I am leaving this for the great staffer GORDON. His personality is friendly and I didn’t have 0.05 for a bag at the cafe and he COVERED THE charge !!!! So Kind!!!! We need more good young staffers like this. Thank you On the other hand both my polite 18 years olds have ordered breakfast there and needless to say the older woman there has been quite curt with them. Doesn’t she realize they order breakfast for me also and I get the feedback when staffers are rude. Seems a little ageist. Hoping it’ll change because we like their breakfast.

Busiest at dinner time in the Chinese food section. The Chinese they sell here is subpar compared to many authentic restaurants. Fairly speedy check out. I have neutral feelings on the whole outfit. No access to "no name brand" type items, similar to Safeway Select, and Western Family. Because of this your only option is to purchase name brand items. Normally not a problem, but if you want to save money or simply don't have the money to spend, this isn't the place to buy. This is the same for all quality food locations. I am not trying to center this one out in particular. Usually quite pricey unless there is a sale on. Saveonfoods or Superstore beats this place any day. Very little organic food of any kind. They only retain my business because of their close proximity to my home. B+

The deli here always has fantastic fresh chinese food, and QF is one of the few places that still feels like a sense of small town community while many other stores have a more business/ impersonal shopping atmosphere. It's not a complaint, but an appreciation for the little touches that really do make a difference...the cashier who recognizes you, retro 1.49 Tuesday, certain things that only QF does...points that you can customize to an item when you shop.. the store is always clean and people are always friendly and smiling.

Clean, organized and pleasant in-store shopping experience. As a senior I have been using the delivery service recently. Quick, pleasant and despite Covid shortages, for the most part, I have received what I requested. Recent issue with produce was addressed quickly and satisfactorily. Customer service and quality is definitely their edge. Two thumbs up for all the staff in general, and particularly Christine, and delivery staff the during these trying conditions.

I like this grocery store for the Chinese restaurant that they have connected to the deli. I find Quality Foods to be rather expensive, and don't usually shop there for my daily groceries. Overall it is a bright and clean store with friendly staff and if you don't mind spending a few dollars $$$+++ more per item and you have some extra money to throw around than this is the Grocery store for you. As far as the Chinese food, I would recommend having the wonton soup with vegetables. It's excellent!!!

Ordering at the Chinese kitchen here was an exercise in necromancy; between the soul-dead staff and hours-old food, you might as well go to A&W across the way. The only good thing about the experience was the cleanliness of the dine-in area, which was as empty inside as the staff seem to be.

Some of the best quality produce in town, and a decent size deli and Chinese take-out. Lines are never very long and they go fast if they get longer. Best part is if you have a QF Card or get one you can scan 1 item each day at a special terminal they have and you'll get it for a cheaper price than listed ( there are exceptions to this ie. Item already on sale, any item that is done by weight, and some other rules ) $1.49 Day is also really awesome, check ou t the details on the website for more info on that little nugget. They also have an app which is great for sales.

We stopped in for chinese food tonight and it was closed so we got leftover chinese(Im hoping it was fresh, Ill let you know later). I wanted some "fresh salad" that they advertise and asked how fresh it was, she said it could be up to 2-3 days old (thank you for your honesty) so I said no thank you and apologized for wasting her time. She was snippy and huffing at me when I said that and seemed put out that she needed to help me in the first place. However, the cashier that was on was amazing and that did make it a wee bit better. She was fast, friendly and efficient. My 12th visit there will now not happen as the chinese food did not taste overly great in the end.

This store has a very pleasant environment to shop in. It is well lit, and not ever crowded. The restaurant portion of this grocery store is excellent. The staff are friendly and the store is well stocked. Unfortunately their prices are a bit high in the grocery section. They tend to about 15% higher than other stores in Nanaimo, and their sales will mostly just make them about the same price. That being said they stock a great variety of items, and will often carry items budget based grocery stores will not.

The store is always well merchandised and the footprint makes it easy to shop. Friendly staff and good selection of products. Only gripe is the parking lot is difficult to navigate during peak times and no spots to put buggies when you are halfway across the lot.

A grocery and a food hub if your hungry but make sure to buy fresh and cooked food before 7pm as they closed the counter before that time. They served Chinese, Western cuisine, and others. They all looked delish. You can see the menu items on the food tray which made it easier for me to decide. I bought 4pieces of cinnamon buns on a tray. So delicious yet affordable for 1.99. My husband had a tray of brownies which tasted so yummy for 4dollars. I will be back again to try out their other menus.

This is what I was told..."The whole idea is that you pay when you are at the Checkout then fill the bottle on your way out Thank you Quality foods". I usualy have great service. Today incompetent and rude. Tried to buy 2 649 tickets for different dates. Cashier insisted I had to buy 3 to get 2. That doesn't make sense on any level. She called someone and they said the same thing. Incompetent and poorly trained and insisting this is the only way. I won't be back anytime soon. Btw bcc confirmed under no circumstances do you have to by 3 tickets to get 2 different dates.

As a grocery store, quality foods ranks in the top percentile...I’ve switched all my meat shopping to quality foods and other items as well. I love the deli and $5.00 breakfasts. My only complaint would be the Chinese food. Their chicken dishes are not chicken....they are pork. “Pineapple Chicken”...is pork......any other and all chicken dishes sold as chicken is not chicken....it’s pork. The only exception would be the small deep fried chicken wings and legs. How can you fake that.....all other dishes are pork....camouflaged in sauce... I resent that deception but I do go back, expecting pork, instead of chicken. I’m surprised more consumers haven’t complained and the health department not involved....the quality of the food is fine, but it’s pork...not chicken.

It was an evening visit. We just needed a few items. We were in and out fairly quickly with what we needed. It was not busy, we got efficient service with a smile. It tends to be a regular go-to business for us especially in between larger shopping trips to bigger grocers that have more selection. Produce and baked goods at QF are always fresh and packaged in quantities that work for just the two of us in our household.

We went for Chinese food as my Mom like their Chinese food but the food is really lacking in our opinion in both choice and flavour. "Typical American Chinese" not really Chinese at all. The food was barely warm and you had to ask what everything was as nothing was identified. Very difficult to do with masks on and our server, a nice lady who was heavily accented and therefore hard to understand between ple Iguassu and a mask. The woman working the cash register need a strong dose of happy! Just miserable is the best and most polite description I can give her. Nice little cafe but they will not customize an order for you and what they have previously prepared, ready to serve isn't hot. Not worth a return visit which is to bad as it is convenient and reasonably priced.

Ordered takeout Chinese dinners and it was all luke warm , tasteless , tough meat. Just the worst takeout I have ever had at 35.00. Never give these dudes another dime. There may be steam coming out of the steam tables but that does not mean the food is hot. I tried their wonton soup previously and this too was tasteless and luke warm. No more money spent here. The cooks should sometimes taste the garbage they are foisting upon the public.

The deli and Chinese food is fantastic! It's like a wonderland! Smoked meats great sandwiches and wraps! Salads... best in the mid island area!

Wish they put mandatory masks in place bc some people are just Not Practicing Social Distancing. Having some dude peering over my shoulder to see what's in the display cabinet sans a mask, very disconcerting

Dinning in not a good experience Saturday Night. No one on till for eat in. Silverware dirty. 2 out of 3 coffee cups were clean. Well it is nice to provide charging stations they should be clean.
