Cute coffee shop located in an old train station, entrance is located out back but there's plenty of signage indicating this. Both the iced mocha and latte were well made. And the cookie was delish. All their baked goods are vegan and gluten free, and they have milk alternatives available for drinks. Plenty of seating outdoors around the shop itself and indoor spaces available too. Staff were efficient and friendly.

The smoothest matcha I’ve had on the island so far — this cup was a work of art!! Reasonably priced too, especially if using the 15% VIU student discount. There are vegan + GF pastries but they sell out fairly quickly throughout the day, so I’d recommend going earlier if you want to try some.

Our inaugural visit to the newest coffee shop in Nanaimo. I had heard that it was worth checking get out, I was not disappointed. Enjoyed a carrot muffin, plate of hummus & chips with a roisbois chai latte. The atmosphere is what I like, fresh and clean focusing on quality well made coffee rather than fluff and filler. They use Fernwood coffee roasted in Victoria that is well know by coffee aficionados. Had a wonderful chat with owner Amy who was cheerful and passionate about her business. Looking forward to the future of new offerings, outdoor patio as well as local artisan features. The White Rabbit is the new trendy place that will become your go to coffee destination in Nanaimo.

just had a latte and a blueberry apricot muffin. the latte is good, maybe a bit on the weak side, but definitely smooth tasting. really, it's above average for a cafe, and compared to *bucks. the muffin was fantastic. usually, coffee shop muffins sweet me out but this one was beautifully balanced. the dough was only lightly sweetened, so they let the sweetness of the apricots and blueberries do the work. i am yet to be disappointed by the coffee, food or staff at white rabbit coffee. (appologies for the lack of capital letters, my tablet seems to feel the shift button is unnecessary... odd since it's on the screen)

My preferred coffee stop in the downtown/OCQ. Amazing gluten free food. The only qualm I have is that folks sit inside with only beverages through lunch. Took a friend there for her birthday lunch (probably $50+ in revenue) and with beverage people not eating taking up space we had to go somewhere else.

I’ve tried a number of their drinks and they always surpass my expectations, best coffee (and dirty chia) in town. They also offer a ton of gluten free and vegan options so I know it’s safe to eat here with my sensitivities. Must try if you’re visiting Nanaimo!

I have given this place too many chances to provide a decent coffee. My latest attempt gave me a semi-lukewarm latte with zero flavor. I literally went back to my office and added a shot of espresso and zapped it in the microwave. Call me crazy, but that doesn't sound quite right after paying over $5. Atmosphere is great, COVID precautions good, barista was lovely, but coffee - bad. So in summary, if good coffee isn't important to you, check it out!

Owner was super condescending when I asked her to pour half of a double shot into my partners latte because I only wanted a single shot latte. If I’m paying for a double shot why would you dump half of it out instead of just giving it to the person I’m with? Wasteful and unnecessarily rude for no reason.

A group 4 of us girls came into the cafe after school and upon being there and buying both coffee and a baked good each we were super unsatisfied with the service...the cafe was very quiet only two other people there and we sat down at a table beginning to study...within a few minutes my friend took out a water bottle and we were told no outside food or drink...we kindly and respectfully put it away, then a few minutes later the owner told us to leave the cafe because and I quote. “we are not a Library” sure I understand if we didn’t buy anything and we’re taking up space but we were not...upon research this falls under a conflict of our rights as customer's...we had done everything on our part and since then we have chosen to go somewhere else as well as spread our experience with the public...when you walk into any coffee shop it is very clear there are teens cramming for test and studying, imagine being a teen and being told you are not welcome somewhere because of the way you are presenting yourself...sorry white rabbit cafe for ruining your aesthetic by having out a water bottle and some school books, but this was very personal to us and the discrimination made us feel powerless against adults, please don’t expect us back... if anything you should’ve praised the idea of us bringing in more customers and sharing a respectful relationship with youth.

Great local café/coffee house in Nanaimo. The owners are clearly passionate about what they do. The coffee brewed when I visited was Fernwood. I ordered a flat white and it was perfect. The only place in Canada I’ve been where I haven’t been asked what size of flat white I want (it’s only 8oz, in case you didn’t know). Although I didn’t use any, I noticed a nice selection of spices to sprinkle over your cuppa, such as cardamom. They serve a small selection of light fare. I tried the avocado toast and breakfast cookie. The avocado was sprinkled with house-made ‘everything bagel’ seasoning. So good. The oatmeal breaky cookie was also lovely, with fruit and seeds. The space is modern and they have built all of the wood furniture themselves. A lot of care and effort has gone into this place, and it’s definitely worth a visit.

Location was interesting because of the old buildings but also a little sketchy since the area is changing. My matcha latte was really good and woman behind the counter was very nice and polite. The staff were friendly and the background music was quiet, so it was a good atmosphere to read or study. Due to social distancing, there are currently not many tables. The menu is not suitable for a meal because it has a simple kettle-dish feel, and those who like to relax will like the pretty atmosphere. (Original) 찾기가 어려운데 올드시티쿼터 바깥 주택가 한가운데 있는 건물 모퉁이에 있어요. 작고 소담한 분위기의 동네 카페. 스탭들은 친절하고 배경 음악이 조용해서 책 읽거나 공부하는 분위기였습니다. 사회적 거리두기 때문에 현재 테이블은 많지 않아요. 메뉴는 간단한 주전부리 느낌이기 때문에 식사용으로는 맞지 않고, 여유를 좋아하시는 분들이라면 예쁜 분위기가 마음에 드실 듯합니다.
