs. Worth a visit.

Joe Sears

Stopped in and this place never disappoints. They added a lobster roll and it was nothing short of perfection. Picked up a high in demand Lemon Meringue Pie. Talk about a slice of heaven. Ya gotta eat here!

Cristi Yorke

Gorgeous baked goods but very limited in selection of other things including produce.

Malsum The Wolf

Little pricey but the food is lovely

legolias04

My father and I stop here all the time. Dad loves their war cake or as they call it raisin cake. I love their Molasses cookies!!

Emylee Cuthbertson

Cute little boutique, bakery, and eatery. This place has great "tourism items" like jams and coffees to take home of you are purchasing items along the way for gifts. Prices were fair, workers and cashiers were friendly. Very clean.

Shane Kirkham

Stopped here to get food. Originally ordered a pretty common standard item, but they were sold out. I made another choice and after a bit they gave me something different that I did not order. Staff was not particularly helpful or friendly so I didn’t bother spending more time to get my order corrected.

Jason Surette

Friendly staff but the name implies fresh veggies and fruit. I found the selection to be no better than the average grocery store.

Melanie Maynard

Lovely shop, Christmas section has some really nice stuff.

Andrew Clarke

Great find! Excellent mix of food and lots of local options. Baked goods were excellent. Will go again.

April Barnes

It was mostly shut down in October so maybe it's better in the summer.

Michael Hughes

Very delicious baked good...the Apple crumble was incredible ... but when we went again on our way back down the Cabot trail they were sold out. Disappointing! Excellent selection of Covered Bridge chips as well, my favorite. Never knew they had do many flavours. Great little spot!

Jon Woodman

This place is ground zero for delicious baked goods in all shapes and sizes. If you have a sweet tooth or three get yourself to the Farmer's Daughter!

Marco Imperatore

One of the few places to stop for food while heading to Iona from Port Hawkesbury. Friendly staff and decent food. If sitting at their outdoor patio, be aware that it's right at a roundabout, so can get a bit noisy with traffic.

Suhel Shaikh

Nice place for a pit stop. Had lunch here. Staff is friendly. Food was good. Ice creams was the cherry on the cake

Cliff Cameron

Always a great place to stop, although over the past couple of years I've noticed that the same baked items I buy consistently (molasses biscuits, cheese biscuits) have gotten smaller in size, but remained the same price or increased in price. I definitely don't mind paying more, but keeping the size the same as before (even for a higher price) would definitely make me a happier customer.

Chuck Fall

Had an icecream cone. Was very refreshing and good value. You have to check out their extra large chair. Lots of great baked goods and crafts in the gift shop.

Oneblueone Brown

Great food. Cute shop!

Daniel Smyth

Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staf. Good choice of bakery products. Limited choice of fruit but great apples

Neville Feltham

the food was ok, but the seating area was very cold!!

Cecilia J. LeBlanc

Stopped by today. Really busy! Had a really tasty BLT, coffee and on my way. Great service and friendly people.

Dan Sawler

Home bakery - cookies were delicious and were still warm from the oven.

kelly robinson

Sweetest store. So many alternative Food options, fun, clothes, shoes a christmas store upstairs. Loved it

Louise Curtis

You can get it all here!! Really interesting place to stop for a coffee and a snack. Great milkshakes too.

Cheryl Delorey

I give it two stars instead of one just because the baked food is tasty. It is so difficult to get service even when standing at the counter and making eye contact with staff. Is the fudge counter the spot that the workers dislike the most? I got a salad that was just a pile of lettuce. When I commented, I was told, yep that is the salad. No apology or anything. The prices are ridiculous. I love to support local businesses when I can, but I am sorry, not this one.

Elaine Burton Brown

Well, started going to this bakery years back and has done and kept everything as good. The bakery has great selection and in cases still warm! The porridge is the best! They also have a great take out too! Oh the bakery is real homemade. You can smell it right away when you walk in the door!

Cyrus Bernard

The Farmers Daughter has always been my go to if it's just a quick bite to eat or a full sit down meal. The staff is wonderful, place is beautifully kept kuddos to the owners. I purchased baked goods yesterday evening.and today I'll surprise my surprise myself.

Gary “Digar” Dixon

Great place to stop something for everyone from ice cream to bake goods etc

Korey Mac Innis

Folks, this is the mecca for all things Cape Breton, centred at the heart of the island itself-expect an experience like no other!

Jade Ember

Has a lovely view and yummy baked goods. Only downside was waiting 15 mins for ice cream while the workers were eating soft serve only to get told the soft serve was out when we ordered!? Then was given the wrong order. The woman who served us was obviously new there so we ended up getting a cone for free.

Rekwired Nayme

Great cinnamon buns and muffin. Breakfast sandwiches are huge and delicious. If you are not lumberjack hungry you could easily split them between two people.

Wayne Campbell

Excellent Breakfasts served for take out or eat in.

Allan Hann

Breakfast was good and coffee was good my wife loves the gluten free baked goods and shopping around in store. Over the years we spent many weekend's dropping in.

Annette Hachey

Very nice market with fresh baked goods..unique!!

Joanna Chaisson

Love this place! So much to see! My wife bought moccasins and I got soviniers! Lovely place to shop for homebaked goods clothes andcfruits and veg.

HD F

Quick pit stop. Lots of interesting items. A surprising collection of shoes. Bakery side look delicious.

Hin Or

Market and restaurant conveniently located and with big parking lot but if you want good food go to Charlene's just down the road. $17 for four shrimp, four scallops and a small piece of fish, all very average tasting.

Justin Lynch

Excellent fresh made product. The service however is very disorganized. Nobody seems to know who's on cash, or where the line is or it starts...it can't seem to handle more than a couple customers in the store at a time.

Chris Bordeleau

Great breakfast, the bacon is really good!

Maynard Peck

Fresh home made bake goods! You can't go wrong here , this bakery also has a take out , ice cream , fudge oh my ! you name it ! they have it . Perfect place for buying your Christmas gifts it's truly a sweet idea .

May Zhagro

Fun space to stop by for a snack or to check out the gift shop. Farmer’s Daughter has a food area, an ice cream shop, a bakery, a grocery store, and a gift shop. Lots of markers indicating how far you are from here on route. We had the potato skin, the corn chowder, and the strawberry short cake. It took around 15 minutes to receive our order and there was a small space near the back of the shop for dining in. Food was alright, but not memorable. Worth dropping by as there are may be something that you might find interesting there.

Debbie Currie

The best fresh baked goods, that I have had in a long time!! Clean and friendly atmosphere!!
