One of the best coffees I've had in a while. Great space.

katie campbell

Good coffee and treats. Great atmosphere and decor.

Nick Gouthro

Had an amazing experience at the Glitter Bean. Wonderful service, great food and drinks. I had the cheese and green onion scone, which is huge, and it was delicious. I also got the Fairy Latte, and it was very good, though it was more about the fancy sparkles. My companions both had the sour cherry lemonade, one flat, one fizzy and both were simply amazing. Will definitely be back to the Glitter Bean!

The place is a bit run down and the staff haven't been particularly friendly or accomodating during the three visits I've made. This Cafe's staff culture doesn't appear to be customer oriented. The coffee itself was ok, however, better is available at many places in HRM. I think it's very important to support local businesses and be respectful of other people, however, I can achieve both of those personal goals at other locally owned Halifax coffee houses. I won't be going to the Glitter Bean Cafe anymore.

Casual comfortable meeting place from solitary coffee stops to small meetings. Great drink and snack options.

Where else can you find a fabulous fairy latte but at Glitter Bean? I love mine with almond milk. Also, the upstairs deck is a hidden gem, I didn’t discover that it was open until this week!

Great cafe on Spring Garden Rd. Staff is great and atmosphere is relaxed and cool. Baked sweets are delicious and coffee is excellent. Great spot for meeting friends.

Daniel MacKay

The coffee was alright but the staff asks you how much you want to tip out loud, giving minimum 15% which is really unpleasant and make people feel forced into it. I myself always tip but prefer not to be pushed

Larry Baxter

One of the best cappucinos in town. And the building itself is hella charming. The ready made pastries often disappoint, so order with caution.

David Knox

I love the concept of this place - it has all the literature I would ever want to peruse plus good selection of drinks and snacks.

Schuyler Smith

Really great and friendly staff, with great and fair prices.

David Robson

Lise Danielle Theriault

They know their coffee here and their beans come from just us, a Nova Scotian roaster that uses ethically sourced beans. The building interior is comfortable but definitely has become run down over the years as a coffee shop. The floors and upstairs need the most updating.

John Sheppard

Love it here. Great, simple cafe with friendly staff and always a unique drink to be had. Thank you for being different from the rest! ????

Haligonian HFX

I love this place and these people so much. Service and atmosphere are delightful.

James Whitehead

I love the place, but the acoustics in the big room are not amenable to business meetings.

Ryan

One of the few places in Halifax I feel safe. Strong coffee, strong vibes of friendship and strong owners and workers. Love this place with all of my heart.

I like this place. I hate the automatic tip.

Debra Perry

Go here , get a Latte , stay a while ????

Caden Hebb

Coffee was pretty good but nothing special. Customer service wasn't great. Staff was not very friendly or welcoming and they were more interested in their own conversation than in making the customers feel welcome. Also, there were faceplates missing from the electrical sockets... Pretty sure that's a fire hazard

Nick Rudnicki

Small selection of baking. Staff act like they hate being there.

Sam Gillett

Got a muffin and coffee on a nice day

Good coffee and my son loved his hot chocolate. Nice ambience and liked the art gallery inside as well. Noticed they have vegan food options as well, will definitely share info about this place.

Great atmosphere, coffee and food. Entertaining Open Mic as well.

Adorable coffee shop in the spring garden area. The service was good with great recommendations on product. There is a sitting area inside also with proof of vaccination. I ordered the Fairy Latte and it was full of flavours. I recommend this stop if you’re looking for a hot beverage or pastry.

The ganache used for the mochaccinos could be of better quality. There is so much potential here I am disappointed in the atmosphere. With nothing special to make you want to come back it’s not much of an attraction. Lacking any pazazz.

One of the few truly safe and welcoming spaces for LGBTQ+ people, and allies, to gather for delicious fair-trade coffee or snacks or community events. As a worker-owned co-op, you can also feel good that no workers were abused or underpaid in the making of your glittery latté. Heck, that's a coffee I will always stand behind. ♡ Please check out this spunky new cafe and the beautiful souls who own and run it!

Bill M

Fantastic staff! The interior is cute, the menu is amazing, I mean look at those colourful glittery drinks. Amazing safe space for the community and shows us another way is possible outside of capitalism and exploitation.

This is a beautiful cafe. Pink walls and incredibly spacious. You can add colour and glitter to every beverage for a small fee and I love this. It makes your beverage a little more fun. Pixie lattes, if you will. My sister and I both tried the Fairy Latte, a rooibos tea latte with vanilla, colour and glitter. So fun and tasty.

Emma S.

Definitely one of my favourite cafes in the city. The moment you walk into Glitter Bean you feel warm and welcome. On display are crafts and prints from local artisans that range from tiny felted creatures to reusable sanitary pads. The Co-operative Owners have created such an amazing space. They carry Just-Us coffees and teas, they make a good amount of their own syrups, the baked goods they carry are perfection. Glitter Bean is in a great location, close to Dalhousie and the IWK & VG, so it seems steady at all hours. Thank you Glitter Bean for being awesome!

A fantastic range of beverages! Even a bunch for non-coffee drinkers! Including Tea Lattes, with one of the biggest list of teas I've seen. Local food for snacking. Cheerful but homy atmosphere, and an incredibly friendly staff. Especially for an opening day rush. Highly recommended!!

This is a review from my experience from summer 2018. Love the business concept of creating a safe place for Haligonians. But, how in the right mind of any business owner does one allow their staff to wear belly shirts?! The counter attendant had their navel touching the counter! I blame the entire Halifax food establishment standard that has completely negated the concept of professional work attire.

Nice place, Fairy latte tasted like fairies.

Pethrona Russell

Non-gendered washrooms, great atmosphere, adorable Instagram posts. Hands down the best PSL I've ever had.

Such a beautiful place with friendly workers. Come out and show some support!

Jon Grove

Nice open space downstairs and cozy up. The vibe is sweet <3

Patrick K

I wanted to see how this place was compared to the days when it was called Just Us. Seems pretty much the same other than some fresh paint. Although the new staff is friendly and their menu is nice. I had a chai latte which was tasty but could have been a bit more hot.

This is an lgbt-friendly cafe with a ton of space for seating and reasonably-priced drinks. The artsy co-op vibe is really nice, and it feels friendlier and more secluded than some nearby alternatives. Love the variety of tea options!

Glitter Bean has the best coffee I have had in Halifax so far & it feels great to be in an environment that is LGBTQ2SIA-safe. Great place with a rich history.

Can't say enough good things. They had a little play area for my toddler, are one of the only coffee shops on the peninsula with high chairs, they have change tables and the drinks and snacks are delicious with good selection. Prices are equivalent to other similar coffee shops. Love the union support, the coop model and the LGBT+/BIPOC friendly environment.

Ron Reid

What a quaint place. Takes you to a peaceful happy place. Open Mic was an amazing display of talent.

Cara Plant

You can’t go in to this pro segregation cafe to get a coffee and food TO GO. Shame on you for turning away people based on vaccination status. You’ll never get a dollar of mine as long as I live!!!!

Lynn Liao

Great space for meetings or just getting work done. Plus they have beautiful looking lattes- Instagram worthy.

This place is an amazing coffee shop centered aroung celebrating the LGBT community and providing a safe space. Their drinks and food are delicious, their wall decorations are beautiful, they support local artistists by displaying and selling their work, and they host various events for places like the youth project.

Pleasant, locally-owned cafe. Good coffee, common hangout for academics from Dalhousie's Carleton campus.

I very much enjoyed the service and the beverages. They have lactose/dairy free options for your drinks; almond, soy, oat, and lactose free milk. They also carry Just Us! coffee beans that you can purchase, and goods from other local businesses. I can't remember which ones though. They do have snacks and meals, but I'd say it's lighter faire, and some gluten free snacks.

Continuously love the service, the food, and the drinks here. Great environment, wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, and way better hot chocolate than Starbucks or Tim's, my old go-to. Cannot recommend this place enough! Please support this lovely local business

Laura Pelton

It's cute. I like the vibe. Old heritage property converted into a cozy little cafe. Was here on a nice summer day by the open window and a perfect summer breeze coming in refreshing.

Robert Drisdelle

Cozy little café. Loves their creativities.

Pretty McKinnon

It's welcoming and cozy. Looks nice and has delicious peanut butter cups.

Evelyn Chong

Great coffee and great concept for a coffee shop! The service is always great, there are usually some cute locally-made crafts for sale, and there's tons of seating between the two floors. As far as I know, there is no accessible entrance with at least a couple stairs to go up both outside and inside the building.

I love it here! Decent lattes! The staff seemed a little bit confused sometimes but they are a new business! This business is 100% worth your support. You can purchase art from local lgbt artists and they are also using it to put on concerts from local bands.

This place is the best. It is a community space, a cafe, an art gallery, and a haven from a sometimes challenging and complex world. Love the staff and the folks who go. I also love that is run cooperatively.
