Covers local events and Nanaimo area news. Mediocre writing quality at best. The paper is full to the brim with advertising inserts and this makes it an essential tool if you are looking for sale items or for pricing and availability of stuff in general. The 'Beefs and Bouquets' section is fun to read and the letters to editor give a good idea what the concern-of-the-day is. Many of the letters are thoughtful and worth reading and local politicians would be wise not to ignore the opinions expressed in them as well as who or what the targets are in the 'Beefs'.
