Ordered the meatloaf and the deep fried butter tart. The potato and veggies were great, meatloaf very salty and just meh. Not much stuffed inside and I couldn't taste the bbq sauce at all on it. The desert was amazing. The highlight of the meal. Service was slow but the bartender was super busy and did her best.

15 minute wait when there are 4 waitresses and not 10 people in the place. When my bill is 57 dollars and change, and I give your a 100.00 bill, 1) yes I want change, 2) dont bring me 2 - 20 dollar bills. If I have to ask for change twice all your getting for a tip is the 2. 75 you bright along with my 20's. Food was meh!

I called and placed an order for a poutine. I specifically asked what kinda of gravy they use. I was told it was a mushroom based gravy. I had the poutine and it was ok but the next time I ordered I was told they don't have a mushroom based gravy at all!! If you are a vegetarian looking for poutine I recommend Ivan's instead

Cecils has always been one of my favorite places to go to in North Bay! They do offer some vegetarian options, along with many other regular options. I ordered the Quinoa & Black Burger, it was quite messy but delicious nonetheless. The food is a huge step up from regular pub food. They offer a variety of options such as: specialty burgers & sandwiches, salads, and fancier meals such as chicken, shrimp, and steak dishes. The food didnt take long to get and our waitress was very nice! It was a great evening, good atmosphere with some nice music playing in the background. I would highly reccomend Cecils! Even if your just looking for a place to watch a game & hang out with friends, they have alot of beer options & appetizers :)

My wife and I came in with the chill of being out on the lake on a cold fall day and were looking for something to warm us up. It was either French Onion Soup or Bouef Bourguignon. Fortunately both were on the menu. We chose the BB, hers on mash and mine on noodles. It was what we needed, good, hearty fare although it was not exactly what I expected. I missed the pearl onions, carrots and button mushrooms and a good amount of burgundy. This stew had spring onions and sliced mushrooms and no carrots and if there was wine in there at some time, it had evaporated with the flavour. (I also like to add a 1/4 cup of cognac and shallots.) On the other hand I enjoyed the craft beer as recommended by the waiter (You should have identified yourself, then I would give you a shout-out). She also brought me a sample of another beer I wanted to try. She was attentive and efficient. We took dessert to-go and enjoyed the chocolate cake and banana bread cake thoroughly. We definitely would recommend this resto brew pub. Btw, someone else has already mentioned the decor, so I won't belabour that point, but ...Damn!

Cost $54.43 for an order of fish and chips (one piece of fish), a very small club sandwich, and antojitos that looked like one mini tortilla cut into 6 incredibly tiny pieces. The portions were waaaay too small for the price and everything was bland and gross. The fish was covered in the thickest layer of tastless, doughy batter I've ever had, not an once of seasoning or even salt or pepper on anything. Not even the fries. No one finished their meal and we ended up ordering pizza instead. It was our first time ordering from here and unfortunately we won't be ordering again. :/ also the coleslaw was somehow the hottest thing delivered to our door and everything else was lukewarm or cold.

Also really enjoyed going to Cecil's in the past, but had a very unfortunate experience there last night. I think there was a big misunderstanding with our waitress (who never introduced herself to us...this might be a good idea for future customers and service). She seem to think we were cat calling her and cut us off without having anyone talk to us first. We were there with a group of friends (all professionals) having dinner, talking and laughing, and hardly had anything to drink. Some of us were drinking only water while we were there. She clearly mistook something that was said amongst ourselves as directed towards her I guess. Can't really figure out what happened for sure. Unfortunately, we will not be returning or recommending Cecil's anymore either.

Been going to Cecils for year,s but last night on december 21st we as a group of people and a custumer were ttreated very poorly and asked to leave after dinner and only 2 drinks Yes we made a mistake by calling the waiter from across the room. but in no means that was a excuse to be cut off and asked to leave. One of my favorite places to go is now off my list. Very dissappointed and will not be reccommending Cecil no more.

Quick service and their home craft beer is good. However, the food is very disappointing. The bruschetta was close to disgusting. The fish and chip was decent, but the Buffalo chicken strips were cold and felt old, also coming with honey melon... In conclusion I do not recommend the restaurant if you want to eat, but if you just want to grab a beer yes it is a great place.

Best food ever!! Love the sauce on the ribs. Ribs are fall off the bone tender. Wings are cooked perfectly and big meaty wings is a plus! Steak bites in bacon are amazing. The wife loved her cordon bleu, says it’s the best she’s ever had, so I had to taste it. I 100% agree. The long grain rice tastes amazing. We haven’t got to the chocolate cake yet. Cause we’re so full but it looks amazing. Delivery staff was professional and respectful and also very polite. Love supporting small businesses like this. Thank you for the best take out meal we’ve ever had!

Sunday brunch is superb, there's so much delicious fried food available on the menu, the Cecil's burger is double everything and in my opinion one of the two best burgers in northern Ontario. The nachos are "homemade" and the best in town if they get to your table before they become soggy and cold. Unfortunately the bar employs violent thugs as security and I've had more than enough bad experiences to never drink there again. I remember once preparing to leave, paying my bill and being immediately pushed out an entrance before having the chance to grab my coat. I remember misplacing a credit card and asking a very rude bartender if it was used for a tab only to be assaulted by three security personnel determined to rip off my arm, nose and fingers, my shoulder has never fully healed from this affront to human rights. I remember being violently thrown out with a group of friends because my anaemic friend had trouble standing after a complete stranger threw a bottle at her head and she was presumed intoxicated. I could go on but there isn't enough time in the day. A majority of the bands that regularly play there are of inferior quality. The fried cheese sticks are terrifyingly bland, some rosemary and dill would improve them enormously. Very easy to get in with no ID.

In town for business, went for lunch. First, ordered beer, mine was flat and tinny, sent back. Next ordered calamari (very good). My husband ordered triple cheese burger with chips, his chips oil soaked stale and cold. I ordered the philly steak sandwich. It was dry and when asked for au jus, the waitress said it's there, but under the cheese, (did the cheese eat the au jus, lol)but said I could have extra (guess I'm greedy). She proceeded to bring au jus, but it was gravy and we pointed this out, however she proceeded to school us on the difference, silly us. The beef bread onions mushrooms..dry as cardboard. Gravy or au jus would not have fixed it. Seriously, how you get a 4.1 is beyond me , won't be back.

Sunday brunch is amazing. Only thing I've been there for. The staff are friendly. Great selection of hot options. Eggs Benedict as a buffet option is fun. The prime rib is decent. They have a separate table for cold salads and varied options. The desert table was really delicious. they had a chocolate fondue fountain amongst fruit and much higher carb options. I will definitely go back.

We had appetizers all of which were delicious including spicy rolls, bread with dip, kettle chips and deep fried cauliflower. After a long day of Halloween activities and trick or treating my husband and I decided to order food. We used Skip The Dishes. The two entrees we ordered we not available and Skip The Dishes called back to modify the order. I changed the order to a full rack of ribs and Fajitas. When the email came back showing the modified order it only showed the ribs. Long story short after speaking with Skip The Dishes they advised me that because what i wanted was more money they couldnt add it. They then hung up on me. I called Cecils restaurant and Sam immediately changed the order and added my food to the delivery. Sam totally saved the day and because of her awesome attitude and willingness to help not only did she help a mom eat but she kept well paying customers for this retauarant. Thank you Sam!!

This place is awful, we went there for a family dinner the other night, it took forever just to get drinks, (and the place was dead) everyone who ordered there food at the same time got it at different times and most of it was cold. They knocked over and broke a 50$ present for my grandma and then still didn't even offer us a discount for there poor service. This place is way to expensive for the poor quality.

Ordered a stout they had in the vats, was lousy. Ordered bruchetta and it was fancy, while others around me had more diner style food with the checkered paper liners. I was hoping for a premade bruchetta on toasted bread, instead I got the fancy dish that I had to assemble myself on small baguette. Wife ordered deep fried pickles, they were good but 4 for $8 is ridiculous and they serve it with sour cream instead of ranch or aioli. This place needs some consistency, we going fancy or good local food? Total rip off and I paid $5 cover on top of it. Live music was great but that isn't part of the business, avoid like the plague. Would've rather ate a bruchetta I found on the men's room floor at the zoo 10 years ago.

We stayed in North Bay as part of a longer road trip. We were looking for something local and not chain dinner and that was open on Mondays. Cecil's wasn't too far from our hotel. And it was a Brewpub so all the better! We had an excellent dinner with excellent service. There is a well-priced kids menu with several options. I had the Amber ale and it was excellent. I would definitely recommend Cecil's!

We left super happy and satisfied, temagami burger was so yummy ???? and massive usually finish my meal and I could not with the size of the burger didn't need fries lol It's not far off the highway totalyl worth the jump off! These guys are are sure tying hard to be a top notch restaurant in North Bay. Once the food quality catches up to the prices, the interior is cleaned up a bit and the temperature is controlled so the waitstaff and patrons are not uncomfortable they will almost be there. The waitstaff was very good, even in the heat. So you get a “B” for effort and a “D” for execution. We will not be back.

Five stars for service and their staff. We were wet and cold and didn't have a reservation for a busy Friday night. We got to sit at the bar and had the best service from Cecil's lovely bartender. She is a gem and really made us feel special.

The first thing I want to say is their attention to detail is amazing. My green tea came with a warm cup not cold like most places. The condiments were in clean bottles and cool so you knew they were in a cooler. The food was amazing, and their menu is big. Everything from bar food to something more high end. The prices are very reasonable and the service was amazing. I will definitely be a return customer when I am in the area

Food was okay. Definitely not worth the price. Our service was terrible. Had to circumvent our "server" on multiple occasions because she couldn't be bothered to bring us hot sauce or water or the ice cream she promised to "bring right out". Definitely the best part about Cecils is their beer, which lives up to the reputation. In the future I'll probably just eat somewhere else and go to Cecils for beer and open mic night, which was quite enjoyable.

I've come in a few times and always enjoyed myself. Sometimes the service is a little bit slow, but that's only when it's very busy which is to be expected. I want a lobster dinner which was a set time. They accommodated me as I had a class late that evening, so I was able to come in later. The service was wonderful and the lobster beer pairings was delicious. Thank you!

I recently dined here for lunch with a friend. Although there were more servers than patrons, the service was horrible...and the food worse. My chicken wrap had 2 small chicken nuggets and was stuffed with soggy lettuce and a repulsive sweet sauce. My friend ordered an in-house brew. The beer was stale tasting and left a bad after taste. It's rare when my friend can't choke down a beer. There are few restaurants this bad. No reason to go back.

Went for dinner, both the appetizers and the main course (burgers) were great. The best part was the Black Knight stout. Considering they brew it in house it was really good. Compareable to something from Hop City or even Muskoka Brewery.

Should really only be 4*s, but Chris Vega's acoustic set bumped it to a great experience. The food and service were fantastic! The home brew, meh... Must be an acquired taste. Mind you, we sent our select house lagers back (no questions asked) for an amazingly cold and deliciously tasteless bud lites. Not the ritziest place, but, great location, food, and well... music from the only guy more popular than Jerry O'Connell... made for a great evening out with friends.

Which then i asked to speak to a manager and she refused to let me talk to one and hung up the phone and never returned my calls.

Cecil's has a great pub look and atmosphere. The brewhouse look is prevalent as well, with the great polished vats standing over the dining area, suggesting good times to follow. But, at the end of the day, what counts for me is food quality. Without it, even the Taj Mahal wouldn't do. Now I could speak to a few of their dishes and talk about how delish they all are. But one that stands out - and I mean really stands out - is the usually-simple-at-other-places Reuben Sandwich. Their Reuben is beyond good and combined with their in-house mustard, is a delight that would have them "beating Bobby Flay" if they were on Food Network. Combine their amazing Reuben with the soup of the day - the one that day was an amazing savoury tomato cream soup, and you have a reasonably priced amazing luncheon experience that sings in your mouth, dances across your palate and sits ever-so-comfortably leaving you with a satisfied 'foodie' feeling. Top it off with stunningly good customer service and Wow. Cecil's is an experience!

Forgot my fries and refused to deliver an order, burger is pink and mushy, condiments are clearly canned. Waste of $20 for a gross meal that I didnt eat. Edit: I cant figure out how to respond. My boyfriend ordered around 1800, we drove from Callandar to pick up our gross order, got back go Callandar, realized fries weren't there, called, got told next time I go in I can have a free fry. I don't even live in North Bay so that means nothing to me.

21 bucks for a couple of shots of tequila. Give me a break. No place in this country is so upbeat they should do that in good conscience. Maybe just targeting us as tourists, I don't know. Sure not stopping by again on the way back to Alberta.

Ordered a Ruby Red and it arrived without head. Even after they replaced the beer gas, it was really flavourless. Ordered a French onion soup, average at best. Ordered Pickerel, rice and veggies. Veggies were cold, rice was pasty. The fish was ok. Then they offered me a free desert. Definitely do not recommend this place. There are better places to spend your hard earned dollars.

What a wonderful Turkey Thanksgiving Dinner we had !! Thank you to Josh /Ronnie (sorry if spelling isn't correct) for the wonderful service we had from all of you working this shift.. We came to visit for the long weekend and definitely would come back here to Cecil's and will highly recommend. Food was amazing..compliments to the chef !! Turkey carrots mashed potatoes and can't forget the pumpkin tart dessert. AMAZING!! So friendly and the atmosphere is just so genuine..great job on the renovations here truly a lovely spot !! ????

The food was awesome, especially the Kid's meal. We ordered two different types of salad, it's far more above my expectation, no mater the dish size and the food quality. The price is also reasonable. I didn't get a chance to try their beer since I need to drive after the meal, but I saw every table order the beer, will 100% come back and try it (if I don't drive) next time.
