We were on the prowl for a morning coffee and stumbled in here. Trust me you won't be disappointed. We also fell victim to yummy treats. Had to walk up and down Baker street twice to burn off the access calories :)

John ward is generally not good. Nothing special about their coffee. Price I feel is a bit more than Oso. So Oso is better. Always pan handlers near or just outside John Wards. No menu for snacks or desserts just small over priced morsels. Also with such a vagrant problem in the town itself they refuse to help the poor coming in by charging for day olds!

Nice central location for coffee with a good patio. There's better coffee to be had for the price, though. Also has a minimum purchase if you're paying with card, which isn't particularly attractive these days.

This is mainly just a review for the coffee. 4/5 Great little gem. These guys do espresso coffee right! Probably the best cafe latte I've ever had in Canada. I can't speak for the food only had an honey oat bar which was delicious but never tried anything off the cooked menu. If I had more time I'd probably spend the whole afternoon sapping their free wi-fi and sampling special delights

With MANY coffee options to choose from, John Ward is still at the top of my list here in Nelson for Coffee. First, the location is ideal right in the heart of Baker Street and the drinks are always delicious! You can enjoy your treat to stay or get it to go! Lots of space to come in with friends!

This was the place a local recommended to us, and we were a bit disappointed. The coffee was pretty average, the staff seemed a little uninterested, or perhaps it was very busy admittedly it was a market day. However, they have a cool like mini thrift store with branded clothing, and their logo is pretty sweet

Large windows, great light, cozy patio onthe side street. Solid coffee using Origins beans, assorted baking (muffins, squares, scones, bars) and simple sandwiches (the capicolla was delicious). Staff is friendly, efficient and bar staff are knowledgeable.

$3 for a drip coffee that tasted insipid. Also instead of a pot of honey from which to sweeten one's drink charged 25 cents for a "honey stick" which takes at least 4 of those to sweeten a coffee so $4 total for a crappy coffee.

I couldn't recommend more highly. The drinks and treats are high quality and always delicious. The staff are generally very engaging and constantly cleaning the space, making it feel clean, safe and inviting. The only issue is it's quite small and hard to get a table!

This used to be my 'go to' espresso stop in Nelson. Their coffee and service are really excellent. That's why I was so disappointed when I went in for coffee last week. They have added a 'Kidaccino' (or something) to their menu. The child at the table next to us was loud, whiny, and kept playing with their little car toy on the table. To make things worse, a couple of parents came in with their large strollers (way too common in Nelson) and the place became unbearable. ...oh well, it was good while it lasted, but it's no longer a place for a relaxed cup.

Friendly staff. Lovely patio that fits two comfortably. Area is good for people watching. Ordered two Cortados, one with milk and the other with oat milk. Definitely recommend the oat milk. It has a lovely sweetness that goes so well with the espresso.
