I thought the coffee was delicious the staff was another storey, they tried to hide it but it was obvious they did not want to serve me, no smiles, no eye contact, head down when spoken to. So basically not a sincere crowd and only are "inviting" to their own kind-customer service needs to be re-vamped.

There's monthly rotation of art on the wall, and local pottery for sale. And the garden terrace is a horticultural wonder with amazing views of the mountains. The delicious coffee is roasted in Nelson and sourced from certified organic and fair trade cultivators. It is a great people watching spot as you get to see the full spectrum of Nelson. They offer a variety of in house and locally made sweet and savoury treats catering to various dietary preferences. They have a reputation for being a great employer providing benefits to staff, living wages, footwear allowances etc. Even when the line up is out the door (which it often is) the service is friendly and fast.

I don't want to penalize an establishment based on it's massive success to I'll speak to that at the end. Positives: 1. Amazing location - The building, garden patio, artwork, everything is stunning and you find yourself looking at every little detail they've built into their establishment. 2. The Coffee - Some of the best drip coffee I've ever had. 3. The Breakfast Buns - DELICIOUS no matter what to add to it. Negatives?: (I say this in jest) 1. Busy - Line-up was out the door ~15 minutes just to order and we thought we were there before the breakfast rush. Another ~18 minutes before we received our breakfast. There's also no good standing spots while you wait for your order. 2. Related to being busy, staff was polite but not engaging I suppose they were just trying to pump through the line.

This is Nelson's original coffee shop. It's obvious from the quality of the coffee that staff are well trained Baristas and care about their work. I asked for a traditional cappuccino. They asked if that meant 10oz. Trouble. I said a trad cap is 5oz. They settled on an 8 oz cup since 5oz didn't seem possible for them. They then asked if it should be a double or a single sort. Normally it would be 1oz espresso, but since they were gonna serve it in an 8oz cup, I opted for a double shot. What I ended up getting was about 4 oz of bitter over-extracted espresso. It's not a bad roast, they just didn't pull it well. The milk was properly frothed though (for a dry cap) and tasted nice. Cute place. They must have good food to have this high a rating because their espresso pulls leave much to be desired.

I think this place may be a victim of its own popularity... coffee was weak; didn’t offer to grill a sandwich that definitely needed grilling, then (not unreasonably I guess) wouldn’t grill it after I’d taken a nibble; long lines. I think it’s a good, stylish place, but needs to be careful to keep up standards. EDIT: to be fair, the ungrilled sandwich was still really good; and the muffin was really good too. Moved to 4*.

Cosy interior, with indoor and outdoor seating. There is a decent selection of coffee to buy and have ground here. The menu is easy to read and everything is decently priced. There are vegan, gluten free, dairy free, and wheat free options in their pantry case, and several non-dairy milk options for beverages. One negative might be that they don't seem to have a POS machine, and orders are taken on paper and counted with a calculator. This may cause transactions to be slower than expected. All in all a nice cafe I would frequent if I lived here.

It is good here. Customer service is excellent. Keep in mind that the drinks here are not like Starbucks at all. So if you are expecting a caramel macchiato, they don't have it but similar to it. Zero Stars - Management Epic Fail!! I'm having trouble wrapping my head around a coffee shop... that serves muffins... and can't heat them. What did they think the point was? I didn't even get to find out if there was butter available. Oso, it's 2021, almost 2022. Microwaves are not evil. They are not witchcraft. They are a simple tool for a healthy business. That fact that you can't heat a muffin in your store undermines my confidence in you and your credibility. The coffee shop market in Nelson is too competitive for you not to heat muffins (and have butter for them).

Almost a cult like following for coffee lovers. You either love their roasts or not. I personally love them. Strong, delicious and rich blends. The cafe is a bit of a landmark when visiting Nelson as many of my friends love to go their while visiting Nelson. The morning can be busy during peak times. Never fear - Oso has a stellar team that keeps the line moving and gets your hot bevy into your hands quickly. And if you like checking out art they have a different artist featured every month.

I would give it 5 stars but what's with the cheap tacky coffee mug? Different beer goes with different glass, it further the drinking experience. You have such beautiful coffee, I can taste the heart you put into it, then you serve it in a mug that only thrift stores would carry. Unfortunately my review has changed. I haven't had a good tasting non-dairy tea latte (I don't drink coffee) here for a long time. I can't even remember if I ever have. I quite like the atmosphere especially in the summertime. But until they improve I'd rather go to where I know I can get a better tasting drink.

Had the Nitro Cold Brew, which was divine. Indoor seating was comfortable and spacious. Worked there for a bit and it was fine. Not too crowded. Outside garden is absolutely delightful. Only had benches, but would be great for coffee chats.

Coffee so good I visited this place twice on my 24 hours in Nelson. Both indoor and outdoor seating areas are beautiful, the quality of coffee is high, and the biscotti is to die for! The staff seemed friendly. Would definitely go back!

Unbeatable coffee!!☕???? Very busy place lots of seating indoors and beautiful outdoor seating area. We had Almond Milk Cold Brew and Iced Oat Milk Latte both were excellent. The Gluten Free Banana Bread was unfortunately very dry and could have been served with some butter.

The counter attendant / barista was snooty as I placed my order and when I asked for room for room for cream and sugar she acted impatient and poured 1/4th of a cup out so that after I added my cream and sugar I needed a top up. Just rude to me. Maybe I don't fit her bill of customers worthy of friendliness. Anyway I spoke to the manager via email and they said Sorry, take care.
