This Bakery is classified in the category of Patisserie.
Wanted to try a kouign amann but they were all out as I came at the end of the day. Had an almond croissant and pain au chocolat instead and they were both delicious! Crispy, flaky and buttery with so many layers.
Highly recommended! Authentic French bread and pastry. Delicious! So rare to find in Toronto.
Glad that you are in my life now!
Delicious bakery! We love their treats and appreciate all they do for the community.
Amazing Raspberry Croissant, decent Pain au Chocolate (needs more chocolate obviously like everyone), drinkable coffee. Haven't tried their other goods yet but homemade to go Ice Cream flavours looked enticing
Marvelous
Delicious treats and incredible service! Always feels like home. Thank you Gouter team for creating such a special unique experience for your customers
All their items are gourmet and the people who work there are soo friendly!
Amazing pastries, wonderful owners. I love coming for tasty treats and want to thank you for helping support our city's most vulnerable during the pandemic. For anyone who doesn't know, Gouter donates a lot of food to Seeds of Hope to be distributed to Toronto's unhoused.
Purely fantastic! The pastries are delicious and the customer service is top notch. I will be returning!
This place recently opened and it's incredible! Owner is super sweet, too. Definitely recommend checking this place out.
ALWAYS ALWAYS A PLEASUREFUL EXPERIENCE IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT.
Best kouign amann I’ve ever had....and I’ve had them all!
Love the quality of the olive loaf . Tasty and delicious. Toast it and try with olive oil and fresh mazorella cheese
Great pastries and breads, super nice staff. Looking forward to seeing them at the Farmer's market in Castleknock
Super good everything there is so fresh love it!!
Best. Pastries. Ever.
They have a promo in the summer, every Thursday from 5pm. It's a Buy-1-Get-1 Promo!! And it's the perfect time and place to meet up with friends after work!! We work at Baycrest (1min away) and Gouter Thursdays has been a tradition for us now!! Baycrest employees also get an employee discount!! <3 So imagine having two scoops of luxury flavoured ice cream (e.g. butter tart, cinnamon bun, chocolate marshmallow, dulce de leche, etc.) at only approx $3.50!!!
Yummy baked goods and always fresh!
High quality, hard to find baked goods/ice cream/pre-made meals. Nice people and hard working. A little expensive but well worth it. Would give them 6 stars if I could!
Awesome bakery!!
Their regular and almond croissants are the best I have had in toronto!
Decided to go try this place for the sole purpose that they said that they make the best Nutella croissant in the city. Overall it was good could have put more Nutella in the croissant. Clean service was good service
Surprisingly tasty !!! Pastries...About to try the soup as well :)
Lough Amman. That is on the top of the list. This place almost never disappoints.
High quality French pastry and chocolate made on the premise.
Ordered first time their Birthday Cake & Cookie Explosion ice cream and daaaaaaaamn did that hit the spot on gourmet ice cream!! Only recommendation is to add more cake pieces but aside from that it was great!
Super tasty treats and the staff was friendly. I'd definitely go back. Thank you!
I had their breakfast croissant and Kouign Amann both of which were amazing. Price is also decent and not too expensive especially for the extremely high quality of pastries you can get
Unbelievable pastries and fantastic customer service!! I need all of the treats ????
Must try for any sweet tooth out there ????
Amazing food and service. Very cute personal touches! I would support them again!
I love the friendly staff. The croissants are delicious. They also have madeleines and mousse cakes. I've got to try the cookies and the spinach croissant next time. The cheese croissant looks good too.
Delicious and amazing pastry!!
Wonderful food and service, a real find - worth the trip.
We love Goûter - they are the most generous people, and their treats have been an important part of both small indulgences and bigger celebrations for us. Their viennoiserie is of course delicious, but the custom work they do and the beautiful holiday gifts they make are second to none. Be sure to check out their freezer for excellent tourtieres and thing to take home and enjoy later. Recommend them highly!
The Paris-Brest, a French classic pastry that requires a lot of technique, is executed perfectly and as good - if not better - than in the best places in Paris. Can’t wait to try other products, the Pastry Chef is a master!
Nice French speaking staff. Great bread.
Everything is made fresh and some of best ice I've ever had!! Must try!!
What a joy to discover this traditional French pâtisserie and bakery right down the street from where I live. After living in Paris for a couple of years and getting used to walking to my local boulangerie, I didn't think that I would ever find this in Toronto. But find it I did, at Goûter that opened up on Bathurst a few months ago. The croissants, pain au chocolat and pain au raisin were perfectly flaky and fresh. By far the "most authentic" that I have found in Toronto (and I have tried a number of French bakeries on Avenue, Yonge, Bayview and Mt. Pleasant in North York). I didn't get a chance to try the baguettes yet (the real litmus test), but I will certainly go back. The confectionery and home-made icecream look delicious, and they have an amazing looking espresso machine that I definitely want to try. All-in-all, a great experience for a newly opened store on Bathurst. I will do my best to help it stay around. -------- OK, I just went back to try the fresh baguette (actually more like a French "tradition" with a harder crunchy crust and a chewy, rather than the soft fluffy inside of a baguette), and it was fantastic. Seriously. I am upping my review to 5 stars. Oh happy day!
Incredible pastries, gelato and more! A must visit!
In French, "goûter" is the verb for "to taste", and everything I've had so far at Goûter was definitely tasty. The interior smells of the fresh butter they use in their boulangerie, so entrancing! My significant other and I shared their Piña Colada gelato (especially amazing), Banana Chocolate Caramel gelato, Pain au chocolate (très bon!!), Almond croissant (though I think I prefer the filling at Amadeus and Nadege), Kouign-amann (MUST-HAVE, buttery sugary crispy fluffy goodness originating in Brittany, France), Tarte au chocolat (not as rich as I'd hoped), and a super crunchy French baguette (too crunchy for my tastes but I would still repurchase) that we used to make a couple sandwiches at home. There's a market across the road and a No Frills just North at Wilson where you can pick up toppings to make your own delights. The shopkeeper was very polite and definitely has a strong knowledge of French patisserie. She let us sample their new scones - buttery, a bit cheesy, and fluffy, yet with a firm crust, we'll have to get some next time! From what I've seen, they also allow you to pick up frozen Pain au chocolat (and perhaps other items) that you can proof and bake in your own kitchen! I asked about when they usually sell out of their baked goods, and apparently every day is different. If you are worried, you can order in the morning and then pick up your items by the end of the day. They really care not to over-produce so that they don't waste food, and so that their products are always fresh out of the oven. I was really impressed when the shopkeeper said that they make everything themselves, nothing from other stores. Verdict: Definitely one of the best patisseries in the city. We'll definitely be back to try their other products and repurchase our favourites! Looking forward to trying some chocolates, eclairs, and more pastries!
French bakery at its finest. I love the quality here
Rodney and his team is incredible. Should you need a cake, bread, croissant, ice cream or chocolate - this is the place. They are super friendly - highly recommended!
Best croissants in the city. The first time I bought an almond croissant, it literally didn’t make it to the car. Cakes are wonderful, service is great and my kid has been begging for that enormous challah bread that keeps selling out before we get there.
We've tried baguettes, sour dough bread, croissants (plain, raspberry and Nutella), cinnamon rolls and everything was sooo yummy.
They are an excellent patisserie and viennoiserie. However, their ice cream and sorbets are to die for.
I've tried croissants from many of the Patisserie's across the city, and Gouter's doubled baked almond croissants beat them all. Not to mention, all the desserts at Gouter are absolutely delicious… seriously mouth-watering.
Amazing bakery cafe that has delicious soups and parbaked goodies to take home.
You can order and pickup in your local area! Mom and I discovered them at a local farmers market and on the last day, they told us that we can place an order online. Then we can pickup our order on a Friday between 6-7 pm. I noticed online that they have other pick up locations too!! I urge people to take advantage of this service. Support local businesses!!! Their flaky pastries are awesome. They make croque monsieurs too ❤️. I just wish they'll make palmiers...
Beautiful croissants. To make things easier order the frozen ones AND make them at home!
Always fantastic, a must visit spot in Toronto. The kougn Amman is amazing. Also love getting the frozen croissants to make at home, such a treat!
Keep up the great work you do!
Great pastries!
Always great food
Lovely viennoiserie. Takeout only right now. Pro-tip: get the rarely seen (in Toronto) Kouign Aman. They do it right here.
Hidden gem in Yorkdale with authentic French pastries by an authentic French chef. Inside this unassuming old strip on Bathurst Street, Gouter lies amongst a cluster of Jewish specialty stores. But Gouter is anything but kosher; in a good way of course (for those of us who aren't OJ at least). "Goûter" is the French word for the verb "to taste", but to a native French speaker has many more connotations. One thing is for sure, you won't get a massively inflamed big toe from anything you eat here (Disclaimer: gout flares aren't ever funny). You may have heard of Chef Rodney Alleguede (RA) from "Ma Maison" fame in Etobicoke where he was head pastry chef for over a decade before venturing out on his own to follow his creative ambitions. Thank God he did! His passion is in chocolate; his truffles to die for. But have you had his authentic Parisian macarons, tarts, and cakes? The difference in quality will be apparent to you immediately. High grade ingredients in the hands of a professional with true genius. Pasteries and breads are baked fresh every day. The chef is always on premises to answer any questions. He also gladly drops everything to personally consult with you on custom orders, helps plan out catering and even does ANY size custom cakes. He should be a florist as well since he clearly knows how to incorporate fresh flowers into his art. When I don't have time to go to France, this is the next best thing. I will go there on weekends from Oakville. Worth the trip everytime. He will par-bake anything so you can take it home. Store these goodies in your freezer for those chilly winter nights when you want to make a baguette in your own oven, in the comfort of your home. Make sure you grab some croissants as well. Enjoy both with Chef Alleguede's savory and rich pate, all made in house. Buy extra, or you'll find yourself scraping the empty jar wishing you had more... Not a good scene. You must try the chocolate croissants and eclairs. Buttery and warm with smooth cocoa to compliment. When chocolate and pasteries meet, Chef Alleguede shines. I wish he would hire a sommelier to pair some red wines in house. If this happens, I might rent the place upstairs. Also, they make their own ice cream in house from fresh cream. You can request flavors, or even buy a whole tub to indulge at home. The Barista serves fresh ground and pressed coffee, which makes this an unbeatable place to stop by first thing in the morning. The coffee is amazingly strong French roast that begs to be consumed with something sweet and rich. Wonder where we could find that? Do yourself a favour... Matter fact, do DJ Khaled a favour... Go check out Gouter and taste something different and special. Anyways, diabetes can kiss my tarte tatin!
The best Kouign Amann in Toronto. The owners are lovely and their chefs are all trained in classic French pastry so the quality is exceptional. Traditional breads, éclairs, vienoiseries, fresh sorbet and ice cream, excellent quality coffee, and you can custom order just about anything you want. At lunch time they also serve sandwiches on fresh baked breads and they can make chocolate dragees and pralines in custom colours and flavours for corporate events and weddings.
Good French pastries
Must try the kouigh amann, so buttery and delicious
The coffee was ok but you must try the Kouign-Amann! It was really good!
Amazing amazing amazing boulangerie! Everything is fresh and delicious!
I have lived in France, so I LOVE pastries and breads etc.......this place is seriously AMAZING....seriously GO GO GO NOW !!! Heaven in every bite
We had never tried Gouter before, but after a recommendation from a coworker to try it we decided to give it a go. It was great! The pastries were delectable and delicious, the cakes had us scraping every last bit off the plate, and the soups were a fantastic (and quick) meal on a nice cool day. We ordered a number of frozen meals as well, and while we're still working our way through them, we have enjoyed everything that we've tried so far. If you haven't had a chance, you should definitely put in an order!
Best baked goods I ever had. My son and me we really enjoyed it. Thank you. It's addictive ????
Their raspberry croissants are BOMB. End of story. Their coffee is pretty good. When you used to ask for quiche they would cut a slice from a large quiche pie. That quiche is DELICIOUS! Now they give you a personal quiche, and that one is actually kind of gross. Get the big quiche! Their other pastries are also good. Five stars for the raspberry croissant, though.
Amazing place.
HANDS DOWN BEST PATISSERIE IN TORONTO! Everything we have tried has been absolutely amazing, so fresh and delicious.
Really nice pastries here, I like their kouign amanns and filled croissants. I also really like their house made gelato. I often think about their green apple gelato which tasted like fresh fruit. I would definitely go more often if they were closer to me.
I feel like I'm kind of rounding up here, I would've given this spot a 3.5. The cruffin and kouign-amann were absolutely amazing, but I was so let down by the almond croissant and danish. I pre-ordered ahead of time, but had I seen them beforehand, I likely wouldn't have spent the money. The danish had a hole in the pastry, as if it had stuck to the pan while baking and the bottom had just ripped off (I shared it with my family and everyone was disappointed) - I think grocery store ones are better than this for a fraction of the price! And the croissant was pretty lacklustre, not flaky and full of filling like other croissants. That being said, I think this is a good spot to check out for their famous kouign-amann, which was super tasty and the cruffin was perfectly flaky and loaded with a delicious cream filling!
Hidden in a plaza on a fairly nondescript portion of Bathurst St. are the best croissants and pastries. Delicious, flaky, buttery goodness! Totally worth the trip if you are not from this part of town.
The best baked goods, ever!
Fantastic bakery! Delicious pastries!
Interesting selection
Amazing pastries! Make sure you try their famous raspberry croissants! Their ice cream is delicious and every Thursday nights in the summer it's BOGO Scoops!!!
Incredibly yummy baked goods. Croissants and cruffins are great. Also, don’t sleep on the ice cream.
You walk into Goûter and you simply do not know where to look first! Then again, the smells of fresh bread, butter, chocolate pure bliss. I love all the selections of great food. Everything from take out meals and soups to filled croissants, stunning baking and chocolates. I bought a little of everything but always my go to’s are perfect baguettes, a proper croissant filled with ham and bechamel, a fruit danish and of course a tiny cake. Please follow @joannasable on instagram for more food and travel.
Everything I have tried here has been very tasty. The croissants are some of the best in the city.
I love croissants. Their double baked chocolate croissant is out of this world. I tell people to come here all the time. ????????????
I stopped by Gouter at 830 in the morning after my run and the staff were super friendly. I ordered the $15 mystery box and was very happy at the products I received. They packed a kouign amann, a raspberry croissant and some sweets. Everything tasted heavenly. Their products are just the right amount of sweetness, even the fruit pate and caramel bars are perfect. The kouign amann was luxurious, super buttery and flaky with bits of crunchy crystalized sugar on the outside. I'm definitely stopping by more often for these treats.
I was so excited to find out that there was a place uptown that baked and sold croissant - which I love and will travel downtown to find. And these croissant did not disappoint. They are among the best in the city and the croissant breakfast sandwich is delicious. Highly recommend!
Visited at a couple of events, including Trinity Bellwoods today. Staff were incredibly rude and helped other people before me, including the pastry I asked for which was the last one! Jerks.
The kouign Amman is worth trekking across the city for!!!!
I have tried Gouter pastries at events and finally I stopped by on the way to a friends in the area. Its a tiny shop but they have some fantastic baguettes. I got some frozen croissants and haven’t tried those yet but we picked up 3 Mimi desserts and a baguette and they were great. They were doing a contest but I forgot all about it distracted by the treats
We come here every weekend. Enough said.
Hands down the best kouign amann in Toronto - and I eat a lot them! ???? Flaky, buttery, salty, sweet, and very generously portioned. I live downtown but make a point of buying a couple whenever I am in the area. I got to speak to the baker at his stall at an Alliance Franchise exhibition and he definitely has an appreciation for quality ingredients. The proof is in the kouign amann.
Kouign-amann. GET IT. But then again, you can’t go wrong with anything from here.
Excellent croissants and cakes! The almond croissants and the raspberry croissants are particularly delicious.
Bought a bunch of pastries, coffee and a latte and everything was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend!
I love this place! I visit almost every day and try a different French pastry. Their ice cream and sorbet are so creamy! I wish there were places to sit, but they told me in a few months they would be expanding. Parking is tricky, you'll probably need the side streets. Definitely worth a visit.
Excellent European pastries and bread
One of the best local bakeries in Toronto. Amazing breads and pastries. If you only get one thing it has to be a kouign amann
amazing food
Honestly love all of the food. During Covid they've started making vacuum packed meals - my roommates and our favourites were the Coconut curried chicken with rice, pasta bolognese and the Ratatouille. The baked goods are beyond amazing - highly recommend the raspberry croissant, I ordered a bunch and every single person liked them. I will be ordering again!
Excellent french pastries! I liked the "pain au chocolat" (chocalate croissant-ish/ chocolatine). You must try the Kouign-Amann it is a sweet caramelised-ish croissant, a delicious surprised!
Absolutely delicious! Staff are lovely. I'll be back!
Absolutely fantastic Nutella croissant! Their other pastries look yummy too. Just discovered this place last Saturday, and went straight back on Sunday for more. Will definitely be back!
My favorite local bakery. Great French pastries.
Delicious, amazing cake! Exactly what we requested and ended up even better than we could have imagined. Very affordable and amazing for the price point and very helpful customer service. They even did delivery to downtown. Thank you again!
This place is excellent, delicious baked goods and wonderful service. Try it!
Brilliant pastries ! The Kouign-Amann is out of this world !
Food is great, service is quick and efficient, but don't get there too late in the day or all of the good stuff will be gone....... I would post a picture but the treats don't last long enough at my house when I come home with them. Will update with some next time. They are tad more expensive then other French bakerys but worth every penny.
They have Changed the recipe of their croissants and unfortunately it is no more a croissant !!! They are dry, no butter ! Very disappointed!
Great little place with the freshest baked goods!????
(Translated) Their pain au chocolat and croissant just taste as french ones. And to be fair that one of the only places in Toronto where it does! Small message for my fellow citizens, do not hesitate to stop here, the pastries are fresh and really good. (Original) Their pain au chocolat and croissant just taste as french ones. And to be fair that one of the only places in Toronto where it does ! Petit message pour mes concitoyens, n'hésitez pas à vous arrêtez ici, les viennoiseries sont fraîches et vraiment bonnes.
Stoped in to find a desert for a dinner party that same evening. We got an amazing mango mousse cake. Everyone at the dinner really enjoyed it. While we were there we also picked up some crossants and Coffee. Everything was excellent. We don’t go to Toronto often, but when we come again, we will be stopping by here to explore more of their deserts. So good!
Good food but I got the breakfast sandwich and the tomatoes did not look bad it had an awful taste as it must of started to go bad and you could smell it only on the tomato itself..i do not blame them for not noticing as you could not tell from looking at it..otherwise food was delicious.
I was fortunate enough to be in Toronto for a few days on a course for work. I thought I was swinging by to harass my cousin a little bit at her workplace but it turned out to be so much more; the ice cream, the Madeleines, the other things that I can't recall their proper name, the local sourced coffee........ I'll surely be back with my little lady this weekend for her ice cream fix. The circulation of your business cards has already begun! ;)
I wish i had something better to say about this authentically French bakery I was dying to try as a treat to my daughter, but my experience today was just plain awful. I am having a French-themed valentine's breakfast for my daughter. I ordered via DoorDash the 6-pack of macarons which, as you can see from the photo, should have been a fruity and colourful variety pack. Sounds perfect! Well I received 2 macarons with red tops and green bottoms, and the other 4 are all the same colour brown which means same flavour. I bit one and it had a strong gingerbread flavour. So green -and-red minty macarons and 4 gingerbread....ummmm hello, is anyone else thinking xmas leftovers being sold off in Feb?! So I contacted DoorDash and they took about 20 minutes to resolve this issue "with the restaurant", who agreed to do a redelivery of WHAT I PURCHASED, AS DESCRIBED. a 6-pack variety of sweet/fruity flavours, as listed (strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, hibiscus, lemon, pistachio). I received the EXACT. SAME. BOX of CHRISTMAS macarons that was sent the first time. For Valentine's Day. But also - if that's all you can offer because you overstocked on xmassy fillings in November and never sold them so possibly froze them and are reusing (my guess at what's happening here) - then update the DoorDash description - PLEASE!!!! It should have said "Box of 6 spiced and seasonal flavours". Then I could have made an informed decision NOT TO BUY. instead I was tricked - I asked for it to be made right - and I am left with this joke of a platter of 8 brown gingerbread macarons and 4 super ugly half-red and half-green macarons.
THE BEST pastries in Toronto! Always super fresh and super delicious ????!!!! Being pastry chef myself I can tell that these products are at the highest quality! Thank you ????!
Amazing French pastries at a very reasonable price considering the high quality. Koighn amann is fantastic.
They catered my sisters rehearsal brunch for her wedding. Most incredible pastries and incredibly friendly service!!
A real gem in an out of the way location. They have a beautiful array of french pastries, breads etc. as well as their own ice cream, sorbet & yogurt.
The best
The croissants are amazing!! The food is always fresh baked, ice cream is amazing quality and delicious. One of my family favs!!
Very good and tasty!!!
Just ordered from here after craving for chocolate croissants during these corona times. IN LOVE! Will be back!! My chocolate croissant was yum! I also got a sweet note from the store. Support local everyone! Thanks Gouter!
I'm so happy I visited this cafe, I just wish I knew about it sooner! The service is friendly and the owner seems genuine. The croissants (all flavours) are the best I've tried in the city. You can tell their technique is on point.
The best bakery in town run by some of the best people.
Great croissants and excellent customer service - was having an urgent need for mini muffins and they did them on the spot for me. This is great customer service and will definitively come back...
They have the best kougin amann in Toronto as well as the most filled double baked chocolate almond croissant you’ve ever had. Their pastries are fantastic .... like their weekly cruffin! Their cookies and gelato is amazing too. Gouter’s chocolate skills are amazing, perfectly even chocolate eggs for smashing made with great quality chocolate. If you think you’ve had them before, it’s because you probably have....they supply to many cafes in and around Toronto. Seriously this bakery donates bread, pastries and soup to charity weekly and that warms my heart. Head over to this location or find them in farmer’s markets throughout the summer till fall! Support your local businesses...especially the ones that try to support others during this trying time.
My husband and I are obsessed with their kouign amanns. The best we've had in the city. Love this bakery. We willingly make the drive for them even though we don't live close. Love. Love. Love.
Their croissant and almond croissant are good. Their raisin bread is absolutely delicious!
Gouter is incredible. We walk there every weekend to pick up croissants, breads, pastries and its a definite "look forward to" event to kick off the weekend. The food is great, delicious and we're looking forward to the ice cream this summer!
One of the most phenomenal bakeries of life! Fresh and beyond delicious. The staff and owners are exceptional, which makes it that much more wonderful a place. A must try, that never lets you down!
Paris brest was lip-smackingly good as well as the chocolate mocha ganache cake. The thin and crispy almond tuiles is also a great snack to munch on.
Hands down the best raspberry croissants I've ever had. Even though I'm no longer in TO, I still dream of them
Update: They now offer boxes upfront to customers ordering multiple pastries to protect them from getting smushed. They also now try not to put more than two pastries in one bag, which is also very helpful. Love this bakery and so happy to see them growing and expanding! Great little french bakery whose pastries are fresh and delicious! The coffee is also very good, and the customer service is always pleasant. My only criticism would be to improve on the professionalism of the operations. I went there when their debit/credit was down, and instead of posting on the door and telling customers as they entered, there was only a tiny sign right by the front cash...which I only saw once I had already ordered and was standing in front of the register. As well, that same day I ordered three pastries which were smashed into one bag. I would recommend that since some of the pastries are delicate, that they invest in boxes so pastries dont smush together and break - or if they do have boxes, to offer them to customers.
Piced up their raspberry croissant ...was excellent and so reasonably priced ! Will be going back to try more
Incredible baguette and pastries
Great Caterer!
Raspberry croissant absolutely amazing, one of the best croissants in TO for sure.
Great croissants and coffee Love the baguettes. Delicious pastries. Friendly service
Great pasteries
Delicious and fresh!
All they are looking for is free labor on busy weekends and keep posting new baker or general labour saving a lot of money from paying someone to work MOST RESPONSIBLE EMPLOYER ON INDEED, BUT ACTUALLY RHEY ARE LOOKING FOR FREE LABOR AS THEY DO PAY YOU OR CALL FOR THE TRIAL FOR 5 HRS. THEY JUST WANT YOU TO WORK FOR FREE 5 HRS SPECIALLY ON WEEKEND AND YOU WILL NEVER HERE BACK FROM THEM. . Disgusting employer.
I ordered by Ubereats and the spinach and feta danish and croissants are OMG WOW delicious with nice butter smell~~
Wow! Can you say wow! Was in there yesterday and I had maybe the best chocolate croissant I ever had. My mother had the almond one and she (even after 60 years of eating them) thinks it is the best one she ever had. Also tried the Mars Bar flavoured ice cream and it tasted exactly like a Mars Bar. I could eat all their stock without thinking twice. Everyone should eat here and support this business so that they are around for years to come making perhaps the best baked (and frozen) goods in the city/country/world.
The almond croissant here is fantastic, so fresh and perfect!
Bread pudding is excellent, Americano is weak, too diluted
Best chocolates and baguettes in Toronto
I have worked here every summer for the past several summers and once again im drawn back to the amazing workplace and environment. The pastries, breads, ice cream are all absolutely amazing, and the sad 8 months of the year I dont spend at work, I make sure to stock my freezer full to ensure I get my gouter fix anytime I want it even when I cant be there!
Great patisserie
Ordered a croquembouche here. It was delicious and looked very nice. They made it for me even though I ordered it just the day before. Really good service and friendly staff.
Amazing pastries and the food is delicious ( particularly the catered pizza!) ! They go above and beyond in customer service- catered a family event and were so amazing to work with! Would definitely recommend and use again!
Wonderful cakes and baked goods.
Amazing french pastries made with quality ingredients. Highly recommended!
Best French pastry shop in North York
We had such a phenomenal experience using Rodney and his team. They catered our engagement brunch and the food was exquisite. He even came to help serve and ensure everything went perfectly!!! He was so easy to work with and provided so much food for a beyond reasonable price. We ordered several quiches which were out of this world!! He made us an assortment of delicious sandwiches, a risotto which I can't get enough of and the most delicious and beautiful desserts. Could not recommend more - we will exclusively use rodney and his team for any future parties!!
Great place to get some amazing baked goods. I'd love to meet the mastermind behind the ice-cream the chocolate hearts and sorbet ;). It's so yummy!!!!
Excellent quality. Not overly sweet like most Canadian pâtisserie. The gelatin is fish not meat. All delicious and so appealing.
Fantastic French patisserie! Amazing service, food and coffee. Neighborhood gem!
Gouter is an amazing patisserie and the people are so nice. They are accommodating and whenever I go in, I want everything. The bread is amazing, the baked goods and I look forward to trying more. Try it first chance you get.
I always make a trip here annual to get their pastries and bread. Very delicious and clean bakery
Great coffee & pastries!
What a neighborhood gem! We come here regularly for croissants, kouign amann, breads and the best ice cream. It's walkable and more importantly, extra delicious!
Lost our business for good. Came in person to inquire for and order a bunch of goodies for my baby shower, was told to email which I did shortly after but with no response. So I came in person once more to follow up and was informed that someone would call. No one did. So I followed up by calling them this time and twas again promised that someone would return my call & inquiry. And yet no one ever followed up. My baby shower took place and was a great success, we found a wonderful bakery with whom I look forward to working with for the many events in our future. But Gouter has without a doubt lost our business. With this sort of unprofessionalism, I certainly wouldn't recommend.
The service was very good. The girl behind the counter greeted us politely and let me brows. Then she offered my granddaughter a Madeline with a smile. The croissants, petits pain au Chocolat, Kouign-Amann, Double baked chocolate almond croissant and a small Cheese mouse on a crust. All were very tasty and full of flavour. In hope that it will not change.
Simply outstanding. One of the few fine establishments in this part of North York. Well worth the drive.
Authentic french pastries that rival some of the best bakeries in Toronto. It is certainly worth a visit and won't disappoint. Everything from their baguette, Pain au Chocolat, to Kouign Amann is excellent. Don't forget to also try their gelato, sorbet and chocolate!
Delicious pastries matched only by professional and friendly service. So glad to have this bakery in our neighbourhood!
