I stopped here because I needed to use a washroom on my way up island. I went in to find two employees and no line so I didn't want to use the washroom without buying something so I made a purchase and asked if I could use the washroom. No issues until I went in it to find it was totally unsanitary. There was days worth of dried urine on the toilet seat like it hadn't been cleaned in days. When I mentioned it to the barista at the cash register she looked at me like "so what?, it's not my job." So they went on to not clean it and chat behind the counter because they obviously didn't care. I will never re-visit this business nor any of its affiliates. And people wonder why many prefer Starbucks?

Staff was great... Seems to be a favorite meeting place of the "Nanaimo Visual-antis" a group of both males and females who in their spare time target the less fortunate (ei the homeless, people who due to extremely high housing costs have had to resort to camping and so on?) So aside from these ignorant and uninformed a-holes they have great food and drinks and wonderful staff

Stopped by here the other day. Purchased a coffee and muffin. The coffee was fine. However, the muffin had a bitter taste. When I asked where the restroom was, the barista pointed to the door connecting to the pizza store. The washrooms must not be regularly checked as there was dried blood on the bathroom stall door. In addition, there was a used syringe in the feminine disposal bin. That is a serious health hazard. I will not be visiting again.

This is our "go to" coffee house in our neighbourhood. It's cosy and inviting. Serious Coffee houses have great coffee, other drinks and food. They tend to be very community minded, as well. The company is based here, on Vancouver Island. I believe in supporting local businesses when possible. Not Starbucks, again, good and consistent as it may be,... Get Serious!

This location is convenient for me as it is close to many other shops that I frequent. The coffee and alternative drinks are always great quality and they offer Gluten Free snacks - Lemon Poppy Seed loaf being my favourite. There is a variety of seating - high tables and regular tables. Friendly, efficient staff.

I always seem to get the same overworked manager at the til and she usually makes my drink to completion, seems that all other staff are unable to serve and due to how busy it is with prep so I'd suggest offering some till support or hiring more? This is the friendliest coffee shop in town! This Sunday involved a birthday celebration for one of the regular (daily) patrons. She had just turned ninety-five! Shop owners brought out a muffin with butter icing and three candles. The whole crowd, friends and strangers alike, sang her happy birthday.

Recently moved to Nanaimo from Vancouver (where Starbucks was always the choice) Stopped in her for a coffee with my mom and Loved the atmosphere..have been frequenting here ever since (and starbucks hasnt been the same since). Location is great. Service is wonderful. Owner (Holly) is Awesome! Knows her "regulars" and keeps them Happy. Today she even personally delivered our table with a complimentary coffee (just like mom likes it) AND a biscuit which even included a Candle, Not to mention she even sang Happy birthday!! *will be visiting again* Highly recommend!!

Wasn’t aware of rules with service dogs. I dont leave my house often due to personal reasons, today I went in to grab a tea with my service dog. The manager or perhaps owner, yelled at me to get our repeatedly, I obviously got out quick but would’ve got out if she would’ve remained calm and spoke kindly to me as well. After I received my tea outside, I apologized and said I didn’t know they had rules against service dogs to one of the baristas, and as I was walking away towards the pizza store the owner chased me down the street yelling at me and making me feel extremely uncomfortable. This caused a bad breakdown because of issues I struggle with (why I have a service dog). Extremely rude and chaotic, I would not suggest going here. No consideration towards people with special needs.

I was a customer for over 10 years but they raised the price of the americano by 50 cents and when i order a bouble espresso in a regular cup they give me an attitude. The owner is the worst. They all are now except mill bay. I dont go there anymore i go to starbucks or tims.

The staff at this Serious Coffee location will brighten your day no matter what your mood may be. I went in for a simple breakfast bagel and morning Americano, and left with a free smile as well. Everyone maintains their composure in this fast-paced coffeehouse atmosphere with a cheery attitude and excellent food prep skills. My Americano was piping hot, as expected, and even the breakfast bagel pre-made in-house had some fresh bacon added to the eggs and cheese. This is *the* place to stop for a quick morning pick-me-up.
