I find their service there is slow and I always have to call someone at the coffee bar to make a coffee. Always have to wait and soon after have to wait again at the cashier to pay. Their espresso is low quality and always burnt. I also think the place is not very clean and I have found expired products and bought Italian risottoand there were little white worms in the bag.. Needs more loving care and upgrades.

This bakery, deli, mini mart, is a neighborhood staple. They have hot food if you're hungry or some grocery if wanna make it yourself. The star of this place is their home made Gelato. I can't fully describe how amazing their Gelato is. You'll just have to come and try yourself. If anything, I can describe it as very smooth and almost ice cream like. Those characteristics actually make their gelato something to come and visit for. Their pretty cheap, too! Had the pistachio which the server recommend. I also had their veal sandwich. Both were amazing. Truly 5 stars. They also have a rich history for the curious mind.

Rustic Bakery is my family's go-to bakery. All of our family celebrations include one of Rustic's delicious cakes as well as their great selection of pastries and breads. Everything is fresh and authentic and their customer service is fantastic. At the beginning of the pandemic I couldn't find flour anywhere, and when I asked the front cash if they had any left the employee asked the bakery to fill a bag for me. Always a returning, happy customer!

I ordered for a frozen themed cake for my child's birthday and the design I chose was fairly simple, the end product was amazing. They had gone above and beyond and there was a lot of attention even in the smallest things like the color of cake tray. The icing looked divine. The cake also tasted sublime, it was moist and loaded with hazelnuts. Thank you so much for the amazing service! Their cannolis deserve a special mention as well. Loved my experience with the place, will definitely visit again to try other things.

The deserts are out of the world and coffee is amazing. When you come here you feel you are transported to a small sweet quaint place in Italy surrounded by sports fan watching football (for North Americans - soccer and for rest of the world football !) on tv and sipping coffee. Well hidden gem! Difficult to access, and doesn't look like much outside or in, but it's definitely worth the trip. As far as the vibe, it is the antithesis of the glossy modern chain coffee shops and bakeries. As far as the food, it trounces all others we have had in this category. We sampled the gelato, baked sweets, breads, and were astounded that it consistently scored 10's everywhere. It is cramped and a disheveled inside, but this adds to the authentic feel of the place. Despite this, the staff are friendly and efficiently move people though this busy place. There is also a hot food bar at the back, and if we hadn't already eaten lunch, we would have tried that too. Definitely going back and reluctantly sharing this secret with others in the future. They have several tables set up out front and also some more under their awning, which really helped today with the rain. TIP: Try the olive and peppers bread. You can thank me later.

Had to pick up something at the local variety store in the same plaza and decided to drop into the bakery. It had been years since I walked into the bakery. However my parents had just moved into the neighbourhood and I wanted to buy some pastries to bring home to my wife. You know the signs of a good Italian bakery when the locals are having espresso outside sitting in the cold. Walking into the store, the selection of cake and pastries was impressive. Ordered a few cannolis, a couple of sfogliatelle and a couple of butter tarts. They were all amazing. I am usually picky about cannolis. Some bakeries over-bake the shells or get the ricotta filling wrong. Not here. The cannolis were a perfect combination of light crispy shell and ricotta filling. The sfogliatelle (lobster tails) had perfect layers of pastry that was extremely flaky. As for the butter tarts, the shell was nice and buttery and the filling was not overly sweet or oozing all over the place. I know that I will be dropping into the bakery more often for an espresso and try some biscotti before ordering a box of pastries to go.

I heard great things about this bakery so I wanted to give it a try. I speak only about the pastries department. The mini “caramel donuts” had a pinch of Carmel and custard inside? I purchased an assortment that I bought over for a dinner party. Embarrassed because I purchased 3 butter tarts that tasted and looked exactly like the ones she purchased from a grocery chain store. The sofigliatele tasted outdated. The whole set up was confusing when I asked the person that was packing my order behind the bakery counter for certain prices she told me “I don’t know they will know at the main register” I gave it a 3 star because there is more that the bakery has to offer that I didn’t try like the hot table / deli / fresh bread and isle food products.

This morning we went in and bought croissants and a box of pasteries. The croissants and canoli were delicious but every other pasrty in the box was inedible. The oreo and regular cheese cakes tasted sour. The 2 bombe were stale, the cream in the sospiri was hard! You can tell these were NOT freshly made!! I'm shocked a bakery would sell stale and old Pastries. Extremely disappointed AND WILL NEVER RETURN

Best bakery and deli in town. Great variety of breads. Very fresh. They have buns with grilled vegetables baked every day. They are a must try. It's basically a supermarket as well and a deli. You can get anything you want there but fresh meat. They serve food, cafe, cakes and pastry, bread, dry foods, cold cuts and more. You can seat and have a fine Italian coffee there

Ordered the ricotta and spinach lasagna and the meat lasagna for a work luncheon. Amazing melt in your mouth goodness. Best lasagna ever! The olive bread and veggie bread was a big hit too.

I bought a veal sandwich to go. The veal was cold. I only live 10 minutes from there so it couldn't of gotten that cold on the way home. I tried to heat the veal in the microwave but that just ruined the veal. I will never go back there. They call that a "Hot Table". More like a tray they just took out of the fridge.

This was a wonderful Italian gem to find. Once again it brings me back to my childhood days with my grandparents and my parents going to small Italian bakeries and cafes and gelaterias. I always appreciate being able to speak Italian to somebody serving me Italian pastries cappuccinos and sandwiches. I would recommend this place unhesitantly to anybody who would like a little taste of a family run establishment providing taste treats you're not going to find in many places.

It's the first time I have been to Rustic bakery. It was recommended by very good friends. I ordered a communion cake for my daughter, it was amazing. Everyone loved it. I called and spoke to Francesco about my order a few days before I had to pick up my cake, I had some concerns about the rum cake because I had tried one from another bakery and it was awful. He reassured me my cake was going to be great and it was amazing. Thank you Francesco. He was very nice and helpful over the phone. Great customer service. Rustic bakery will be my go to bakery for all my cakes and bread, oh my goodness the bread, but that's another story.

Very convenient location and the pastry selection was great. I loved the eclairs. I arrived around 4pm so there was no food left at the hot table. Disappointing! The pastry girl was polite but the woman that wrapped up our purchase at the cash was not polite No eye contact! Barely said hi to us. Either way I'd return for a pastry here and there.

Been going here for years. High quality imported Italian products/groceries. Espresso bar and hot table. (Hot table food is amazing and lots of veggies) Deli and bakery. They do amazing custom cakes and ice cream cakes. GELATO is outstanding and lots of selection/flavors. They have macaroons, cake pops, all sorts of sweets, cakes and pies. Check out their ig account..Always busy but pleasant experience. Sitting area inside but not functional now due to covid. Love this place for birthday cakes. Amazing service .

I have been going to rustic bakery for some time now. However, my last experience with them was a HUGE disappointment. I came in for cold cuts just the basics (ham and cheese). I am still unsure whether this is OLD cheese? DRY cheese? And if it's even healthy to consume??? Also, their customer service is horrible. I always find myself waiting for someone to come and help me with some bread (even if you are the only person in line). NEW BAKERY: I found a hidden gem nearby which I will be going to now. EL GAUCHO is an Argentinian bakery and it is only 5 minutes away (Jane and Wilson area). They have fresh pastries every morning (a must-try for Dulce de Leche lovers!) They also have fresh cold cuts, and bread.They also specialize in Argentine-style meat cuts. Their customer service is amazing. They have 2 employees behind counters taking orders non-stop.

I have been going to Rustic weekly recently mainly for the bread (vegetable is the best). So far the experience has been really good. However, one experience might be worth noting for other customers. They close at 8pm on Sunday. I hurried in at 7:40pm to get cold cuts for the week, only to encounter a very upset young girl (because I came at 7:40). I should have went to metro at this point. As she is slicing the first choice of meat she turns over her shoulder and asks do I need anything else. She finishes with the first and takes the second meat I choose and then asks again, do I need anything else because we are closing. I was told a few times that they were closing. This experience has made me wonder if this is the sort of customer service I want to be dealing with. I almost felt like telling her she needs to be more appreciative of her job working during this pandemic. Or I might just continue to go early morning as I normally do because the staff in the morning are so pleasant on Sunday.

Don’t waste you time! I ordered a cake and asked for blue flowers and the cake arrived with white flowers. I told them to put my sons name Benjamin on it and said Benjamim. How embarrassing! $350 I wasted on incompetent people who were so rude they give so much attitude. Maybe invest your attitude into learning how to spell names. When I complained, the pastry chef said well, I thought white would match your theme. He complained that those white flowers are so expensive, I said that is irrelevant I never asked for them. He said I don’t care what you think is irrelevant because that cost me money. If you want respect and someone to make a cake they way you want it go somewhere else. He gave me so much attitude, his mother owns the bakery so he thinks he can talk to customers in a disgusting way. Victoria was also really rude she can’t deal with customers to save her life. He told me he would give a great deal next time, here is a tip there will be no next time! There are so many bakeries that respect my business I don’t need to be treated like garbage to get a discount. - looks like kids writing and half the beads fell off and were all sideways …disaster! The reply speaks for itself Victoria. You are rude. If you did your job well, I would have the proper spelling on the cake and blue flowers like I asked. You wouldn’t here blasting me on a review with attitude once again.

Nestled primarily in a European neighbourhood everyone from near and far come here for the fresh bread, a hot table with all the amenities and loads of fresh pastries fill the display windows. Enough said if your in the neighbourhood try them out and try a little bit of everything you have to offer they will have you coming again or telling your friends all about it.

Worst cake I had in life is from RUSTIC BAKERY . When I went to complain they told for us the cake is okay. They told its chocolate cake but I can't see any chocolate. And there was too much water inside which make bad smell. Don't go on their reviews as most of them are there employee reviews. Following for reply your so called employee told this is chocolate cake. But there is no chocolate inside. Secondly I entered store and talked with your employee and she called your baker from inside. I had seen wet cakes but have never seen cake from which water is coming out.

This past weekend, decided to get a Tiramisu cake for my father’s birthday last minute on a weekend afternoon. First of all, the staff at the counter were very fast and efficient. I was surprised there was a Tiramisu cake left, as when we dug into it, it was mouthwateringly delicious, my whole family was raving about it. Had a bit left over and the next day was even better somehow! Moist and delicious. No more store-bought cake or cakes from any other bakery from now on! Very satisfied, you have a returning customer :)
