the food is delicious, the portions are big, the prices are incredible and the staff is friendly and helpful. One of my favorite places for breakfast in town! my order got mixed up because of the morning rush and when I brought it back they were super kind & replaced it with the right order super fast. their sandwiches and burgers are also incredible!

Absolutely love this place. Cheap food, classic diner setting that i love, open concept kitchen/pass. It has turned into my regular spot to grab a quick bite for breakfast or to sit with my partner on a nice day. Great coffee and good hash browns what more could you want... The owner also employs a lot of young servers, i imagine to give them a shot at something good, which i respect. This does leave a little do be desired with the quality of service but be patient and u will get exactly what you need. over all 4/5 would eat again. And again...

some of the staff are heartless and cruel, i was waiting for a bus out of the cold when some of the staff members lashed out at me and kicked me out simply because i was drinking coffee that i did not purchase there. i had to wait 20 minutes in the cold. i treat most situations with respect and i respect certain business owners that ask me to leave nicely with respect, but some staff at waits news were very disrespectful towards me and i think that needs work.

Great staff and very comfortable and welcoming environment. Convenient Store, newsstand, and restaurant/cafè all-in-one makes this business a quick stop shop for cigarettes, lottery, snacks, and many foothills creamery ice cream flavours that change on a regular basis or stop in for a bite to eat featuring many home-made and unique menu items. Stop in and try a in-store made from-scratch ruben; it's definitely recommended!

This is a classic diner location for Nelson. Operations hours are almost 24 hours . Located on Baker Street. You can purchase tobacco,drinks and snacks here. My only complaint about the place is that there is a large amount of people standing outside the place bugging people for money ( I know it is not their fault but it makes entering and exiting a bit of a hassle )

I’ve got a pretty high tolerance for attitudes but it’s hard to underscore how rude the staff is at this business. What should have been a simple interaction was met with hostility and rudeness at every turn. I would not have ever bothered to go in to this business if I knew that the staff would be so incredibly intolerant and rude. Don’t bother visiting this dump and spend your money elsewhere.

Great food and good service. Omelette and eggs Benedict were excellent. Service was fairly good for us, they were extremely busy and understaffed in my opinion. Two servers and two cooks total. Some people were seated and left due to slow service. But our experience was good. They need to hire more help.

Nice little diner in the heart of town. Mary is really caring even for the people most consider "riff raff" Breakfast and lunch all day and Friday Saturdays into the night (one of the only places for after bar food). Awesome milkshakes.

A lovely casual diner with amazingly delicious milkshakes and excellent burgers (great flavour and easy to eat in the park!) It's nothing fancy but everyone provided excellent service even though they were super-busy. We appreciated their time & hard-work and will definitely be back to try something else (perhaps a rootbeer milkshake?)

Waits is a fun place to stop by. Weekends usually there is a dj there and they have pizza available, very good! During the week you can get delicious milkshakes, popcorn, regular drinks, and even some good food there available.

Waits knows what they are doing and the staff is always super friendly. They have consistently delicious breakfast that is always on point. The toast comes perfect with melted butter, and they have 3 kinds of gluten free toast including cinnamon raisin! The bacon is crispy but not burnt, never floppy and sad. They also have some fine milkshakes to bring all the boys to the yard. Their pancakes are also amazing, including their gf ones!

For 35 dollars you can get a very small amount of extremely bland food for two. If you want a big burger don't go here. The only thing good about my breakfast poutine was toast. The server only came by once. All around a bad experience.

The food is really good but the name may have more of a meaning when it comes to waiting. Wasn't extremely busy but waited over 20 minutes before coffee was delivered and a very very long time for the food. After we were finally able to pay the server wouldn't acknowledge us for the recept and she just walked away. Food was good but wouldn't go back unless the staff becomes more organized.

My fiance and I stumbled across this place while walking around trying to enjoy the beautiful city of Nelson. We were served by an older lady who was just an absolute grumpy hag. When we sat down in this very small store, we waited about 10 minutes before this so called server went on to ask "have you been served? Well would you like to be served or not?" . We ordered two black iced coffees (without milk/cream) as we both have lactose intolerances. From then we were told by this grumpy hag that "if you want an iced coffee without milk then you don't want an iced coffee." In a very snarly 'bitchy' tone. We eventually got our iced coffees. (With milk may I add, after specifically asking for no milk). Overall a terrible experience. Don't waste your hard earned money here.. unless you like being treated like absolute garbage.
