Burger was fantastic, definitely voting for this one. Wait staff were quick and friendly. With such a great bar selection, standard drinks like the Paper plane, Charlie Chaplin, Tommy's margarita... seem to just take up valuable space on the menu that could be used for the unique creations you have like the 'no moaning in the caves' or 'redneck tea time'.

This was my second time eating here. The service was good, very attentive. Food was okay, drinks were excellent. It was a good evening until the bill came, the server had offered my partner a Birthday shot part way through the meal, he agreed but it showed up on the bill $6.50, a shot he wouldn't have gotten if we had know it was not free. We ended up not tipping because of this, so for $6.50 the server lost a 20% tip on a $90 bill. It was a good evening till then just make sure you know what your agreeing to order.

Went on a Saturday night. It wasn’t too busy. Live DJ, but the music was nightclub loud. Server kept pulling mask off to speak, which was unnecessary. Expensive for the quantity and quality. Drinks were decent, but was expecting more for the price point. Had a Penicillin and shared a No Way Rose. The Rose was great but barely filled two cups. There was a lot of ice. Food was too oily and salty. Brussel Sprouts came charred to nearly burnt and swimming in oil. Fried pickles were falling apart and over salted. Couldn’t even dip it in the sauce without it breaking into pieces. Chicken wings were decent. The healthiest part of the The starting suggested tip is 18% after tax. I’d rather the cost of a living wage be included in the prices.

Beer selection and prices are good. We had a nice waitress start us off and then she disappeared. Around 20 minutes later a waiter came right up to us abruptly with no respect of personal space and was pushy for us to buy more drinks. After we said no and were upset we didn’t see him again until we had to go to the bar to pay after waiting extensively to ask for the bill.

First of all, how dare you! Serve me the best ribs I've ever had and not even advertise that you have SERIOUS BARBECUE. One more time for the folks in the back row: SERIOUS BARBECUE!!! Beer list also very well curated, 24 selections is ample but not overwhelming, and the ribs were the best I've ever had. Did I mention this place should be shouting from the rooftops about their SERIOUS BARBECUE???

Our server Jack was attentive & fun (hopefully that’s your beer mate ????). My only suggestion would be to expand your wine list a bit - so many good BC craft beers could be complimented by some great BC wines!! You must eat here!!!!!

What a wonderful experience, our first place after driving 10 hours too Nelson and it was an absolute treat. The BBQ is a must as the brisket and fixings were undeniably delicious. For any whiskey fans what more do you need to know than fantastic whiskey flights.

Overall food and drink experience was great. We went twice during a week in August and enjoyed the great outdoor patio. Downtown Nelson is quite pretty at night on the patio in summer . The chicken burger and pulled pork are excellent with a fantastic choice of sides. This is upscale pub food for sure. My only complaint is that there are no regional breweries (other than cider) represented on their menu.

Had lunch here today. The staff was courteous and friendly. The chicken clubhouse I had was not equal to the price for sure. It was very dry, on plain sliced white bread and where was the chicken?? Also, took longer to arrive than should have as we were just about the only ones in there…. Suggestions: Try a chicken club and home made fries at “Main Street Diner”. No comparison!!

Awesome place! Kind of easy to walk by with a dark exterior that resembles a storefront. The inside is well decorated with clean lines and happy staff. The food is great! The beer flight is $12 for 4-5oz pours. A 16 oz pint runs $6. So be aware, your best deal may be to buy a few pints.

Absolutely love this place. Excellent food, great atmosphere. It's usually super packed at night so if you want to show up spontaneously, I'd make a reservation earlier in the day. Some nights it's not so bad, others the line up goes out the door.

I work in Nelson a lot by myself and it takes a lot to work up the courage to go somewhere by myself. I finally did and listened to all the recommendations and went to Broken Hill. -they were out of everything but chicken. -the waiter made comments about me eating alone. -i ordered a beer then spent a solid 30 minutes sitting awkwardly while my waiter hit on the table of 4 girls next to mine. -when he finally took my order I had been done my beer for a while. I had planned to order the chicken and have a whiskey flight, but my waiter spent so much time at other tables and sat/fed people that showed up after me, I felt unimportant and didn't want to bother. So I paid for my beer and left. I've never been more disappointed.

Decided to try it out without looking at any reviews and it seemed like a popular spot with good outdoor seating. We were not disappointed. Excellent service and delicious food. The BBQ chicken and brisket were so good. Oh and Steve the pigeon was entertaining and enjoyed bits of our cornmeal muffin. Highly recommend it.

A must-eat in Nelson! We started with a bowl of Cajun cheddar popcorn then shared the Whole She-bang platter between the four of us. The brisket, chicken and ribs were exceptional and the fries, cornbread and coleslaw that came with as sides were a delight! Also our service was nice and the decor was neat and trendy.

Good food, fast service, friendly atmosphere. Their meats are a must try! I tried half the menu, it's definitely worth a visit. I sat outside (COVID times) but even still it's a lively place, so if you want to avoid noise then maybe try another spot. As a brewery pub it's a great place to meet friends or have a meal, but the food makes it so above par I count this as a proper restaurant (I do not enjoy bar food and am kind of picky.) 5 stars will definitely be back!

After 3 days of being in Nelson I found another gem in one of my favorite cities (towns) in BC. The food in Nelson is top notch and broken hill delivers big time. The bacon sampler is to die for and the brisket tacos a must have. After 4 cocktails, and I love old fashioned cocktails. This is a reason alone to check out broken hill. The smoked old fashioned is absolutely unreal. The pulled pork sandwich “the cheeky pig” I still lick my fingers, is from another world. An unreal and another unforgettable experience in Nelson and I promise we will be back for sure... Thanks Chad, you’re a real Gem ????

First time going to Broken Hill and I have to say it did not disappoint! I had the smokin' wings and the brisket with mac & cheese, the wings were crispy and the brisket was ment in your mouth (I accidentally used the back of the knife to cut it and didn't notice until after I got through it) the mac was creamy with bread crumbs on top. Chad was super friendly and welcoming and the food and beer also great! Broken Hill is a welcome addition to Nelson and as a local to the area I will most definitely be returning.

Huge beer menu, and quality food!! They have options to make things vegetarian (like their gravy), and their cauliflower wings are SO good and you get a great size plate, not just a few cauliflowers on it. Great atmosphere and amazing staff!

Their meet tastes good, but this place is way overpriced! $6 for a handful of fries is outrageous; $18 for some greens with only a small amount of chicken is ridiculous; and then requesting a tip between 18% and 22% to top it off!! Here’s a tip: the tip should be $0 because the food is already overpriced. They also didn’t give any consideration to someone in a wheelchair with dogs who wanted to sit on the patio. They also did not give consideration to our little kid who wanted to eat a sandwich that she brought while we bought food. So we let her eat it outside and still didn’t order any food for her. It would have made a huge difference in our satisfaction with this place. If you’re a childless young adult looking for a place to get alcohol, this may be your place. If you have kids, go somewhere else!

My husband and I were in here this past Saturday evening for a few drinks and dinner. Our server, Meg B, welcomed us with a big smile and a very friendly attitude. She made sure our glasses were never empty and even recommended some menu items to us, which we ordered and enjoyed. Well done Meg! Was in there the other afternoon with my girlfriend and the service was really quick and the food was delicious. Ok my comment I have that's negative is the cooks need to remember that it's a open concept kitchen and the consumer will be watching. So wiping your nose or helping yourself to the fry bowl and munching away with your mouth open while cooking my grub well some people may not like to see this. Didn't bother me so much but my girlfriend was grossed out. Being a cook myself and having worked in a open concept kitchen myself I know it can be difficult to be disciplined and conscious of this but trust me you will get lots of complaints and this could destroy your bussiness. Thank you for the good grub and welcome to Nelson!
