It's been here for at least 17 years and is still refusing to give in to the yuppie-gentrified blandness that so many small joints give in to. Amazing food at a good price made fresh for every order. My favourite place since I was a kid. I used to play with Gina's daughter at the Imagination Market when we were 8 years old, before Gina expanded Delicado's from a little two chair diner. It was a really magical place and Gina is an amazing person! The salsa is the best! Their food is classic and authentic Mexican cuisine! Gina the owner also has a wonderful history on the stories that started it all! The trips in her VW van driving down to Mexico! What is so cool is she is the real deal, an amazing woman that is real and authentic! Thanks Gina, still coming to your restaurant years later!

I’ve heard great things but finally just made it to this hidden treat in the Old Quarter section of downtown Nanaimo. I love a hearty and healthy meal and as a vegetarian I was extremely spoiled by both the flavour and the size of the Veggie Burrito. The location is great, wonderful outside patio and the inside decor is simple and enjoyable. I noticed there is a bit of an ethnic grocery store mixed inside as well. I will be back to explore more of the menu next time.

Been in love with this place for years. Sort of a healthy, fresh side of tex mex. Their hot sauce is amazing and can get spicier than most places are willing to serve commercially. The Nitro is not for the faint of heart. Basically, this is the perfect lunch place, and i visit almost every time I'm back in Nanaimo.

Hailing from Chicago, land of gastronomy and a global food scene, with aspirations to be a 'foodie' I recently fell in love with Delicado's during my visit to Nanaimo. Wes and Joanne are phenomenal hosts and the entire staff greets you with enthusiasm and smiles. The grub is great! Superb actually. From a multitude of wraps to scrumptious salads. Some of my favorites were the cold pad thai salad, the quinoa salad, the hummus, and the veggie roll-up on a curry wrap! The heat of the chipotle sauce is simply spot on. All ingredients are fresh and local, there are no walk-in refrigerators onsite, and all food is prepared same day! This means everything is fresh! During my visit the place was bustling with a steady stream of happy and hungry people of all ages. A family friendly place with a warm, southwest feel environment. If you find yourself on the east side of Vancouver Island in the beautiful town of Nanaimo please take the time to find and enjoy Delicado's on Wesley Street! Cheers!

Great customer service my daughter won the Halloween coloring contest and used her gift certificate here and the employee was so nice he even bought my 12-year-old autistic daughter a dessert on his own dime and when my daughter embarrassingly asked if it was okay to exchange the dessert for a drink the employee told her it was cool super nice staff and amazing food highly recommended ????

Average price, with superior taste. Was going to give 4 stars BUT they a) sell many, many kinds of unique hot sauces and b) have an area for condiments (salt and pepper etc.) where they keep opened bottles of select hot sauces. This means I can try some of them, before I buy them. Found some AMAZING brands like this! Had to give the extra star for this little perk. They also have a small but adequate and nice outdoor seating area for warmer weather.

Really excellent food and customer service.like previous reviews have stated, not traditional mexican AND its still amazing food. Very well flavored, vegetables very fresh. We ordered the kids chicken and cheese burrito, my son devoured it, I had the vegetarian burrito with medium spice, it was excellent and my partner had a small nacho and a small bean and cheese burrito. So awesome. The owner brought our food to the table, was very friendly and even comped us the tortilla bake( I think that's what it was called? ) !!! Such an amazing experience overall. We will be life long customers now ❤

Rated as top lunch in town, it's also great for dinner, but make sure to get in before they close. I usually have a wrap and a salad, and would recommend pushing yourself and trying it a bit hotter than you normally would, you won't regret it!

I have been a regular customer of Delicado’s on Wesley Street, Nanaimo for over 20 years now. It has been my go to place for lunch, actually it was at least a once a month addiction when I worked downtown. Now, my trips to Nanaimo are arranged around a meal at Delicado’s. What I’ve noticed is whenever I eat there, my stomach says thank you. The food is always fresh, wholesome and delicious and the wonderful staff add to an always consistently great experience and product! I brought my new partner to Delicado’s for the first time, over a year ago and he, like I loves the food! Great job guys! In the days of fast food and instant gratification we both would much rather come toDelicado’s for a bite than the big box brands. Great job and thank you for providing a healthy alternative!

The Delicado's on Westley st. is amazing! I will drive from the north end when I want it. Their food is always fresh, and you know what your getting. Their's one thing I give them quodos for, is that their food is always consistant. I have never, and I mean never had a bad meal come from there. I love their salads, fresh and healthy. You can't beat Delicado's!!! I highly recommend eating here, you won't be disappointed! Try the chicken roll-up with extra sprouts and some hummas. It's addicting!!

A great place to get a good meal. I was taken there by a friend who is goes quite regularly. There are several choices in the Mexican style menu. I tried a chicken wrap which was recommended by my friend. It was good and I really enjoyed my meal. I think you can different levels of chili. Mine was a medium. Hot enough but tasty. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The ambience is pleasant. Wait time is moderate at lunch time.

The food tastes good and isn't authentic mexican (obviously) but does its thing really well, the flavors are combined effectively. But the wraps are very overpriced and, way too small. Since I know how to make wraps that taste almost identical at home we're not bothering anymore. Delicados has lost this customer!
