Stopped in here on our visit to Nelson. I picked up a bag of beans (Sonic Youth blend) based on their suggestion. I'm glad I listened. Finally got to brew a cup and it's delicious! I'll definitely be stopping here again!

This is how coffee should be served and enjoyed - you are the director of how deep down the rabbit hole you'd like to explore. As someone who also works in the industry, No6's reputation is only further bolstered every time I am fortunate enough to visit Nelson and their shop.

If you’re looking for a full immersion coffee experience with the ability to taste various coffees, compare various brewing methods and learn a ton about coffee...this is the place. If you’re looking for a to-go coffee, wifi camping or cafe food this isn’t your place. I learn something new about coffee with every visit to No. 6.

Denis, Kurt, and Thomas are all very knowledgeable and I have learned a lot about coffee that I didn’t know before :) Definitely stop in if you get the chance!

The prevailing taste acquired for the majority of Kootenayans is a dark and roasty cup of joe - this place will not serve you that. Nor will No 6 serve you a coffee in a paper cup, so hang out and have a chat with the good ol' boys that run this place. Denis has been in Nelson for decades and Kurt is more local than some locals- they both know coffee damn well. No 6 is the first coffee roaster in Nelson that is committed to sourcing quality beans, dialling in the roast, and serving a fresh, unique product. It's comparable to drinking a delicious nelson-brewed craft beer vs a molson canadian. Treat yourself to a conversation and craft beverage at No 6 and taste a coffee well done.

Definitely a knowledgable staff who are passionate about spreading coffee knowledge. I purchased a half pound of beans, and was able to try their cold brew. High quality coffee, but not your typical coffee house experience. I had thought they had just opened given the boxes everywhere, there isnt really anywhere to sit and relax. They do have a bar you can sit at, at the front. It's very stark white. It's not at all bad, just a different experience that most will be surprised at. I'm stoked to try my coffee as soon as we get home! Oh! The other thing to note, this shop does not have take away cups, they have glass cups for instore, or you need to bring your own.

Absolutely fantastic cold brew. they do a great filtering process that allows for incredible mouth feel and microcosm from the nitrogen that lasts right through to the end of the cup. Must visit.

No. 6 Coffee has quickly become the most delicious, artisanal coffee in the entire Kootenay Region! I get the pleasure of stopping by every week to refill their reusable Zero Waste jars with fresh roasted, sustainably sourced, whole bean goodness and it makes my heart smile every time. I never leave No. 6 without learning something new about coffee and having an amazing experience (and an equally amazing espresso) at their tasting bar. I highly recommend putting some time aside to stop by for an elevated Nelson experience!

I've hit up the bar a couple times for an espresso (or two!) and they are really a top notch boutique coffee bar. Coffee is their deal, and it shows. The space is utilitarian and minimalist, making sure the coffee is front and centre of the experience. Left with a bag of The Portal (formerly Sonic Youth Blend) and I am enjoying this amazing coffee at home right now! Best coffee in Nelson, hands down.

No6 is the new high bar for coffee in Nelson, and finally brings this charming little town into 3rd wave roasting. The guys here are seriously passionate about conjuring the absolute best cup of coffee, and it’s a treat to experience it in person. You can get a bag for home, or enjoy a cup (with a pastry on Saturdays!) right there. It’s not a cafe per-se, think of it more as a brewery with taps; it’s the source of the beans and you can taste them while you’re there. And don’t forget your to-go mug if you want to bring some with you. Love it, keep it up boys!

I ordered coffee from here a week or two ago and what a treat! I ordered a bag of decaf and a sample pack of single origin and filter blends. "The Rabbit" its such a well rounded blend, and the decaf is nutty and sweet. These will be new regulars in our house!

Admittedly, I was dubious when I realized they didn't open until 9am. What coffee shop can do that? Well, this one I guess. The coffee is really good. My wife had oat milk capps and I did pour overs. These guys know their s#@%, will talk with you about it and then offer some cool, local stuff to do during your caffeine buzz. They even let my 2 sons "help" them roast. Great stuff.

Baristo was friendly, informative and welcoming. I ended up buying two different blends and we really enjoyed our experience. It’s become a travel ritual to try out local java and the baristo helped point me in the right direction.

Edit: Response to management The server didn’t explain anything to do with the tasting bar, rather just laughed at me for ordering a large coffee and said you weren’t a cafe. Definitely appreciate that you are going for a different concept in regard to this, I actually really like the idea and would have loved some information about the coffee or even just anything to do with your business. Instead the server gave off a feeling of belittlement from the beginning that instantly lost the vibe for me. He also added a comment at the end about the coffee “probably being a bit too strong for my usual taste” which definitely left me walking out feeling like it was overall a pretty condescending experience. Appreciate the response, testing out new coffee places is normally really fun so I hope others might have a different experience.
