The place looked nice and rustic... the staff were very pleasant but the food was not good... We got a turkey sandwich and the turkey was put on top of 2 toasts and gravy poured over it... It was soggy by the time it got to the table... Burger, the bun’s diameter was twice the size of the patty and the fries were cold...

My wife and I finally went to Trees for breakfast, after passing it a million times and commenting on how we needed to check it out nearly every time. I'm happy to report the self-imposed hype didn't ruin anything! If possible, our expectations were even exceeded when we saw the broad range of options, most of which were marked GF, Vegetarian, Vegan, or in some cases, all of the above (while this doesn't really affect my decisions much, it's great to have lots of options for my wife, who is celiac, our vegetarian son, and vegan sister in law). Service was quick without feeling rushed,the food tasted fresh and flavourful, and portions were large enough that I couldn't finish (I had the Tex Mex skillet, and it was brilliant). I'm not sure how they do it, but their gluten free toast looked as bubbly and light as a regular piece of toast, and they even offer GF bennies. Their baked goods were so tasty that we ended up buying a mountain of fresh-baked goodies to enjoy at home. I can't comment on lunch or dinner, but as far as breakfast is concerned, Trees is a winner!

Who knew? a this place is amazing. Just what you need to feed a hungry crew. It had been a long time since I had yam fries that were actually GOOD..hot, crispy and fresh with chipotle mayo. This BLT on sourdough with yam fries was very memorable. The restaurant was VERY busy but the service was quick and efficient and I was surprised to receive our food so quickly. I’ll be back.

Great french fries!! A local little diner/ bakery. A gem on the backside of town. In a semi industrial part of town, near Errington and on the road that goes to Coombs. Good menu selections. They bake up gluten free breads and desserts. Good food. Daily soup and specials. Tasty green salads with a dill/ yougurt dressing. Good halibut and chips. But small size on the fish. 2 people, dinner, no alcohol, $30 and up. Not licensed. Good portion sizes but kinda pricey for a local little bakery/ restaurant. Great little find!

came here for breakfast and it was delicious. split a logger’s breakfast between two people and we couldn’t finish it; huge portion! the ingredients were all very fresh-tasting. the sausage patties were unique and the bacon was perfectly cooked. eggs were yellower than expected and i wonder if that’s the local eggs! potatoes were also delicious. the three bears oatmeal had a unique earthy and hearty taste; really good. service was quick and the server was very thoughtful in bringing extra share plates. i wouldn’t say it was the warmest service and oddly other tables around us were offered more coffee and we were never checked on or offered. ah well. tasty food though!

The decor is somewhat laid back, but perfectly serviceable. I had the halibut fish and trips and my wife the sweet potato fries. I thought the fish was the best I've had in some time and we were both happy with our meals. Service was also good, as were the prices. Even though we don't eat out very often, we'll probably be back.

My 2 dear friends and I tried Trees restaurant today July 24/19. We were there for lunch Anita ordered a cheeseburger and side salad. The burger was dry and inedible the bun on the edges was dry and hard. Diane & I and I ordered the beef pastie with melted cheddar cheese and gravy Diane had a side salad and I had the coleslaw. Both of our pasties were cold was not good at all!!!! The side salads were lettuce spinach and red onion with only 1 choice of dressing a yogurt based dressing yuck. All 3 of us agreed we would NEVER be back. As well it was lunchtime and they only had 1 waitress/server working it took 35 minutes to get our microwaved beef pasties.

My favorite experince was getting a view of extra cutlery resting peacefully under the dirty table. i would rather be 6 feet under then eat here again.

I've heard wonderful things about this place and was really excited to try it on our trip to Qualicum. However, the service here was very unpleasant. It was obvious we were not their ideal customers and we were made to feel so. We went here on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy some brunch. We were barely acknowledged when we went in (while other customers around us were getting helped) and when we finally did sit down, the server came across very passive agressive and rude. I asked her very simple questions ("What kind of sides does this come with?" and "What type of bread do you have?") and I was given very haughty answers ("It's on the menu" for both questions). We were hardly checked in on and the server barely made any conversation (which I don't care about but it was clear she was making an effort with other customers). The food was good. Nothing crazy but it was freshly made and the taste was good, although they could've used more seasoning. But when the service is bad at a restaurant, it's very difficult to thoroughly enjoy your experience. I truly hope this restaurant serves future POC customers better than they did us!

I will worn parents not to go there and save the headache. The coffee tasted like tea and they charge extra for almond milk. Amazing food! I had the club sandwich and hubs had the clam chowder but he didn’t get the sandwich he ordered. We didn’t say anything and the sandwich was good. The service from the waitress was great but waiting to pay wasnt. Also, I wanted something from the bakery and I was totally ignored by all the staff, even the one who was tending to the bakery! I stood there about 10 mins before a random waitress came to the till to add up her receipts. She stopped midway and looked at me ‘…can I help you with something?’ Kinda rude. Not sure if we will go back.

Wow! Farm fresh eggs with rich golden yolks and real maple syrup--what more can you ask for in a breakfast place. My latte was good, too. Service was fine, the one mistake was cleared up with apologies from the chef and a comped plate of lox. Their "hashbrowns" were actually herbed roast potatoes, which i consider a superior way to serve potatoes. If you are in the area, this place is a must for breakfast.

Lots of fake 5 star reviews! I went in there and will never be back again. The prices are too high compared to the quality they are providing you in return. The owner is really scattered, and not making sure customers are looked after properly. Meal was cold, took too long to deliver food out after it was ordered, waitress never got me a refill. I will never return to this dive again. I could get a better meal at a fast food place.

The bathrooms were clean and well decorated, even included a changing table for babies in the women's. They have a great bakery too! We stopped in on the way to Tofino and would advise you to do the same, as it is along the way and one of the last bits of civilization for a while!

Arrived here for breakfast, had the lox eggs bennie with lightly fried potatoes! The eggs were fresh and cooked to perfection, the hollandaise sauce and potatoes tasted delicious. Also the service was super friendly. We took some baked goods for our drive back to Victoria. I would highly recommend this place for a cosy bite to eat.

Visiting in town and came for breakfast with the family. Servers seemed a bit overwhelmed but that's understandable as there were only 2 of them trying to keep up with all the customers, even under social distancing. Food was delicious, everything fresh and handmade! Pancakes light like crepes and the homemade sausage patties were awesome! The queue outside is indicative of Tree's quality. The food consists of pretty much what one would expect from a restaurant that calls itself a diner; burgers, roast beef sandwiches, salads, etc. Breakfast attracts regulars and looks great. The cooks particularly do a great job. All very good and reasonably priced. The bakery aspect of Trees is wonderful; try the cornbread!

I read reviews online that made this sound like a great restaurant and bakery with a large selection of gluten free baked goods. In reality its a very small cafe with a bakery country on the side of the highway in an industrial zone. As for gluten free baked goods they had some loaves of bread that felt like bricks and peanut butter cookies.

Trees is a staple in the area. Better as a breakfast/brunch location vs other meals. They have a pretty big menu with lots of options and can cater to vegans as well. It's not my number one choice but I've now had both good and average experiences.

Won’t be back! We were seated for lunch and the end of breakfast, our server told us they couldn’t take our order just yet (we waited patiently until the table next to us just ordered breakfast), so we asked for a sausage roll to-go instead & they asked us to leave. We had to get on the road and they were very rude, saying that we lashed out. Surprising after how grateful they seemed for our business!

Took my parents and 5 kids here for lunch just cause it was convenient. Ended up making fans of all of us. My kids put it to a vote themselves in the car after that it was the best restaurant they've ever been to. I had a Caesar salad and poutine with garlic bread which were fantastic. My kids all had something different (waffles, burger, chicken fingers, fish and chips) and my parents both had fish meals. I can not say enough good things about the food and only regret that i wasnt able to try more. Their bread loaves and bakery both looked and smelled delicious. We are going to make a point of returning before our vacation in bc is over.

Stopped for lunch with two friends. All the food was hot and fresh. Service took a little while to get to us but they were busy and polite. Atmosphere was nice, very relaxed. My food was honestly really good, cajun chicken wrap with clam chowder. My girlfriend got the same thing but with the salad, the salad was honestly the worst thing about our lunch. Just lettuce with some onions and a bit of dressing. My friend got the mushroom burger with fries and shake which he deemed was all really good but the shake. Overall a pretty good experience, would definitely recommend.

My room mate went in today to get me take out eggs Benny for my birthday. He ordered me the vegetarian option. I asked for medium poached eggs (they were soft poached) the spinach was rotten underneath my tomatoes and all the veg is advertised as grilled, I got it all raw. My tomatoes were very thickly cut for a benny. The only thing that was correct was my hollandaise on the side. I generally do not complain as I have been cooking professionally for 12 years now, but this was unacceptable to be providing as a take out meal. My spinach was yellow and slimy... Thats how you give someone salmonella.

Good home style cooking but the best thing about this place, for me, is the bakery. My lady is Gluten sensitive so she is always looking for bread and buns and has had many disappointments....but not here. The bread is great but the buns are awesome! I get other yummy things and never disappointed. Highly recommended.

Used to go there once or twice a week, but the last time we went for a meal. After our waitress took or order she never came back. Another waitress brought our food to us. No one checked on us, even the owner Susan stopped by our table, still no refill of our drinks or asked us if everything was ok. We finally said something as we were leaving. Susan made an excuse for the waitress but did nothing to resolve our complaint. It will be a long time before we go back, and we will only go in if the wonderful manager is there. Only the best service when she is there. Its sad because we leave very nice tips when the service deserves it. Please talk to your waitresses.

The food was excellent quality, fresh and as local as possible, plus the owner and all who worked there were welcoming and friendly. And they had a very interesting selection of baked items. It is always really busy so I've only ever gotten one of their fresh made, yummy bakery items to go until today. We went for breakfast and I must say that their menu is amazing so many delicious sounding item to chose from, I warn you picking will be difficult. I had a lavender London fog which is super delicious and their eggs Benedict over crab ???? cakes was decadent, I highly recommend it. The crab cakes are house made and it came with toast from bread they bake in house. I had the cheese bread ???? something I've never seen offered at any other restaurant and my partner described it as eating a fluffy rain cloud ☁️. Make sure you eat here even if you have to go out of your way, you won't be disappointed. Also be sure to take home one of their baked goods to enjoy later.

My husband and i went there for breakfast ,as we read the reviews of great price and great food , every thing look really good ,but do not order a omelette ,my omelette had 3 slice of mushroom for $2.00 extra for that and 2 small slice not chop red peppers for $1.00 extra ,same for cheese and onions ,so for 2 omelettes and a coffee it cost us $ 40.00 , it is expensive for breakfast . the eggs Benedict would have been cheaper , I dont understand why .

Stopped here for breakfast at 8:30 on a Sunday, got a table immediately. Got much more crowded by the time we left about 9:15. Food was delicious, and there is a pretty amazing menu including usual breakfasts, benedicts, wraps, sandwiches, pancakes, waffles, and french toast. Not only that, but there are a bevy of baked goods to choose from at the counter including sweet and savory options. All the breads are house made, eggs are farm fresh with that perfect orange color, breakfast taters are roasted, and I had the Haida Wrap with lox that let you know you are in salmon country. Service was very good without being overly attentive. Would definitely come back.
