The place just feels warm and friendly as do the staff and the owner. I often go there to do post production photography work or to meet people and have never had anything but a great visit. Their food is good, I really couldn't care less about coffee and it is hard to mess up my tea :) Disclaimer: I do know the owner but loved the place long before meeting him and finding out our kids are friends, back when it was still at the old location.

Great coffee and snacks, beautiful setting, seating and building. High vaulted ceiling allows for lots of natural light. Staff and fabulous. Very clean and well maintained. Lovely little outdoor seating areas in different locations outside the cafe. Very communal and a favourite place to meet up with a friend or spend a little "me time".

Sufficient parking but if it ever gets really busy could see there being a struggle to find parking. Staff is genuine and friendly, it is a sweet local-guy coffee shop with a welcoming atmosphere. Only CON I'd I had to produce one is that there is not enough plug ins for studying students and their laptops.

SERVICE WAS TOP NOTCH. Welcoming, informative on menu options, kind and friendly! The Cinnamon bun was sufficiently tasty. On the more dense side as opposed to my preferred fluffy buns, but nevertheless enjoyable! My beverage of choice was the staple iced chai latte. It did a delectable job at refreshing my mouth while simultaneously bursting my buds with flavour.

I like the coffee and the space here, it was great, however, I would have given 5 stars if staff were more friendly and inviting. I got a very cold vibe from staff here. Smile, greet people with enthusiasm for visiting your business rather than appearing bored, disengaged and unfriendly. Thank your customers for coming in and patronizing your business and differentiate yourself in a competitive market. My first visit was a little disappointing because of only what I mentioned, otherwise you have potential.

Upon ordering my drink in a to-go cup, the super rude employee told me that I had to "get out because I can't have it both ways". Yes clearly I ordered the to-go cup because I intended to have my drink elsewear, there's no need for the employee to remind me of that by telling me to "get out". It was such a shock to my husband and I that we weren't sure if this was a sort of joke. The latte, however, was fantastic.

More Parking would be good. My first time here. My wife ordered a ice cap coffee watermelon smoothie.Started out as a ice coffee then changed because she dislikes most coffee. The person at the till was helpful and inventive and she suggested we could have the same thing and no coffee and make it a watermelon smoothie. I have to say,it was rather good and tasted like watermelon.Thanks for not adding more sugar or artificial sweeteners.

My first visit here and wow what a large and busy coffee shop! I was recommended to come here for the good wifi and ample space to work on my laptop, it satisfied my reasons for coming perfectly. Overall experience was just okay, prices were a bit high and food selection was just okay, quality of what you did get was pretty good. The experience was dampened by the passive-aggressive note left on my toddler's snack container that was on the table while we were grabbing our drinks staying there was "NO OUTSIDE FOOD!" allowed. It's unfortunate that a family cannot go in and enjoy a coupe of coffees without having to buy an overpriced piece of cake for their 3 year old to eat. If they are going to restrict people from brining in kids snacks I would suggest they offer a suitable alternative for kids to eat. Had been a handful of times since living in Nanaimo, most likely won't be back.

A group of us had lunch in the meeting room at the rear of the cafe. Wraps, sandwiches, fruit plate and dessert - and coffee! - for a very reasonable rate. The wraps were particularly good. Excellent service throughout. Nice room, maybe a little noisy or maybe that was us:) Parking isn't the easiest, which is a good sign since it means the cafe is popular, but there's lots more around the area within 2 minute walk.

Good coffee and treats - a few vegan options including their peanut butter oat bar which is delicious. They charge $0.75 for plant milks, which is common practice but disappointing nonetheless. Good coffee too (for great coffee, check out Regard nearby). Overall a lovely atmosphere, friendly people, and tasty food.

We were immediately greeted with incredible positivity and incredible enthusiasm. This shop is high on locally sourced and independent java proprietors. And our order came with an offer of a explanation of the beans in our cup. It's an unassuming spot. Humble. Nothing fancy. But when you're seeking good coffee isn't that all that matters (plus the service of course).

Makes the best vanilla coconut latte???????????? 2021/09/03 Met two friends there for lunch and a sugar free caramel macciato. First time we went here for lunch and it was fabulous. Only suggestion I have is they should advertise that they have Keto bread for us low-carb people. Luckily the server let me know as I was asking for my sandwich (prosciutto and cheese) on a plate withoutvthe croissant as I don't eat carbs. All 3 meals were excellent as was the service and friendliness of the staff.

Delicious home made baked goods like sausage rolls and a breakfast sandwich made with pesto (although this doesn't initially sound great the combination of the pesto with their choice of cheese and spices on the egg make it amazing!!). I enjoy my time spent in this coffee shop. The coffee is good & the food is tastey/simple; not off the charts. The crowd is well established, trendy, yuppy crowd. Their previous coffee shop (location & size) definitely had a better vibe; not sure why they went so small on this one. Nanaimo could use a Buzz in the North end... again.

Love the ambience here! Very community oriented and always busy :) the food and beverages are good, but a bit over-priced (large drip coffee was almost $3.50 after taxes). Would highly recommend their homemade carrot cake!

My wife and i stopped in for a couple americanos . We chatted with the young lady about how nice it looked in there since our last visit a couple years ago. She made our drinks. We got our drinks and made them up only to realize they tasted weak. We both agreed that each others were in fact quite weak. We told the gentleman working up front and he simply told us that's how they come. No apology, no offer to remake or add espresso. Nothing. My wife and I looked at each other and walked out. All that needed to happen was a bit more espresso. I would have happily paid for it too. Too late now unfortunately

The service is over the top with friendly staff to accommodate all requests and even unusual ones based on allergies and tastes. Shhh. There is an award sitting on the counter. Been here a few times with my wife and alone, even with my shirt on backwards once and didn't get laughed at. Every visit has been good, along with the quality of the products they serve. Too bad there wasn't more out door seating. (Rooftop FTW)

Stopped in for the first time with my 7 month old daughter while we waited for my husband to finish an appointment and was so pleased. Great coffee and fantastic ambiance. We were surprised by the chef offering an orange slice for my daughter and I thought it was so kind! We didn't realize that there was a brunch menu and it looked quite good so we're excited to come back soon to try it out.

Decided to try Buzz out as my daughter recommended. Not disappointed. Quite impressed and happy that we stopped in. Very inviting and welcome inside the store. I used to really love this place until they stopped having sugar free options for lattes and other drinks. If I wanted plain coffee, I can make that at home. Luckily there are many other places in Nanaimo that can cater to diabetic patrons.

A good coffee shop at Dufferen Cres by Bowen Road, Nanaimo. They serve variety of coffee and snacks, sandwiches. Good ambiance, bright windows with partial view of Mt Benson. They have high chairs and normal chairs with appropriate tables. Parking slots are not enough so have to park at next parking lot of Moksha Yoga premises. There is Shaw open WiFi. Prices are slightly higher side for their products compared to their competitor Tim Horton's.

Staff had attitude as if we were a nuisance being there.We were told that they were closing twice at least 20 minutes prior to closing time certainly not a way to bring your custmers back.

Just moved here, been excited about this coffee shop, went in for the 3rd time in two weeks and today they lost me. I went with my husband and we brought our three yr old some snacks to keep him busy, while we were paying for our order, an unfriendly note was left on our sons snack container, NO outside food! I understand they sell food but still, my child is not your demographic and you charge almost $4 for a rice crispy treat. My issue is not even with the policy but lies in the lacking customer communication skills, you could have kindly approach us and explained your policy. I would have been responsive and apologetic but instead you took a poor cowardly approach. Sorry Buzz, this is not good service, won't be back.
