Here you will see the reviews of people who know the products of Main Street Restaurant (Bakery) in the territory close to Nova Scotia (Canada).
At present this business has a rating of 4.2 stars over 5 and that score has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is quite good, and it is founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the valuation is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to give their review when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to set opinions when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Bakery is included in the category of Restaurant.
Cob salad was delish
This is their updated menu. I ordered the breakfast burrito which I enjoyed and it was very filling.
Proceed with caution! We went in on a busy evening. We were seated right away. But the waitress and food both were late! We ordered a special of lobster with mussels and veggie pasta. The pasta was bland and tasteless. We sent it back. The lobster was not cleaned properly and when we asked them. They asked us to clean it ourselves. May be we were used to doing that. The waitress was clearly busy and she came off as a bit irritated with our comments. If you have the time. Just drive to another restaurant. You are welcome.
Awesome place! would not reccomend the fish burger. Everything else was great
Great food, quick service and a nice patio.
I expected a lot from here, especially considering the prices. The server was friendly and great to answer questions, but the food itself took quite a while to arrive. I ordered the fish and chips - the fish was quite oily and flavourless, the fries were alright. I had high hopes for dessert based on it being advertised as a bakery, but the strawberry shortcake was so hard I could not eat the biscuits, which was 85% of the dish itself. Overall, quite disappointed.
This restaurant is REALLY good. Best shrimp tacos ever! Fries are purty friggin amazing too.
You gotta try the shrimp tacos. They are out of this world. And the fries are to die for!!! A must if you are passing by.
Chowder was not hot and the potatoes in it were not cooked. Coffee wasn't hot either.
Amazing food, amazing people and amazing service. Went there for 3 meals over a weekend trip to Cape Breton with some friends because we absolutely loved the restaurant and the people. Ordered their fish & chips twice and tried their breakfast menu as well. All were delish ???? Everyone that worked there was so friendly. They answered questions we had about the park, gave us some stories, suggested locations, it was great. They convinced us that NS has the nicest people in Canada. Their prices are also very reasonable compared to the other restaurants around the area. So, that's a nice bonus.
Yummy + Cute. Attentive staff, and delicious meals. Recommend the Angel Hair Seafood
Such a nice discovery with great service and food. Had the mussels, seafood chowder and a beer.
We love that everything here is made in house! They are a family run business you can tell they work hard and have great pride in their dishes. They have a bakery in house that makes amazing fruit pies and lovely fresh bread. You cant beat their Angel hair Lobster pasta dish either! It was a true dining experience.
Lauren was our waitress and she did a fantastic job! Very friendly and helpful! Food was delivered promptly, was delicious, and serving sizes were very generous. The y had a nice selection of pies so I bought two.
After reading the reviews posted on the wall while waiting to be seated, I was really anticipating a great meal. I could not believe we waited an hour to be seated and another hour before getting our food! We have an 8 year old and we couldn't have expected such SLOW service. Food was mediocre. I had fish and chips and was quite disappointed. My husband had lobster but did enjoy it when it finally arrived. We decided to try dessert but sorry we did. Overall a letdown.
I'm going to have to give this restaurant a 3 stars out of 5. The ambiance is great. It is a quaint, country restaurant that sells baked goods at the front. Clean, pleasant surroundings, and a wonderful deck overlooking Main Street. The food was really good too. I ordered a veggie burger, which was delicious, although it crumbled completely in my hands as I was trying to eat it. Still great though. The lasagna was also very good. However, all of this was dampened by the fact that the FOOD. TOOK. FOR-EVER. TO. ARRIVE. It was easily 45 minutes before we saw anything and we were almost ready to leave. I checked other tables and they waited just as long as us for their meals. I spoke to other customers and they too said they almost left. Plus, this may sound like a small point, but I would like to request the owners to find a separate speaker system for the patio outside. In order for people to hear the piped in music inside, they had to turn it up louder than was comfortable outside. The outside speakers are much lower and end up blasting the music over people's head. I don't want to sound like a grumpy old person, but this really needs to change. I go to restaurants to have conversations, not be blasted by music.
Food tasted like it was reheated, I had the Chicken Parm. Thought I'd have better luck with the desert since they brag about how good their pies are... Probably the biggest mistake I've made on this trip... It was NOT fresh, at least 2 days old and microwaved. Was not worth how much we spent on it. 43$ for me and my partner who was also disappointed. That was a 20$ meal at best, tip included. Will never go back.
Wonderful and well prepared home cooked food. We had salmon prepared with dill as well as fresh baked blueberry pie. Everything was perfect and the service was friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed and soothing. Thank you
Amazing breakfast, dog friendly, and very reasonably priced. Such a beautiful patio
Don't miss this place when visiting the Cabot Trail in Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Great food. Try their breakfast. Clean place. Friendly staff.
Grading on a curve, this gets a full five stars because it's probably the best seafood you'll find this far away from the bigger towns and destinations. Friendly service and a very welcoming family atmosphere. Baked goods were a wonderful ending to our meal before getting back on the road. Be careful pulling into the parking lot, too! There's a hefty dip off the side of the road.
Absolutely loved the food and our server. We came earlier to check the place and menu and the owner came to greet us and introduced himself. We came at 7 for dinner and it was pretty busy but it did not take long. I had the salmon and the crust was overcooked but I took the crust off and the salmon was really good after all. We also ordered the onion ring tower and that was perfection! The shrimp tacos were amazing and the clams as well.
The food was awesome!!! I had the chicken ceaser salad with broccoli cheddar bites!!! The bites were perfectly deep fried and the cheese melted in my mouth so good. My friend had the burger and fries they were also perfectly deep fried and crunchy, everything was hot and fresh. The waitress was super attentive and friendly if you are in the area stop in and get some dinner it's to die for. I've also had breakfast there and it was stellar.
I'll preface this by saying if prices weren't at the top end for a family style restaurant, it would have received 2 more stars. However, at top dollar, was disappointed that the fish was not fresh, and was either cooked in batches and kept under a warming lamp to dry out, or is kept frozen in a box they dont seal and is slightly freezer burnt. The marinade on the mussels was only okay, and mussels weren't cooked in marinade so many had no flavour. The mussels were not de-bearded, and were gritty. Chowder was missing a couple sea food ingredients listed on the menu - lots of potato. All of this is acceptable at a roadside diner with bargain prices, but all the plates were $$7 - $9 above what I'd expect for the quality.
Excellent Sea food vermicelli with crab legs, scallops, tiger shrimp and Mussels, best I have ever had! my husband had the burger and fries (not a seafood fan) burger was good, fries were Perfect. Returned for breakfast the following morning and we both LOVED our choices of Breakfast cobbler and breakfast wrap
A lucky find for us. I had seared scallops, perfectly cooked and delicious. Two people in my group ordered the lobster angel hair pasta. A show stopper, you have to see it to believe it. My only negative comment would be that the ambience doesn't match the quality of the food.
Pretty good! Seafood fresh! The pasta that came with seafood pasta kind of soft and tasteless, but the sauce and seafood phenomenal.Fantastic strawberry rhubarb pie. They Said it would be a 40 mn wait to be served, due to many diners, but it was much faster. Glad we went. Husband was cranky and complained about his fish entree, but it looked good to me. Daughter was just happy they had fries. And they let us know immediately they were out of onion rings, so we wouldn’t order and then have to quickly substitute. Was impressed by that. Usually restaurants only tell you they’re out after you try to order that food
This was a perfect stop midmorning today for some hot tea and fresh baked goods, along with pleasant conversations with several staffers about our Triumph motorcycle, our travels so far, and tips for some must-see sites along our upcoming routes. We'll definitely stop in again on all our rides north. Thumbs up for Main Street.
My wife and I stopped in for dinner based on it being on our way to our hotel and a recommendation in one of our guidebooks. My thoughts: -The seafood chowder was quite tasty, but it was extremely salty. It came with a nice crunch roll to dip into it as well. -The mac and cheese had big chunks of lobster in it, and not sure if this is normal, but in the US Mac and Cheese is usually gooey and sticky. Mine was swimming in melted cheese like a soup. -My wife ordered a seafood salad which was good, but it probably had triple the amount of dressing it needed poured onto it (despite it being ordered on the side). -The decor is nice and the patio is quite nice as well. Generally speaking it looks like a classy place and it is really well kept. -The service was quite sluggish (despite 3 waiters and maybe 7 or 8 tables) and we ended up having to come inside from the patio to finally get a check. -I ordered a martini and asked for it straight up, instead of asking what straight up meant the bartender made my martini 'neat' meaning it was never shaken with ice and it had the vermouth in it I didn't want in it. Don't order a drink that isn't a standard drink on the menu :). -Obviously when you sit on a patio there's the risk of bugs, mosquitoes in particular. If you sit outside be sure to bring bugspray for your own sake! I definitely wouldn't say 'stay away', but I personally wouldn't return.
Solid prices and fantastic food. Love their chowder, and the fish and chips were wonderful.
We stopped for a late breakfast and it took forever to get our food, which was "ok". We also had to ask for our drinks when our food finally arrived. All being said, they were short-staffed... but the servers they had weren't exactly quick either. We won't be back.
I was so pumped to fine hot apple cider !!! And the western ommelete was delicious ... of course I nabbed a Nanaimo bar on the way out and was by far the best I've ever tasted ????????????
A little over priced but the service was great considering it's peak tourist season and I had the fish with a garden salad for a side....fish was done perfectly! No complaints.
Absolutely, hands down, amazing food and service! U gotta try their crème brûlée! OMG the pie is to die for!!!!
Food was delicious but their service seemed to be too slow. They only had 3 servers for the whole restaurant during the lunch hours. We had to find and ask our server to bring us more water. At the end of our meal, we had to wait almost 15 mins before I decided to get up and go to the front desk to ask for our bill. The guests on other tables around us were being checked on constantly to see how they were doing and got good service...on the other hand we weren't even asked for anything throughout our meal.
I got a Veggie Burger and my mom got Chicken Stir Fry! Both delicious ????
The best meal I have had in a long time. Very friendly staff and love the fact they are dog friendly! Highly recommend the buttermilk chicken sandwich! It was amazing ♥️
Lobster! It was the best lobster of our trip with great value. They cut up all the pieces and have a bit of fun with the presentation. Our waiter said he fished that lobster himself and gave us a bit of lobster tidbits. The building looks brand new with parking out front.
I came here twice. Great deck! The seafood pasta dish was perfect the first time but was watered down and more like a chowder the last time.
Excellent menu choices even for picky eater. Loved their stir fry! Fast service, very friendly staffs and busy restaurant. We came around 2 pm and they were still busy. Didn't try the items from the bakery as we were full.
This place is quality. I had the lasunga it was cheesy and delicious maybe the best I've had it came with amazing garlic toast very fresh. My friend had the shark steak it was almost pork chop like but way more juicy and delicious. My grandpa had the fish and chips his fish was very good but his fries were over cooked and gross. The coconut cream pie was delicious and the lemon tart very good as well. The restaurant was packed because maybe best food around. The drinks seem a bit over priced almost 7 bucks for a bottle that's a bit much. Overall a great way to finish our Cabot trail adventure.
wow what a great find, the first eating establisment you come to when entering ingonish, easy to find just see all the cars parked every where yes this is a popular place, don't be surprised to see a line up we had to wait 20mins to get seated. but it was worth it. Fresh seafood local caught so you need to check the daily specials based on what's caught. we were a party of 4 everyone had a different entree, we all agree excellent from scratch cooking well plated . huge portions.great value a true gem. nice to get away from the fried food locations seems many places know how to only fry their fish not here.
Fresh & delicious, perfect service, every time again gladly
Server was fantastic, but I ordered a Caesar salad that had *way* too much dressing. I acknowledged that it was 100% my fault for not asking for it on the side, but still asked for a new salad because I really wanted to enjoy my salad. Unfortunately the new salad was also way over dressed and the cooks didn’t even bother to finish it — they left out key ingredients. Seemed a bit petty. I never got the salad I wanted. Bummer.
Great food with lots of seafood options. We sat on the outdoor patio that has a view of the street, great place on a nice day but it can get dusty. It was a good lunch stop before the long drive back to Halifax
Tasty food. Lovely wait staff. Nice outside patio too
This place used to be one of my favorites. I came to Ingonish with the expectation of this meal being one of the highlights of my trip as it always has been. Not sure what happened or who took it over but what a disappointment!! Terrible service and disappointing food. Took almost half an hr to get a couple of mediocre overcooked burgers when only 6 or 8 people in the restaurant. The fries were good....the only reason for the 2 stars!
Yummy food , teenage girl team well managing the service . The intelligence of Cape Breton restaurants - close everything for season when colours are starting forming in Cape Breton , this restaurant was one of few opened
Service was fast and friendly. Menu has many seafood options. I ordered the fish tacos and they were amazing...food has a feeling of homemade...
I'm only giving a two star rating although the food was good...the worst part was the service we received. We waited a long time give our order, we got our drinks but it took a long for our food to arrive. We also noticed that other tables around us were given baskets of bread and we were not. Our waitress was rather rude to us when I said I didn't like my beer she suggested and could I get something else. She also didn't come back to check on us once we finally got our food. When she did come over my friend asked for another glass of wine and after a half hour still didn't get. Needless to say she did not get a tip from any of us.
The food here is excellent. Our server was delightful. A special meal for us. 6 stars.
Fish and shrimp tacos are delicious! Breakfast is standard, overall well rounded menu. For non fish eaters, chicken fingers are delicious.
One of the best eateries on the island of Cape Breton. Their mussels are to die for.
The service was really long, about 30 minutes to get a dirty glass of water meanwhile the restaurant was half empty and full of servers. There was a lot of table full of empty food waiting to be cleaned. The food was neat, but not more than you'd expect from the price. (Burger were actually good, fish and chips crispy but not as tasteful you wish that near from the sea, avoid rotini a la vodka, the chicken was weird! On the other hand the fries were very good!)
not as cheap as some places you’ll find on the trail. Food was pretty good!
The best value you can get. We tried lobsters in NB and PEI. Both of them charged almost $40 per pound which is ridiculously expensive. However, you can get half of lobster, scallops and lots of mussels with around $30. We were very satisfied with our meal :) The service was also great!
Loved this place. Incredible service, food was A+ and even a slice of homemade pie for desert! Eat here!
So delish! Freshest seafood. Had catch of the day. Halibut done in spinach cream sauce. Fresh salad. So many baked goods, as most awesome restaurants do up in Cape Breton. Waitstaff so friendly, like coming home when you come through.
Very busy. I was starting to wonder if we were going to get served after we were sat. Seemed to take forever. The waitress was very polite and helpful with cracking my lobster.
Really enjoyed our food here. We had the fish tacos and the vegetable stir fry. Both were delicious. It was very busy for a Sunday evening and people were being turned away. The wait staff work very hard and are always on the go. It might mean service is a little slower but the hospitality was genuine.
Service was great and the fish tacos plus seafood chowder were both delicious...my daughter was super impressed with both!
Great breakfast, very good selection and excellent service
This was the message I sent to management: Hello. I understand there are restrictions with Covid-19, but we came in to ask if we could have 2 tables put together so we could our family sit together. Please note, this was part of a family reunion because my husband (who served on the HMCS Fredericton) just returned from deployment after 141 days at sea, while a helicopter crash took place. We were told no because of restrictions which we understand, but than we had two tables put together right in front of us. The excuse we got was this establishment knew the people coming in. This is poor service, a and a terrible excuse to treat your customers. We will never eat here again. This is a terrible way to treat the people who serve for your country.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you can find it here. My choice is the traditional. Seafood is also on the menu. Spacious with a welcoming environment and a busy but friendly staff. Parking is limited. Having enjoyed supper has well as breakfast it's an excellent choice for both. Very clean and sleek interior with plenty of pictures depicting the local area makes it cozy. Outside deck is a plus particularly on a beautiful day. I will not hesitate to return despite the higher priced, but delicious meals.
We had a fantastic breakfast here. They seem to really care about their food, and our server was very kind and attentive.
Never felt so motivated to write a review after a meal. Chef was outstanding exhibiting creativity whilst allowing ingredients to speak for themselves. We had the today special of blueberry soup which was surprisingly delicious and unique, but strangely comforting as it evokes the taste of yogurt. The mussels were fresh and well prepared. The crab was outstanding and well worth the time wrestling away with it, very fresh and allowed to shine through steaming and light butter. The most outstanding dish was the lobster angel hair, the generosity of mussels and lobster was incredible and the balance of flavour was spot on. Would be nice to have a thicker pasta like linguini to keep al dente but a minor issue as the angel hair was slightly soft due to it soaking the sauce (yum) and not due to overcooking. The only let down was the choice of house wine but I understand that they're trying to stay true to Nova Scotian produce.
Wanted to get lunch to go so we ordered a sandwich and a wrap (which were pretty good). Didn't want fries to go so the cashier said we could get side salad instead. Ended up paying almost $10 extra for this (which I wish they would have told us was an upcharge). Lunch ended up costing us over $40! Food was decent but not worth the price.
I have been coming here for years and this last visit in August - the food was awful. Flavourless, saltless goopy pasta. And I usually LOVE their pasta. I order the same seafood linguini every summer and it is always the highlight of my visit to Ingonish. This summer, it was such a waste of $30. My partner's angelhair pasta had the same problem, but the flavour of the sauce was actually off putting. Service was lovely, but ultimately we come here for a good meal.
The owner of this place needs to WAKE UP and realize they NEED more STAFF in the kitchen ... Or simply a better team. The wait there was redidulous and reading comments online it seems to be a regular thing. My seafood dish I had for 2 was the most bland seafood I’ve ever had. It is all cooked together in one pot, basically boiled with a broth beneath it. Cooked perfectly but the taste was not there. Personally I will NEVER GO BACK because of the unnecessary wait also being from the island you should take pride in the way you cook your seafood. Not throw it all on top of each other and boil it and send it away. It NEEDED flavour. Cooked perfectly but 0 seasoning. 1 STAR FLAVOUR AND 1 STAR WAIT ⭐️ .. Also we wanted to void our mussels as an app because it came with our meal and our waitress said “NO” because it’s two late 5 minutes after ordering. The mussels took a half hour to get to us. HMMMM. Bad Service.
Absolutely amazing food & service. Definitely cant wait to go back!!
The restaurant is clean, service is excellent (really above average), food was superb (large portions). Gluten free available. Local decor and paintings. Military discount! Thank you to staff and management ❤️
Such an amazing meal and great service.
We have gone to the restaurant 3 times over the past 3 years. Each time we have been there we have been so disappointed. The only reason we have walked over their door step was due to the fact was our options were limited. I don't post but I had to voice my experience this evening. We waited for 45 minutes for a server to take our order. The only reason they did was a table behind us let the server know that we were waiting for almost an hour. We placed our order and made it simple. They brought our meals and it was so terrible we all took a bite and realized hunger was better than our meals I will never enter their door again
We ordered a lobster seafood pasta as well as a swordfish platter with seafood chowder to take-out and was pleasantly surprised. The lobster pasta came with a half lobster on top as well as a large amount of angel-hair pasta in a delicious white wine sauce. You can taste that the chowder was made from scratch with generous bits of seafood inside. Both dishes were very fresh and portion sizes were satisfying. Five star restaurant quality food for a reasonable price. In our two week vacation to the region, we have yet to eat at a place better than this one. Would highly recommend.
The staff was extra friendly, the food was delicious, my partner and I both had a 1 piece fish and chip and 2 pops for under 40$ it was lunch time and the place was getting busy but within an hour we had ordered, ate and paid. Our waitress said it will be closing at the end of October. We will be back for sure.
Our meal was amazing ! We started with mussels which were some the of best we've had in a while ! Serve was really good ! We will definitely be returning in the future!
Only if there was a zero star option… Horrible services. Super rude waitress who just ignored me after seeing me waiting for 5-10 mins for a take out order. She takes payment from another customer who walked in after me while I was still waiting to put in an order. Then she just walked off without even acknowledging me.
Food delicious, the seafood platter for two which I did not have but according to the two who ate it was excellent. The pasta with meat sauce was the best according to my daughter. The only negative was slow service, friendly relax staff. Definitely a place to go back too!!
Pros: among the few restaurants near Ingonish. Delicious seafood chowder. Cons: extremely slow delivery of the food (over 1 hr 15 mins) and inattentive service. Some dinners were blah. Wanted to love this place - great location in this tiny town but was really disappointed by service/slow food delivery - put a damper on our evening.
Had the seafood platter - was delicious. Wife had the pasta primavera and loved it.
Great food, nice patio, friendly staff but terrible coffee.
Great breakfast. Homemade bread for French toast is an indication of the quality and freshness of all ingredients. All of us enjoyed our orders. Thank you!
Nasty service, waiter was extremely rude, seems to be racist even, and threw plates down at us. Cutlery fell off the plate and almost landed on us and she was not apologetic at all. Food was horrible, seafood pasta was bland and overpriced and the fish was overcooked to the point that it tasted like microwaved chicken breast. Our entire group of 4 had stomach aches after the meal and ruined our trip. Don’t go to this place as there are clear hygienic problems and horrible waiter attitudes. 1 star for this place is already an overstatement for this restaurant, I would give 0 stars if possible. This restaurant is absolutely undeserving to serve customers.
Amazing food and the service was the friendliest I've experienced. Would absolutely recommend.
Horrible food, extremely rude waitresses, and very worrying hygiene conditions. The food was very average - pasta was not al dente; halibut was very overcooked and tasted like dry chicken breast; ingredients were lacking and not worth the price. Waitresses were very rude, and would just slam the plates and utensils on our table. Putting down dishes politely doesn’t take extra time, does it? If the above could be explained by being “extremely short staffed” as claimed on the poster they had on the door, shouldn’t a decent restaurant at the very least keep their food fresh? The four of us all had stomachache after the meal for two days straight after the meal, which totally ruined our trip. I’d give negative stars if that was an option. At the end of day, COVID shouldn’t be the excuse to overcharge for garbage food and services :)
Just ate here for lunch, the bill for 4 of us was $115 + tip and we were very disappointed. Lobster was dry, turkey from the hot turkey sandwich tasted like Campbell's chicken noodle soup meat, really strong garlic butter taste on the side of veggies(kinda gross) and the burger wasnt good either. For these prices I expected much better. The presentation of the food was decent though.
I had such an awesome time and the food was spectacular!
Found this place along the road to the Keltic Lodge. Good food and service.
Great quality food, probably the best in the area for a good dinner. Seafood chowder is excellent, the blackened salmon was cooked perfectly, the shrimp and scallop salad was tasty (but only had 1 scallop). We went on a Friday night, it was busy. But everyone was working hard to serve people and get people seated. Yes you might wait a bit, but it's not as bad as other reviews make it out to be. Get a beer and relax on the patio.
The Steak I ordered was cooked just right, the waiter was courteous and the homemade deserts were exceptional!
Great lobsters! Homemade baked stuff is even greater! Loved raisin bread pudding!
Let me tell you about you about my dinner experience at this place. It was terrible. It started off nicely enough we got sat on the nice outside deck. Then we sat for 15 minutes and not one server said a word to us. Eventually I called over the woman who sat us (I think the owner) and asked her to send us a server. She apologized and said she would. So then someone did stop by and took our order and brought us some waters. 1.5 hours pass, we do not see or hear from our server in this time at all. Not exaggerating. Finally our seafood pasta dishes arrive at our table both of us dining got the same dish. It is stacked with lobster and mussels and by this point I am famished so I start digging in. The mussels are 80% stone cold and the garlic bread is as well...cold enough the garlic butter on top is not melted in even. Then once I dig my way down to find the pasta I discover the sauce has been kind of poured on it but half the noodles are naked so I at least start mixing it in the sauce. Once I take a bite it is pretty much tasteless so I had to add a good bunch of salt and pepper just to find it worth eating. This pasta dish also came with a $30 price tag so not an overly inexpensive experience. So my rating is 1 Star don’t bother save the 2 hours of your life making better choices.
Favourite restaurant in Cape Breton! Tempeh tacos are the best I've ever had (please never get rid of them!!) and the honey jalapeño fries.. INCREDIBLE. Always great service & a busy spot. We tell everyone to make sure to visit! Can't wait to come back!
Our family went for breakfast. My sister had the french toast which was good but my brother and myself had gotten the Eggs Benedict. While the hash browns were good that was about it. The sauce tasted off, so much so that we had scraped it off. Wasnt worth the price for what we got. Would recommend the french toast though.
Beware of this tourist trap! I had the misfortune of eating dinner at this restaurant on October 6 2019. The steak and lobster was one of the worst I've ever had. The steak, touted as a tenderloin, probably C grade beef, was tasteless and the lobster was old and microwaved. My dates seafood pasta was terrible, sauce was bland and the seafood tasted old and microwaved. Worst seafood in Cape Breton!
Wonderful place, tasty food and friendly staff. Patio is dog-friendly. Hash browns at breakfast are absolutely amazing. Both takeout and dine-in experience was superb. Our #1 choice along the Cabot Trail.
Stopped in for dessert and coffee . We noticed there were very few desserts for a bakery but figured we would find something tasty. Service was beyond slow . It wasn't very busy so how long can it take to get three pieces of pie ?!? A very long time as it turns out . The blueberry pie was ok but not worth $5.95 , and the strawberry/ rhubarb was awful . Zero flavor , a weird texture to the thickener in the filling and the bottom crust was so soggy it was total mush . Totally unimpressed .
Awesome food! Seafood wrap for 12.95, swordfish +sides 22.95, fish burger 5.95, all very delicious and worth the money. Highly recommend this restaurant. Service was OK, but could be a little more attentively.
Was in for a light lunch, wasn't too busy. Waitress was very attentive. Did not buy anything at the bakery, but there was a steady stream of customers that were, so safe to say it must be very good.
I highly recommend you stop here!!! This cute little restaurant is the perfect place to visit for either coffee and a snack or for a meal. The staff are so friendly and the service was awesome. We had the best scones and almond bars and the coffee outside on the patio was just what we needed. Oh - and the beer was the best on the Island! This is a place we will remember on our trip to Cape Breton.
