Best baklava I've ever tasted. I was also surprised to discover so many varieties of it. Ended up getting a tray of treats to bring home and they disappeared quickly. Will have to get more soon and I will be recommending everyone try Golden Syria!

Enjoyed some delicious, authentic Syrian baklava... sampled some before driving because we couldn't wait to try it. I wish we had waited because I just wanted to pull the car over and devour them for the entire drive! Service was kind and friendly and offered to curate my order. Price was $17 for the plate which is a bit out of reach for some, but a great treat for special occasions and you get what you pay for. This is the only place I would recommend you buy baklava in North Bay.

I have tried their Pistachio Baklava and it had a thick layer of green colored peanuts mixed in heavy paste to look like pistachio (produce weight). The taste was horrible and did not look like baklava at all. Please note that some of the reviews you see here are those of their own family members.

I have tried baklavas once a while in some places, always had the same impression - too sweet. Bought a platter of assorted baklavas at this place for lunch with friends, surprisingly the level of sweetness is just right. Well done and will come back for sure.

I really enjoyed the baklava and other sweets I got for a Christmas party this weekend. Golden Syria has a nice assortment of sweets to choose from, and it is wonderful to have this shop in North Bay. I have traveled extensively in the Middle East and missed the sweets, especially knafeh. Highly recommend you try out Golden Syria!
